Jayson Tatum talks 2-0 Series Lead vs Pacers, Postgame Interview 🎤

questions for Jason Jason a lot of the uh momentum seemed to shift when you moved over to the five and OA came in played played the four what did you see from those lineups that that worked yeah I think it allowed us to play a little bit faster um and you know each game presents different challenges or um you know we we always talk about you just have to be open to to different things and you know whenever your number is called or whatever you’re asked to do um just be ready to do it I mean we’ve talked about this a little bit before obviously you’re a big guy but playing the five is different responsibilities maybe a little bit of a different toll in your body what what is that like for you shifting into that position uh I mean we got defensive principles that you know we’re just we follow uh and it’s just about being connected communicating and playing hard essentially and then uh you know going up and get trying to get a rebound Jason O was a plus 18 tonight what did you see from him that made him so impactful and how rewarding is it to see a guy that really hasn’t seen many minutes this postseason take off like that uh it was great you know just the energy that he came in with on both ends um just finding a way to impact the game and like you said we see the Stay Ready group guys work and and show up for us every single day uh so you know I I love when they when they’re able to get their number called and uh get an opportunity to help us win a game Jason did you speak with Jaylen before the game about being snubbed from the all NBA teams and if so how do you think it impacted him and tonight uh no we didn’t talk about that today uh you know during shoo around we just focus on winning the game tonight um you know we all felt like internally that he should have you know made one all NBA teams uh so it was a shame to see that that he didn’t Jason 40 points for for jayen tonight after his heroics in in game one what have you seen from him throughout the course of this postseason how has his game evolved in your view uh I think you know the game is Just slowing down for him more and more uh finding ways to to be effective uh still while making the right play and uh you know just just being himself um you know when we need him to Jason how pleased are you to get out of here up two games to none heading to Indie for game three has what what you guys were able to accomplish here yeah I mean winning is hard winning in the playoffs is is is is tough It’s it never goes I guess how you expect it to uh you know each game is is is different in his own right uh it did feel good to finally win a game too especially at home so uh but we understand that New York was up 20 and ended up losing that Series so uh you know far from relaxed but uh you know you you take a win whenever you get it they they play on offense with a lot of chaos that’s a word that’s been used a lot how did you feel tonight you guys have kind of been able to slow down and see through the chaos I mean it’s tough they they put a lot of pressure on you even the guys that come off the bench they play with a lot of freedom a lot of pace um they do a good job of space in the floor uh so you just got to connect to them connect to bodies you can’t let them run around without getting touched essentially uh cuz then it makes it extremely tough to do and throughout the season you jump in out of 14 and 15 coverage all the time changing coverages so much throughout the season does it make it easier to adapt to how much you have to change with this team uh I mean short answer would be yeah we just practice it so much throughout the season that uh and that’s why we do it throughout the regular season um just so you know when it comes to playoff time there’s not a lot of confusion Jason how important is jaylen’s voice obviously his play has been big but his voice you know becoming more vocal I know you know in one of the games you struggled early in the playoffs he was like Jason found his rhythm we got to see him find his rhythm even more has he kind of been in your ear for a lot of this playoff run motivating you and pushing you like what’s what’s this voice been like for you and the team yeah I think uh it’s important for every guy um in that locker room to to speak up right we all respect each other uh and that comes from trust we we see the work that everybody puts in every single day and the growth from you know whenever your first year here was until now um the growth and development of of every single guy and we have that environment where um you know everybody has a voice from the the top guy to you know the last man on the bench right we all in this together um you need to encourage somebody do so if you see something that we doing wrong you you know she her job to speak up and how does that help you when a guy like him does try to motivate you or anybody on the team really like you say uh it’s just like having 15 brothers or so right we all um spend so much time together um we we trying to accomplish something special so we uh we are all in this together last question to Abby you mentioned JB but what does it mean to you to make the all NBA team and third straight year how gratifying is that after all the work that you put in uh I mean it it’s special it’s something I uh you know I I strive to to do that I expect uh but it’s nothing I take for granted um it’s an honor to be on First Team all NBA um you know so many talented guys in this league um you know the talent just gets better and better each and every year so I’m very fortunate to to make that team again uh you know I’m thankful thankful for everybody that has helped me along the way uh you know success is not something that you can achieve by yourself so uh you know it’s a lot of people that deserve Credit in helping me get to um where I’m at

  1. yall compare tatum and brown so much😭 they're on the same damn team and they work TOGETHER to win it's not a competition of who's better. brown is the highest paid player in the nba he BETTER have at least some nights scoring more than tatum😹

  2. Lol JT & JB can both be that guy any given night JT has the nod in most areas but JB is still a killer. Why is it that when JB out scores JTtho its a who’s better as if all time greats never had a teammate step up? They are great together is what matters

  3. Its so funny Bill Simmons talked exactly about them playing Tatum at the 5 and using Brissett and then they do it.

  4. "We have defensive principles we follow." There is a high level of confidence in that statement. It makes me wonder if it's rooted in Ime Udoke's philosophy and if it can be exploited by him.

  5. Unfortunately Tatum will be pushed out of boston by all the scrutiny he's faced from fans/non-fans and media. If they don't win the title i'm sure Tatum will be in Purple and Gold at some point. It's truly pathetic how divisive the narrative has been with this team for the past 3-4 years.

  6. This dude performances are gonna catch up to him in the finals. We not winning no championship with him playing this bad

  7. The JB and JT CPT narrative is hilarious. I hope these two start trying to fight for the CPT role. JB and JT starting to compete against each other to outperform…. We all win. BOSTON wins in that scenario, and the rest of the NBA suffers.

  8. Lets Go Celtics!!! The media n the lebron acolytes want so bad for the Jays to break up. They always looks for a way to talk down on Tatum, but these two compliment each othe well. God bless the Jays n the Celtics

  9. No excuse for Tatum not to win in it all this year. He has more playoff experience than any player left and is on the team with the most talented roster top to bottom. These type of performances are not going to cut it. He’s the most up and down player in the league for someone his caliber. You’re supposed to elevate your level of play in the playoffs.

  10. " JB is better than JT " This is what clowns do. You would think it's the Cancun fans but they're Celtic fans too which is crazy. I'm sure that both don't care who scores more as long as they win a chip.

  11. Everybody trying to play them against each other when it’s nothing but love and respect everyone focus on me ne thing when luka and kyrie does it it’s one player filling in the blanks reliever

  12. I'm sorry, as a life long Celtics fan who's passionate about the game, I need to see JT get out of his head and be himself. His impact is needed to achieve the ultimate goal.. banner #18 🏆

  13. When it all boils down both are great player u people are just so rule God want us to be humble just like JT that's why at the end he do wat needs to be done JB also ❤ love both these guys❤

  14. Even w how well were playing I’m not convinced this team has championship potential. Something feels off. But we’ll see

  15. Why didn't anyone have the nuts to ask him why he was out there on the floor pouting. His body language sucked and he didn't want to play defense. He was even passing the ball horribly….AAU kicking back in. Grow up
