“Fatigue can’t be a factor.” | Kyle Anderson Practice Sound | 05.23.24

we kind of talked before the series started about the the vast difference in the style of play that Dallas has to Denver do you think there was some adjustments that were going on last night just kind of learning a new opponent or how do you see that point yeah when you play a team seven times and a span in two weeks I think you do get a little adjusted to them um so I think we got to flip the switch to uh guys like you know this Dallas team has PJ who’s playing at a very high level Kyrie and Luca obviously two very good scores in our league and very crafty and have a lot of game to them so um you know we just got think we just got to you know make that adjustment and uh you know it’s a lot different style than yic coming at you or yic being super effective so you know just flip that switch they also seem really active on the glass just with a lot of athletes there like what kind of adjustments can you make just to kind of reassert your size and use that to an advantage yeah again um it’s a lot different than nicoa leaning on you for the offensive glass than guys who are going to out jump you Derrick Jones Jr Lively uh Gafford they’re all really good athletes so um we got to put a body on those guys they do a really their guards do a really job good job crashing so um you know our guards got to be a little more uh you know focused on you know getting a body on their guys coming from the perimeter do you feel pretty good about kind of the offense that was there for you and the opportunities that are going to be there for you in the series do you think yeah I mean it’s again it’s a little different from Denver I think uh Denver was on the ball and like going over screens these guys are going to go under and play a little soft on me so I think I can be a little bit effective Kyle with uh KY and luk was talking about Carl talking about after the game there was a fatigue Factor um going into that game last night with more energy for game two what will that do against yeah that fatigue can be a factor at this point of the season um uh I think after the film session we had and losing game one we’ll have a lot more energy and Juice uh game two what what are like what are things that you could share speci that you’d like to see more against Kyrie and luuka in the pick b um I think it’s I think we left it to Jaden too much or Rudy or one man I think it’s a whole team effort when you’re playing against two skillfully offensive guys like that so um you know guys got to be in gaps um it’s going to take five of us to guard them um just got to be more a little bit more intentive so not defending two anymore uh uh no that’s the case as well but we got to present ourselves a lot of their a lot of Kai’s buckets were in transition and um and transition I don’t think we want to like stay home or anything like that we got to be able to show them a crowd and present ourselves and uh make it tougher 493 is a lot for kind of any NBA team to put up but you guys were ranked in the 20s streets per game during the regular season so even bigger number for you what do you think led to that in game one and you learn anything from the film in terms of we shot 49 threes oh wow that’s a lot um yeah just that’s just you know taking what they’re giving us really um you know Lucas kind of playing off me he’s kind of playing off Jaden um a lot of guys uh you know where threes are there for us and you know those are good shots we want to take them it’s not like guys were shooting like off the bounce contested threes so that’s what they’re going to give us we got to be ready to knock it down ker you seen Jaden just really find a Groove offensively the last three or four games it seems like he’s noticing his spots yeah I’ve always wanted to see Jaden like you know get a chance to shoot like 20 25 shots a game like that’s one of my favorite players in the league so uh yeah he’s playing at a really high level um if they’re going to allow him to shoot he’s knocking it down and uh he’s good off the bounce um he’s such a complete player he can really do everything out there so uh you know we we need him to keep rolling has he always been one of your favorite players in the league yeah yeah since we since uh I’ve been my last year in Memphis and we played against him in the playoffs yeah he he’s always been he guards he can do everything out there it’s not anything he can’t do what about them I they were playing joic and nkit were up so much it seems like Dallas has a lot more of a r protection there The Bigs back what what does that change um I think it just you know they do a good job of flooding the paint and um you know especially on Ant and cat um but everybody once you get in the paint you’re going to see five Dallas jersey so I think we got to do a better job of playmaking um I I think Nas uh in the Denver series like he became a little bit more of a play playmaker and um you know finding the right pass so um he he’s so good offensively guys are going to collapse on him he’s going to have to make that corner pass uh cat as well and you know they know our guys that do a good job of scoring in the paint um they might just you know have to the play to the corner was there all game one so um it’s good to see it on film and I I know we’re going to make those plays uh next game his coach been more active and vocal now that he’s up in the b a little little bit more yeah uh he he’s always he’s he’s I think he’s more active and vocal from behind the bench really like he’s uh he’s pretty intense right now like that though you can hear him back there yeah for sure for sure for sure um said last night that you felt like the end of quarter situation certainly affected you in game one there was other times in the class where it’s come up yeah is there a collective recognition of that now how do you I guess try to fix it without getting your heads about it happening again just being more conscious of it really we we watched it just now in film um we have to be better at closing quarters two for one situations uh three for two situations if we could get him um not turning the ball over not giving up easy buckets at the end and then playing to the whistle really I think it was at Phoenix was it uh no last Denver Series where Jamal hit the like 50-footer and that was huge um you know we just got to be conscious of it and uh execute really Cal do you like how I guess you guys were seem to like kept kept their three three-point attempts down I mean they’re they’re prolific went you and they they took 25 of them is that it is kind of one of the game plans to try and limit their opportunities in that regard yeah but we also just can’t give up 60 points in the paint along with this so um I don’t know we we got to make an adjustment to it we can’t give up that many points in the paint but we do want to get them off the line they’re a really good three-point shooting team uh just got to take care of the other ends

  1. Please win tomorrow night. I have tickets and I don’t want to see us go down 0-2. We can do it

  2. nah nah. Shot 46 threes and you say its what the defense was giving us and we gotta be ready to knock em down? Nah man we got bigger bodies. why arent we living in the paint? That mentality to live beyond the 3 point line is a recipe for a loss. This team is not bright at all. Oh well its too late for them to learn

  3. If you don't understand? I'll just let you understand. The Finals is supposedly suppose to be Anthony Edwards leading the Minnesota troops no cares, no worries, no crying and all effort and everything left on the court. What you need to do when they call you names is take the comments and make it work and elevate your game. Take the Pacers ball movement and The Celtics acrobatics and play to "Win" as fast as you can get to 4. You must not allow trailing by 10 pts. Don't worry, be happy, play YOUR game and defend against their game. Defense is what wins games, but scoring is what makes you famous. So choose to encompass both attributes of virtue cause waiting and saying next year when you's are this close would be time wasted. Don't make excuses, like Oh!!! I learned something. You've all been in the league for at least years already and must have learned that sometimes for some tomorrow never comes, so with that said. Hunt them with basketball smarts like the wolf pack and soar like an eagle above and beyond your dreams. Cause dreams have not limits, when you got the skills to shake rattle & roll. Let's Go Minnesota Timberwolves, Let's Go!!! It's now, not next time or next year. Stay calm, breathe, and perform as if it matters, cause no one ever talks about second place, everyone always remembers the winner.

  4. FINCH READ THIS! Put Kyle Anderson on Luka, and Jaden on Kyrie! Slo-Mo can match luka's slow style

Let Ant get the easier defensive assignment so he has energy to score

  5. They are watching you shoot 3s, shoot midrange shots but you have to drive in with the Euro step layup too. 😂 The Anderson//Luka matchup looks good in game 1.
