I mean outside of international prospects and given how traditional big men have been devalued, even in the era with several great and potentially hall of fame bound ones, is this that big of a surprise?

I don’t love how undersized he is but he does have the shooting ability to compensate, plus pairing him with Amen could help both of their deficiencies (Amen’s shooting and his D).
I can’t see Atlanta picking him if they’re keeping Trae (undersized backcourt), same with Washington and Poole. Personally I think he’s the pick if we stay at 3. What I fear most is him and Sarr going 1-2 because they’re the only two prospects I think are worth the pick at 3. (I’m not down on Risacher but I think he’d be a terrible fit with all of our forwards and I admittedly have never watched Topic play.)
I’m also hoping he doesn’t land in SA because I think that would also be a great fit for him.

I’m glad Jabari has found his footing a little better this year, but I don’t want to relive the Paola/Jabari saga again 🙁

I’m happy with Sheppard. I’m also happy with Sarr or Risacher. 3 is a good place to draft.

I mean, I’ve personally thought Reed should be an option for first overall in this weak deaft class since about halfway through Kentucky’s conference play this year. In fact, if I was the Hawks, I’d trade Tre Young for as much as I could and then draft Reed.
So, yeah, as a big fan of Reed , I’m honestly more worried about him going top 2 than I am of the Rockets stupidly passing on him to draft someone else.

DraftExpress is trash now after ESPN bought them. Several teams mean nothing. I’m sure those in #8-20 range have him #1 on their list be because they don’t think they have a chance at Sarr, Risache, etc.

I’m no expert and honestly I haven’t seen enough of him but in the little I have seen, I just can’t see his skills translating well in the NBA. Like a spot up shooter maybe, but he seems so slow and his ball handling is subpar.
Am I just way off base here?

Any analytics people who know how he got his shots? 52% on wide open catch and shoot 3s, on contests by type, pull up jumpers, etc. Didn’t watch Kentucky play tbh.

Those teams? Kentucky University and North Laurel High School.
