Should the Sacramento Kings trade for Kyle Kuzma?

Chris R behind the glass with three for madness question one as expected the Wizards are reportedly looking to trade kusma why does this tra trade make perfect sense for Sacramento why does this trade make perfect sense for Sacramento well they need a reliable second scorer and with Kyle kozma at 69 you can you now have kind of two swings if you will and Keegan Murray and kozma you could throw kozma at the power forward and put uh put Keegan at the three or or vice versa you could throw kozman at the three move move Keegan down either way you’re going to have two fairly versatile scorers kozma is 28 years old he’ll be 29 in July 22.6 and a half boards four assists shooting 46% from the field last year on a terrible Wizards team uh mid-30s uh from the the behind the ark uh makes makes about two two and a half per game if memory serves me correctly this would give the Kings an incredibly reliable second score to help fox out moves Damonte sabonis to what he should be which is the third score uh especially if they lose Malik monk it’s going to add a little Firepower to that starting lineup we’re also talking contract as well kuzma’s on a Ken catanella special a descending contract he’s locked up for three more years at 23 a half 21 and a half and then 19 and a half now context is everything if I’m Monty McNair I offer the number 13 pick in the draft and Harrison Barnes the salaries work for Kyle kosma so you’re you’re effectively switching out kosma for Barnes and that number 13 pick I I I I would I would be comfortable offering that and if they want anything beyond that unless it’s you know no offense but you know Alex Len or somebody on the Deep bench uh if they want anything beyond that then uh thank you no thank you um but in this case it add more Firepower for the Kings and on a relatively cheap situation where you’re basically just swapping out Barnes and kosma and you still have whatever money you have left and future picks to do with what you will question two question two as expected the Wizards are reportedly looking to trade cusma why does this make no sense for sex fromo uh did you have to double take that to make sure I didn’t WR the same question F I’m just curious because that and the sax ramento did I say sax fromo I thought you just Steve Sachs bro for Dodger sa yes I spelled Sacramento with an X sax ramento so obviously setting this up I’m not here to advocate for it I’m actually kind of really split on this I I I do think the Kings need another reliable shooter and God for man if if assuming herder’s on the team next year if he’s able to come back and regain that shot it’s a whole new world especially if you have a guy like kozma you’re talking about adding a 22 Point scorer who by the way is most likely going to get a little bit more efficient and a little bit better when you’re on a team where you’re not the number one option where you’re not having to rely on Jordan pool to set you up where you’re not the one getting double teamed and schemed for when you’re at best the second option it’s going to be like a breath of fresh air for for a guy like Kyle kosma coming from the Warriors or Warriors the Wizards to a team like Sacramento and a city like Sacramento so I do expect that there would be a little bit of bump of a bump and we’d actually get a little bit of a better version of kyak kosma that being said I don’t like the fact that there were reports out there that he chose to kind of stay with the Wizards a terrible team rather than come to Sacramento last year uh the Kings have been kicking the tires on Kyle kosman for about four years now and almost got him had the Lakers not swooped in the Russell West Brook trade um and again defense I think has to be the number one priority for this team now this isn’t the move you know as I often will say is this a championship team if they make this move because they can only do moves on the periphery that’s not the case here the salaries M you’re just basically subbing out Barnes for kma you’re going to get better offensively but kosma is not the defender that Barnes is not that Barnes is a lock down but Barnes has generally taken the toughest assignment every night and and in many cases holding his own that’s not going to be the case with kozman you’re gonna need more help which would probably lean you towards a Keon Clark start at at number two or Clark dang it I I need to stop doing that Keon Ellis start at number two uh if kman were to come in especially if monk was gone if monk were to stay and you were go Fox Monk kozma Keegan domas you’re gonna have just a ridiculous offensive team and you’re going to be able to bring defense off the floor in the back court with Mitchell and Ellis uh but your defense overall is going to fall it’s an interesting interesting thought exercise I know kozma doesn’t knock the doors down here but bottom line is he’s a 28-year-old 22p Point aame scorer who is on a descending very attractive contract number three please question three
