[Haynes] Rich Paul: “LeBron is not involved. That’s accurate. I think it’s hard for people to not want a narrative per se…But as for the coaching search, this is a Lakers decision..In my opinion, the Lakers’ focus should probably be more so on Anthony Davis than LeBron at this point.”

Rich Paul ignoring media narratives but reddit loves that shit lol
All we can do is speculate. No point in anyone acting like they know for sure wtf is going on
lol right there he confirms he doesn’t want lebron to get blamed
Rich could very well be right, but I expect him to protect his most precious and valuable client, so who knows if he’s telling the truth.
That last sentence is strange lol
The rest of the FO isn’t even involved in this decision. Thus far, Rob and maybe Kurt have been the only ones in the know.
Anyone else reading this as “LeBron may not be back with the Lakers next year” or am I just being pessimistic?
He does represent AD too…
Lebron 100% is involved to some degree but doesn’t want it put solely on him if it doesn’t work out. Hope this isn’t a sign the front office is considering blaming him for everything
Narratives narratives narratives….thats what my beloved sport has fallen to.
It’s a fucking lie.
Horse shit 101.
I do get the speculations here with Rich protecting Bron but I am waiting how the FO would respond to this or if they would even bother.
It is either they own up the decision or they create a show by saying that Rich here is capping.
Another clue that Lebron is going back to Cleveland
Lebron will have his input but I feel like Rich Paul is right The Head Coach decision should be Cater towards AD since he is younger & might be around when Lebron retires
Lebron’s fans think that’s Lebron hate if you don’t prioritize Lebron. AD should be the focus 100%. Hiring JJ is not prioritizing AD in my opinion.
I read this as Lebron will not be back next year.
Am I being optimistic that this sounds like good chance LBJ goes back to Cleveland?
We need to rebuild around AD. Teams that invested in young talent are doing well. We can’t keep clinging to glory day stars anymore.
The East is easier and AD is injury prone. The cavs would have a trio of Mobley, Spida, Bron and other pieces. And he gets to help pick the coach. It makes sense for Lebron to go back to the cavs even though I hope he stays with the Lakers.
Bullshit.
Why would JJ even BE a candidate without LeBron’s consent/urging? He’s not a coach. Has zero connection to the FO. This is just Rich covering LeBron’s ass so when another choice of his doesn’t pan out (like Westbrook) he can say no one held a gun to their head to make said decision.
Dude is a Free Agent. Of course he has fucking sway when it comes to the next coach of the team. And when he does get JJ all the better, no one will be riding his ass to close out or do something besides stand by the scorer’s table if he’s not orchestrating the possession.
Great by Bron to not get involved.
That fraud Rob is incompetent to be the GM and has been surviving only because he was Kobe’s agent.
The one time it’s on him he has been shitting the bed to make the right hire.
Magic was ducking right about him..he will do anything to try to save his job.
Rich Paul: the voice of The Lakers
The narrative here is that they don’t want us to think this is a nepotistic hire
yes lakers have to make a decision for now and later.. would be nice to get a coach that knows how to use and build around ad.
I smell LeBullshit.
oh fucking bullshit man, just like he had nothing to do with the Russ trade right?
Y’all just eat this shit up, huh?
