what are you going to do the Indiana Pacers they lose last night by 16 so they fall into an 02 hole can they climb out out of that hole given the injury to halberton and the regression to the mean of Miles Turner we’re going to talk about that a little bit last night was just not a lot of fun to watch after that first quarter really not fun how in a world can TJ McConnell have five rebounds and Miles Turner have four how Turner plays seven more minutes last night and he’s a foot taller and somehow he winds up with one fewer rebound honest to God how is that even possible as soon as I started praising Miles Turner at the end of that Series against the Knicks I knew I was going to regret it I knew it uh if Tyrese halberton is unavailable what does that mean for the chances of the Indiana Pacers trying to win this series and what should it mean as a super max guy should Tyrese halberton play in the Olympics that’s a pretty good question we’re going to talk about the Colts offensively man this could be a juggernaut I know it’s late May and we’re getting really really excited and nothing’s going to happen that’s really meaningful for this team offensively or defensively for about three and a half months I get it but you look there are very few offenses in the NFL where I can name all of the starters and say that each of these guys is a plus level player I think I can do that with the I know I can name the starters but that all of them would be plus level guys that’s rare but it’s absolutely appropriate with the Colts and we’ll see if I’m right about that come September but I think that I am I think this could be a really really special assuming Health across the board a really really good and dynamic offense we’ll talk about that a little bit IU baseball they won yesterday against Ohio State but it was a hard watch man I watched that game on the Big 10 Network I was like wow that’s a lot of walks how can you go 02 and then walk guys with the regularity that Indiana did yesterday especially late in the game against Ohio State I I guess you don’t lose a big lead with walks but why walk people why not just throw it have people hit it trust your defense and let’s go don’t argue with winning but I’m arguing with winning because walks bother me 13 walks 13 over the last five innings the bullpen allowed 10 10 10 walks two per inning over the last five good Heavens really really hard to to watch uh Cubs they got blanked Yesterday by the Braves their offense is completely inert and I watched a little bit of Socks baseball last night I guess because my day wasn’t bad enough you know let let’s watch the ugliest sporting events we can find on television can we this is breakfast with Kent not the ugliest sporting event you’re going to watch today and I’m going to tell you about another YouTube channel that’s really pretty damn good that I was turned on to uh by a local friend who enjoys the nuts and bolts of football and there’s a really good nuts and bolts football uh video channel that spoke about specifically the Colts the Colts offensive line and Anthony Richardson they went over the tape of the Colts Rams game from last year and it was really of the Pacers are they just spent and and do they consider what they’ve done to this point already a success are they satisfied with the level of winning they’ve done in the playoffs winning two playoff series and that’s first playoff series win since 2014 now that doesn’t mean a damn thing to me what’s meaningful is continuing to win because it’s really possible for the Pacers to beat the Celtics and that’s without Tyrese halber they can come back home tomorrow night at gamebridge Fieldhouse get a win and then Monday night another win even this thing up at two that can happen and that really should happen the Celtics team is f the Pacers they’ve got the availability still even without halberton guys who can put the ball in the bucket at a level that can beat a team like the Celtics especially Cambridge Fieldhouse should Tyrese halberton playing the Olympics this a guy who’s going to cost more than $40 million next year that basketball players need rest the NBA season is long I think halberton played 67 or 68 games he rehabbed a hamstring he’s got a sore back he’s had an ankle he’s got lots of things going on should he just sit I think that he should if I’m herb Simon and I’m spending 40 plus million dollar a year for an employee to be available to my basketball team I am saying tyres hey you know what Olympics are a nice branding vehicle I know you you’ve got some patriotism you want to win a gold medal for your country sure I get it you’re not a key ingredient to this Olympic team so why don’t you sit this one out why don’t you concentrate on the upcoming Pacers season and think about 20128 when you’re going to be about 28 years old and you’re going to be in the prime of your career and you can go win a gold medal then how about that let’s talk about Miles Turner and and see if my head can explode right off my neck uh Miles Turner had four rebounds last night and eight points in 24 minutes he’s 7 feet tall he’s a $20 million a year guy TJ McConnell is 6-1 and he played 17 minutes and somehow TJ McConnell both had more points and more rebounds Than Miles Turner Miles Turner is a guy who plays kind of when the mood strikes him that’s when he gets active and figures out how to step up for his team he doesn’t do it all the time he’s making a lot of money this is his ninth NBA season all of them with the Pacers and we have seen this show before we have seen him play well and we have seen him play indifferently and in the Eastern Conference Finals you cannot play indifferently and that’s what what you got last night and that is the reason that the Pacers lost by 16 last night not the injury to TJ or to uh Tyrese halberton Turner is an indifferent player on a given night and you cannot have that you cannot win that way you cannot have a starting center who goes 8 and four in 24 minutes you just can’t he drives me crazy you can’t win a championship with Miles Turner I hate to say that because I think it’s still possible for this team to win a championship I’ll say this let me roll that back you cannot win a championship with Miles Turner playing at the level he played last night you just can’t when he plays at the level he’s capable of playing and does that consistently and in a mature way Pacers can win games Pacers can win games against a really good opponent the Celtics they’re not a really good opponent they’re a good opponent they’re not great they’re not a CH if if not for the rest of if not for the mediocrity of the NBA across the board and it’s a good thing for the NBA that there’s not a great team if not for that the the Celtics would have no chance to win a championship none whatsoever that I just like him I think Jason Tatum plays for Jason Tatum he didn’t play for the Boston Celtics he plays for himself Jaylen Brown a little bit different um and it’s not the time of year to start talking about the roster for next year so we’re not going to do that yet there’s going to be time for that time to talk about adjustments that need to be made for this team to be really really competitive and and separate itself in the Eastern Conference a little bit it’s there to happen but we’re we’re not there yet this team’s been down2 before they were down2 to the Knicks granted the Celtics are a little bit better a basketball team than the Knicks Celtics are mostly healthy Kristof support zingis not a part of the fracus so far I don’t think it matters that he would be I don’t think he gives Great Lift to this team you got enough guys who can score points um 16 turnovers last night you can’t by the way Miles Turner did lead the Pacers in turnovers last night with four and they were all in the first half what is the matter with this guy how can a center Lead You In turnovers and not lead you in rebounds where do this come from I’ll tell you what the Celtics do really really well they attack the weaknesses of the Pacers really really well if you’re weak with the basketball if you put it on the deck and you dribble it in a way that allows it to be stripped Celtics are going to strip it from you they’re going to find your weaknesses and when you uh explore those weaknesses when you utilize areas offensively where you’re weak or defensively Celtics are going to maximize their opportunities against that that’s what they do um let’s talk about the Colts a little bit Colts offense I think has a chance to be terrific there’s a YouTube channel called the o line committee that’s really really good you got Jeremiah Jeremiah siros who who played for four years in the NFL for three different teams you got Alex Boone both guys and he played for really eight years but there was a 93 played like one game uh for the Seahawks these are guys who sit with a moderator and they talk about offensive line play but they talk about other stuff too and they went over the tape from the Colts and the Rams last year they talked about Aaron Donald and how impossible it is to play against Aaron Donald but then they talked about Anthony Richardson and the way Anthony Richardson kind of shows traits of an elite level quarterback making throws that other guys simply can’t make and that uh they identified throws where if Patrick Mahomes had made it Tony Romo would say only only Patrick Mahomes could make that throw and then they looked at the offensive line and and you saw they kind of crapped on Blake Freeland a little bit but it was interesting the way they talked about the line the way they talked about quent Nelson and quent Nelson is a guy and and I can do this you know because Clint Nelson was taken six overall he is paid exorbitantly for a left guard in the National Football League but man does that guy do some Next Level things these guys pointed out it’s very very interesting I recommend it and I recommend that uh you watch the Colts offense this year because man I think it’s got chance to be really really really good all 11 starters are plus level players even will fries at Right Guard these guys can all play at a high level if Braden Smith is back healthy and if gilany Woods it can start or really will mallerie will mallerie’s got tools man you’ve got guys at all 11 spots who are really really really good hopefully they can stay healthy and that starts with Anthony Richards and let’s talk about baseball they won 14-7 over Ohio State in the Winner’s bracket of their half of the Big 10 tournament it is really kind of complicated the winners bracket stuff it determines the finalists in The Big 10 tournament but not necessarily the champion it’s it’s a weird format it’s okay don’t like just keep winning Indiana and if you’re going to keep winning you better stop walking people 13 walks yesterday my God Almighty stop walking people and you got to lead don’t do it just lay it in there let guys hit it be a galarian about all of this put the ball in a place where it can be hitting your defense can make plays don’t extend plate appearances to like six pitches every guy don’t run every count full what do you out of your mind people want to watch you play I know you won we don’t argue with winning I get it Cubs shut out yesterday by the Braves 3 nothing what are you going to do they can’t score runs they are a flawed team that’s what they are Anthony Richardson going to be a true uh uh superstar in the NFL if he stays healthy I think
