Yeah, it’s frustrating. Maybe Rick will give Jarace more of a chance when he doesn’t have the “rookie” label attached, but it’s pretty much a lost cause for this year.

Funny I just had a little debate with someone in another thread about why Rick doesn’t play Jarace. I argued Rick plays favorites and young players don’t often make his favorites list. He argued that Rick doesn’t play Jarace because Jarace doesn’t play defense and isn’t up to speed offensively.

That argument feels all the more silly when Doug consistently gets into games before Jarace. What the hell does Doug do on either side of the court to ever deserve mins? Doug is the poster child of Rick playing favorites lol

Ya we just wasted a year of valuable experience. Think of what this playoff run did for Haliburton imagine if he did not have that, well imagine triple or quadruple taking that away and that’s what happened to Walker, and Doug getting minutes before him is an absolute travesty HOWEVER in this particular instance it does make sense because Sheppard can’t buy a 3, so getting a look at Doug to take that role away makes some sense. But he did it when Shep was balling out too so it’s not all well thought out. I haven’t been this excited about a Pacer pick since PG so I was just crushed at how they did Walker.

  3. Walker is probably the guy who could guard Brown as well as anyone but he’s not developed enough. But they need to try to find time if Tyrese can’t go

Doug gets minutes because he’s a solid shooting option off the ball. He doesn’t stop moving similar to curry off the ball. I’m not comparing his skill to curry’s I’m just saying Doug runs around like a a mad man off ball causing chaos for the defense and sometimes his catch and shoot 3 is solid.

I think we only drafted Walker as a project Incase we didn’t land the pascal trade or OG trade. We’ve been targeting those guys for a while and taking Walker that draft was best case scenario if we didn’t get a solid role player in trade or FA.
