    > “Who knows,” he (Silver) told TMZ while walking into Thursday’s White House state dinner. “We’re all still talking. Who knows how it’s gonna work out.”

    > “We’re never gonna lose Charles and Kenny,” he said. “They’re always going to be covering the NBA… I can’t imagine those guys [on ‘Inside the NBA’] won’t be performing and announcing together in the future, and we all love them.”

    This gives me no hope.

Nothing new here. Basically a restatement of “It’s not over until the fat lady sings”.

If Adam Silver saves Inside the NBA, he is GOATED.

The thing with Inside the NBA that makes it so great isn’t just the personalities on screen and their chemistry. Sure, that’s a big part of it, but a lot of it is the format and how it’s presented.

Hypothetically, if ESPN and TNT swapped on screen panels, and Ernie and Co were on ESPN’s studio show and Malika Andrews, SAS, etc. were on Inside the NBA, Inside the NBA would probably be worse than it is now, and ESPN’s show would probably be better. But on that same token, Malika, SAS, Wilbon etc. would be far more tolerable and pleasant to watch on Inside the NBA than they currently are on ESPN. And Ernie, Barkley, etc. would be far less fun and entertaining to watch and listen to on ESPN than they currently are on Inside the NBA.

Gosh I hope draymond fuckhead stays around he really makes that team

  6. rabdoforlife

If it does die, then they should just do a Sharkley Cast like the manning cast with the Inside the NBA Crew

    >Silver partially shot down this notion, asserting that at least two of the show’s mainstays would not be going anywhere.

    >”We’re never gonna lose Charles and Kenny,” he said. “They’re always going to be covering the NBA… I can’t imagine those guys [on ‘Inside the NBA’] won’t be performing and announcing together in the future, and we all love them.”

Alright but then it wouldn’t be Inside the NBA. It’s the dynamic of the **four** guys as a whole. Kenny wasn’t good when he did stuff on NBATV. Shaq isn’t good when he’s on Inside with the B team. Inside sucks when Ernie isn’t hosting (Lefkoe is the worst). Charles has proven he isn’t that entertaining outside of their dynamic (look at his recent short lived CNN show).

Plus Inside is great because of the segments and staff hijinks. A lot of that goes away if it’s gone. NBC isn’t going to have a lighthearted postgame show that goes until 1am.

This is Silver saying “oh well Charles and Kenny will be on our NBC coverage!” I guarantee the NBA/NBC are offering deals to Charles, Kenny and Shaq just to be like “see we still have Inside!” but it’ll wind up being a panel of Kenny, Magic Johnson, Draymond and a random guy from NBC sports.

  8. I’d be shocked if that show doesn’t continue in some capacity. Whether they just all get new contracts to do an NBC reboot (Ernie getting permission to do it on the side), or Barkley reboots it with his production company, or NBC just hires TNT to produce the show for them, or it just becomes a streaming exclusive on Amazon, YouTube or Peacock… or an ongoing video podcast with the same crew… I dunno, but the show has a dedicated fanbase and there’s money to be made for everyone. Contracts will be worked out. They’ll come out of it with higher viewership than ever.

Ok but what about Ernie? EJ is Inside the NBA. Until we get confirmation that all four guys are staying together (and their behind the scenes crew), we’re not going to be alleviated.

Nobody wants to watch Chuck, Kenny, and Shaq with Maria Taylor, Mike Tirico, or Adam Lefkoe

If D. Green is going to be a part of it, it’s as good as dead.

I do think that Warner Bros. Discovery is going to match the offer from Amazon. I’m not exactly sure the NBA would take them to court and expect to win. They have TNT, TruTV, and TBS along with Max which is distributed internationally. Just reading the articles which seem like the NBA and WBD leaking to the media that WBD feels strongly they’ll be able to match Amazon.

  12. thinlion01

TNT has the right to match. but they probably wont.

  13. StoneColdAM

If the Inside crew is contracted to TNT, I don’t see any scenario they leave unless a new network buys out their deals, and I don’t see that happening in this age of cost cutting

I don’t understand why the NBA doesn’t do everything possible to keep the 4 together. Shaq, Ernie, Kenny and Chuck are all amazing together. I hate watching game reports and shit, but I will go out of my way to watch these guys give good info, their honest opinion and have some good laughs. If Adam is at all smart and actually does care about the viewing problems with the NBA he’ll do what he can to make something happen I hope.

  15. pianistafj

TNT told Silver they didn’t need the NBA full on knowing inside the nba and Kevin Harlan are massive products. Threaten to pull out. Renegotiate. ??? Profit.

  16. DrixxYBoat

I think the general consensus is that whoever picks up the rights will most likely be able to get Shaq, Kenny, and prolly Charles on board.

There’s 2 issues with this that out of touch Silver cannot see

    A. TNT Production is nostalgic. A different set and a new way of doing stuff is going to suckkk.

    B. Any true fan knows that Ernie is the most important cast mate of the show by far. I’m not even exaggerating.

This is like expecting a world renowned orchestra to play without their conductor.

Ernie isn’t ever leaving Turner, so yeah, our ass is grass.

  17. King-Mansa-Musa

Imma b honest that sounds like a throwaway line but I would like for the show to continue with Ernie, Shaq, Kenny, and Chuck

  18. BigtimeSendit

It’s already dead to me because they keep forcing draymond on us.

  19. Alexcox95

I could forgive Silver for all of his mistakes if he somehow saves Inside the NBA.

  20. raylan_givens6

    Axe Disney/ESPN/ABC – they’re corny af

    Keep TNT

    Get NBC

    keep the fans happy

  21. thedirtypickle50

If Draymond is gonna be on there it’s dead to me anyway

  22. Doesn’t deserve to be on if Draymond is a part of it.

  23. alabastergrim

If Draymond is on the show, please just axe it and do everyone a favor

If not, please keep it alive
