Jaylen Brown on Pacers: They “Turned into F—-g Michael Jordan” | Celtics Game 3 Postgame Interview

grit that’s all it was grit staying with it um and that allowed us to get back into the game how big was Drew in the end reason me on that floor on that end Drew is different nothing really else to say drew is just different mention that throughout the game Joe was kind of doing whatever it took to kind of motivate you guys like what did that look like from your perspective um yeah we tried every adjustment in the world you know trying to slow him down but got to give credit to Indiana man they came out and they ball those guys played with so much Pace um they didn’t miss a lot of shots they put a lot of pressure on us you know they played fast um and it was tough um the first three quarters like we didn’t really have any answers but we kind of stayed close enough kind of stayed with it close enough and then in the fourth quarter they finally slowed down we was able to get some stops and we pull one another the hat and what what has kind of fli the Su success in clutch time so far in the playoffs like three and0 and just executing very well on that I’m just being a team you know I think that’s what it is like um we’ve been a a team that stayed together um we we’ve emphasized our game plan I think we’ve been well coached you know we got some guys who got a lot of experience and we just stayed with it I think that’s what allowed us to have success and it’s tough to do no matter who you playing um but I think that that’s what allowed us to help us win this game we just had an amazing level of grit today and um Indiana played a hell of a game what were you guys saying to each other in the Huddle and get so close and then just can get over the just stay with it um just stay with it um um Indiana were playing we thought they were just lights out tonight their Pace everything was just was just tough the first three quarters we couldn’t figure it out man they were playing with so much pace and and speed and they weren’t missing shots and and those guys were playing Amazing um but in the fourth quarter we just stayed close enough and then we um the tie turn you know they started slowing down we started making shots they came back down the life a little bit and we was able to pull the rabbit out the hat but know sh out to Indiana you’ve sounded super virgent throughout the playoffs um you’ve been down even after some wins like we need to play better than that now you’re one wi away from the finals like how how much pressure are you putting on yourself with this opportunity how are you viewing this opportunity how are you trying to approach him I think Indiana played well I I mean we can say that we we didn’t play as well tonight I felt like they just you have to be out there to kind of feel it man they was just flying around um and then they were shooting the ball well some of those guys turned into Michael Jordan or whatever and we was like man what is going on like you know we couldn’t figure it out um but in the fourth quarter we just stayed close enough we were just just stayed right there um we just kept with kept saying they going to let us back in the game they going to let us back in the game we stayed between 12 13 14 points Striking Distance and in the fourth quarter we made some big time plays Jason Jason Tatum made some big time plays that pass behind the back to the corner ow hang it in the L like it was crazy like we just had a great great grit win tonight but the the urgency that you’re taking to this run and kind of the entire approach that you’re taking how how how are you valuing this opportunity and how do you want to kind of take advantage of it just can’t take your foot off the gas we’ve been in that position before where you get comfortable um and you just value every win it’s hard to win in the playoffs no matter who you play and we just value one game at a time you know whatever it takes one game at a time play like a team win like a team lose like a team and tonight we just stayed with it um and now we’re one game away from getting back to the finals so now we just got to close them out you mentioned a little bit about their shooting Jen obviously they’re hitting a lot of mid-range shots which you guys are comfortable with but beyond that in terms of them getting the rim and stuff are there things you’ve noticed you guys can clean up or do differently to make life a little bit harder on them inside the yard yeah um definitely um I think we can they they dribble Drive action uh we got a guarded a little bit better um and we’ll look at it on film to see how we can slow him down um but that’s what they just went to just Pace dribble Drive um and they and they they executed that well um tonight those guys made a a ton of baskets ton of shots they were feeling great at home you know the crowd was into it you know they haven’t lost a game at home up until this point so that was a great win for us thank you Jay

INDIANAPOLIS — The Celtics secured a 114-111 victory at Indiana with two crucial free throws on Saturday night, taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference finals. After overcoming an 18-point deficit in the second half, the Celtics are now just one win away from their second NBA Finals appearance in three years, with a chance to clinch it on Monday in Indiana. Jaylen Brown remarked on the Pacers’ performance tonight: “Some of those guys turned into fucking Michael Jordan or whatever.”

  1. As a Celtics fan, what I love most about this clip is how after the Pacers final shot missed, instead of celebrating, Jaylen Brown and Derrick White immediately got to talking about how Nesmith got open. Take a look at that clip again. Its awesome.

Thats a team that has its eyes on the prize. They weren't going nuts celebrating. They were saying 'yoooo how did he get that good a look? Thats on us.'

  2. Nembhard was insane. I'm tired of role players having career nights against them, but glad they pulled this one off

  3. Now we get Porzingis back and have a deeper bench w more scoring overall. Everything is coming together! The Celtics are gonna do this shit! Let’s go Cs!

  4. This interview is the icing on the cake for tonight's win. Good job boys! Get some rest and let's close it on Monday. Have a great weekend, Celtics nation.

  5. The subtle flex here is that the Celtics might actually win against a team of Jordans. Of course, how could one question that claim when we have the Celtics legend Luke Kornet on our side?

  6. you rarely see a team where everybody is so efficient at midrange shots… like when will they cool down lol

  7. We are gonna be fine baby ! Bring the Mavs on ! Lets take them in four so we can rest a bit . Im 65 I need Rest too , or I'll have a heart attack before they get their rings LMAO

  8. I thought all NBA players can ball & make shots…….. (can turn into Jordan for once in their lifetime)………Pacers' problem is their D. They are not well coached & honed in hedge & return & gave up many points when double teaming.

  9. A league veteran allready. Indiana remind me boston 2/3 years ago. The only lack I see is of experience. Very well coached, good talent and deep roster, but lacking playoff high stages expiriences. They down 3 0 and, and as boston fan it feels kinda unfair.

  10. Seems to have been happening alot where Miami, Cavs, even the bench Lakers in regular season have these outlier can’t miss games that bring defeat or close. How about tightening the defense

  11. Nobody has trashed Brown more than me but he's been better this year and better in the playoffs. In previous years I felt he hurt the team as much as he helped it but these last few months he's played better team ball and helped them win some games. If Porzingis comes back right the Celtics should get number 18.

  12. Celtics fan here you see how the other players unlock their true games when your star player is hurt speaking on the pacers it happens to alot of teams 💯

  13. Kg said the exact same thing in a Celtics postgame interview some years back. If I remember correctly they had just lost to the thunder. Durant got some favorable calls down the stretch and kg was pissed. lol.

  14. Players turn into all NBA when they play the celtics lol Tj and Nemhard dont even avg 10 a game and dropped like 30 last night thats wild

  15. I’m glad Brown acknowledged the Pacers effort and gave them some respect. Even if the Celtics sweep us, i guarantee the Celtics did not think those were easy wins. I love my Pacers but I know how good the Celtics are. And I equally respect them as a team. No way am I comfortable with an 18 pt lead with more than a half of the game left to play. We are very streaky when it comes to scoring at times and our defense is terrible, but we’re young and hopefully we learn a lot from this playoff experience.

  16. Watching this series is like playing an offline my career game on hof. Don’t matter how good the Celtics contest is %50? Sure it’ll still go in. I be contesting shots like 50+ percent in that game they stumble bcuz it’s a great contest but it still goes in. I hate the offline cpu

  17. I love how Jaylen keeps the interview to THIS PARTICULAR GAME. He's locked in correct. I want to see the Celtics and the Mavericks in the finals, that would be an epic matchup. Of course I'm a knick fan, so I'm still kind of hurt, lol, but these are teams with likeable and incredibly talented players. Easy to root for both of them. All four teams left are fun to watch.

  18. That was the Pacers team that went on a scoring blitz in game 7 vs the Knicks. But now the Pacers are getting a taste of trying to win without a starter or two (Knicks/Bucks)… it's difficult. Boston should've blown them out without Haliburton and hopefully they'll have a different approach next game…SWEEP!

  19. this has been a great run so far…. I only missed one game all season, Ive seen how this team responds, so i'm always knowing we are gonna find a way to win even when playing bad

  20. I have been a Celtics fan since a little boy in Brooklyn in 1960. One of the joys of following this team is its long time pedigree of intelligent classy players. Russell. Bird. And now Horford, Brown, Tatum, White, Holiday. Listening to Brown talk about social justice or ballin,' he is just an honest thoughtful bloke. Love this guy. That MJ line is awesome. Well timed spontaneous humor. But the humility to say, we were like WTF. But they stayed with it. And they won. I'm also a Chiefs fan. Both teams much maligned (why are you not winning every game by 20 points?). But they win.

  21. It's clear to see that they are tired of being content with just reaching a conference finals they want to reach the ultimate top and they are locked in

  22. JB has been balling this year & definitely wants to win his first ring. Every year He improves his game on both sides of the ball & it shows. A quiet 24 point game & we completed the comeback on the road☘️☘️☘️
