we got three head coach openings in the NBA the Lakers fired Darin ham after losing in five games to the nuggets in the first round LeBron has until June 29th to decide on his $51 million player option which would be the final year of his current deal the Cavaliers they let go of JB bicker Staff last week despite winning 99 games the last two seasons Donovan Mitchell is eligible for a four-year extension worth over 200 million this summer or he can opt out of his contract after the 2024 2025 season and the Wizards West Huna Jr as head coach in January last season promoting Brian Keefe to interim coach Washington managed to win just 15 games last year second viewest in the NBA the Wizards haven’t finished over 500 since 2017 okay Stephen A which one of these head coaching positions do you feel like is the most desirable well naturally I’m going to say the latest but let me get this out of the way first what in the hell are the Washington Wizards even doing in this question I mean the nation’s capital is a Cess pool for so many reasons the basketball team would be one of them I don’t even know why they’re a part of this you understand I’m saying I mean I mean y y you walk in the DC the people there are obviously phenomenal we wish the politicians were better and we damn sure wish the basketball team was better so let’s get that out the way just throw them out throw them out with the bath water now we get to Cleveland and La well Cleveland listen Donovan Mitchell is there Darius gin is there uh m is there I get it I understand it I personally I know that Donovan Mitchell W reported Donovan V is very very happy Cleveland wants to stay there I I listen I’m not questioning the accuracy of the report I’m not questioning that Donovan Mitchell is saying that to people I’m just saying I don’t believe it I believe that if Donovan Mitchell could get someplace like a major market like a New York La I think that’s what he would prefer you look at La the Lakers are the Lakers y’all it’s town it’s the purple and gold it’s the place where Kobe and Shaq and Kareem and magic and worth and all of this other stuff you’re head coach and you succeed in La You Got It Made You Got It Made and I think when you fantasize about it from that standpoint and you look at the fact that even at the age of 40 approaching the age of 40 approaching this 22nd season LeBron James is still great and Anthony Davis is still one of the great players I look at that and I say the Lakers the best job ah I I I I got to disagree with you on that one okay I got I got to disagree with you on that one I’m looking at the Lakers and over the past couple years since Phil Jackson left the coaches only average two three years in that chair so you ain’t got much time A lot of times it take you a year just to clean up your locker room now you saying now you saying obviously if if you’re coaching for that purple and gold you got it made but Frank vogle a got it made and he won a championship didn’t he didn’t he win the championship there CH the they got Frank up out of there the next year they got Frank up out of that the next year so I would say no for the Lakers just because you don’t have much time there they they on the running clock especially with Braun only signing probably another two-year deal so now you’re saying you probably got two years to get that Championship now when you talk about Cleveland I don’t want no parts of that until I understand what Donovan Mitchell gonna do he’s say he happy there but he ain’t sign that extension so I’m calling cap if you happy sign an extension so we as a front office can say hey we got Donovan Mitchell locked in this is what we gonna look like the next couple years this is the plan we trying to put together to win a championship you can use that in free agency but if Donovan Mitchell ain’t signing that extension you can’t go to nobody talking about oh in two three years this is what the team gonna look like this is what we want to do unfortunately it brings me to Washington and I can’t believe I’m saying this I can’t believe I’m saying this chocolate City I can’t I can’t believe I’m saying City but if I look if if I look around I say this is an opportunity that you can build through the draft this is opportunity where you can move some pieces you still Havey kman you still have pieces you can move maybe this is a situation where you can walk in and you have a little bit of flexibility and a little bit of time to put something together that can actually help you win in the future as opposed to walking in a situation in La where you’re only going to probably have two years with LeBron and as opposed to walking in a situation with the Cals where you don’t know if you gonna have your Superstar oh and by the way there’s Rumblings that maybe darus Garland and Donovan Mitchell don’t play that well together how do we know how that chemistry works so with those things being said I just look at watch and I say that’s just a chance for me to go in with a clean slate and start from scratch he definitely standing you definitely standing he’s definitely standing Al I don’t know what’s wrong with you d right now I don’t know what’s wrong with you hey you you try to be a coach sound like you politic I’m just being smart I got you I got you go ahead shance to get your family out there in LA take the Cleveland I’m going to take the Cleveland situation first it’s being reported that if Donovan Mitchell signs that extension Rich Paul is going to ask Darius Garden to be traded okay now with that being said Donovan Mitchell Evan Moy Jared Allen I’m sure people are not too pleased with Jared Allen because he he didn’t play yeah so I’m a little I’m a little I’m I’m not sold on that situation okay Washington no no no great place for comedians wer sag Dave earthquake if you want comedian let not forget cat How Could You Forget cat William what’s up all the things being said I don’t think any of these are good options but I will say just the Lakers just for Prestige I already know do you I agree with everything you said about the Lakers I know it’s a matter of a matter of time before they roll me on up out of there but at least I get to say I was the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers even if I hey got some got some time in Southern California Nation even like Luther vrose if only for one night I was head coach to the Lakers you only going to get two you know you only going to get two years that’s all you going to get you going to get two years all I know is this though you know what you can sit up there tell like somebody saying you know what it’s going to be tough you go to South Beach you know what Pat Raleigh is there and it’s going to be tough there’s a standed guess what it’s South Beach it’s Miami I’ll get over it I’m rolling I’m please lers over just don’t PR just don’t prti you take the Lakers but I don’t want any either one of either no no one of those jobs neither none of those jobs that’s a toss up maybe that’s LeBron has had nine different head coaches in his 21 Seasons coming up on man about to be 10 one
