The Boston Celtics advance to the NBA Finals for the 23rd time in their franchise history as they defeat the Indiana Pacers, 105-102, in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Jaylen Brown (29 points, 6 rebounds) and Jayson Tatum (26 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists) combined for 55 points for the Celtics, while Derrick White added 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and a career-high 5 steals in the victory, along with the go-ahead three-pointer to give the Celtics the lead 45 seconds remaining in regulation. Andrew Nembhard tallied 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 10 assists for the Pacers in the losing effort. The Celtics win the best-of-seven series, 4-0, and will face the winner of the DAL-MIN series in the NBA Finals on 6/6 (ABC).
Jaylen Brown won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP.

Here's why the Boston Celtics' 2024 playoffs run to the finals don't count.
1. The reason why is because in the first round, the Celtics beat an injured Miami Heat team without Jimmy Butler, Terry Rozier, Jaime Jazques Jr., Kevin Love, and Josh Richardson, who is Miami's best perimeter defender and bench scorer.
2. Because in the second round against the Cleveland Cavaliers, they beat an injured Cleveland team without their best player, I mean superstar, Donovan Mitchell egi missed game tree, four, and five, and also Cleveland's center who was their best defender in the paint, shot blocker, and rebounder, Jerred Allen.
3. And now, the other reason is because the Celtics just beat an injured Indiana Pacers team without their two best players, Tyrese Haliburton who missed game tree and four, and also they didn't had Mathurin who is their best scorer besides Haliburton and Siakam, off the bench too. The 2024 Celtics easily had the easiest playoffs run to the Finals in NBA history since Jorbum's weak competition in the 90s in the weak east with the Bull's superteam. Wow. I've never commented about traveling before, but that Jaylen Brown one at 8:36 was nuts. He stopped his dribble, then planted two feet, THEN took a further step for the layup. That one was not "too quick to catch" or anything.
Rick Carlisle really shit the bed this series in coaching.He had a good enough team to make an upset on the Celtics but you couldn't even coach them to one win.He basically got fired in Dallas bcuz Luka didn't like him so goin back to the Finals and beating them would've been a sweet revenge
