row and we know that closeout game is always the hardest game in any series and we just have to weather the storm and continue to play Championship level basketball it’s nice to be able to say we’ve been in this position before now that we’re finally up had nuggets in the Timberwolves last night uhoh it looks like it’s over poti for everybody’s next Michael Jordan it’s a rap it’s a rap it’s a WAP I mean listen when you come for the king you bet not miss that’s exactly what happened with the Timberwolves they they missed their window to Dethrone the reigning defending world champions and the guy that just got backtack MVP they missed their opportunity Nicole yic is the best player in the world and he showed it last night in dominant fashion yeah I think at this point you kind of have to do what Anthony Edwards did after the game and just laugh at joic and how dominant he is when he puts on a performance like he did last night he’s absolutely Unstoppable and I agree as much as I love ant as much as I love this Minnesota Timberwolves team when you go up 20 on the Denver Nuggets like CC said you better make sure you close that door and they left it open and joic and the Denver Nuggets have kicked it wide open and I think they’re walking through it to the next round 11297 Denver wins last night over Minnesota game six is Thursday yic had 40 points 13 assists I think my new favorite player Aaron Gordon I think I’ve decided he’s my new favorite player in the NBA why I just think he does everything that I love about a like with players like what do you need me to do whatever role you need to play I will play that he plays point guard he plays center he plays power forward he guards whoever he’s as selfless as could be he credits joic for everything I love this guy 18 points 10 rebounds five assists Jamal Marie had 16 and no Connelly for Minnesota you know CCE you love this Minnesota team and kind of what they have become and specifically Ant-Man and you were early on it and you’re right about it whether we could sit here and bicker about the MJ comparison all we want that has nothing to do with whether or not ant-man’s great CU we know he’s great and we know he has a great chance to become a face of the league but you’ve also pointed out you have said you think Mike connley junior is as much of a key to this team as anybody else because the veteran presence the ball handling and the organization of the offense and defense for that matter he doesn’t play last night because of injury which puts the ball more so in ant-man’s hand as a point guard Denver’s double teaming I think 34 different plays they double double teamed Anthony Edwards last night he only had 18 points he was five of 15 from the floor one of five from three and had one field goal in the first half which is a credit to Denver but if you’re going to play without your point guard last night if you’re Minnesota that is a major problem and we saw it obviously with a 15-point loss yeah and this is not to despar Nel Alexander Walker because I thought he came in and he made some shots but in terms of organizing the offense at half court sets when they’re taking away Anthony Edwards that was a problematic that was an issue I mean Ant-Man faced 29 double teams and 22 blitzes on Anthony Edwards last night I mean you’re talking about blitzing them trapping him it disrupted the time and the rhythm of the offense especially in in that second quarter early when you had those three offensive fouls I think it was Jaden McDaniels and then Carl Anthony towns and Nas Reed all got offensive fouls on consecutive possessions and that kind of threw them out of a rhythm in terms of having answers for the double team the traps that they were throwing at Anthony Edwards and then of course once we got that thing into the third quarter it was the Nicole nicolei show I mean you’re talking about that dude dropping 16 points and that’s really when they put the their their their foot on the throttle when it came to being able to create some separation between the t- wolves and and and Denver I I thought that as that game wore on you saw that Championship DNA come from the Nuggets you saw them stay more poised you saw them stay more in control I mean there was a moment in the second half where you got Rudy Gober barking at Kyle Anderson about who’s going to guard nicoa yic I mean under the circumstance is when you got a four-time defensive player of the year that shouldn’t even be a conversation but because joic was cooking gobear so bad I I could understand why gobear would want to try something different I mean it was an absolute clinic in terms of what joic was doing from the footwork from the playmaking it’s not often when you see a guy go off for 40 points have 13 assists and have zero turnovers but that’s exactly what you got from the reigning defending MVP it feels like since he got that MVP award last week he’s turned on the Jets in a different way I know that jic doesn’t showcase that he cares in the same way that some of these other players do but it feels like he was listening to us talk about Anthony Edwards and anointing him as the next Michael Jordan and after he got that mvp last week he was like okay let me remind you of who I am I’m going to take control of this thing you guys are um talking so much about the Timberwolves you’re saying that we’re done I’m going to remind you who I am since he got the MVP award last last Wednesday and those three wins for the Nuggets yit has averaged 33 points 9.7 assists 9.3 rebounds he shot 61% from the field he’s good he’s been ridiculous just because you act like you don’t care about something doesn’t mean you actually don’t care about something that’s exactly my point and Anthony Edwards by the way to be fair early on in his NBA well it’s still early on in his NBA career upon arrival when he was drafted acted like he didn’t care about basketball and a lot of us believe like oh man this guy doesn’t focus on the game he doesn’t care that much well that’s laughable cuz we know he cares so I think just because you act that way doesn’t mean that you actually are that way but as we look back at this this series and really maybe the entirety of the postseason and maybe the entirety of the NBA season in general the fact that the NBA did not suspend Jamal Murray for game three of this series after throwing the heating p had on to the court may be the Turning Point moment of the entire NBA season because two things happened one that was in between games two and three where the Nuggets were down 2 and they had more time off they had an extra day than normal in that and they also had no suspension just a fine for Jamal Murray so he had a chance to get healthy they had a chance to regroup he didn’t get suspended he plays in game three they win games three and four they make adjustments around Aaron Gordon playing point guard a little bit and obviously going more to y and yic dominating the four time and I’m doing air quotes even though he did the four-time defensive player of the year Rudy goar who’s clearly not the best defensive player in the NBA I’m sorry it’s ridiculous I mean he’s just he’s just he’s not even the best defensive player on his own team I mean let’s let’s be real I’m this is so annoying because it’s one of these things where like okay so he Alters shots agreed he blocks shots agreed he’s taller than everybody yes but in the modern day NBA the best defensive players are the ones who can guard multiple positions we can’t say position list on offense and then not also say positionist on defense because the best defenders are the ones that are positionist on defense Rudy goar sure as hell CCE ain’t positionist on defense no he can’t even guard his own position last night no and and the guy that really is the Lynch pin is Anthony Ed he’s the one that sets the tone remember the first two games of this series how he had the clamps on Jamal Murray like like like being able to guard one through three and being able to uh you know prevent teams from being able to get in their half court sets is is is problematic for the opposition when they’re going up against the different nuggets there’s a reason why this team was the number one team in all in all of basketball on defense and it wasn’t just about Rudy goar it’s also about Anthony Edwards now somebody I thought played well last night for the t- Wolves Carl Anthony towns like like he pulled a no show in games at three and four and maybe it’s too little too late in game five because you missed your window but I thought towns played well I mean not just the 23 points but how good he was against Nicole yic in the possessions where he was the primary defender on joic the Denver Nuggets went 5- 18 from the field joic was one of five from the field and Denver had five turnovers now against Rudy goar it was something completely different uh obviously it was 13 to 27 from the field for the nuggets and then you’re talking about Nicole yic going eight and N from the field and only having one turnover so that was the difference so I I I thought that Carl Anthony towns would have been better suited to try to to to to throw off nicoa yic in the rhy rhythm of the Denver Nuggets but they didn’t do that I also thought it was a missed opportunity early on last night when Aaron Gordon gets into that foul trouble for the Minnesota Timberwolves to open up a big lead and they didn’t do that they couldn’t separate from Denver when Aaron Gordon was off the floor which was the majority of the first quarter because he got those two quick fouls so again we talked about the missed opportunities for Minnesota in this series but they also had missed opportunities early on last night first quarter early on in the second quarter to me that was the difference in last night’s game but it’s ultimately going to be the difference in this series and based on what I saw from nicoa yic last night the Denver Nuggets are going to repeat as Champs they are going to repeat as champ there’s nobody that’s going to beat this team in the seven game series it ain’t gonna happen if if it wasn’t going to be Minnesota it’s not going to happen from any team in the west and how in the hell can you have confidence in anybody in the East based on what we saw last night from yic guys 40 points 13 assists seven rebounds no turnovers there is no answer for nicolea yic he is a cheat code he is an offense unto himself there’s a reason why he was able to win the chip last year and not have another All-Star caliber player alongside him this dude is special and I don’t think we’re going to fully appreciate what we’re seeing from him over the course of the last three or four years until this guy has hung him up and he’s retired I don’t think we’ll appreciate the span that nicolea Yin has been able to put together from Individual greatness and how that correlates to team success until nicoa yic is done playing basketball CeCe where did you have him in the top 15 I forgot was he he was outside looking he was outside looking in but he’s making a push yeah if he gets a second title with three MVPs and another Finals MVP he’s going to be right in there and back to back and back to back he’s making a push I know you you were praising Carl Anthony town so maybe today is not not the day for me to bring the trade machine into it cuz I had one KD for cat who says no just throwing that out there kind of makes sense for both teams I don’t know if Kevin Durant I don’t know if I want to bring Kevin Durant there to disrup what cat got going on I mean to disrupt with uh Ant-Man goty going on I I just don’t know if that’s the way to go they need offense don’t get me wrong they need offense but they also need the dynamic in that locker room to be right because this is a young ascending player and the last thing you want to do is bring in somebody that always has drama follow him wherever he goes for whatever reason but don’t worry I’m not going to bring that to the table today I won’t bring that trade machine to the table today hypothetical trade machine we’ll never do such a thing at all in any way shape or form one one thing I will say F because you did bring up the Jamal Murray of it all yeah the NBA got some explaining to do yeah they got some explaining to do because Rudy gobear was fed at after game four $75,000 for doing that money gesture now if you go back to game two Jamal Murray did the money gesture to the referee you know intimating that the call was about you know the game being fixed or whatever but then he also threw a towel on the court and he threw a heat pack on the court so you mean to tell me that goar gets finded $75,000 for the money gesture Jamal Murray does the money gesture in game two then he throws a towel at the ref then he throws a heat pack on the court and gets fir 100 Grand so you mean to tell me the towel and the heat pack is only worth $25,000 MH I I don’t get that part of it now NBA got some splending to do now I was one of the people that said I would much rather this thing be decided on the court than by suspension from the league office I’m glad it’s playing out the way that it’s playing out but when you come down with a $75,000 fine on Rudy goar for doing that money gesture how do you explain not suspending Murray after what he did in game two turning point of the Season as I said I think looking back as I agree I think the Nuggets going to go back to back it’s a turning point of the Season not getting suspended having the extra day of rest for him to get healthy and to be available to play in game three against Minnesota the turning point of the entire NBA season is that moment right there all right that was one of two NBA games last night the e B done spe trust is luxury we can’t afford blood this is for crossing the resistance
