Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown must NAVIGATE power dynamic to be successful – JWill 🏆 | Get Up
in the wings of course the Celtics who are to say well rested is going to be the understatement of the century they clinched on Monday they were led by Jaylen Brown who hoisted the Larry Bird trophy after being named the Conference Finals MVP here he was on winning that award I wasn’t expecting that at all you know I’ll never win so um I was just happy that we won um and give credit to Indiana you know they they played us tough I know like people think that Indiana wasn’t a good team or whatever the case mean I mean I thought they was tough as anybody we’ve played all season um they were physical they were fast they put a lot of pressure on us so shout out to them and respect to them okay so it certainly looked as though Jaylen Brown was surprised to win that award and he said it’s CU I never win anything and I think a lot of people were surprised and there was a lot of chatter online yesterday to whatever degree this is important and relevant about Jason Tatum’s reaction when Jaylen Brown wins that award in the moment that happens the the the rest of the team just goes crazy and you were you were talking about it in our meeting earlier this morning they all were so genuinely look at them they’re all so genuinely excited for him and you did what you did not seem to think that it was mirrored in Jason tat I think Jason was just shocked I think he played well down the stretch he led him and rebounding it was something that you wouldn’t expect him to do you think that a big man would take care of that but I think Jason tat was shocked I think the last couple games he was the best player but the series was turned around with that shot that Jaylen Brown made made no mistake about it and if we go back to everything that has happened he has been the most consistent Celtics in the playoffs so far yeah look I mean the Wendy Jaylen Brown was not on any of the all NBA teams this year and Jason Tatum finished on First Team all NBA which is an interesting Dynamic among two players who are a lot more equal than your traditional Batman and Robin usually are and so that Dynamic is always going to be an interesting one to follow yeah and two of his teammates Derek uh Derek white and uh and Drew holiday made the all defensive team and Jaylen thought he should have been on all defensive team so while things were going well in this series he was a little bit hurting that he wasn’t recognized by the awards from the media and look this was an extremely close vote it was nine there’s nine voters who decide the MVPs of these series it went 54 uh J Brown to patum so it wasn’t a huge difference there but obviously you could tell that there’s a that there’s a little bit of a thing that I think jayen felt a little bit of a chips on his shoulder not with animus to his teammate but with animus towards the voters who didn’t give him proper credit and look I’ll give him this if you look at their statistics from the All-Star Game on they arguably have been just equally as effective in fact Jaylen has shot the ball a little better than Tatum Tatum’s going to rebound the ball a little bit more and Brown’s going to handle the ball a little bit more that’s the way they play but I will say that Tatum is an incredible position he averaged 30 points 10 rebounds and five assists in this series that is nothing to sneeze at he is going to have have a great opportunity with home corn advantage in the finals to make his Mark and really recover from what was a a bit of a let down at the end of the 22 uh finals which he’s still in some ways recovering from from a reputation standpoint yeah you’ve talked about the summer of Tatum which he could easily have he could win a championship he could be named the finals MVP he’s going to get the biggest contract in NBA history and know by the way he may add a gold medal to that over the course of this summer as well but that dynamic between the two look they’ve done it great no one here was suggesting there between the two of them but it is not an easy Dynamic to walk we we’ve seen it historically just look at the relationship between Michael Jordan and Scotty Pippen today and there are a lot of other dynamics that have gone into that over the decades but it is not an easy thing to keep together well it’s not an easy thing to keep together because I think when the media looks into every single detail which we do which people naturally do like we were talking about this the other day the first thing you look at is when Jaylen Brown holds his trophy up my eyes go to where is Jason Tatum these are the two Bon ifed leaders of this team are they together on the same page but when you feel that pressure from the outside I don’t care what anybody says UD that naturally trickles into relationships and you have to deal with that one E1 like it’s if you do and I have an issue like not an issue it’s being a manufacturer issue then all a sudden you and I have to deal with it and that takes constant communication that’s challenging you live through a good illustration of this when when LeBron James first came to Miami you were there that was Dwayne Wade’s team it was Dwayne Wade’s City he had won a championship he had been a Finals MVP there what did you witness between the two of them many many mo ago greeny many many mo ago but I witnessed Dwayne way who was the best player on our team and the best player in history at that time go to LeBron James and say hey this your team you need to be your best version I will figure it out and immediately you can see a weight just lifted off LeBron James shoulders his mind was clear he was able to play free and everybody else was able to figured out and D Wayne’s a hell of a basketball player so for him to go to LeBron and say that let talks about sacrifice and we talk about that when Luka had Kyrie come in and those guys bring in another guy you got to be willing to sacrifice and step to the side and understand that he’s there for the betterment of you and that team it’s a great example and I I think these two players who first of all from what I’ve heard from people in Boston they’ve actually gotten along a lot better this year than they have in the past they almost know the two of them know we’ve got to win a championship like we got to figure this out out of all the superstars that we’ve seen together in UD you gave that great example of LeBron James and and dwade like that’s dwade acknowledging that LeBron James like you are that right I don’t think we’ve ever seen two superstars so close and so similar and skill set ever right where it’s like you don’t sometimes you don’t know who’s 1A like you start questioning really who’s 1A and that’s natural tension that exists between people I don’t care tatm like a singular Talent Brown is the force multiplier behind the scenes whereas Tatum is not that and I think that’s the difference in the two of them well and and to your point UD D like that that was LeBron coming to Dwayne Wade’s team I remember A-Rod coming to Derek Jeter’s team and A-Rod moved to Third Base when candidly he was the best shortstop that had ever lived a million years ago I remember Moses Malone coming to Philadelphia in 83 and saying this is still doc team even though clearly and Moses with the MVP that year and they won the championship these things are not always easy but look they figured it out to the tune of 64 wins this year and and now they’re four win very quick kind of reminds me of the KD Stephen Curry Klay Thompson everybody made it such a thing about whose team it is the MVPs like they have to learn how to navigate that world in order for them to be successful they win championships guess what win and cures everything win and cures everything well it didn’t cure it in the case of Golden State [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]

Oh god. Now it’s time to make these two turn on each other. The people can’t find anything to talk about. This show is a waste of time.
Stop this BS. PERIOD
I mean he looks happy for Jaylen to me
What power dynamic do they need to navigate? This is absolutely ridiculous. ESPN is garbage! You dudes are just trying to tear the Celtics team apart with your B.S. Tatum and Brown pull for each other and support each other. For them to win the championship, both have to play well. Stop the negative B.S.
ESPN oughta be ashamed of the way they cover the Celtics. The clickbait headlines and manufactured drama is corny. Instead of embracing one of the best teams we’ve ever seen they stoop to this?!
Nobody outside the media thinks they have issues and need to separate
Idk if higher ups telling yall to talk about this, but yall starting to sound like TMZ🙄 tryna be messy JT and JB r boys n they always happy for each other
Why do yall try to create enemies within the same roster. It's sickening
They both got their money, I doubt there is any strain on their relationship as long as they are winning.
Are you blind?? Jason was happy for brown as you just highlighted i hate you pundits putting two brothers against each other on the same team.. literally have nothing to talk about so you make up narratives!!!!!!!!
It’s going to be a LONG wait for the finals to start.
What even is this? Tatum looked just as happy as the rest of the team. Tatum also already has an ECF MVP I doubt he’s upset
This is the most non story of all non stories like they are reading into something that doesn’t exist. Can i get paid to just yap on live tv??
Jaylen Brown > Jason Tatum.
This has to be one of the dumbest segments I’ve ever seen from ESPN. Talk about reaching…
Just stop.
They got nothing else to talk about
They want the Celtics to lose in the finals so they trying to create controversy between the two stars Brown & Tatum
absolutely shameful by espn
yall love pushing this false narrative
yeah the guy that just averaged 30 10 and 6 is mad that his best friend and teammate just won his first ecf mvp after advancing to the nba finals👍
Another senseless topic to on ESPN.
Alright man, why is UD even allowed to talk about the celtics. Reaching at how JT feels? This show losing all credibility immediately
Porzingis finals MVP!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
Yall STILL trying to break them up? ESPN yall need to step it up
They tried to do this before they made the finals the first time they don’t have chemistry issues…
