I’m not buying Rondo as an NBA head coach, assistant maybe. Scott Brooks and Sam Cassell don’t move the needle enough for me. While Ham wasn’t perfect, hiring a marginal “upgrade” isn’t ideal. I rather take a risk.
I would love Rondo back. Dudley too. bring back 2020.
If they are going to go with JJ it would be a waste to NOT have Rondo as an assistant. This would be a great way for him to get legit experience.
I don’t know if I love Scott Brooks as the “experienced guy” on the staff.
If JJ is the coach I hope he realizes his podcast will be impacted quite a lot because he can’t talk about any players or coaches.
Sounds like they want JJ as head Coach with Borrego as lead assistant and one of Dudley or Rondo as a former player on the staff.
If we are hiring JJ as the head coach then it’s good to surround him with experienced minds

Why would Sam Cassell take an assistant job when he already has one? Also it’s gotta eat at him to be an assistant for over a decade under a head coach with no experience.

Rondo is such a tough sell for me because if he’s on our coaching staff, people around him need to make sure he doesn’t wild out like he seems to be prone to. Even the slightest possibility of him fucking up a check getting in trouble in his personal life would the team’s worst nightmare, let alone what his family would have to go through again.

Out of the former head coaches I have heard as potential assisants Stotts, Borrego, Brooks I would hire Brooks. Out of Cassell, Dudley, Rondo I would prefer Cassell.
Out of everyone, I want Rondo the most. He’ll be great for the guards.
