we were grooving as the kids say Let’s Groove on to the uh NBA draft prospect of the day for the Kings number 13 jacobe Walter shooting guard Baylor this is the name that seems to uh be associated with the Kings as much or more as any other name it makes sense uh the two and the three are seen as the uh again depending on where you’re put in Keegan Murray but uh the two and the three or if you want to call it the two and the four that would be herder spot that would be uh um Harrison barnes’s spot seem to be the two places when you consider the fact that fox and Keegan and sabonis are the three most uh known Untouchables or at least difficult to touchable on the teams uh on the team then uh that gives you room at the two or the three or the four because you can move Keegan uh what is jacobe Walter Walter as a player his strengths he is a good shooter he can score in bunches could be in if Malik monk were to leave he’s very quick and has a lot of overall potential he is only 19 years old weaknesses ball handling and passing are at a lower level for him compared to his shooting ability uh may just be a two guard in other words may not be a guy who can slide around and would he be repetitive for the Kings especially if monk came back I think that’s a u that’s a good problem to have obviously if monk did come back and that’s one of the reasons you kind of hope uh they’ll have have all that figured out uh before the draft comes around now during the break Kyle I as you go through the different mock drafts uh and uh let me know where we are as far as the mock draft goes I’ll be curious as to the updates as to who they have the kings taking all right so I am on tanon first tanon yes my favorite tanon has the Kings at number 13 selecting jacobe Walter okay yep that makes sense that’s the uh that seems to be the one they get the most talk about all right moving on we have CBS their Mock Draft today at 13 has the king selecting jacobe Walter jacobe Walter they seem to be zeroing in on that a little bit okay moving on uh ESPN was behind a pay wall couldn’t access that let me see if I uh Bleacher Report Bleacher Report released today as the king selecting Devin Carter Devin Carter interesting um the last one the ringer has the Kings Kevin o Conor Sacramento’s favorite selecting Devin Carter interesting okay so Devin Carter two for Devin Carter two for jacobe Walter and I will use my ESPN subscription to get us to ESPN’s updated mock draft and that would be jacobe Walter breaking the tie with Devin Carter uh it says all the things that we uh we already said here now 19 years old would go against type for Monty McNair uh let me see where they have Devin Carter ESPN has Devin Carter going 16th in case you’re wondering about the breakdown of Devin Carter uh similar to jacobe Walter in the sense that uh he is also listed as he’s actually a onew uh combo uh whereas was Walter’s list is a 23 but as the note said might just actually be a two now Devin Carter that’s a little bit more uh what the type would be 22 years old here’s what they say about Devin Carter the blend of experience athletic tools defensive motor and high level intangibles Carter brings figures to hold strong appeal to playoff caliber teams in this range of the draft Carter tested quite well at the combine fared well in fouron four drills electing to play and showcase his competitiveness which likely helped further his case the Sixers who they have them going to at 16 are in a position to grab whichever Prospect Falls to them here outside the lottery but creating some short-term value is likely imperative as Philly pushes to improve the team around Joel mbid I find two things I I’ll give you the Carmichael Dave mock draft here number one I find it unlikely that they would grab a backourt guy now if they lose Malik monk that’s going to change a little bit but even without Malik monk you have a backourt of Davon Mitchell dearen Fox Kevin herder uh uh Keon Ellis uh Davon I think I already said Davon Mitchell like you have a couple of defensive specialists in there and Davon and Keon uh and then you have obviously Fox and herder not that they couldn’t use it but I would say this I think if they were to go positionist and just grab best player available it would be a situation like Tyrese Halbert well they didn’t need Tyrese Halbert they had a point guard but Halton fell all the way to them at 12 or 13 I think it was 12 and you had to draft him now if somebody falls out and it’s just obvious like I don’t know who let me see let me see who who who would be in name let’s say uh let’s say uh Nicole atopic he’s a point guard uh project go top five top six uh let’s say Rob Dillingham in Kentucky who’s projected to go right around three or four he’s a point guard uh Reed Shepard also Kentucky um if if one of those guys were to fall then yeah I they they I think they go best player available but if none of that happens then I I I think they’re more likely to draft a wing but I will reiterate again I would be not shocked but surprised if the kings use this pick I I I really think in the end they’re gonna package this pick there’s a number of different ways they could go I I think the the most obvious and likely one would be a Barnes And number 13 to Washington for Kyle kosma although uh Denny what the hell Den Denny Avia Adia thank you I had it for a while and then I forgot it that would be a dream and there’s a few others as we talked about before this is the soda the summer of distressed assets there are a lot of distressed assets out there and they’ve got a pretty full War chest to be able to handle that we’ll take a break when we come back who’s hot
