Garrett Bush tyus Powell Jason Lloyd plus da da da you’re loving him Mikey McNuggets and so many big names it would take me hours to say all of their names the ultimate Cleveland sport show starts now booya welcome everybody to the ultimate Cleveland sport show it is Thursday along with Jason Lloyd and Earl the Pearl I’m Adam the bull behind the glass we’ve got Jason we’ve got Jason we’ve got Mike we’ve got Anthony and we got Steve I got everybody’s name confused in my head right now we got a lot to get to but we’re talking Guardians who actually lost their first series in forever and it was to the awful Rockies what happened there we’ll get to that plus a little uh uh fence Riders when it comes to the Guardians we’re talking trades with the Cavs we’re talking new coach with the Cavs and one member of this panel thinks it could be a very long time before the Cavs get a new head coach and of course we’ll get to the Browns as well is there anybody under more pressure this season than deshun Watson what’s up guys what’s going on what’s up man it’s been it’s been a it’s been a hell of a 12 15 hours but I’m here Earl’s got a lot going on in his life oh I know my wife’s at of town I’m a bachelor oh so see he’s the opposite of you you’ve got a lot you’ve got nothing but stress in your life right now he’s got nothing but freedom in his life right now you feel good know I still got to get the kids out I’m now picturing uh and this is unfair because he has kids but I’m basically picturing uh Jason’s house like the movie uh what was the first Tom Cruz movie where he’s like in high school he gets all the hookers at the house what the hell was that called I can’t think of uh risky business that was Tom Cruz I said Tom Cruz oh did I think said Tom I think I oh maybe I did but I think I meant Tom Cruz but I think I said Tom Cruz I’m thinking of like a ad dope version of Project X that’s what his house looks like I did say Tom Cruz Project X uh is that the one with uh like when the kids do this crazy ass like house party I did not see based on a true story out of Australia I don’t think I saw that movie good movie but anyway Miles Teller I think is the the big star in that well it wasn’t anything close to that I uh I shouldn’t I shouldn’t say Jason’s having hookers in Dallas I’m kidding took AJ to his hitting lesson took AA babysitting took AJ the youth group like it was a very lowkey night like I show did a c show I was basically just playing Uber driver yesterday than anything and then we got a game tonight and tomorrow all right and AIS got her formal tomorrow her for what is that a dance dance yeah they all they got so many different dances now for these kids like every grade first one that’s a big This is BS winning lit leag games too yeah yeah uh after being on the hot seat for two years we never had you know my fir your ass a long time ago you know it well it’s a new team I’ve been moved from Team to team but uh uh this the hottest my team’s ever first of all it’s very different you know this as the kids get older you know the first two years Aaron was in the third grade and the fourth grade and so I was coaching the third and fourth grade division the first two years now I’m now he’s in the fifth grade I’m coaching the fifth and sixth grade division it’s a huge difference oh yeah I mean the third and fourth grade games it’s like walk walk walk you know wild pitch wild pitch wild pitch in this grade it’s way different my my uh kids last night we we played a whole six0 you got you can’t start an inning after an hour and 20 minutes so in the miners the games would go four Innings but sometimes they only go three yeah uh in the majors we’ve played um I’ve played seven games so far on my team we’ve played five five ining games we one only went four because it was a weird game and there was a rain delay so we we we lost some time but last night we played a full six Innings and uh my two pitchers I had one kid start go four and the last kid came in for two combined in a little leag game six Innings only 94 pitches wow that’s really good my starter went 74 no uh starter went 70 and I pulled him and my my closer for the game yeah two innings retired all six 24 pitches in a Lally game so’s what’s great about this age that fifth sixth some kids are starting to go through puberty oh yeah and some kids aren’t even close so you’ve got like some that are like six feet tall and you’ve got some that are seven years from shaving yeah I got what’s funny is one of the oldest kids on my team kid named Henry who’s a real character he he must be like 48 yeah and got my two best players Nick Castro and and lucco bricky they’re both like they’re both my height you know I mean and and this kid Nick who’s a really good hitter I think he’s batting like 800 or 850 yeah he hit the furthest home run I’d ever seen at the field but he hit it he pulled it foul yesterday he so at the Rocky River L field you guys have been well it’s not the field we’ve played on it’s the other field and then so there’s the field it’s pretty decent size and then there’s like a a a driveway and then there’s a building behind it he hit one on the roof for that building behind it it was it was crushed but he pulled it foul but uh anyway yes we had a really good game we played a very good team we beat them nine to three so we’ve outscored our opponents 2610 last three games so what are they talking coach of the year are they talking contct extension you know listen there’s a lot of Buzz about it I’m not although we’re not we’re half game out of first okay uh water bear marketing is 5-2 and then my team which is Kim crane realy we’re 42 and one so we’re half game back a long way to go in the regular season tell you is don’t end up on the wrong side of an article in the athletic I can’t have that I can’t have that if your players turn on you I will find out that’s true and I will write all about it there’s no doubt Jason I did see when we went to the lit leag game last year to shoot bow I did see a couple crows circling above I just didn’t think anything of it but now it’s starting to piece together now now we’re loving life that’s right we’re loving life you got any kids that don’t take a shot I’m gonna find out I have kids probably that don’t think a shower but uh you know but saying lco you know he’s focused on his football career you know they not sure if he all in no I can’t kid Luke is a hockey player so there’s no football for him so I don’t got to worry about that but he’s he’s a hockey player I do have some kids to play football that extension is imminent that’s all I tell you that cont go Rocky River Little League it’s imminent K CR real T I want a threeyear extension Mike let’s get the GM on the show uh yeah we got to get the GM with Kim Kim crane on here to talk about Bull’s performance that should be a great interview because I doubt she has any idea I don’t know well her she has uh I think two kids that play in the league neither are on my team but uh she sponsors a team that neither of her kids play for uh it just worked out that way yeah but uh I think she has two kids if you win the if you win the championship bowl oh God we have to have a parade through the parking lot oh my God if we throw a championship parade through the kyc parking lot and we’ll we’ll make those plans as you get closer as we know right now both still not in first place so let’s not let’s not give him too many flowers yet it’s a second place coach we’re talking about here and we know what Cleveland does to Second Place coaches all right let’s get into our first topic of the day it is winner take all time in the NBA and NHL and FanDuel is giving you yes you a shot to bring home a big win of your own right now new customers get $150 in bonus Bets with any winning $5 bet that’s 150 bucks to bet on spreads money lines player props and more just visit fanduel.com ucss and make every playoff shot count FanDuel America’s number one sports book and as always we continue to show you guys winning FanDuel tickets that get sent into us and today’s winning ticket comes from at Legend 10 villain this one’s crazy and Legend 10 villain turned $1 into $519.99 on a multi-part baseball parlay and the best way I can explain this because I only see half the ticket is it’s at at least eight games with a first inning result of a tie so we bet that after the first inning at least eight games would have the same score after the first inning a tie yeah and it all hit and somehow when you parlay eight of those together you turn $1 into $520 I mean that’s a great return on your money I I know it’s eight games or whatever that you have to hit but the reality is that probably I mean Jason would you say that I would say that maybe 60% I don’t know I’m just guessing off top of my head here but I would guess more than 50% of baseball games are tied after the first inning right probably yeah you so it’s still hard to hit eight because you could all you have to do is Miss one but uh I kind of like that that’s that’s a smart thing all it was was a tie game on eight games after the first inning apparently he only sent in it couldn’t see the top of the ticket so maybe there were some other things I would think there’ have to be other things that’s not going to H you 500 to one yeah but it’s eight games only yeah but still right yeah but but each one’s almost even odds I mean each one was likeus 120 there’s got be something else yeah not for a dollar he was probably showing you the win right right right so at Fair Point all right each one is even money by the way I I so I believe I hit my parlay on on Tuesday that I or uh Tuesday that I put out for everybody even though the I said mentioned yesterday the Tigers got rained out but they made up the game yesterday so I believe as long as it’s within 20 24 hours it counts so I had the I had Tyler glass now and TK scoble both with over seven and a half strikeouts and the Dodgers and the Tigers winning and they and that happened so hopefully you bet money with me on that I put out there Tuesday and and we’re all Victorious all right we’re going to the go ahead M oh we’re starting with DeShaun Watson we are and let me set this up because this came to me when I was on a bike ride this weekend I was looking for a podcast listen to and I found a podcast from the NFL ringer show which is from the ringers Network they have a bunch of their football writers and the headline of the podcast was which players SL coaches are under the most pressure heading into 2024 and I was like oh that’s an interesting topic my initial thought was deshun Watson has to be on that list and then I went through and listened and to my surprise deshun Watson was not on that list so my question for you guys is is there any player under more pressure than Deshawn Watson this year or was I way off in thinking when I saw that initial headline the answer is probably Deshawn tell us who they had on the list if that you can remember yeah they went through they did nine people I don’t remember all nine yeah but the big ones and they each had like a first round pick a second round pick third round pick uh Dak Prescott Trevor Lawrence and Aaron Rogers were the three big big ones then they went to some GMS and some other random coaches and stuff but the three quarterbacks yeah Trevor Lawrence Dak Prescott Aaron Rogers so guys before we dive into Watson let’s see how like in a way he compares to the three guys that were picked at the top Aaron roders is coming off uh a season where he missed the entire year due to injury he’s played five snaps for the Jets he’s done an incredible amount of talking since going to the Jets he’s 40 years old and we don’t know what he’s got left in the tank he’s made a ton of money he’s got a Super Bowl right Dak Prescott has made a ton of money yeah he is looking for a new cont contct but he just signed a new contract a few years ago he’s been a very good quarterback in the regular season but he’s kind of fallen on his face in the postseason Trevor Lawrence is different than those two guys he he I mean I he’s he’s made plenty of money for a normal human but he hasn’t gotten the football he hasn’t made a crazy amount of money uh compared to the other quarterbacks he was highly thought of Highly touted as much as any quarterback coming out of college he’s I would say been a been a disappointment since coming into the NFL i’ say I think he’s had one pretty good year and two not good years uh and so he’s looking to get that big contract so all three of those guys are different and I would say none of them are really in the same boat as DeShaun Watson I guess the one Watson would be closest to is Aaron Rogers because he goes to a new team but Aaron Rogers had you know Aaron Rogers Legacy is set in the NFL no matter what happens here whereas deshun Watson we don’t know you know 10 years from now what’s Des how how’s Des Watson going to be thought of is he going to be thought of as a guy who looked great for three or was it four years in Houston and then flamed out got in trouble and never did anything or is he going to be a guy that had that that flamed out for a couple of years and then bounced back and was great again we don’t know yet that yet Jason so I don’t know you know how you feel like he fits in I think I I think I love how Mike’s brain works most of the time and like I think you guys are really going to love this NBA NFL quarterback thing you’re going to do tomorrow we did he he mentioned I I thought he I thought he nailed it I think he’s nuts on this one okay there’s no pressure on deshun Watson like man’s got $230 million guaranteed in the bank if he never takes another snap in the NFL how is there press you know who there’s pressure on Isaac relle that’s who’s got pressure on him and guys like that but that’s I get what you’re say that’s where the pressure is guys who are like hanging on to their careers and they don’t know where their next team is and they don’t know if they’re going to make a roster and they don’t know if they’re going to make a check that who’s got pressure on him and I mean it ain’t to Sean now if you want to talk like Trevor I can buy because he doesn’t have that contract like like the generational contract he doesn’t have that yet I don’t think Aaron Rogers I don’t think Aaron Rogers feeling any pressure at all if he goes out there and Flames out okay so he’ll go into government or he’ll go into politics or he’ll you know he didn’t care he didn’t care or go into a conspiracy theory podcast yeah I mean he’ll go in his dark cave for another week so I I don’t think there’s pressure on him Dak I think there’s there’s always a certain amount of something that comes with being the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys I think that’s legit yeah uh but but I don’t see it for Deshawn at all I I just I just don’t see it I mean to me I think Dak is under the most pressure I think when you allude to you’re the franchise quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys that in itself comes with a lot of pressure especially when you’re a guy that continues to put up big numbers during the regular season but you kind of flame out during the playoffs when the team needs you the most and unlike deshun Watson unlike you know Trevor Lawrence and Aaron Rogers for the most part DX’s been fully healthy and so there’s something to be said there’s an Asis attached to desan Watson due to health and not being available well you’ve been available and you’ve not performed at your highest when your team needed you the most and so I think for a guy like that he faces the most pressure simply because of the organization that he plays for he has been available and he hasn’t come through when the team really really need him do the most I what’s interesting about the question is the use of the language I guess to some degree Jason ultimately the first thing you said Is Right guys that are battling for roster spots those guys are facing real life pressure none of these d none of these are really none of these guys are really facing pressure they’re all set including Trevor Lawrence are set for life yes they’re never going to have to worry about a meal as long as they’re don’t completely blow their money never going to have to worry about a meal getting health care for their kids food you know none of that they’re all set but I I guess and and I think too often in the media we use pressure the wrong wayc because first of all internally who we don’t know who’s putting pressure on them is Deshawn waty putting pressure on himself is Dak Prescott is Trevor Lawrence I don’t know what they can only speak to themselves and they probably wouldn’t even be honest if they spoke for themselves uh I I think that the better question more than who’s got the most pressure it it’s almost I I think the question is almost like who’s got the most to prove you know what I mean like it’s not about pressure because the money set yeah but to me that discussion is really should you shouldn’t say pressure it’s who’s got the most approve that’s what you’re really looking at this year because you could argue that you think about the three guys they mentioned Aaron Rodgers Dak Prescott Trevor Lawrence they all have something to prove this year in different ways we as I said before Aaron Rogers career Legacy is set but he’s still got something to prove this year this year it it 10 years from now it probably won’t matter what he did this year but right now this year he’s got something to prove certainly Trevor Lawrence does because he’s looked like a I’m not definitely not going to say a bust but he’s been a a big disappointment in his first three years and dak’s got to prove Dak is as good as almost any quarterback in the regular season consistently but he has flamed out in the playoffs in a big way and he’s got to prove that he can win a playoff game well deshun Watson had if you if you asked that then I would put deshun Watson number one for that question because deshun Watson has to prove he’s still a Frontline quarterback in the NFL because if it doesn’t happen this year to me it’s over I I I don’t think there’s if he struggles through another season where he’s hurt or he doesn’t play and he looks like the same guy we’ve seen for the last few years to me it’s over I can’t go into next year saying oh now you’re five years later all of a sudden he’s going to turn turn around no to me this is the last chance for Desh Watson to turn around now if he does I can buy that he’s still going to be good for eight more years right but if it doesn’t happen this year I think it’s over none of those other guys are facing that type of proven to me right if Dak has the same year he’s had in the past somebody’s still going to pay him maybe not as much as he wants maybe it won’t be the Cowboys but Dak Prescott is basically Kirk Cousins right they’re the same guy he’s a good NFL quarterback very good NFL back back end the top 10 or 12 you don’t know if you can win in the playoffs with him yeah and and so you know Kirt cousins keeps getting paid and I would argue dak’s probably a a hair better than Kurt Cousins at least in my opinion but uh uh you know and Trevor Lawrence even if he has a mediocre season somebody’s going to pay him he’s not becoming a backup next year he has too much pedigree pedigree and he showed enough in his second season that some team will say the Jaguars don’t know what the hell they’re doing we’ll get the best out of this guy and Aaron Rogers like I said lot to prove this year but after this year who cares DeShaun Watson of all the the names that matter has the most to prove in the NFL so I’m kind of changing your question Mike but in with that no it’s it’s a valid counter to the name of the podcast because I think and you I recommend the Pod it was actually a pretty interesting podcast it’s about an hour long wasn’t anything crazy I think when they say pressure they’re talking about pressure from the fans sure pressure from the media you know yes that’s but in terms of real pressure in their lives deshan has none yeah he’s got $260 million and he had already been paid before so that means by the end of this contract he’s going to have what $300 million as long as he’s been somewhat good with his money even even if he’s been slightly bad with his money he should still be set for life do you guys agree with B’s point on that I know he changed the question a tiny bit but if it was a who is the most approve is that where the shon’s at number one or someone else still no if you want to yeah I I I think I can get a little bit more behind that phrasing of and even then I I I would even probably argue still it’s Trevor Lawrence because he’s got that contract in front of him still he hasn’t signed it yet so who’s got the most to prove it’s probably Trevor Lawrence because he’s trying to get the gener Mone sure but I but I know I don’t think we’ve nailed down the verbiage exactly but I know where you’re going I think we’re getting closer there is a category somewhere where Deshawn is number one right we I just don’t know that we’ve necessarily nailed it exactly uh but yeah I’m with you on the it’s this it’s now or never it’s this year or it’s not happening we we joked on the call and I don’t know if Mike’s going to do this next week or not but like people are people are clinging to the second half of Baltimore like it’s air in their lungs right because there’s nothing else with in this time with the Browns it’s kind of amusing how much this is turned into like well did you see the second half of Baltimore like it’s no Browns fans don’t care about anything else that happened before that they don’t care about any any bad performance it was the second half against Baltimore and they are clinging to it like it’s oxygen in their lungs I mean I mean perfect time to turn to Earl for me I I can get what the he has the most appr prove because I feel like when all things is equal what all quarterbacks said maybe outside of Aaron Rogers in his prime Deshawn Watson is better than all these dudes like at his ceiling outside of Aaron Rogers he’s better than everybody else that we’re talking about and so I think I would agree with that I think that going out there to prove that that player is is still inside there yeah I can get behind that before you walked in Jason me and boy was sitting here watching a highlight of the playoff game in Houston versus Buffalo where he made that big play and overtime Escape both both Defenders got the playoff huge player or whatever we watch the play itself we watch the body Lang body language we watch the swag the energy all of that right that’s what he has to prove is still there right you prove that player is still there that dude that can make big plays and Big Time moments and lead your team to Victory like I would put him at the front of that category simply for the simple fact that to whom much is given much is required Deshawn Watson at his Peak is better than all those dudes so if you put it like that yeah and then the last slot of that Montage that was the year before that was Baltimore the year before last year desan had a pretty damn good game in that game as well against Baltimore I get what everybody is saying like people can be clinging on to the second half of Baltimore but there’s been more games outside of just that second half to where he’s shown it it’s been few far in between but we’ve only seen 11 total games so yeah it’s really like it’s it’s always part of the problem that’s part of the problem problem yeah b game the Baltimore game Earl just mentioned uh he was 18 of 28 for 161 yards and one touchdown yeah I can’t get excited about that like they they won they won 133 I I I’m not going to get excited about games we we the Browns moved on from Baker and went to Deshawn because they said we have a a decent quarterback but we need a great quarterback they didn’t move on for Baker to Deshawn to say we have a decent quarterback now we have a decent quarterback there would be no point in doing that cor so I don’t want to hear and and I don’t want to hear about games where he threw for 160 yards and completed 18 passes Baker Mayfield could do that fine uh I in my opinion there’s nothing Deshawn there’s nothing Deshawn has done here on a positive standpoint that Baker couldn’t have done I think we had in my opinion back and everybody knows how I feel about Baker I’m not a big fan looking back over over the course of this 10 years as the Cleveland Browns quarterback I could put myself as at the front of line of somebody that had false expectations I thought this dude was going to serve his six game suspension and hit the ground running and you know I’ve never played football at the highest level I think I didn’t take into account of being away from the game that long how that has that type of impact on your mechanics the mental reps Etc and then everything that he went through off the football field like I I mentioned this a little bit yesterday I think sometimes we have a Time clock on how long we expect somebody to go through something get over it and then move on but in reality like none of that type of stuff happens on our time it just happens when it happens and so just looking back over his tenure you got those two aspects of it you know the time off the field you know and the one year you know he stepped off the field voluntarily yeah it’s not like he was suspended by the NFL it’s not like the Houston Texans told him he couldn’t play he made the choice on his own that hey I’m not playing this season okay yeah so like all that whatever and then you got the injury you know nobody projected the injuries it’s just unfortunate that it’s been all these different variables to where 3 years in we still got an incomplete grade on him if he stays healthy this year hopefully we can get a real good you know idea of what we got at cour well I wonder if he regrets sitting out that last year in Houston because I do too it would it wouldn’t have been as much time off we’ll never know but uh last thing before we move on you said that at his best he’s better than Dak and Trevor Lawrence which obviously he’s better than Trevor he I would agree he’s probably a little better than Dak at his best I I I agree with that but right now forget money if I could trade deshaan for Dak I would do it without even thinking about it for a second I wouldn’t because you trading essentially for a regular season quarterback if your ultimate goal Deshawn Watson we don’t know that he’s a playoff quarterback either we don’t know that so you’re trading another unknown variable for unknown varable I know but I but I know that Deshawn I know that Dak has been great and season for the last three years hasn’t been true but if the ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl like you just made the argument I didn’t get rid of Baker to get another mediocre quarterback but I don’t think Dak Prescott’s mediocre I think Dak Prescott better than Baker I don’t know if Dak Dak Prescott has what it takes to win you a Super Bowl just like we don’t know that but but I know it doesn’t matter like now we’re at this situation where all right who’s the best quarterback who would give me the best chance to win a Super Bowl and I don’t know know that Dak can win a Super Bowl but if you ask me right now who gives me a better chance to win a Super Bowl Dak or Deshawn I think it’s Dak and it’s not close I think I think it’s hard I don’t even know how you can even make an argument for right now I I I don’t even know if I’m making an argument for desan I’m more so making an argument that if that came here he got a loaded roster in Dallas this is a loaded roster here who’s to say that he wouldn’t ball out in the regular season here get to the playoffs flame out of you how do he been has he been that bad in the playoffs like what are his stats in the playoff his Playoff stats in seven playoff games he has a 91.8 QB rating he’s thrown for 1,962 yards 14 touchdowns seven interceptions yeah those aren’t bad numbers now I you know I don’t remember granted against like Green Bay this year they were down like 28 nothing I think and then a lot of that was yeah all right I mean I but the numbers aren’t bad we could say that it’s not like he’s been bad in the playoffs I mean he just hasn’t what’s his record there two and five uh loss yeah two and five Jason I I if you could trade Deshawn for deak right now for get the money even trade let’s say you’re paying them whatever in fact desa’s making more than deak I think but let’s say they were making the same amount of money what would you do I’d take deck right it’s like is it close for you no I I I I think Browns and like you get an affinity for your yeah I get it I get it and but I think if you if if Deshawn was on the Cardinals right and went through everything the last couple we asked this question nobody would take the shot you know that you know that you come on Earl you know that hey Earl’s love desan since Clemson I get it I get but mik I I got proof of me being okay with the Browns dropping the ball with all the quarterbacks who had never won a game literally I remember telling my cousin I’m cool that the Browns win zero games because you can draft desan wat all right uh I assume you’re with us on Dak I don’t like Dak but right now just with the uncertainty over the last three years with DeShawn I think you have to but I I’m not a Dak fan I person like that I’m that’s my that’s my huge fan of Dak but let’s be honest even if deshun Watson’s best and dak’s best Deshawn wat isn’t that much better than dak’s best oh I I disagree with that all right that’s f i i I would say desam was better everybody they everybody at they pee I think the only player that’s better than him as Aaron Rogers as far as the players being mentioned oh the players being mentioned sure yes uh I think a more interesting question is that is uh Deshawn for Trevor Lawrence and I think I would still trade for Trevor Lawrence if you get out from under the contract like are you taking contracts or saying the money conts well you got to pay Trevor Lawrence anyway so yeah I I uh that’s a that’s a probably after this year you’re right Mike Trevor Lawrence or or Deshawn assume the money is basically the same because Jason you essentially saying is you pretty much trading for the same damn thing somebody who can’t stay on the field well Trevor Lawrence has he has hurt no he’s been healthy he just hasn’t been what everyone thought he was going to be he’s just not been that good except for I mean he was good his second year one Clemson quarterback for another which Clemson quarterback you got give I’m I’m taking desan I I just think like I I honestly believe that desan is in a better space mentally and I I there’s no way you could know that I don’t know that that’s why that’s why I say I phrased it the way I did I believe I don’t know that to be fact I believe that he is right I think we all hope not but if he is and is and if he’s healthy then I think we’ll see the deshun Watson that we seen the dude is young enough he still has the athleticism and he still knows ball I think he there yeah I I I hope you’re right and I know you know every time we have a conversation like you’re a hater you’re I’m not a hater I want Des Sean to be great I’ve just seen it now I’ve just seen now where he hasn’t been great since 2020 and I’m getting nervous that it’s not going to happen again and so if I could get Dak Prescott to me I mean the Browns would do that in a second if they can make that trade deck yeah yeah I mean they wouldn’t even think about it for two seconds I don’t think so oh they wouldn’t you really think the Browns wouldn’t make that trade I know how you feel yeah I’m being honest I don’t think so Mike if the Cowboys called the Browns and offered that trade how many seconds before the Andrew Barry said yes I’m going to do an an read all right let’s talk about game time real quick guys there is no better place to buy tickets to an upcoming Browns game to a Guardians game think the age difference is between Watson and Dak probably between one or two years I thought it was more than that it’s two years yeah I don’t know why I thought I thought Dak was like 5 years old older didn’t he yeah Dak Dak uh turns 31 before the season and Deshawn turns 29 before the season so I don’t know anyway go ahead Mike we’ll do fence riders in a sec but I want to spend five minutes on the Guardians Rocky series finale yesterday Logan Allen a disappointing performance to say the least he gave up six runs in two innings or less than two innings and that is now three straight subpar starting pitching performances for the Guardians against the Rockies is it just cor field just a flip on the radar is there any going to be concerned I know we’ve talked about the pitching staff in general yeah and our concerns about that for the entire season but was this kind of the uh nail on the coffin that the guards have to make a I I don’t really have any major I I mean we’ve said all along they need to add a starting pitcher and we’ve talked about a few guys by the way the first guy I mentioned when we first started in April talking about the Guardians need to trade for a pitcher I mentioned Jesus lazardo with the Marlins remember that I was the first guy I mentioned and they’re terrible and he got off to a bad start this year if you look at his numbers so he got off to a bad start I don’t know how many starts it was three four starts and then he got hurt and he missed a couple of weeks I think he since he’s come back he’s made at least three if not four or five starts I I bet he’s got an erra under two maybe under one since he’s come off the injured list he’s been phenomenal back to the pitcher we’ve seen the last few years he’s allowed five earned runs in 25 innings for a 175 ra there you go 175 ER since coming back back off the iil he’s been absolutely lights out pitching on that god- awful team so that is the that you know I mentioned Kikuchi last week and I like him but Jesus lazardo I believe has three years of Team control left yeah that would be a perfect guy for them now you’re given up a lot giving up a lot a lot more than we’ve talked about for bashet that’s right all that but you have to give up a lot but he’s your Ace yeah you know now hope hopefully Gavin Williams or whatever I mean if you had a starting three if they’re healthy potentially of losardo Gavin Williams and BBY that’s a dangerous one two three in the playoffs for the next couple of years and you’d have it for at least three years those guys you know something I thought of yesterday that I hadn’t thought of this name before it’s not the Lardo category yeah but it will help them immensely and get through this year Luis srino with the Mets on a one-year deal manageable 13 million he’s having a decent year they’re not going anywhere that makes a lot of sense and you would have would not have to give up nearly no he’s not as good as Ardo but he had that he has the losardo upside he hasn’t he hasn’t pitched at that level in a couple of years he’s still pretty young I actually like that a lot it would give you cost you a top 20 25 Prospect in your system yeah you can trade one good Prospect not an elite Prospect and uh and it fits financially yes $13 million contract I think it is for this year and you’re get that yeah so I I don’t want to steal Zack misel Thunder but I was talking to Zach yesterday we missed a guy on Toronto it’s not Kikuchi it’s gsman how many years he got left I think two and Toronto would have to eat some of the money on it yeah listen I would take I know bios’s contract is huge but I would take any of their top four stars Basset Kikuchi Gosman or BOS buros doesn’t work financially but I’d love the Guardians to get any of those four guys Gosman and bashet again it’s going to cost you a package that’s going to cost you a mint but but what it would do to this Fran come on I mean the guardian if the Guardians went crazy let’s say go crazy and they traded and got Gman and bashet then made a separate trade I don’t think they’re doing all that and got well say if they made the separate trade now I can’t do losardo because I’ve already given up too much I get srino also yeah srino is very doable If he if I if he was my fourth starter in the playoffs if if I had a four of gsman Williams BBY and srino as my four in the honestly SEO is probably number two on that list what whatever order he’s been more veteran what kid whatever order you want to put him in those are four potentially number one number two starters and then you got the best bull one of the best bullpens if not the best Bullpen definitely the best closer yeah and you got a short stop to go which is their biggest weak spot on the offense man in terms of this series the pitching was awful it is Kors so I don’t want to read too much into it however as Mike pointed out before the show Kors hasn’t been Kors this year I I do think it’s part of that is cuz the Rockies are an absolutely awful team maybe the worst team in baseball uh and their lineup absolutely stinks but it was that same lineup that has been terrible that destroyed the Guardians pitching in this series part of that is baseball weird things happen and you can’t overreact to Wi Series in a six- Monon season but it’s certainly something to Circle and now see going forward because I think all of us do feel like it’s only a matter of time before some of this gets exposed with the pitching I’ve never been a big Logan Allen fan so I’m not surprised that he’s necessarily struggling uh Gavin Williams can’t get back here soon enough finally maybe yeah Rehab start tonight the first one yeah hopefully I mean he’s still going to need three four rehab starts at minimum so he’s still a month away yeah I mean I mean when is the All-Star break that’s theyd probably he’d be back before the all if the All-Star break was two weeks earlier they’d probably wait till after yeah I think they’ll try to get him back for two three starts he won’t be back before July maybe the last week of June Maybe I don’t think so I mean he could get four starts I mean today’s the 30th okay that’s 20 days yeah three weeks he could be back you know late I’m saying the 25th the 26th that but that’s that’s a best case scenario and that’s half the season already so yeah something that was supposed to be two weeks but the good news is he won’t have a lot of taxing tax taxing taxing his arm won’t be taxed very much if he just pitches the second half of the Season uh I I’m not going to overreact to one series it is odd that the Guardians have mostly played great baseball and their two worst series by far for for the last six weeks really or really the whole season has been losing two of three to the Rockies and three of four to the White Sox who may be the two worst teams in baseball yeah for whatever reason it’s baseball man yeah it’s weird in the last in the last just two and a half weeks they’ve gone two and and uh four two and four two and five against the white socks and Rockies and I think 12- one against everybody else which is which is odd uh Earl you worked up about it no it’s one game I think we’ve played great baseball I mean we’ve done damn well on this road trip so can’t win every single game um Logan Allen had pitched pretty good prior to this start right here I thought his last three starts was pretty he’s been excellent lately um you know even when the Guardians had got behind the offense kind of picked them up but you didn’t really get much from your two through five hitters like we’ve typically been getting I know they all had a hit but it was like One RBI between the three or four of them so can’t do it every night yeah it’s it’s one game and then Colorado found found their offense and I know they they haven’t been good offensively especially at home throughout this season so it is what it is this one series we come back home we’ll take care of business I’ll tell you something this may shock people I am more locked in and part of it’s because they’re playing terribly right now but it’s not just that I am more locked into to the Guardians than I am to the Cubs good wow I you should be only took a decade now I’m not going to lie if they played again in the World Series the Cubs of my team I would root for sure you should obviously I root for the Guardians against anybody else I do not like the Cubs at all at all it’s unfortunate CU if the Cubs had played anybody else but the Guardians probably everybody here would have rooted for the Cubs and obviously vice versa myself and I’m sure every other Cub fan would have rooted for the for the Guardians the Indians if they had played any other team I’m just first of all from I I host a guardian show I love talking baseball I want the Guardians to be good because then there’s more interest in the team yep and for the you know for the people that like crap on baseball I you know and crap I get crapping on the owner I get that people do that and I get ticked off of the owner too but I love the idea of like sticking it to the baseball haters with the Guardians being good yeah it’s unbelievable yeah I I I’m GNA I’m working on a story now and just like the path that they took and the fact that they and we killed them all winter for not signing free agents deservedly so and then like and and I’m not letting them off the hook because they’re still glaring holes yes up and down this roster but by God they’ve I talking to one person in the organization who’s like the winner is the worst time for us we get destroyed every winner yeah we have to get to the season and then we play well and then everyone forgets about the winner I just think it’s always a situation with this team that when you don’t have expectations form they seem to surprise you when you expect the Guardians to be good they disappoint you coming off that playoff run a couple years ago coming into the next season I mean lately that’s been the case lately that’s been the case I mean we had expectations for 2017 and they and they were great that year we lost in the playoffs but uh go ahead Mike we’re going to do some no fence Riders about the Guardians I don’t think we’ve ever done no fence Riders Guardians Edition before so I’m very excited for this if you’re in the chat hit the like button hit the Subscribe button it cost $0 if you missed the ultimate Cav show last night make sure you go check it out Earl’s doing a ultimate 216 show today so lots of content for you guys on the YouTube page you can go find whenever you I think folks you’re going to like this segment because I actually I think Mike did a really excellent job with these questions because I really had to think about I think every one there might one struggled with a couple of some of them were really tough they were the number there was one that was easy I can’t remember which one it was I’ll pointed out when it comes up but the rest were all I could go either way I struggled with the first one I don’t remember remember the order so go ahead well let’s get to the first one because the first one almost had a unanimous answer the question was will the Guardians win at least 93 games this season this was a tough one yeah and the results would have been unanimous except I don’t like when it’s unanimous because that means we’re always wrong so I said no just so we avoid the unanimous answer though I think all go over there’s a decent chance you’re going to be right we’re all kind of prisoner of the moment well I mean if they play 500 the rest of the year they’re going to be 90 they’ll be right around right and it’s possible they might only play 500 the rest that’s not crazy but I mean hope not 500 like only a couple games over 500 gets you to 93 like if the question honestly if it was 95 i’ probably would have been a no if it was 94 like 93 was right on that threshold point right and I said yes I originally was a no change it to yes probably should have stuck with no but I think that’s right the they’re going to fall somewhere between 90 and 94 probably more than likely now if they make if they’re very aggressive in trades they could I mean it’s possible they could win a 100 yeah but we’ll see but uh yeah it was close Earl you it was easy for you it was easy for me based on just what Jason said if they play at minimum 500 they get the 90 wins and I don’t think stepen vot is going to let this team just play at minimum 500 baseball Mike what why’d you go no just to be contr just just to have one person on the no side because I feel like I don’t have the numbers but I feel like 85% of the time when we are unanimous in these we’re wrong and I didn’t want to be wrong I don’t know that’s even though I went I went against it just to be the one against it all right question number two Jose Ramirez currently leads Major League Baseball with 56 RB this season he has significantly more seven more than anyone else in baseball he has 10 more than Juan sto who’s second in the American League so the question was will he finish the season as not Major League Baseball but just the American League’s leader in rbi’s and we had a pretty split answer here myself Earl and Jay all said yes Jason tiis GM bull said no yeah um he was in the spot a couple years ago leading the league around this point injuries are always a factor he tends to fade a little bit at times yeah so it’s not any indictment on Jose no I look at the Yankees lineup and think it’ll be one of those guys yeah Soto judge right now like the Yankees lineup is back to what it was a few years ago and stto has made a huge difference in that lineup yeah kind of under the radar Alex Verdugo is really good in that middle of the lineup they just got DJ lameu back I know he’s old but he was still pretty good last year and for once they’ve stayed relatively healthy Stanton’s been you know decent yeah um and vuli obviously batting high in the lineup great so they got a lot of guys on base I I just think judge and stto one of them will probably overtake him I he could definitely win it it wouldn’t surprise me and I think he’ll at worst be top five but uh yeah I’m with with Jason I I think one of the Yankees guys event eventually passes I think he gets it I think he’s going to go on and break Manny Ramirez record uh team record for rbi’s in the season I think he’ll be the uh American League leader in rbi’s this is what’s going to happen 160 RBI this is what’s going to happen see you all are you you you can’t see into the future bad job out of yall baseball guys you set up here and suggested a trade for Bo bashet right yeah the Guardians are going to make that trade Quan is Gonna Come Back healthy right yeah Ramirez is going to move further down in the lineup and he’s going to get more RBI opportunities because the guys in front of him is going going to continue to get on base I think that step V’s philosophy that he changed um having him be more aggressive in account more aggressive hitters at the plate I think if he doesn’t get hurt this is sustained but I think the Guardians are going to make a move he’s going to move further down in the lineup and he’s going to get more opportunities to get more RBS I disagree that he’s going to move further down the lineup I think he’s going to stay in the three spot but if they got bashet in theory you’d put him in the two spot probably either way you’d have a better hitter in the two spot than you do now you certainly would have Steven kback so there would be more oper RBI opportunities I don’t think they drop him in the lineup because then over the course of season he’s going to get less trips to the plate and I don’t think they want to do that because he’s their best allaround player but it is a good point that Quan missed the last month yes and still driving in when Quan’s arguably the best leadoff hitter or one of the best lead off Fs in baseball yeah all right Mike next one next one at the moment Emanuel class is allowed one earned run in 27 Innings his ra is a 0.33 so the question here is Sir will Emanuel class finish the season with an RA under one to me this was the easiest one yeah yeah you and I went the same route then yeah the answers tyus and Jay said yes he will the rest of us said no yeah and that obviously is no knock on CL a I mean it’s one bad out one right he gets blown up one game that’s it you can’t three or four runs in one game that’s that that’s it know now it’s a it’s a little different with a starter but the Cubs have a starter named Shota imanaga who’s a rookie came over from Japan awesome his first nine starts he had an RA of like 110 he I he I think he’d only given up more than one run in like one game he’d been brilliant last night he got smoked by the Brewers it was his first beat up and his ra is now whatever it is over two you know you and with a relief pitcher you can’t make up that blow up you just don’t pitch enough Innings right and the only way you can have an ER under one is if you never get blown up in an entire season now if anybody’s going to do it right now it would be CL because he’s the best closer in baseball but even Mariela Rivera Trevor Hoffman Lee Smith all these great alltime levers have at least two or three games a year where they get smoked yeah and you have that that that makes makes it impossible no matter how good you are in the other ones to be under under one if You’ said under two I would have been with you not under one two would have been been too easy I felt I guess one and a half PR one and a half all right next one I was scrolling through Twitter and I saw dant TR Willis remember Don Tris the pcture for the Marlins you know you know Guardians fans you have as an Indians fan you have all these terrible memories with the Marlins and you know for those years but to me dant TR Willis against the Cubs me gives me the willies I ain’t got no love for Gary Sheffield I ain’t got no love for Moes Alo leavon Hernandez I ain’t got no love for leavon Hernandez I ain’t got no love for none of them so dantro Willis is working with fox in their MLB department and he put out his quarter season awards this was middle of last week yeah or the end of last week excuse me and okay for his Al manager of the Year through the quarter bark of the Season he went with Aaron Boone Over Steven vote that’s ridiculous so my question to you guys was yeah will Steven vote win Al manager of the year now let me say that I’m not a big Aaron Boon fan and obviously you got to give him credit he’s done a very nice job this year but it’s ludicrous to have to vote for him over step vote right now cuz the two teams have basically the same record and more people thought the Yankees would be good than the Guardians and that’s what it’s all about now In fairness the AL East is a better division but still I I think both easily win now so that being said Will he win what did we say the answer was a 5-2 split all three of you on the panel plus G and thus said yes me and Jay said nuggets why’ you say no who you think’s gonna win I don’t have an answer I just thought although right now I think he’s manager the year I don’t think they can sustain this hot of play and for a Guardians manager to get that kind of reward I know Terry Fran cona has in the past it has to be a special special season I don’t think they’re going to finish hot enough to have the momentum to win the award vo that’s where I disagree with too they don’t have to stay this hot now they they can’t collapse the four last four months but if they win the let’s say they won 91 games which would mean they played Med you know mediocre baseball away if they win 91 games and win the division I’d still say there’s probably a 90% chance he wins the awards he should win it he’s a rookie manager right now if the the only way he wouldn’t win it in that case if if the Yankees won like 110 games something something crazy right uh or like who’s like the Mariners won the West maybe and they won a 100 games or something like that but if if the Yankees win the East with 100 wins and the Guardians win the central with 92 vote’s going to win I just like the odds of the field there it’s not it’s vot’s the favorite I just like you know I get what you’re saying you know when you’re betting on Golf and it’s like Scotty sheffler or the field even though Sheffer is the heavy favorite I just like the odds of the field better so and the man I can’t even think of who it is now the manager of the Royals I mean he’s in the mix right now oh he’s definitely uh he was here yeah Matt Cortaro I always yeah pronoun he’s done a great job cuz there was even less thought about them than the Guardians yeah he actually that’s a great he’s great candidate right now he should be in the mix right now the top three would be those you know Aaron Boone vote and uhar Baltimore’s manager still be in the mix I know he won it last year no because they were expected to be the best team yeah uh that that’s the thing the coach of the year award and this is no offense to Kevin stefansky uh Jason but you you know this and you and I both love stefansky it doesn’t go to the best coach it goes to the best coach of the most unexpected successful team that’s what it is it’s not it’s not you’re not usually usually right most cases most cases so you know you can’t win if Brandon hdes done a magnificent job as the manager of the Orioles they were patient because when he first took over they sucked and they were patient and they stuck stuck with him and he’s done a great job there but he won it last year and everybody thought they’d be the best team in the American League and they’re you know right around the has Bo never won it it’s I think it’s hard for those well because they’ve been mostly disappointing since he’s been there and it’s hard for the big payroll big Market teams to win this award I people always talk about a big Market bias I think in Awards like this there’s an anti big Market bias agree Boon has not won I just looked up I don’t think he ever deserved it yeah I’m I’m like what about Boston n i mean Frank cona won it when in Boston oh yeah yeah yeah but I mean that was World Series team yeah like that’s kind well Joe Tory won manager of the Year Awards T did win but um but the Yankees were so good in those years and and uh but but uh no I I I would probably vote Aaron Boon third right now behind voting qaro two Central managers yeah go ahead Mike all right we’ll move on to the next one yeah and it’s nothing against vote why I voted no I just like the field in those odd this next one is a three four split one of the ones that is perfectly cut the ucss panel in half Gavin Williams was supposed to make his first a triple A start yesterday his first Rehab start the game got out I think he’s supposed to pitch tonight I wonder if that affects Quan coming back Friday I’m guessing probably no but no he’ll still be back Friday the uh Guardians no he said the Clippers yeah the Guardians tweeted out that the first 15,000 fans get Stephen Quan jerseys on Friday so I would assume Quan’s goingon to be there by the way Guardians and all teams not just the Guardians you can’t be doing this first 15,000 give it to everybody that comes to the game what the organization can’t afford another 10,000 dollar M dollar jerseys are they going to have more than 15,000 there the way they’re playing they better I well it’s a weekend I’m going tomorrow is it the gats or the Royals it’s the NSS but it’s dollar Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Oh They’ll have it’ll be packed it’s also Saturday by the way it’s do dog night dude we got to go to a Royals game next week you want to go who wants to go we should we should all go crew all right we’ll talk about it later um all right so Gavin Williams may or may not make his first Rehab start for Columbus tonight I’m not quite sure why would he not I’m just have they officially announced that he’s going to start tonight was supposed to do it yesterday I thought this one was easy go ahead well the question was by the way whether he starts tonight or not the question was will he make at least 12 starts for the Guardians this season Jason myself and tiis said yes Earl G Jay and B you said yes no he has to be back by I mean he can’t be get hurt again well this is funny because you think I said he could come back a little earlier than you and and yet I said no and you said yes well if he’s back by August 1st he’s going to make 12 starts no 60 games August and September two months it’s basically two months uh it’s basically two months so he has to be healthy for two months to make 12 starts maybe two months in a week so to me I was like well unless he gets hurt again if he get if he goes down again 60 days you pitch every fifth day time 12 is well it’s a little more than two months cuz you’re not playing 60 games so two months in a week but I mean I think but remember if he comes back the beginning of July you got the All-Star break I mean there’s going to be by the time he comes back there’s going to be what 80 games left half the season he if he makes two starts in July three starts in July which he’ll make three starts in July it leaves him nine for August September I think it’s e now if he gets hurt again he’s not going to get there yeah are you talking me into it said yeah I’m think in half a year you usually make like 13 starts in half a year and I’m worried like are they going to be extra cautious could they go at least temporarily to a six-man rotation and that cost you know maybe Falls just short but all right kind of dck me yeah I think he gets I think he’ll make probably 14ish 14 to 15 starts this year I just want to see him agressive anticipation of seeing him pitch all year long I just want to see him pitch and the thing that just pisses me off is like it was supposed to be a two-e injury right but they the Guardians always do this yeah they never yeah so I mean they we were under the impression he was going to be back in April right and now and I you know and I know they had to shut him down again and you can never foresee that sure but when you’re expecting to see a guy in April and it’s now going to be late June or July yeah it’s a big difference all right Mike moving on to the next one guys is this the last one or is there one more no we got two more okay will the Guardians have seven or more players finish the season with double digit home runs right now they have two Ramirez and nailor but David fry has seven Brennan has five Jimenez and Freeman have four they got a couple guys with three but the question was seven and this was another one where we had a 4-3 split Jason thus J said yes they will I did I said no I’ll double check my text but on the graphic it says Jason said yes so for the sake of this Jason you said yes well tyus had to say yes tyus definitely said yes yeah yeah yeah uh when I looked at it obviously as you said they already have two David fry is a near lock to get there right I don’t know I don’t know that anybody else in this team is a lock to get the double digits besides the guys who were there in David fry and Jason did text yes for the record Jason did text yes for the record Jason well Jason hases did you make a mistake I I should have been a no well what I’m saying is David fry is going to get there obviously yeah so that’s three guys there’s nobody else I could say with certainty he’s going to hit 10 home RoR correct right so there’ll be a couple of others between Freeman Jimenez Quan they’ll maybe even if all even if all three of those guys got the 10 Jimenez will get there I think I do think Jimenez will get there Freeman and Quan got a shot maybe that would at best put you to six who’s the seventh I got a question there’s two guys Bor oh B yeah Bo no no bo but listen that means Bo Quan and Freeman all double I got a question there two guys that just got called up that’s that’s going to be here both have not hit their first career home run what’s the chances that uh Jonathan Rodriguez or manzardo hit 10 home runs to I don’t think manzar I don’t think Rodriguez is any shot because he’s going to go to back to the minor soon probably probably could be this weekend I think the question when Quan comes back do they send Rodriguez down or they move on from floral they probably send Rodriguez down well they could move on for floral because he’s I’ve seen enough of eston floral if I were them I’d stick but even if you stick with Rodriguez how much is he going to play when San’s back so that’s why they might send him down anyway because you’d rather has have floral you know playing once a week than Rodriguez who could play the line now now now I got a I got a followup question from going to in the Maj guys okay like if from what I’ve read and what I’ve heard from people that’s experts he’s supposed to be your your future in the right field so if Quan is in the left and you like the Tyler Freeman experiment in Center why not just keep Jonathan Rodriguez up and let him get the experience I’m not ready to say he’s the future and right I I don’t think he’s a short thing Prospect no he’s the right now he’s the good enough for right now guy I don’t think he’s the long-term answer right maybe he winds up I think it’s more about manzardo I think I wasn’t really thinking about manzardo I think he could hit 10 home runs I like the way he’s swinging the bat lately he’s getting very comfortable yes and uh so all right I’m going to think about this again obviously you got two guys that are there Fry’s gonna get there I’m gonna say manzardo is gonna get there for I’m with Jason I think Jimenez gets there that’s five now can they get two other guys between Bo Naylor Tyler Freeman Steven Quan I I thought Steven Quan was gonna get 10 this year but he missed a month he’s just not a power I don’t think Brennan’s gonna maybe Brennan gets I think Brennan’s got five didn’t he I think Bren will Brennan at the moment has five correct so he’s on Pace for like 13 I I talking ourselves into it here no I’m still saying No I say they fall short but I think they get six I I this is what happens when I try and go like in my mind yes yes no no no and I just respond all at once and I mess it up how many that’s on me did what did they have last year two three uh last season give me a sec I got to switch the tabs in a 2023 regular season one two three four five six six oh AR but now we say six you ready for these Arius had 10 Josh Bell and Bo Naylor had 11 Jimenez 15 Naylor 17 Jose 24 yeah now obviously Naylor and Jose are gonna hit way more than last year David fry how many did he have last year he didn’t play that much David fry laston two three home runs four four I mean David fry I don’t know will keep it up he’s on Pace for like 20 whole mons insane I can’t believe arus hit double figures last year that is hard to believe he’s got what’s he have this year one two two Gabriel arus has one home run yeah he’s been awful I that guy drives me crazy because I I I was all in on him you said he got all the tools to be he does but go get me a short stop will you well that’s a great segue to our next question because our last question for no fence I have had fun with this but we got to do some Guardians ones more yeah will Brian rokio or Gabriel arus pick your one be the guardian’s full-time shortstop by the start of the playoffs I hope not nope 3 four split tyus g& J said yes the rest of us including the four of us here today all said no the realistically it’s probably yes probably is but we’re both hoping they make a trade I’m hoping they make a trade but if I’m being totally honest with myself it’s probably a yes well I’m a homer and an optimist we going to get Bob that’s a rough combination in Cleveland well the the shocking thing about that is Jason’s not like he’s very grounded about the like teams making trades so the fact that you have as much hope as you do even though you overstated it a little gives makes me feel better I I just feel like they got to do something I it’s too important of a position yeah you can’t if you and maybe one of these guys figures it out I got to start thinking also about you we talking about B bashet he’d be ideal but there probably are some other short you could go get a med Rosario and he’d be better than these guys you know what’s funny about a med Rosario in April and Fuego yeah he was great in April for for Tampa he’s been awful in May that’s who he is that’s who he is I mean he’s when he’s hot he’s F not he doesn’t hit home runs but when he’s hot he’s great he can he can hit 400 for a month but then he’ll hit a buck 50 for a month yeah there’s a hundred guys you can go out there and get that are giving you more than what you right now can you stir up some stuff and see if we can bring Frankie home maybe that can get we talked about that it’s just they they owe him for like seven more years it’s just too much money the Mets would have to eat I just don’t think that’s realistic at all seven years 34 mil a year is his contract that’s insane they’d have to eat they’d have to eat 20 million per year for the entire length of the contract they just they if if I’m them I’d rather try to hope he turns it around absolutely there’s no point in that yeah yeah yeah especially giving him back to the team you already gave him Andre Jimenez right you don’t want to they would never trade him to the Guardians yeah yeah all right guys we’re going to move on talk a little Cavs now after a quick reminder that FanDuel is the official Sportsbook partner of the ultimate Cleveland sports show it is win or take all time in the NBA and NHL and FanDuel visit fanduel.com ucss and make every playoff shot count FanDuel America’s number one sports book we got news yesterday bull official news oh one last thing yep um uh two quickies on baseball real quick before we move on one something you could consider besides a short stop the Guardians could trade for a second basem and move him man as to short I know it’s not ideal to do it middle of the Season yeah that feels more like a spring training move right but if if there was a perfect scenario where they could get a really good second baseman he’d do it and he’d be great or you get a center fielder and move Freeman a second fa Fair also speaking of which there’s an outfielder now he’s hurt again and he’s often hurt that I’ve talked about for a while I talked about this guy last year he did not have a very good year last year but I say and then again this year actually this year he’s having a fantastic year but right now heur Tyler O’Neal I’ve always been a big fan of that guy boss has not trade him though well if I think they’re going to fall out of it as the season goes I still think you’re going to trade him well he’s a it was only a one-year deal I think wasn’t it I don’t know I just figured they’d resign him he’s young enough yeah but if it’s a one-year deal I mean you could always trade for him the Guardians are not going to resign him so you could always bring him back but is milw doing well in Columbus I haven’t even paid attention the couple Clips I’ve seen I don’t know what his overall numbers are but I’ve seen a couple Clips like do you have any idea home run here and a couple hits there on who mil straw not particular he’s batting eighth so he’s batting eighth in the miners oh my God in heav hold on real quick before we move on I’m going to give you Mil Straw’s uh minor league stats Mike’s strangle you right now you going strangle me Mike no you’re fine he’s batting 218 in Triple A he’s internally going off right now oh my God after the show 41 hits one Homer 12 RBI nine still he has at 284 on base percentage Ops is 577 unbelievable oh my this guy can’t even hit Triple A send him horrible send him to akan maybe I and by the way I where are all the apologies because when I make when I’m wrong I own up to it I was killing nailer couldn’t hit lefties he finally did I’ve done nothing about say I was wrong I was wrong and complimentary all right where are the people that kept arguing with me about mil straw I haven’t gotten one apology for many of those nitwits you’re not going to either no you’re not going to all right all right go ahead we’re going to talk little Cavs yesterday Adrien morowski uh W of ESPN tweeted out that the Cavs have officially started their head coaching interview process it’ll start with Kenny ainson and James bergo two guys we have mentioned numerous times who to get heavy consideration for the job on the ultimate Cav show yesterday Jason and I were talking about what qualities we want to see most in a head coach Jason brought up the point something I hadn’t considered that this timeline to hire a new coach could take a lot longer than at least I had initially thought the Cavs don’t seem to be in any rush to make a higher and Jason you made it seem that it could take beyond the draft and free agency before we see the Cass make an official move on a head coach I know yesterday we talked about yesterday did you have the reic news already by the time you guys were on last night it’s still not official but I B goes back for a second interview so it’s not a done deal it it probably will end up being oh with the Lakers yeah Bray goes back in La for a second interview with the Lakers and and the only other team with the coach opening is Washington which they H they already they hired they filled it oh they did they promoted the guy they had oh you said they were going to do that I didn’t realize that was a done so basically if the Cavs are the only team looking for a coach what’s the rush well that’s the thing and you know the and really I hadn’t even thought of it Kobe’s the one that said it at his end of season availability he said it would be a little aggressive he said we’d love to have a coach in place by the draft but even that might be a little aggressive because I think they’re looking exactly at the same thing even if they take bgo even if the Lakers hire bgo yeah who is one of the Cav’s top candidates yeah it’s I I what’s been told to me is Atkinson is their number one right now that can change but right now Atkinson is their number one and they’ve got a bunch of other guys they want to talk to and we know the list list yeah but what you don’t want to I I think they so if if Kobe’s saying that the draft is aggressive well the draft is June 26 free free agency starts a few days after that right so what I read into that is what they don’t want is they don’t want a repeat of 2014 when they hired David blad and then LeBron comes back and now you have a coach that doesn’t match the team right so by waiting you wait you get a decision out of Don if you’re waiting till June 26 you might as well wait through free agency get the commitment from Donovan and then you know which direction you’re going with a coach if you have to trade Donovan it could change who the coach is going to be what is the timeline with Donovan in terms is early July it’ll be early July so he’s either GNA sign early July or he’s not going to sign correct okay so yeah okay that I mean that makes total sense because there’s no rush if you tra if you have to trade Donovan then you’re kind of starting over I don’t think you’re starting over okay maybe that’s too maybe that’s too aggressive not starting over but you’re stepping back a little well not even that necessarily it it depends it it there’s so many moving pieces to this summer but ultimately for me what it comes down to is if Donovan comes back one of the things you’re telling him is who do you want the coach who do you want the coach and that could influence who they hire but you and and again all indications to this point are he’s going to resign Donovan’s going to resign right but until there’s pen on paper you don’t know that for sure and there’s it’s not like there’s five teams out there right now racing to get a coach right you’re bidding against yourself at this point so there is situation yeah there is no rush don’t you think though that um like the your other moves whether it’s I mostly with the Cavs it’s got to be trades because you you you potentially G you’re going to trade either probably either Darius or Donovan and then well Kobe’s insisting they’re bringing everybody back well that does what he says doesn’t matter I I know but we still have to like this is what he said is he wants to bring them all back I don’t necessarily believe that’s how it’s going to unfold yeah but that’s what he’s saying right now so like that’s the Baseline why would he I mean there’s no he has no incentive to tell the truth correct and you don’t want to you don’t want to erode your own leverage right but he has been fairly honest in these settings in the past where he said he was going to bring it back and and he did and we thought maybe they should make changes and he brought it back so I’m just establishing a baseline okay this is what they’re saying they’re stupid if they bring it back in my opinion I don’t think they’re stupid but I think it it it depends on what’s out there and is is what is out there going to make you significantly better I think it’s a fair debate to have I think it’s worth exploring for sure and I know you guys talk about Brandon Ingram the other day and what’s your take on because Mike’s not doesn’t like him he’s good not great um there’s a ton of injuries yeah I think he’s a pretty good player when he’s on the court it’s just a matter of which 65 games are you going to get get out of him if you can get some of the injuries out of the way in December and January and he’s healthy for the playoffs he’s pretty good I take him but he’s better than Darius Garland but here but well here’s the thing here’s what I said to Mike Brandon Ingram’s been in New Orleans for five years now and new or if New Orleans looks at him and says we don’t want to give him $200 million that should be a massive R red flag to you why if they’ve had every this guy in the building every day for five years fair and they say we don’t we are not comfortable investing $200 million into this guy you should think long and a hard as to why yeah but the guy you’re trading is a guy that if you had to do it over again you might not pay him these are all flawed players that we’re talking about right Brandon Ingram Darius Garland they’re good not great like it but like this is the aisle that you’re shopping in because wings wings are the most coveted position in the league right and so any team that makes a guy available there’s going to be something wrong with them because the ones that teams love are the ones that they hold on to and don’t ever let go and they pay them all the money so you’re trading defective for defective in a sense yeah and you know I mean I think I’m a little bit higher than Mike is on a Donovan Brandon Ingram Evan Moy pairing I think that’s pretty good yeah um I think it’s better than what they’ve got currently right now but again there’s the Jared Allen piece that’s floating around and so it’s it’s this is like this is like a Rubik’s Cube summer for the Cavs and you’re trying to get the colors to line up on all the different sides Earl do you trust Kobe ultman to get it right with this it’s a Lot Faith I don’t know uh shout out to you though cuz you gave me a lot of information uh Sunday like everything that he said he kind of told me Sunday about you know the timeline right uh you know and as far as Kobe running it back with the same for I’ll say this I I’m not in favor of a retread coach personally I felt like that if you were going to go that route you could have fired JB last year when a crop of coaches that was available were better than the candidates that’s available now and I kind of want somebody that’s going to give it be given a a fresh opportunity to show what uh to to show what he or she can do and I’m kind of have locked in on Chris Quinn personally um he’s been with Eric sper in Miami for 10 years their top assistant he’s he’s great with Player Development he’s great with Superstar players he’s already gotten a ring and Endor from a guy like you dlam um you know a guy that can develop not just Evan Moy but I think can get more out of a guy like Craig Porter Jr can get more out of immani Bates because he’s going to be here so for me I want just the next best thing uh next up and coming um you know assistant head coach and the rankings I don’t know much I can’t go back and think about Brooklyn before Katie and Kyrie got there and how successful they were I do know that you know Kyrie and KD had an issue with him and I’m not saying because they did that’s the end all be all but you got a superstar player here yeah do you want a guy that doesn’t necessarily have the best relationship with star players because you’re going to be in a situation to where it can all blow up your face now you could argue Kyrie and Kevin Durant are two of the biggest pains in the ass in the league in terms of superstars Fair Kyrie was at that time I think he’s grown up a lot I do think he’s grown up it does seem like when I’ve heard him talk recently he sounds a little different it’s it’s enough with the some of the nonsense he talks about sometimes the basketball right now matured quite a bit but you know I think it’s worth pointing out again if Donovan comes back I think whatever coach they have in place will have some sort of Donovan endorsement blessing whatever so if it is Kenny Donovan’s gonna give the okay yeah to some extent all right before we go to the next Cavs topic Jason rapid fire you ready okay percentage chance oh boy that Donovan Mitchell is on the team next year 92 Darius Garland 50 Jared Allen 50 and percentage chance that immani Bates plays real minutes next year 10 10% chance yeah Which is higher than last year which would I surpris zero last year was a zero I thought you were going to say zero again no I’ll give him 10 he’s got under his belt now Mikey I we do one read we got one more cast topic then we’ll bounce back to the Browns if you’re looking to go to NBA Finals game if you want to fly to Boston or article from Bleacher Report which was labeled aggressive trade targets one aggressive trade Target excuse me for every NBA team so I was like oh I wonder who they pick for the Cavs so I clicked on it and their choice for a Cavs aggressive trade Target this summer was Denny Adia from the Washington Wizards now if you’re not familiar with Danny obia he was a top who the H watches Wasing they were terrible there’s no reason to he was one of the few bright spot this year he’s a wing thir defense third year yeah and he just signed a new fouryear $55 million contract extension which is one of the best contracts in basketball that’s pretty cheap how good is he what was his number he’s worth way more than about $12 million which is what he’s getting about $15 million wants he getting so he’s a good player but when we talk about ambitious trade targets I’m not sure Denny Advia moves the needle in terms of ambitious trade targets before we move on to the the more ambitious ones what are his numbers like how good a player is this past season he averaged 14.7 points he shot 51% from the floor 37.5% from three grabed 7 and a half rebounds dished out four assists on a putrid Washington team he was arguably their second or third best offensive Creator and by far their best perer defender he good Defender very good Defender he’s a really good player he turned into a really good we haven’t you guys haven’t mentioned him well because what’s the Washington doesn’t really have any incentive to move on from him when they want to kind of build around a d like that especially if you got him for a bargain on a contract he’s on a great contract if they’re going to trade someone it’s going to be some of their big contract guys and they’re not going to want to take anyone on cheap like Jared Allen doesn’t work for him they don’t want yeah they don’t want makes they have no have to trade them draft picks right which the Cavs don’t have Cavs don’t have okay so he’s not a realistic I don’t think he’s realistic whatsoever but he’d be a great you you guys like great he’d be great great fit Kyle kozma a different similarly sized positional player on Washington he could be a trade Target he’s more realistic for the Cavs based on the money he makes and trying to get that to work obia I don’t think makes any sense from Washington standpoint to try and trade so I ask you guys yeah to get crazy to get ambitious who’s a more ambitious trade Target in your mind that the Cavs could at least look at and Jason I want to start with you so I asked you who was your ambitious trade candidate for the Caps to look at this summer and your answer was Jimmy buckets Butler whoa I I just it like you talk big game hunting Jimmy Butler’s big game hunting obviously he’s got a ton of playoff experience yeah big time postseason player uh he’s under contract for 48 million next year he’s looking for a big time deal he’s got a player option the year after that sort of the situation that Donovan’s in frankly with one year left and then a player option so and I don’t know that Miami is going to give him a 50 52 million a year deal how old is he now uh how old is Butler 30 I think I’ll look it up he’s not young but he just had he’s not that old I think he’s 30 I want to say like 32 2 33 but I he’s 34 34 35 this year yeah and he’s I mean he’s making big time money yeah big time money but he’s a big- time player he’s exactly what this team needs as a two-way defend or two-way Wing he’d be an absolute perfect fit in this system you want to go big game honey and an ambitious trade Target give me Jimmy Butler what’s amazing look at his numbers compared to his career I mean he had a I didn’t realize he had this good a year he’s like he he’s just getting better is he good older it’s weird and a big I thought I thought he came off like a real D with those comments he did that that was and people got mad at me when I said that on Twitter which I didn’t get like you’re not playing shut up nobody cares if you would have won uh one thing on Jimmy Butler real quick so he is he had he had an injury riddled season yeah which is part of why he shot more threes he also made a career-high percentage from Beyond The Arc right we talked about the Cavs the last two years who can you trust in the playoffs it was Donovan and and who else and last year against New York Donovan was not the player in the playoffs they needed playoff Jimmy’s a real thing and you may get 55 games in the regular season from Jimmy and I know he didn’t play in the postseason this year yeah but when he has played in the postseason Jimmy Butler has been at his absolute best and you talk about and Earl’s mentioned this many many times do the Cavs have a dog like do they have that legitimate dog mentality well Jimmy Butler brings that to Jason’s point about would Jimmy Butler be an ideal fit from like a standpoint of team building what this team Lacks what this team needs from both an on Court and off Court perspective I mean Jimmy Butler is the pipeline course it’s a no-brainer but the problem with Jimmy Butler same as the problem that I the guy I have on here is that the we’ve seen in the last few years a lot of these old guys are not able to play in the playoffs CU they’re hurt or they’re not you know injuries are always going to be concern as guys it’s more of a right as guys get older if you’re relying on old guys in the playoffs it’s not going to work out quite often well it’s it’s how you manage them during the regular season and Kobe’s one of the new age type of GM’s presidents who very much believes in maintenance during the season giving guys games off if they did make a move for which Miami did as well and it didn’t matter you’re right he missed the postseason but just because he did this year doesn’t mean he would every year going forward there’s risk involved in any move there is risk because he’s a little bit older but when he’s on the floor when he he’s right and he’s on the floor he’s exactly what they need I think the only if correct me if I’m wrong of the three teams left in the NBA the only Superstar left that’s over 30 is Kyrie right Luc is under 30 Brown and Tatum are under 30 aren’t they yeah they’re under 30 how old goar Edwards is under 30 oh I didn’t think about goar he’s 31 Rudy gobert uh so Kyrie’s 32 I think right Kyrie’s 3132 yeah right now yeah so but none of them are they 34 35 I mean you know that’s a big difference but anyway okay okay so who’s next you want to do Earl’s no we’re going Years cuz Earl didn’t sent one in so Earl’s going to Freestyle at the end he had a busy he had some stuff going on I know that’s fair I’m just shocked because Earl’s on top of things like you know he’s not lost in the soup I mean I got my head you got a lot you got you got things going on I I give you a pass go ahead you’re Kevin Durant who’s even old probably older than Jimmy Butler right he is older than Jimmy Butler I mean he’s old as dirt and what’s funny is he’s he fits he’s old as crap he’s probably the player I hate most in the NBA but obviously he’s a superstar so I don’t care how much I hate you come play and play great I’ll rot for you look at those numbers in year uh 18 now for Durant I mean just incredible so you have 27 points barely off his career his career average he shot a higher than his career average as from the field and from three rebounds down a little but the assists up I mean my God if this team has Kevin Durant or Jimmy Butler they’re the favorites to win win the East you know would they be definitely or would Boston still be the favorite uh they’d be right there with Bost wor right there with Boston yeah they could win a title if if in theory they got Butler or Durant and in theory they stayed healthy from that’s a big if at their age but if those guys all along with Donovan and M stay healthy for the playoff what’s that Mike 100% right in that same conversation right championship Contender there’s no doubt about it and that’s what we all want ultimately so now who would be more likely that they could get Durant or Butler I know neither is very likely but which one’s more likely if you had to bet Butler Butler everybody agrees Butler well I mean we’ve mentioned this before but Phoenix and Cleveland will never make trade that’s true they all hate each other okay so let’s ride on him let’s look at Jimmy Butler what would it take to get Jimmy Butler from from uh Miami it starts with Darius Garland yes because money is a big part of the NBA trades yeah it probably involves Darius whatever draft picks they could trade and Jason I’ll defer to you on which ones they can and can’t it’s not a lot like a decade from now right yeah they they don’t control they don’t they don’t control I don’t think there’s any that they can trade because they’re you can’t trade two years in a row they’ve lost five years of draft of control of their draft the next five years but could they trade this years theore no because they traded last year you can’t trade two years in a row they can’t trade this year’s because next year’s is to Utah right and you can’t lose a pick and in consecutive years so because next year’s is earmarked for Utah you have to hold on to this year so it’s probably you’re probably talking 30 31 they can trade a pick you can keep the pick and trade the guy you can trade the player draft them true that’s true you know if you’ve got something right but that yeah that’s true if you’ve got something set up ahead of time but if the cat well so it’s something that looks if the Cavs had Jimmy Butler it’s going to be a b back end to the first round pick going no this draft oh this draft okay so it looks something like Darius Garland Dean Wade that rookie and then I’d have to find the exact money to work and maybe you take a cont Miami really do that for essentially just Darius Garland and the pick of this draft no it depends on you you probably would maybe have to get a third team involved uh it depends on I mean Pat Riley told Jimmy Butler to sit on and shut up so what’s that relationship yeah right right that’s true and if Miami is not going to sign him to an extension after this year because of his age and because of how much it would cost yeah I think that they would explore moving him for sure now but could they get better than Darius garland from another team Darius and whoever the 20th pick in the draft or wherever they’re picking the the upside Darius is his age yeah he’s young and he has shown to be a very good player he’s not coming off a Very Good Year who’s their point guard they don’t really have one so he’d be a good fit there probably right he would be a good fit yeah and if you like I bet the I mean the contract is massive but if you like the player and you think there’s a lot of talent in there then I I don’t think it’s I don’t think it’s unrealistic but I don’t know what the exact path is to get there by the way you know that Miami he turns Dean wade into a pretty good player right so funny that same list that started this whole conversation yeah do you know who Denver’s ambitious trade Target was Dean Wade Dean Wade he’s listen there are te Dean there are teams that want Dean Wade Dean Wade could play you got to get okay let’s say you’re tra the frustrating thing with Dean is it’s now two postseasons in a row and he’s been hurt all let’s say let’s say in theory they traded Darius and Dean Wade and a draft pick and a couple of draft picks or players that become I’m I’m going to run this through a trade simulator so you guys go I’m going to find you TR and so we look at so now the team now the now you got to go trade Jared Allen right uh do you have to no I think okay so let’s look at it let’s say they kept Jared I think they probably should but I don’t think they have to okay well and if you trade Jared Allen let’s say you turned Darius and some pieces into Jimmy Butler yeah so now now you’re starting back court let’s say Jared Allen’s not there we’ll figure out that part of the trade later you’re starting back court is Donovan Mitchell and who Max dreu Max dreu yeah and then your front court is Butler moley and who Jared Allen or another Center that you okay or is moy become the center becomes the center and you maybe Dean wait while Dean goes in this deal then you’ve lost him as your starting four okay you’re resigning Morris to be your four or is is better you need to get better than that um he’d like to do a little bit better than that all so so are you trading Jared Allen to get a four are you trading get Jared Allen to get another point guard I what are you what are you trading Jared Allen for in that scenario Allen it’s been expressed to me Allen has more trade value than darus Garland I’ve asked a couple people in the league like who’s who has more value and and every every answer was Jared okay one guy said it’s not close Jared over Darius say the massive contract and he’s not coming off Jared’s contract is pretty reasonable Jared Jared’s 20 million a year flat every year yeah right and he’s coming off a very good year but it it’s what do you look if you get a playmaking wing like Butler then what do you need from Jarrett you probably need another big back of some sort a four maybe that like a stretch four that can shoot yeah but you’re not going to trade a stretch four who can shoot for a non-shooting five like there’s not many teams that so what are you doing what are you doing what are we doing that’s why I can you make no no no forget it that’s why I don’t know I don’t know that you necessarily have to trade Jarrett if you if you get the playmaking dynamic Wing but then you still have that scenario where you have two non Shooters you still have two non- shooting bigs Evans gotten better he’s gotten a little bit better every year as a shooter but you still would not classify him as a stretch four right totally agree on that at least not at this point so would you consider trading for another scoring guard if you will and going small where you’re essentially you know you’re starting stru Butler the Cav Mitchell and another shooter the Cavs philosophically like having two ball dominant guards in the back court together and Max Drew does not fit that all right but but they do like yeah they do like pairing Darius with I mean Darius and Colin or Donovan with with Darius Donovan with mystery player X they do like it’s going to be fascinating to see what they do with this roster yeah all right back to football we go obviously uh we hate the other teams in the AFC North especially the Ravens because uh the city that had their team stolen viciously stole Cleveland except unlike with the Ravens and the Colts uh the Browns were able to keep their history and but we respect the Ravens because they’re always freaking good and it’s frustrating uh and we’re going to talk about the Ravens one of the Browns competitors right now Mike MC we’re going to bring our guest in one second a quick reminder Earl’s doing an ultimate 216 show this afternoon that will Air at 5:00 so make sure you guys tap into Earl who always does a great job I think he’s going to break down some of the Browns OTA clips from today so make sure yall tune in to ear the Pearl on the ultimate 216 show today at 5:00 and with that let’s welcome in our next guest I hope I’m pronouncing his last name right but it is Kevin ostriker the host of the locked on Ravens podcast he also writes for the Ravens wire and he is here to join us now to talk a little AFC North football as we get ready to head into the summer months what’s up Kevin you got it right first time I’m impressed people just give up and say ostrich so I I gave you a lot of credit that’s impressive Mike way to go as someone who has a long last name myself I’m always impressed when people could uh correctly pronounced long names Kevin uh were you surprised at all how good a season Lamar Jackson had because obviously won the MVP a few years ago but the two years following that I thought he was a big disappointment he was hurt he didn’t I don’t think he played particularly well those two years and then he bounced back and I thought had even a better season than he did his first MVP season were you surprised he was that good or do you think the contract just kind of helped work everything out what do you believe about that situation yeah I think people definitely expected a jump from Lamar but the way that he performed was incredible he took a leap in almost every category and you’re right compared to his 2019 MVP it was just it was different I think the contract situation though it helped out the past two years before there were a lot of there was a lot of distraction essentially Lamar and the Ravens Eric dasta and Company they were like all right we’re going to table the contract talk we’re not going to think about it but I mean you’re thinking about it you can’t really not think about that especially for for both sides Lamar he gets hurt those two seasons and it was a huge I don’t want to say make or break year because you know that’s that’s going a little extreme but to me it felt like once the contract was agreed upon you could just let go of you’re Lamar and you could just focus on football and there was a lot of controversy when he got injured the year prior of oh is he just sitting out because he’s trying to play it safe for the deal is he trying to not make something worse and there were all these narratives there was a bunch of talk about does he want to fully guaranteed deal and I know the the Deshawn Watson contract there was a lot of conversation about was he pining for something along those lines but Lamar impressed in a bunch of different ways last season both as a runner and as a thrower and took steps that I think a lot of people knew he could take but it was great that he did it when he did because Baltimore needed it in the regular season obviously we know how the championship game went but the strides that he made were great Hey Kevin so Browns versus Ravens in Baltimore we make a lot in Cleveland of the second half performance of one Deshawn Watson I need you to be very honest very transparent from somebody who covers the Baltimore Ravens what’s your thoughts on deshun Watson in that second half and on deshan Watson going forward this year yeah well to start with the game the Ravens lost four games last year the the week 18 game to Pittsburgh was one where they rested their starters but they played the Colts and the Steelers early in the season the Ravens themselves lost those games with mistakes the Cleveland game I think Cleveland took that game from the Ravens they out physical Baltimore and I gave him a lot of credit particularly Deshawn Watson for that performance I think a lot of people in Baltimore you know the way that that game started it was okay you know Baltimore might have this one in the bag but DeShaun Watson LED that team back and it felt like Cleveland just wanted it more and so here in Baltimore when we talk about each lost Baltimore hat I always look at that Cleveland one and said you know what you got to give Cleveland their props for what they did particularly to Shawn Watson on that shoulder now moving forward for him and we we know he’s a talented player but to me he he has to be the key to unlock this offense they go out there and get Jerry Judy this offseason and Pa with Mari Cooper and some of those other wide receivers you have the weapons around you now David and joku is one of my favorite tight ends in the league and it’s unfortunate he plays in the AFC North because of how much I like him but this is this is des Shawn Watson’s team you know you have jamus Winston now you bring in Tyler Huntley and and Dorian Thompson Robinson as well but this is this is Deshawn Watson and so he has this is I don’t again make makeer year feels a little extreme but I do think this is a really important year for him because at the end of the day you’re you’re paying him all that money if you’re Cleveland you gave up so much draft capital for him he has to play like a top quarterback in the league in order to have that deal really feel like it works out for you because again with how much not even just capital in general they invested the play has to be better than we’ve seen and hopefully with a couple added weapons he can do it for Cleveland but just maybe not against Baltimore for me do you think there’ll be any difference send the defense with Zack or in charge over Mike McDonald or is this still the same scheme same unit it’s going to be probably pretty similar Baltimore I think made the right decision by going internal and we knew that they were going to lose a lot of guys on the coaching staff obviously you know the way that it happened wasn’t wonderful for them the thing that’s different between or and McDonald is they’re both they well coming into their first NFL job they’re both younger coordinators have a lot of potential but McDonald won away to Michigan for That season season and had a great year under Jim Harbaugh Zack Gore has no play calling experience at all he played three years in the NFL three years as Baltimore’s inside linebacker and actually made an all pro teams last year but in terms of being a coach and play calling there he he has none of it not high school not college and and not the pros so with the way the Ravens schedule starts obviously they play Kansas City in week one there there’s no leeway period for him at this point like Baltimore has to get off to a strong start they have three different stretches in their schedule this season they’re just gauntlets so to me you lose Patrick Queen you lose Gino Stone a bunch of guys go to division Rivals and elsewhere they’re going to be relying on a lot of young Talent this year but the crazy part is that that’s also on their coaching staff where Zack or is coming in he’s 31 years old as a defensive coordinator so he could still be playing today if not for that injury that had to cut his career short so he’s a talented player he was and a great football mind but there’s there has to be just he jumps it and is successful you know Baltimore can’t afford to have any you know hiccups there’ll probably be some I’m not going to say it’s going to be perfect but it just has to be limited for him so I think it’ll work but you got to take the ups with the downs for him early especially with him not having experience play calling Kevin obviously the Ravens were the best team in the north last year but we know how good this division is you can make I think you can make an argument uh that the four teams could finish in any order in this division uh certainly the stronger Arguments for some than others but it’s not crazy to think they could finish in any order I would argue the Ravens had the worst off season I mean you you mentioned the coaching changes you mentioned they lost Patrick Queen they lost Gino Stone who had a breakout year last year I believe they lost two starting offensive linemen I know everybody’s excited about Derk Henry and I still think he’s got another good year in in the tank I think I always thought Gus Edwards was a little underrated you watch him more than I do I don’t know that they got that much better at running back uh you know Derrick Henry three years ago sure but right now I don’t know that that that’s that much of an upgrade did overall did they did they take enough hits in starting spots that you’re concerned about them going at least a little backwards well to your point actually the Ravens you know Derrick Henry was their only big signing of the off season you know they add they added pieces here and there they lost so much talent this off season where essentially their plan is succession plans all all across the board Patrick Queen they drafted Trenton Simpson last season he’s going to come into a big role you lose Jian Clowny adaf o David so it’s it’s all these different young players seconde guys Third Year guys fourth year guys they have to step up if the Ravens want to have a shot to win this season it’s a it’s the ultimate risk or reward plan for them I don’t think every single solution will work out but I think some will work out and the Ravens actually lost three starting offensive linemen this off season not two so it even it’s even more of a risk reward there where you’re probably going to be relying on a rookie a fourthe guy and a rookie second Andrew Vorhees who tore his ACL at the combine so technically a rookie but actually in a second season to me I think that the Ravens might not be done adding in for agency we saw after the draft last year the Ravens added everybody jaavan Clowney KY vanoi Arthur Mallette Ronald Derby Etc so I still think there is a little room for Baltimore to improve their roster but it feels like with the way their offseason went it was let’s go and promote all of our young guys or most of our young guys into bigger roles Rashad baitman is going to be replacing Odo Beckham essentially this year is Baltimore’s deao number two and he hasn’t shown field Kevin if he can exactly that’s that’s exactly right health is g to be the big part for him so I think that for the Ravens it has a shot to work out for them in the best way but it also has a shot to backfire a little bit like we saw during the 2022 season when the Ravens essentially got rid of all their veterans in the wide receiver room promoted Rashad baitman after an injury rid rookie season D was the number number one spot and you you said all right if it works out great that’s a risk and the reward is there but on the other side of that is if bitman goes down your entire season is essentially over in the wide receiver room not only did baitman go down but they lost their number two guy as well and that’s when they brought in like 36y old Deshawn Jackson and all these other guys that it just it didn’t work so they might add a couple veterans or two but they’re going to be relying on a bunch of young Talent this season and that’s that’s the ultimate risk reward plan in my opinion Uh Kevin two-part question here in your opinion why is it that you believe that Lamar Jackson is looked at as a running quarterback versus a quarterback with Elite running skills and do you believe that Lamar Jackson is the best overall quarterback in the AFC North I think so to answer the first part of your question the reason I think why he’s looked at is more of a running quarterback instead of a quarterback with Elite rushing skills is because Baltimore runs the ball so much and in that offense you know with what he does his throwing skills have been under rated really ever since College if you want to go back that far where he needed a lot of refinement coming out of school and everybody knew that but we’ve seen that with a bunch of other quarterbacks who have that dual threat ability but Baltimore over the past however far you want to go back in Lamar Jackson era has been at the top or very clearly in the top five in rushing attempts last year Baltimore was first in the NFL in rushing attempts and they were 30th in the NFL and passing attempt so I don’t think it’s fair Lamar Jackson’s looked at the first way instead of the second way he’s obviously a quarterback with elite elite rushing skills but he doesn’t throw the ball a ton compared to these other guys so in in a league where we see all these teams going to like the quote unquote I guess like the air rid offenses throwing the ball 40 50 times a game sometimes in extreme cases the Ravens aren’t doing that they’re throwing the ball 22 times a game 25 times a game sometimes even 19 times a game but the thing is sometimes they’re beating teams in those games by like 20 points 28 points and Lamar doesn’t have to throw the ball as much I do wish the Baltimore’s offense was was a little more balanced I think hopefully we’ll see that in year or two of Todd Mon’s offense but he has an elite arm and throwing skills now in terms of if he’s the best quarterback in the AFC North I do I think if I had to rate it I’d probably go Lamar Joe Baro toan Watson and then whoever between Russell Wilson and Justin Fields I don’t know what that quarterback situation is but I think I give Lamar the slight Edge over Joe burrow just because of the fact of the rushing ability I think Joe burrow is a really talented player I think DeShaun Watson’s talented too but to me I think Lamar has that extra Edge he’s W two MVPs the accolades have been there obviously the playoff success he hasn’t made a Super Bowl Joe burough has you can take that into account for sure but I I’ll give Lamar of the slight Edge over Joe burough for now to Shawn Watson three and then that Steelers situation at four all right Kevin I’m taking the burrow over Jackson but it is it is very close I I do agree with something Kevin said I think that for whatever reason people continue to underestimate this brother as a passer he’s already had he’s always had an elite arm and you seen him get better I think his completion percentage went up in college the year after he won the Heisman I just think that the knock on him and as far as his passing ability I I just think it’s unnecessary I I just don’t buy that that’s really much of a thing anymore I I think the majority of football of like knowledgeable football PE maybe fans I don’t know but I don’t know I I Lamar Jackson’s an excellent quarterback but I I I think most teams in the NFL would take over Lamar Jackson I wouldn’t I wouldn’t I don’t know I think it’s really close oh it’s close definitely but I but I I think now they’ve both been injury-prone but uh I just think in the long run I think burrow is more likely to last longer than Lamar and obviously Lamar is a much better Runner than burrow but I think as an overall quarterback I think burrow is a little better than Lamar a little bit not by a lot but there you go anyway we we’ll see how their careers play out I if if I’m a team you’d love have either of uh Kevin thank you man we appreciate it good job appreciate you thanks so much guys take care awesome that was Kevin ostriker of the lock down Ravens podcast we’ve had a bunch of guys from across the AFC North Comm on over the last couple of weeks and not just guys and women yes but gives you a nice little perspective outside of this uh this Cleveland World we’re going to wrap up the show Brown’s practice is going on as we speak we’ve got a couple clips that have come out from here Deshawn Watson throwing in front of me for the first time we also have seen Mike Vel out running around in PS so we’re going to play some of these clips for you guys here in a sec this is live instant reaction to some of these clips from Browns practice today Steve whenever you’re ready take tagboard and you can play him this first one Deshawn Watson to Elijah Moore zip no zip what do you make that throw ball was that a punt or a pass I mean come on Mike just asking what do you think they look good we’ll play you a bunch look fine what do you guys think I don’t care it’s me I mean come on I’m trying to figure out why this being shown right now and I was going to kind of dig into this later now what I’m trying to figure out why this being shown now and I was going to dig into it later well we’re just going to show a couple no I mean it’s made though like I I I ain’t making too much of none of this to be totally honest with you Matt Landers the guy they signed last week has a chance to make a big name in Camp drops the pass here from Deshawn Watson I mean Matt Landers come on Matt Matt Landers you could be that could be a madeup name he might not even be a real player on the Browns it’s an AI figure running down I mean that sounds like the guy who lives down the block for me you know who’s mowing his lawn a little too late in the day uh I guess the biggest question can’t have that how many picks do MJ got today like y’all talking about the wrong thing all of a sudden they’re all cares about OTA I want know how many Pi you got right now this is jamus Winston by the way to David B oh nice cut from David Bell looking real looking real athletic early on in Camp we’ll see the next one uh Desa to Cedric Tillman oh look at that zip the real question we wer see tight defense on that play we weren’t seeing that zip last year ear is it a good thing or a bad thing if MJ is picking off DeShaun Watson is that is that good or is that bad well hopefully MJ is picking off jamus not yeah right uh next one got he wouldn’t be the only one lot picking off James that’s a good point right there MJ with no picks I hope there’s a nice deep ball from Desa it’s showing some arm strength guys this is some real arm strength MVP yo you know what I want to see man that was the last one all right guys initial thoughts on some of the videos we’ve seen from the second open to Media day of Browns forget the throws I really want to see if Cedric Tillman can get the one thing that was as big as ailles Hill corrected cuz he already has the NFL body he already has the hand and the physicality if he can get off the line of scrimmage and run routes man it might be something there well he ran a lot of wrong routes last year that’s what major concern I mean not just wrong routs yeah wrong routs just his route Tree in general that’s what need there’s no excuse for that you should that that that was that was a huge deal he better be like if he doesn’t correct that this year then I think that’s it goodbye because I as a rookie you got to I mean come on you got to know the Playbook you can’t be freelancing out there as a rookie I mean who you think you are so let’s I don’t know if you did it on purpose or he’s just I just think he struggled with it I know in the Jets game I seen Joe flacko doing some coaching I think it was a play that you know if he would have actually cut in on the route sooner uh it wouldn’t have been I think it was ended up being a turnover but I just think that was his biggest biggest Achilles heel I’m he’s not very fast either right no but you know what CA always tell me man that 40 yard stuff is is overrated how quick how how fast can you get in and out of routes within that 10 yard dash matters most uh most than anything I I mean I thought he showed some promise last year I I certainly have higher hopes for him than I did after year one of Anthony Schwarz and David Bell did you just see that that cut from David Bell though I mean that was that was one of the top 13 Cuts I’ve ever seen in Browns training camps it’s got to I’d love to hear that list tomorrow yeah we’ll break it down we had uh uh the little white dude who every fan was going Josh lens I think was his name anybody remember that guy no what about the dud with the hair you no the dude I think it like it was like when we was on hard Kno his dad had like two heart attacks or whatever I guess that was his name I don’t know oh I don’t know what was his name is it David kaj he’s talking about the oh yeah yeah yeah yeah that that might have been that guy there was also the guy who was the homeless guy who return the kick for a touchdown yeah well I forgot that guy’s name uh or punt for wi or something like that all I know is there was this guy I think his name was Josh ly or lens he was a little white dude who had a great training camp and a great preseason and of course everybody from like Avon and Parma and all the other suburbs like we gotta have this guy I don’t know why Avon Parma and is that how they s became the south is that how they became the South but they were all like we got to keep him and I was like and I remember the time thinking why would the Browns keep him like he’ll get to the practice squad if they want him and people were like he’s not going to make it onto the practice squad not only did he make it technically to the practice squad he they didn’t even put him on the practice squad no other team picked them up for the practice squad nobody wanted them so don’t read anything into preseason of training camp pretty much two more Clips I want to show you timeon 25 30 years ago talking Southern one one of the questions we did have and I’m being a little more serious here was you know Deshawn had been throwing but could he throw the ball deep at any point yeah and how deep at least today we have two better videos uh this one’s from Spencer German Earl’s guy 30 yards is his estimate I can’t see on this I know it’s small I wish there was a better way tagboard is what it is but a 30 yard deep pass to Elijah Moore it’s just meaningless Mike it’s in practice and here’s the other one and this one’s from Mary Kay and you never see these in uh OTAs Mary Kay actually tweeted out a video of an incompletion which you never see but the incompletion doesn’t matter that was 35 yards I just don’t care it’s practice there’s no threat of getting hit he’s you know he’s are they even wearing shoulder pads I do not believe so I can’t tell I mean my eyes are not good enough and the screen’s tiny I mean this Sim this has nothing to do with what he’s going to do in a game so I don’t know do do do you even care in Iota B I mean it’s good that he’s able to throw the ball yes I will give you one iota I will give you one iota give me an Iota there you go that coming off the shoulder surgery that you can throw ball 30 yards the fact yes that’s a an Iota but quality of the you don’t get two iotas just one iot one iota the just a fact I have no idea Mike could you look up Iota isn’t that a brand of tater tots maybe an Iota is the ninth letter of the Greek alphabet of the what it’s the letter of the Greek alphabet or an extremely small amount by the way speaking of the Greek Greek alphabet uh you know at the kids now are using all these terms that I don’t know nothing about yeah mid mid but what cap Tak have been one of the uh one of the uh kids on my team s was like yelling at a kid on other team I had to tell him to shut up but he was like you think you’re an alpha male or whatever and I’m like I mean calm down over here he been watching the show here us use that term a lot huh you think you’re an alpha you ain’t no alpha male you ain’t no cop J re well I horrify my kids because I asked their friends how much drip do I have oh and it just horrifies one of AJ’s friends says I’m the drip King really so I make sure every well I’m telling you I’m putting the package together right now for Jason Lou y’all think I’m playing y’all think I’m playing Dave Chappelle race listen I’m put I’m putting the package together for him right listen bro we got this I’m coming last night what he traed me for Diddy one give up Diddy for me there one kid on our team the only man in America well maybe not now one kid on our little league team got his ears pierced and one of the other kids was like when’d you get your ears pierced and I I thought he was going to say like be not nice to him because of it I’m like who cares leave him alone doesn’t matter but he’s like no he’s got drip or whatever I think he said drip yeah and I was like so I said to the other kid is that good or bad what is that no I was going to tell you next time like the cops hit you on the radar gun they pull you over they like you was going such and such be like no that’s cat that’s cat you got to stand no business that’s cap I I would love to me right there on the spot by the way no comment I’m so glad I just caught myself by the way this is coming up because Earl mentioned before the show from the Chappelle show when they did the race draft yeah which was a very funny but the two other things that that stand out when I think about the Chappelle show everybody thinks about whatever they think about is the when they when they did the real world when he did his version of the real world I don’t remember that you remember that [Laughter] one it was it was one white guy living in the house and he brought his girlfriend over and his roommates like staring at the girlfriend it was so funny it made me think about Kyle that’s on uh good morning football cuz he was actually on the real world KY BR it made me think about that skit made me think about C and then the third one um is when Chappelle played a he was blind the characters playing and he was ahead of one of the groups of the KKK cuz he he thought he right I think he’s the most brilli that dude is hilarious he’s the most brilliant comic in America it’s what’s funny is I don’t I I like his standup but it’s not my favorite I love him but I Lov that show more than his stand up I love his stand up I think he is like you he he’s brilliant he has a way of making you laugh but educating you at all in the same time yeah so he is he I’m listen I’m not going to deny he not for everybody though no but I like the show more than his stand up Chris Rock standup is going down yeah he has not been as good he needed Will Smith to hit him that’s the only to keep him relevant he probably need somebody else to punch him this year that is pretty harsh yeah I’m I’m not a Chris Rockford but Dave Chappelle we went and saw him uh not last year when Joe was inducted but the prior summer um Dave Chappelle did a show at faucet Stadium or whatever they’re calling it now and my wife and I went down there and saw remember that phenomenal phenomenal he’s terrific Nate barassi is my favorite standup right now yeah that’s my wife he’s hilarious she loves him and what’s odd about that is shows are like sold out and outrageous I know what’s odd is there’s two things about him that are usually things I don’t care for one he’s from the south yeah and two he’s he’s a clean he’s actually a pretty clean comic he doesn’t curse no but he’s hysterical and you know who’s grown on me I didn’t like him when I first like started and now I’m like really into him is Jim Gaffigan yeah he was actually hot a few years ago he’s kind of when he was hot I was not into him now I like him Tom saguro I like I really like Tom saguro I don’t know if I’ve heard him oh yeah you was on the roast he was on the Netflix roast yeah he was been BR kryer I’m not a Cher I do not like BR kryer either his best friend I don’t like uh what’s his name that Italian dude that everybody loves I can’t stand I Sebastian Maniscalco I don’t like him at all everybody loves him I’m sorry he is hilarious my in-w I don’t like my whole wife here’s what like him I don’t like the comics that their whole gig is making fun of their wives or whatever I find that boring it’s been done a million times before hey we’ll talk comedy in overtime I going to at the Super Chat go ahead super chats uh first one comes from Brody’s bottom line he sent two but the first one in terms of the Dak for disan trade he says bowl and Jason are you serious dot dot dot yes I mean just stop it stop it because as Jason said if Deshawn Watson let’s say Atlanta because that was the other team he was close to being tra to or the Saints whatever if Deshawn Watson had spent the last two years in Atlanta and done the exact same same thing he did here everything exactly the same played 11 games the suspension the injuries nothing different and we asked that question a poll would be 100% Dak Prescott well 99 to one no yes I would I believe him stop itop it it would be no you’re biased based on the fact that he’s here now you’re letting that influence he loved him when he was at Clemson I believe him nobody would want to trade for him after what he’s done the last two years you’re ESS yourself into what you’re essentially trading away a quarterback that you’re basically saying can’t win you a Super Bowl for a quarterback that can’t say when you were Super Bowl why would I say that why there’s nothing about that that can guarantee you play playoff you have more Super chats we already did there’s about Watson that can guarantee a Super Bowl exactly so why are you trading one unknown commodity for the other good every year but not good enough when it counts he’s been good they lost CU of him mostly last super chats uh Scott Wood says Bo by that rationale would you trade Watson for Baker right now no and last because Dak Prescott ceiling is higher than Baker I I I I’m convinced you definitely can’t win with Baker I don’t know that you can’t win with Dak I know he hasn’t had success in the playoffs but I still think you could win with with Dak I think it’s got to be a great situation but I think you have a much better chance of winning the playoffs with Dak than you do with Baker go last one Brody’s bottom line said in regards to a jimy butler trade can Miami throw in Terry Rosier I just looked Rosier makes like $17 million so that makes the money scary really tough really tough to try and all right make work real quick that’s it we’ll see you over time oh and overtime we’re talking comedians what else are we talking about we’ll figure it out we’re talking about means we don’t have anything Bo we’ll figure it out peace all right we’ll talk about it the next time ultimate Cleveland sport show [Music] oh [Music]

The 2024 NFL season is almost upon us and there’s an argument to be made that no player in the league is under more pressure to preform well this year than Deshaun Watson.

How will the Cleveland Browns QB handle that pressure?

The Cleveland Cavaliers may go big game hunting this offseason to improve its roster. What “ambitious” targets would you want Koby Altman and company to eye in on the most?

The Cleveland Guardians lost the rubber match last night to the Colorado Rockies. Logan Allen did not pitch well. Is there any reason for long-term concern there?

Plus, updates from the 2nd open media Browns OTA session of the summer.

  1. With the new kickoff n special team changes this year, I'd love to see Josh Cribbs n Phil Dawson bang the drum pre-game!

  2. You don't need big stats to win every game Bull. 32:57 you just don't understand that. You want DW4 to have every game with 300+ yards and 4 touchdowns. It ain't gone happen

  3. Bull that makes no sense. It's uncertainty around Dak as well as DW4 so why would you trade for him? That's dumb. Dakota has had loaded rosters and can't win in the playoffs but you'll trade Watson for him? Come on now yall just dumb with this one

  4. Bull just start saying you’re out on dw4 don’t say you’re waiting for another year. You’re totally out on him just be real lol

  5. Can Bull ever shut the hell up long enough for someone to finish their statements without him butting in….so frigging annoying!!!It's a panel ass clown everyone should be heard, without his loud mouth always butting in….and nobody can have an opinion if he don't like it….

Earl can be god awful, but when he says IMO, that means it's his opinion and don't need Bulls permission to have one….

  6. Ultimate Cleveland/Cubs/Bengalis sports show smh 😂…. Change the name or cast…. Nothing ultimate Cleveland about it

  7. Dak is a clear upgrade from Watson. Dak was 2nd in mvp voting last year. And Deshaun ranks 53rd in pff grade among qualified passers over the last two years. Dak has won a playoff game in the last 2 years and has twice as many playoff wins as deshaun. Dak was a probowler last year too. Dak ranks higher than deshaun in every per game stat since 2021. Stop being silly yall. Know one should think watson is better than prescott.
