tripping obviously um guaranteed it’s coming back to Dallas for game six says Ricky his perk oh uh oh you got someone already timing in that’s JJ JJ you know I gotta talk about you tomorrow right okay be nice we are GNA talk about what else we gonna talk about Richard are you gonna go talk about it too talk about what KK you just said we don’t have basketball NBA basketball for the next seven days so start us off reactions comments thoughts questions let’s talk about this series before we jump into the finals you want me to go first yeah perk I’m waiting on you well one one I was wrong okay let me say that I was wrong I was wrong as hell I thought this game was going six back to Dallas but Luca had other plans okay shout out to the Minnesota timber wolves they did have a hell of a season okay but they they disappointed me you know what I knew this game was G I knew this game the way it started it was going to be [ __ ] up okay Luca started off for Dallas offensively doing his thing and Minnesota started off running their offense through Rudy okay he was leading in the first time out he was leading the team in shot attempts and and the problem I have is this okay it’s the fact that he’s he was hunting for the ball like it wasn’t like it was oh on a pick and roll action no he was like literally hunting for the ball so I’m not gonna sit up here and Bash Rudy and blame him for this loss thank you I’m not I’m not Minnesota just got they ass kicked Kyrie Irving and Luca came came in with it on their mind and they did what superstars supposed to do on the road they put this team on their back I mean they body not just their back body and Carri these [ __ ] into the finals yeah that that that’s what you got to say okay so did just look like from the get Luca there was conversation before the series who is going to be the best player in the series and Luca he just wanted to leave no doubt that there’s levels to this I think Kyrie was showing from the beginning that there were levels to this Kudos and the the Turner team kept saying it looked like they just didn’t want to get swept there’s a lot of conversation about their energy and I think they did they didn’t play with the same fire tonight that they did in in game four they didn’t they didn’t play with the same energy from the get like their intensity I I Minnesota didn’t play with that and Dallas just came out and was just like oh this there’s levels to this if y’all aren’t going to stay at that same level Dallas just continue to play what you got to say perk I I disagree I thought they energy was there I thought what they did was they cut off the head of the snake I thought early Dallas was like Anthony Edwards you’re not about to do what you want to do against us they trapped them early and Minnesota has some dumbass turnovers man like you said this the other day they are the dumbest team in the NBA and it’s crazy they’re the dumbest team left they’re the dumbest team left now there’s Dum teams okay well add that part to it okay the dumbest team left right those costly turnovers everyone trying to make plays and what I thought Minnesota got what they got themselves in a bind was that it was too much individual basketball right like everybody was trying to do it by themselves everyone was trying to make the Home Run pass the hockey s went out of the window it was like no I’m G to create I’m G to drop the dims I’m gonna make it do what it do but this was all about the Dallas Mavericks this was all about Luca and this was all about Kyrie this was all about Derek Lely this was all about Daniel Gafford this was all about Jason kid yeah how impr impressive because we obviously talked about this a couple of games ago with our reaction you obviously mentioned that Kyrie and Luca versus Kat and ant Kyrie and Luca outscored cat and ant in this series by 76 you see what Happ hold up real quick you see what happen when your kids go to the store and they just look out for daddy bring you snacks that was my seven-year old he just bought me this just not he he honestly he trying to take you out he trying to take you is that a Crunch bar daddy daddy here’s some more sugar is that a Crunch bar yeah yeah it is a Crunch bar n crunch Bo and the Dr cup jealous no lie also wants to know if you were given 43 or did you actually choose that number I actually chose why don’t Woodford what is happening well yes anyways back to JJ that friend he he he prob some family time I’m not drunk again y’all I don’t even drink Richard talking a little slurry they’re on you now all right back to this they outscore him by 76 okay in this series both Kye and Luca individually outscored cat and Aunt individually having said that that was against the number one rated defense in the NBA this season wait yeah with with six minutes with six minutes to go Luca and Kyrie had outscored in the game the Timberwolves with six with six minutes too what are we watching what are we watching no we watched what a lot of people so it was so many different conversations going on right that was going on through my mind I was you know in my mind I was thinking about when J kid said you know Luca is in the same conversation with like Braun Kobe and Mike and then I was thinking about what Stan Van Gundy was saying on the call the most talented back court in the history of the NBA and how people were actually calling them crazy right and it wasn’t a crazy take because takes because when we’re watching what these guys are doing I mean offensively name me a better back court that’s more talented than these guys huh they did specify though they did specify so are you talking about best backcourt duo ever or are you talking about just from an offensive standpoint roll the ball out yeah Talent offensive standpoint what what RJ riches sideways no no no I’m saying skill from a skill standpoint yes I agree 100% from a skill standpoint from a scoring when we said scoring I don’t know I still put Stephen Clay that’s f as a scoring like don’t and scoring like yes Stephen Clay did it with shooting but shooting is a part of scoring right and the numbers that those dudes were putting up consistently over a decade and breaking numbers and breaking records Luca and Kyrie ain’t breaking records yet they scoring a lot of points but they not breaking records and those boys were setting and they still own records clay with 14 threes Steph with like threes in a season and all the like consecutive games so scoring if we’re just saying scoring it’s still steeping play let’s give them the respect if we’re talking about skill from an offensive skill standpoint it is Big I’m agreeing with you I’m just giving some more context okay let’s let’s get to the meat and potatoes CA something they all gave like a speech at the end the whole room was crying it was incredible that’s the moments right there JJ these kids these seniors they play it like Carnegie Hall dude it was it was crazy championship does he deserve to be in that top 75 perk are we talking about top 75 basketball players or top 75 resumés top 75 basketball players yeah easy right right that’s what I’m saying yeah I know you want clarification but I’m just saying like no I mean look when the top 75 list came out I got myself into some trouble that’s okay do that explain that explains that very calculated remark uh by by JJ okay were you surprised were you surprised because this was the first game that I really kind of looked at with the Timberwolves and thought okay I think that this will be the game they come out and show some Force maybe they lose back to Dallas in game six but this was the game that I was like okay they got the monkey off their back they gutted this one out this next game they’ll get some juice shoot the ball well they’ll they’ll get they’ll get going here’s my surprise with the Timberwolves the more I watch this series and again only watch the fourth quarter night the more I watch this series and the more I dove into the film and R.J you and I talked about this a little bit today the more I realized how poor the Timberwolf spacing is and you can’t have bad spacing against size and length you just can’t especially if you’re going to have lineups out there with only three or four Shooters at a time now they had one lineup I think it was Conley McDaniels Edwards uh Nel Alexander Walker and Nas Reed that is their sort of version of an all shooting lineup where they can actually play five out spacing even with that lineup they were undisciplined in their spacing if they had goar and Kyle Anderson on the floor oh it was gross was gross so do you think they should have made an adjustment early in the series and went small I mean I think what happens perk you know this like you’ve been in film sessions you lose a game in the last three minutes what do you what do you watch the next day you watch your execution in the last three minutes we gotta be right so they got they got one in game four they got one in game four but again it’s it’s simple stuff perk it’s Carl Anthony towns giving the ball up to Anthony Edwards in the slot sitting there on the left wing 10 feet away and not getting to the corner like what are you doing man right it’s simple stuff like that so let me say this I and Dallas Dallas floods so well they flood the box so well yeah they do they do a great job of moving Kyrie out of the low man he’s anytime he’s the low man they move him out so you’re going against three big Defenders every single time if you’re trying to create something off the dribble well I’m glad you brought up spacer because it brought me back to my Oklahoma City days right and we were playing the Miami Heat and we had just knocked off the San Antonio Spurs and we were down 02 in that series to the Spurs and I was getting cooked in the pick and roll in the drop coverage I was getting flamed like Tony par mono job was busting my ass I remember St huh no seriously what no I believe you I said sounds about right shut up and I remember Steve cerr like calling me out on the broadcast he was like on the playby play because I went back and watched the game so [ __ ] pissed me off so anyway Scott Scott Brooks was like all right we gonna switch everything like Perkin Serge y’all gonna have to guard we end up switching all Pig and rolls I end up sliding my feet we won that series now we get to the Miami series Chris BOS is stretching the floor right Miami Heat loading up and at the time people were calling for me to go to the bench and so that KD and Russ could have more room to operate start James hard and move Sergey Baka to the five and Scott Brooks would not he was so loyal to me that he would not put me on the bench and he kept me in the starting lineup and now when I think back on it on some real [ __ ] he should have put my ass on the start on on the bench because they would have had a better chance of actually winning we would had a better chance of winning that series just being real I could say that now but I couldn’t say that back then no do you think do you think it would have been I’m not disagreeing with you on that do you think it also should have been a point for Scott Brooks to not call a post up for you every first play of every game no you that was the that was the that was the the worst kept secret in the entire NBA hey JJ I got one question but I need you to do me a favor yeah can you can you can you turn your phone sideways can you turn your phone sideways oh yeah I can do that yeah yeah okay both sides porzingis Kyrie like where these guys are what do you think is the most most interesting storyline like just storyline not like who’s going to win I want to know what your story line that you’re going to find intriguing going in the most interesting oh man I you’re asking me storylines I’m not on first take right I’m not about how about this are you youre on think the Kye story line after he stepped on lucky I’m just asking you that not first real talk no no no I I I think if you’re talking about porzingis and Kyrie the more interesting thing to me is is Kyrie going back to Boston not not K J Jay kid was didn’t coach KP in Dallas yeah right um and I think KP was traded there and was then traded away from there Kyrie opted not to resign there so like more interesting thing in that is Kyrie going back to Dallas however I would say this I think the most interesting player not the most important but the most interesting player in the series that could swing the series considerably is is KP for sure oh way to go because all the things we’re talking about with spacing I mean whether you’re playing out at the five Off the Bench or KP in the starting group Boston has spacing and Spades and KP unlocks everything for them so I think he’s the most important not most important but most interesting player in this series Dallas is I know it’s regular season I get it and it was just two matchups KP actually did not play in Dallas when they went back this year Kyrie did play in Boston 19 he was one of seven nine of 23 but Boston dominated these matchups 138 110 how many KP have that game how many how many KP have that game 24 points eight for 14 from the field four for eight from three yep yep J after the trade but Derrik Jones Jr and Gafford did not start that game so it was it was a different team it was still a different Dallas team I’m just talking about the players in general of KP and Kyrie yeah the the the team is so different even this team right now this version of Dallas versus the start of the postseason they are exponentially B better and more defined in their roles and who they are than they were a month ago if we’re talking about a couple of months ago you could really thow that [ __ ] out I’m looking at oh sorry you got a perk I’m looking at Luca right I’m looking at Luca that’s the storyline because here’s the thing I understand J kid wasn’t the coach then but Jason Tatum Jaylen Brown if they could win with Christoper zingas Luca you couldn’t win with him is it tension there is it beef there hold on perk they didn’t they got Drew holiday I understand get that part but still and all like it don’t take much to light a fire under Luca ass right like going into that environment he wanted that [ __ ] tonight like he wanted all that stuff with Snoop sitting on the sideline like Luca is just like kg [ __ ] could not even be directed towards him but it’s directed towards him in his mind that gets him going that’s a dangerous player to play against y’all can fix y’ face crazy all y’all want I’m telling y’all this man why is he yelling at us why I’m say I’m just saying this man lives he lives for like these type of moments he like he seemed like to me I don’t know Luca personally but he seems like to me that he could make up and look across and be like man I don’t like that [ __ ] and he don’t even know that guy and then just have it in his mind to go out there and do what he did tonight okay re really quickly really quickly this is this is my this is my my thing that I find most interesting I truly believe that Jason Tatum he’s been playing okay for Jason Tatum Luca and Kyrie have played better basketball he’s been they played better basketball I think Jason Tatum is the third best player in this series playing the playing the third best going into this I think Luca’s been playing better I think Kyrie’s been playing better consistently over the postseason so I’m GNA say this going into this series Boston it has the best players three why do you why do you why do why are you when you you were not a jump shooter so why are you judging a player that has multiple skill sets only on his jump shot I’m I’m not I’m not purely judging 31 31 10 and six in the one of three players averaging 25 10 and five during the playoffs one of three players you think okay so Kyrie’s Kyrie’s made some jump shots you think he has a bigger I’m I’m being serious you think he has a bigger impact night toight than Jason Tatum who’s getting guarded by the way by the best defender every night night to night do I think that they who has maximized their impact more I I I would still say Kyrie KY disagree I’m with RJ on this one uh JJ for the simple fact when you look at when you look ATS no I am I am J on this one I’m with RJ look we’re talking Sports it’s 11:13 at night I know that’s the great thing about it and we got you on here I love it look here’s the thing about Kyrie Kyrie is doing it on both ends dog like Kyrie age that Kyrie did it on in a Clipper series when James was cooking early he went guarded James all right when he was when they played against Oklahoma City Shay still SGA did what he did but in the fourth quarter Kyrie said I wanted that tonight Kyrie was on Anthony Edwards now Anthony Edwards got it going late and he had some crucial buckets but Kyrie like was like n Luca you start the game off I got Anthony Edwards I know we’re GNA double team him but I got it and I’m just saying his impact on both ends of the floor has been more impactful than Jason Tatum one could argue in my opinion Luca had a hell of a series this series I thought in game six was his best game in the Oklahoma series but Kyrie has been the best player for Dallas consistently throughout the postseason I’m not gonna agree with that but okay I mean you got his numbers go but what I’m saying is JJ go look at it’s not it’s not numbers though perk it’s it’s not numbers again dude if Luca is getting guarded by the best guy every night and is getting blitzed every night of course if you are Kyrie Irving you are going to cook it’s the same thing with Jaylen Brown who took the matchup who took the matchup in the Indiana Pacers series no no JJ Smith did n Smith did who took the match up in the Cleveland series okoro did who took the matchup in the first round series Caleb Martin did Jaylen Browns like I get what you’re saying I’m not talking about stats I’m talking the about the impact of JJ but to your to to your point to your point when I had Vince Carter on my team I was getting the second best defender on on a lot of nights and on some nights I was getting the third best defender because they would push the first or second on J kid and then they would put him on Vince so then I got to cook but I I guess the point that I’m making is I I look at this version of Kyrie and how he’s playing the game how he’s managing the game how he’s knocking down late game shots and playing well I’m look we’re just breaking it down and I think Kyrie has play I’m obsessed with this version Kyrie I think it’s incredible okay so is he playing a better version of basketball right now than Jason Tam you’re saying Jason Tatum’s the other things that he’s doing within the game still outweigh the way Kyrie has played shot the ball late game all of those things that’s fair I I’m just telling you my opinion is that okay oh I I totally I I totally understand your opinion and your opinion is valid I want to validate your opinion you know what valid I want to feel heard I just saw Kyrie I saw Kyrie I think he dominated it was game two in Oklahoma City uh series he only had nine points but he tied a playoff career high with 11 assists and he controlled the whole damn game I think PJ Washington had like 29 in that game and it was all because of Kyrie dictating the pace and doing every single thing how many how many how many how many assists is Luca averaging for the playoffs just Aver I’m not saying listen listen this is this is this is what I’m trying back to the game on a non-shooting night no no but what I’m saying does that every night what are we talking about we’re not talking but here’s the thing though JJ this is what I’m saying let’s not act like Luka I have a question I have a serious question because I’ve seen this now for like three years and it is the weirdest thing to me why why what is the inclination for all of us to just like not acknowledge the best player on every team and just be like hey you know what the best player didn’t go for 45 so the real MVP is this guy like what that’s not B you guys play basketball it’s not basketball come on man listen this is not this is there were people that wanted to vote Andrew Wiggins MVP of the finals in 2022 last year in the Conference Finals oh Caleb Martin’s the Eastern Conference Finals MVP no he’s not man stop [Laughter] it stop wait so you’re saying that Andre Iguodala shouldn’t have won his Finals MVP is that what you’re saying or I’ve said that when was that 2015 I’ve said that for nine years okay for n years L is averaging nine assists in the playoffs I’ve said that for nine years all right guys I gotta go good to see you the best we have to bully get here thanks for joining JJ um wow okay you’re welcome people you see what we do we’re gonna have more guests we beg the man to jump on yeah um Rich so you actually believe because a lot of comments to the right you actually believe that Dallas will have the two best players in this series I think this right am I am I starting a little [ __ ] maybe but I think this the fact that it’s a conversation I’m not saying that necessarily better than than Jason Tatum let’s not be disrespectful and make it seem like you put Kyrie at his best game and Jason Tatum in his best game I don’t know who’s coming out of that matchup but it it ain’t it’s closer than people think like Kyrie this is don’t forget who Kyrie is he’s hit game-winning shots in game seven he there is no question of his late game performance don’t act like if you’re Boston when Kyrie got that ball with five seconds y’all are far more nervous than Dallas is when when Jason tatums got it with five seconds ago look Boston fans Boston fans are nervous right now oh and if they tell you otherwise they’re line there’s no way in hell that you just finished watching this game and watching what Luca and Kyrie did on the Road in the way that they just handled Minnesota and not saying that they’re they’re not scared that like I ain’t look man K KP is a problem I think he’s gonna be healthy too I think he’s gonna he is a problem I think he’s gonna be healthy he is they play a different style but I’m G tell you know what else is a problem Jason kid and have and the best thing that happened for the Dallas Mavericks Aly was that they ended this series tonight really because now they’re going to get in that film room and this team that I see that is so disciplined defensively that has the Personnel to guard because Kyrie Irving is an underrated Defender Derek Jones Jr he’s done an excellent job of Defender PJ Washington and I understand Boston play a certain type of way but at the end of the day those block shots the way that Derek ly and Daniel G for this anchoring that defense and they’re agile now let’s not act like they can’t slide them puppies and when you get by them let’s not act like they don’t have Chase downs I’m picking Boston to win this series in seven okay but I’m just saying I was gonna say I want your predictions you got some Boston fans in here saying that they feared Miami more than because because y’all are in the because they are in the uh they’re in the Eastern Conference so you see them more ah okay so wait hang on let me clarify perk you just told us last live that when you pick them in seven it’s because you’re not confident either way not I’m not it’s really a pick them but I’m you know I’m a look I’m picking all the pressure is on Boston and they got two dudes in my opinion why is it on Boston because because because truly truly in my opinion and I’ve said this often sometimes it’s your second year you’re together but for Dallas this is still they’re still playing with house money they’re still playing with house money they’re not supposed to be here they’re quote unquote ahead of schedule like if they would have lost in the Conference Finals of Denver everyone would have said but they have now made it further than they ever have Boston is one of those teams that has been here so many times they’ve been to the Conference Finals five times this be there what second time in the NBA Finals so the pressure is mounting on them Jason Tatum is about to sign the bigest contract Luca is about to sign if I look at which team it would be a bigger failure for to walk out of this with an L 100% the Boston Celtics who have been the best team in the league all year long had a cakewalk to get here and now the pressure really truly starts for them because they’re at the Finish Line against the best team and the healthiest team that they have faced they’ve always had a room for error in every single Series this is the first one going into that they don’t you’re talking in terms of results not the actual match I got you allly let me say this you and RJ you know it was times during that Celtic Indiana series that I saw the Boston Celtics go zone right because they couldn’t stop they couldn’t stop nart and they couldn’t stop Pascal seaka they had problems they had problems with those guys sweet Jesus I don’t know what the hell they to do with these listen I’m telling you right now I’m telling you right now I can’t wait for Thursday to come and RJ said this when you said this last week hey Boston fans leave Kyrie alone leave him alone this version they’re not listening to you okay that’s fine because your point perk I’m saying because of what you said he and a coach yeah how about that has been done many places I can’t believe JJ just walked in here and stomped over all of us said he disagreed with all of our takes JJ JJ’s never been accused of being
