Don’t become jaded. Don’t lose that optimism. Would it have made how it turned out feel any better if you hadn’t allowed yourself to feel hopeful back then? No.

If you didn’t know Doc Rivers would be a fucking disaster the minute he was hired I don’t really know what to say

And this is coming from someone who didn’t hate the Tobias signing at the time

Tbh I’d argue you were only wrong about Doc. Also Doc at that point had only flamed out really in the clippers right? So not like it was a known bad decision.

I say fuck the haters. Dynasty starts next year…Starting with signing Trae young *runs out the back door*

Look at that time everyone was on the same page more or less, doc rivers was the best available nba coach at that time, could we have tried someone with no prior experience, sure maybe. Also morey is still significantly better than what we had during that Elton brand- bret brown stretch.
As someone already said, it’s better to be optimistic and hopeful, constantly hating and being jaded is more tiring and worse for that individual.🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

  5. I was hyped about Doc, Tobias and even Al Horford to an extent lol. Also had faith in Simmons, Fultz, and Thybulle for a long time.

  6. Let’s be fair here, despite Doc’s shortcomings (before, with, and after us), we absolutely did have one of the best coaching staffs in the entire league and hiring Morey was a game-changer. We had like 2-3 former head coaches on his staff.

Everyone here loves to play captain hindsight, but it was something to be excited about. Also, considering the other options, Doc was one of the best coaches available at the time. He’s done a shitload to hurt his reputation from his time with and after us, but he wasn’t viewed nearly as negatively as he is now.
