and with the NBA Finals matchup being set game one next Thursday in Boston playing for the Larry O’Brien trophy right there in the studio looking all shiny and pretty all right here we go the Celtics back in the finals for the 23rd time seeking to become the first franchise with 18 championships the Mavericks returning to the finals for the third time in franchise history and are looking for their second title as for this season the Celtics have been the best team all year they finished with 6 four wins seven more than any other team Boston cruising through the east playoffs with a 12-2 record and a sweep in the Conference Finals the Mavericks well they were the five seed in the west but they’ve been a different team since the trade deadline they had the fourth best record of any team over that time and took down the first third and fourth seeds in the west playoffs and Dallas has been led by that man Luca donic he was the top scorer in the NBA with over 33 points a game and with Kyrie Irving he brought Dallas to the finals he’s the highest scorer to lead his team to the finals since Rick Barry back in 1967 his Warriors lost in the finals that year uh back to Boston for a second talking about how they’re going to play Luca it is new on Sports Center I think LCA goes at his own pace I don’t think uh luga really gets sped up so yeah you can try as uh as much as possible I would say the same thing with Kai I think they that’s what makes them great is that they um control their own Tempo they control their own pace the way that they play sometimes times you might think that you haven’t sped up and then they throw a l to Daniel Gafford or Lively so this is the position that we want to be in this is what we’ve been talking about since you know the beginning of training camp and uh we’re very fortunate to be in this position you see so many uh Championship runs uh you don’t know how they’re going to go some teams have gone 4-1 sometimes it’s gone to seven sometimes what I just on here with you a couple days ago sure were and didn’t didn’t I just didn’t I just guarantee that this series was going six gam you did I thought Minnesota was going to win that I know their row listen what those two are capable of doing you have to be very very disciplined you have to be on the string defensively in order to try to at least slow these two down Luca Don he must have heard you a couple of days the NBA finals are indeed set Mavericks and Celtics game one of the series set to get underway in Boston next Thursday 8:30 p.m. eastern Time on ABC Dallas was already about this match up with Boston after they took down the wolves in the Western Conference Finals last night Dallas with some High Praise of the guys in green they’re the best team in the NBA they had by far the best record they have some incredible weapons on offense and defense so we’re going to have have to play really hard and amazing basketball to beat them Boston shoots the three at a high rate they have a lot of talented players uh they’ve been there before they have the experience uh they’re well coached this is another great test two of the best teams uh left but when you look at what Boston does by spreading you out and then on the defensive end they’re going to compete defensively so this is a great test for us my guy NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins back with us as the Mavericks and Celtics are getting set for the NBA Finals perk as as we showed earlier Boston won both regular season matchups against Dallas so what if anything can you take from those games and apply to this series uh you know what we go believe that where is at in the regular season but when you talk about a broad for it all you got to damn it damn it get your popcorn ready because this series is about to be a movie it’s too many story lines that happen organically right you have Kyrie Irving that’s returning back to Boston right going against his old team a hostile environment that hates him right that does not like him at all then all of a sudden you got Chris porzingis who’s going to probably be back on the floor going against his former team in the Dallas mat and then you have Luca who’s going to feel some type of way because he had Christoper zingas on his team at one point and couldn’t get anything done so when I look at this matchup look it’s going to be a high scoring uh matchup because of the Duos of Jason Tatum and jayen brown paired against Kyrie Irving and Luca but this is going to be musty TV Jay must yeah indeed there’s a lot going on in this series now you mentioned Chris abs porzingis hasn’t played the game since April 29th because of that calf injury he did drop 24 against Dallas and Boston’s win back on March the 1 so what impact do you think he can have on this series if he is healthy well he’s the most important player in this series to be honest with you uh Boston need them if they don’t have Christoper zingis they’re not winning this series in my opinion and we know what he’s capable of bringing offensively a 72 73 guy that could stretch the floor also he was one of the best post up guys in the League this year being able to take advantage of those mismatches but when you’re going against Athletic Bigs like Lively and gford you’re going to need his presence defensively and the way that christop porzingis is able to alter shots and block shots the Celtics are going to need that especially going against the Dallas Mavs yeah and he can drop the three ball too so perk the big question who do you think wins this series bro well it’s going to be a broad for it all they got a lot of beef and they going to make hamburgers but I’m going with the Celtics and seven I feel like this is Jason tat moment I feel like he will outplay Luca and he
