[Music] here’s your wake up call Luca unbelievable first quarter Kevin Harland take it away comes another heat check from from Luca Bic again another three got it he’s a flamethrower he is on fire 20 points the dawn Luca donic putting on an absolute shooting Clinic here in this first quarter so look this is a morning to celebrate what Luca has done no question about it but we also must not Overlook what Anthony Edwards did in this postseason he is on the potential trajectory for superstardom second person age 22 or younger with 400 points 100 rebounds and 100 assists in a single postseason you see only LeBron had ever done it and while his play was Sensational he knows something changed in this series we never clicked all together as a team in this series not you not even one game I think that was the main thing like no like um the last two series we was all clicking at one time making shots and stuff we wasn’t clicking at one time now I just said we’ll be back next year do you think this is something that you just have to go through experience to kind of build on um unfortunately is going through a with a loss but I guess so you know the era of the super team sort of disabused us of the idea of what the NBA has always been which is that the great ones they you see them they’re coming they’re knocking at the door and they finally break it in and so maybe this is the more traditional route for Anthony Edwards I’m just going to say this to you perk this this is the morning to celebrate Luca and Kyrie and the Mavericks and look ahead to the Celtics all of that and we will certainly do that but I have not changed my mind one bit the future of the NBA is Anthony Edwards and if I had to bet your money on it I I would bet that in the next 10 years he wins more titles than anybody else in the league what do you think of that big perk and guess what green if we go to go if you go to go down damn it I’m going down with you cuz I’m right there with you when it comes down to being the best young leader in the game that is Anthony Edwards he was the leader of that team now I know one could say oh they had a veteran and Mike connley yes he was a key part to that before as Anthony Edwards leading the charge not just on the floor but off the floor holding himself accountable holding other guys accountable being the extension of Coach PCH that was a beautiful thing to see and he was right they never clicked in this series because you know why as a young team when you have some success everybody start to feel like they’re the reason that they’re that you’re having success right you start seeing guys do things that they’re not supposed to do that’s why we always preach be a star in your role you see Jay McDaniels he started to want to show the world that he could take guys off the dribble and be a playmaker we saw Rudy he would not get his big ass out of the paint kept asking for the ball trying to post up mismatch this is not what you do right but this is a growing process they were make it trying to make the Home Run pass too many times the hockey assist wasn’t enough but this is something that you grow from every young player Jordan uh LeBron Kobe LCA they all went through this so Anthony Edwards will get better from this and the Minnesota timberwoods will get better from this Monica and again I I this is just fun Allan is rubbing it in my face all morning long cuz he had Luca yesterday and I had Edwards and it’s a very tough day to make the ant argument but I’m not backing down in the next 10 years if I had to bet on the one player who’s going to win the most championships in the entire sport I’m betting on that kid what do you think what what do we say about Anthony Edwards this morning Monica I don’t just based on history Grinny I don’t know if I can give you that like I think we’re at this unique place in the league in terms of parody like we’ve had a bunch of different champions in the last five years um but I do think that he will get one right I’m just not sure if I think he’ll have the most I mean the most could be two who knows anyway um that’s neither here or there look ultimately Anthony Edwards is 22 the Catalyst of your team is 22 this team had to learn they had to make mistakes they got to learn from mistakes as I was listening to perk I hadn’t really thought about them being out of character as much as I thought that they were genuinely fatigued but perk’s right when you kind of run it back in your mind and for a team that takes so much pride in what they do defensively to be defeated or I guess your defense not to be as effective it took energy from them it took wind out of their sales and so to me they were pressing on both sides of the basketball particularly through the first three games which was essentially the series here’s something though because what Wendy said earlier in the show is something we have to take heed to Anthony Edwards has no control over this because we have to see who’s the owner of this team going forward and how much they’re willing to invest in that market in keeping a team that is Championship caliber around him the right pieces around around him all that stuff is going to be very important because you don’t know how much of the payroll they want to carry with certain players and there’s a difficult decision to be made about whether or not his number two is the right number two in Carl Anthony towns there’s a lot going on here so Anthony Edwards can still be a great player but if he’s not on a team that is continuing to build he’s got the coach but he’s got to have the players around him why perk why go ahead big first of all first of all let me say this Anthony L was his eye candy to the rest of the league everybody wants to play with Anthony Edwards and they should want to play with Anthony Edwards when it comes down to going P up with a guy that’s a winner look you could put me greeny Wendy and Monica alongside Anthony Edwards and he’s going to win basketball games he’s that he’s that special when it comes down to Carl Anthony towns Wendy said it earlier in the show they’re not going to find better Talent than him he is the top he’s one of the most talented off offensive bigs in the game right alongside yic right alongside Anthony Davis now is he better than those guys is one could argue but far as his offensive skill set it’s that now I get it they’re going to go through their financial problems and they’re having a battle of the uh the ownership group and I would be battling to keep the team if I’m Glen Taylor too because you got Anthony Edward but at the end of the day who people want to play with this guy and Minnesota Tim Woods are going to do everything in their power to make sure he have the to be sucessful finish it up Wendy they have to Great Anthony Edwards on a curve he’s 22 I was so glad we had that graphic about what LeBron in 2007 look at where Jordan was at 22 he that was the year he had a broken foot he did he didn’t play he really didn’t get going by the time he was in his fourth year in the league like antis he was the MVP so that was age 24 LeBron age 22 went to the finals Luca age 22 went to the conference finals he’s on that that path that’s what we’re talking about not where he is now but where he’s going to be [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]
