NBA Analyst Says Nets’ Mikal Bridges Should Be Cavaliers’ Dream Trade Target

"…A lineup of Mitchell, Max Strus, Bridges, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen would be a nightmare to try and score against and puts the ball in Mitchell’s hands more on the offensive end as well.”

I mean I agree, seems to be the only guy this sub actually likes

I dont get this trade for Brooklyn. Now you have a lineup of

    Garland

    Cam Thomas

    ????

    Dorian Finney Smith

    Nic Claxton

That has lottery team written all over it and you just traded for the sake of trading. They trade 2 starters for 1, only get a little bit younger, it doesnt resolve any sort of team fit issues, doesn’t really make them better, doesnt help them tank. I just dont see the point for Brooklyn as constructed.

I think everyone knows this, but the Nets are in a very weird spot that makes it difficult to justify trading him away.

They don’t own their own picks, so they don’t benefit from tanking.

They don’t have the assets to make any win-now moves.

If they’re really high on Garland, then maybe there is something to work with; but they may also want to try and pump up Bridges’ trade value before (if) they decide to make him available.

I would love Mikal on this team but if the Nets weren’t gonna trade him for their Rockets picks back I dunno if they’d take a Garland trade. Garland is more promising than anyone on the Rockets at this point, but the Nets really should be looking for draft capital to rebuild, DG doesn’t seem to fit their timeline. I like his fit in NO or SA more, even if the players we’d get back aren’t as good as Mikal (yes he’s better than Ingram imo)

The problem is Bridges is the dream target of like 5 other teams and most of them have more assets than we do
