I feel like I’m in the minority but I think Bridges is an upgrade from Brooks. On both ends. On defense, just by a bit. On offense, a good amount. He has a better “bag” than Brooks and better tempered lol.
But I’m not trying to trade a bunch of stuff for him because Brooks is good enough to keep if teams are asking too much.

Sounds like Stone may be trying to leverage Memphis interest in the #3 pick to get Marks to quit bluffing about a realistic package for Mikal. Stone won’t get bullied into a bad deal, he’ll just make a different deal and then next time Marks wants to negotiate he’ll have to take Stone more seriously.

I’m coming around to the idea of having bridges, depending on what the trade is. Wouldn’t want to trade any of the core 6, but would be fine trading brooks and picks. Bridges is an upgrade over brooks, period. The fact that his contract / age doesn’t line up perfectly with our core is fine. He will be a solid player and put us in a better position for the next two years. Or we could trade him next year when he’s an expiring.
Brooks shot crazy hot from 3 to start the year then fell back down to earth. Bridges is a consistently good 3pt shooter which we need. Beyond that much better offensive weapon than brooks. Solid defender too. Is he a great first option? No. But thats not what we want any ways. He’ll be a great piece alongside sengun, FVV, Jalen etc. if he can score 15-20 on good efficiency and play good d, we have a really nice starting five, and lots of good lineups we can work with.
Feel like an amen, bridges, bari, tari, sengun/ Adams lineup would be pretty filthy
I don’t watch a ton of college ball, but have been paying a bit of attention to the current prospects in this draft. Sheppard and risacher seem like good possibilities, but that’s all they are, possibilities. And they could be years out from reaching that level. We are already working with multiple possibilities. Some more certain than others. Sengun we know is legit. Jalen has potential, but is definitely a possibility not a certainty. Bari and tari seem to be atleast steady contributors. Amen and Cam have tons of potential. But we’ll see this year and next what kind of jump they make.
It’s a lot of different outcomes from that group, and I realize it’s good to add more and more for law of averages type approach, but don’t think it’s bad to invest in a pretty sure thing

My understanding is that the Grizzlies have reached out to us about trading up to 3 from 9, but that the Rockets are holding out in a hope to move 3 for Bridges. There’s also been reporting though that the Rockets have lowered their value on Bridges since the trade deadline so they probably aren’t planning to give up a haul. The Nets seem stubborn about Bridges and I’d honestly be surprised if he gets moved here at this point.
I’m a little more interested in the thought of trading down with the Grizzlies. I think there’s still plenty of interesting players potentially at this spot- Cody Williams, Kel’el Ware, Jared McClain, Dalton Knecht, Rob Dillingham. At least one if not multiple guys will be there at 9 and I don’t know that the drop-off from Sheppard/Clingan is so huge that I wouldn’t love to acquire another asset. I’d probably consider just an unprotected future 1st to do it
