Chicago Bulls will be mov moving their broadcast partner officially at the start of the season the new chsn uh network is launching uh that will be carrying the Blackhawks Bulls and the white socks over there it’s going to be ran by standard media how you feeling about this Pat I mean it’s it’s another change we’ve been through these before right Chicago I mean we we were CSN it was Comcast sportset forever um and then it became NSN in in NBC Sports Chicago NBC Sports Chicago I went MSNBC on it it’s been a long day uh then it became NBC Sports Chicago and now we’re moving into a different network because Jerry wants to take uh his money elsewhere but listen my hope is here’s my big thing about this whole thing um the games are going to be what the games are going to be um but I hope that uh the new president over there uh Jason Coyle keeps his word with this because uh my thing last season was or for most years of NBA Sports Chicago is there wasn’t a lot of entertainment outside of the games I thought this was interesting where he said as we set out to design the network we begin and ended every discussion with a simple question what is best for our fans what’s the best approach to di uh to distribution how can we push the limits both in game and Studio production we plan to serve our fans on as many platforms and in as many markets as our rights allow all I all I say is this you who are shows me Hayes um chgo the millions of locked on podcasts that are out there right I don’t know if it’s Millions probably hundreds but uh yeah I mean like use us as the example that people always want their Sports content and the part that I felt NB uh NBC Sports Chicago always fell short on was there would be times when you turn on NBC Sports Chicago and it’d be like poker or horse racing or you know there’s you know what I’m saying like there’s something where you’re just like why isn’t there sports sign right now I’m watching NBC Sports Chicago and you got a vacuum commercial for 30 minutes cracking off you know I mean like I just felt like there was too little production put into things that the fans needed they had some phenomenal podcasts over there that would come on during the day and stuff like that but uh outside of that I just felt like there wasn’t much of a cater to the fan base that Chicago’s a city that wants to hear about sports all the time ‘s never a time where we’re sitting there at work at home whatever it is and we’re going yeah I don’t want to know what’s going on with the latest with my team so I think that invest in that um and the games are going to sell themselves the white socks suck so that’s not going to help you much the Bulls seem to be stuck in neutral so hopefully they’ll finally put it in drive and uh the Blackhawks have Conor Bard so make as much money as you can off of him yeah I mean it’s it’s it’s going to be interesting because the the contract doesn’t expire until October so literally we’re going to be still watching uh preseason games on NBC Sports Chicago which it’s going to be interesting to see what kind of Skeleton Crew they have and who they’re poaching and then uh when this regular season starts they’ll be moving over to the Chicago Sports Network so um I mean listen everything now is about digitizing and this is going to be something that is still over the air uh but they do have uh their apps and things as well they’re going to be in parts of Indiana Iowa Michigan and Wisconsin outside of just the state of Illinois so they’re going they’re launching with a pretty wide net and you know you’re still going to be able to get your games people I think that’s the most important thing and for those that are asking Stacy and Adam Amin will still be on it because they are contracted with the bulls not necessarily with NBC so yeah and I think use the fact that you have that many networks to an advantage you or that many that many spots that you’re hitting to an advantage um shout out to that that was wild uh I think that it means that can talk about more sportswise I think that it means that you can add more to the network sportswise of course we’re going to focal point in on our Chicago sports teams here but it’s it’s nothing crazy to have something that maybe fits different demographics or different sports fans in different basis is that’s how you grow this thing out that’s how you keep content on at all times and you know the the the way that uh a lot of these networks are thriving right now is about talking about more than just the local uh and being able to get get out to more people I think that there’s a lot that you can go into on this make sure you get you’re finding a way to get a sky some Sky conversation around because the WNBA conversation is cooking right now boy I tell you right now hey you eating over there you look like you eating good I mean listen Chicago Sky Central is killing it right now is all I can say so that’s all I can say I’m adding that to my intro also creator of Chicago Sky Central uh podcast and YouTube Pages um but yeah I mean listen the WNBA conversation is great and I hope at some point that they can get the sky off of Marquee and over to this man dog I that’s one thing and I all right let’s everybody breath because I don’t do this often thank you to Jer rydor understanding that Sports is for the people because a lot of what this is I mean he’s got the two controlling teams that probably are making a move in this and then the Blackhawks are kind of like well I mean we we roll they just roll with Jerry Jerry what you doing let’s roll everywhere we go we make money what’s roll friends but shout out to Jerry for for not I I just knew we were heading toward a paid service yeah I knew that this was going to be something that hey 20 bucks a month you get this you get all of this content and and and to keep this free to keep this for the people to keep this for the fans of the city very rarely do I say J rydor was looking out for us but I feel like in this situation Jerry rydor was really looking out for his fan base he may also be looking out for the fact that if you put the white SS behind a pay W you could kiss your viewership goodbye but I’m trying not to watch these dudes bro they are I got to see them in person versus the Brewers bro I went up there that was fun for you that was a good time me and my brother went we drank some beers Milwaukee didn’t got a little bougie on the beer prices though I used to go up there for the cheap beer pric went to Milwaukee for the game was in Milwaukee we was at the Brewers game for the for the game uh at the Brewers Stadium for the game I should say it was at amfam Stadium um and uh my God one of the worst teams I’ve ever seen in my life bro legitimately legitimately Danny mck had a ball hit towards him at third base his last name is wild I know had a ball hit towards him at third Bas and you you enunciated all of that too oh oh oh when you hear how when you hear how he played you’ll see why cuz he is a piece of garbage but uh had a ball hit toward him at third base and basically was just like it’s going to go out and then it didn’t so it stayed Fair rolling into left field didn’t move just like kind of joged towards like oh there you go it’s gonna go out it went in the left field socks gave up uh four runs on that play that sounds about right sounds about right I was like I hate this team why do y’all do this to me but I digress uh I just I I got to give credit to to Jay rinor for even even though your team’s are bad um we’re still we still want to see him we still want to watch him we still love watching the Chicago Bulls um and you didn’t put that behind the pay wall and take that away from us so that means a lot to me because the Cubs basically were like one World Series 50 bucks a month throw it behind a wall here we go oh you must have great content planned out nope we’re just showing reruns of old games all day yeah yeah the Cubs got to get their crap together uh Marquee in general like Mar is horrible bro bro Marquee is so bad that’s so bad uh but nonetheless so uh the Chicago Sports network is launching in October uh exciting times exciting to see how they’re going to flush that thing out and uh and just and just build it man and uh it’s always fun to see kind of new all right Pat so we got a couple of former Bulls in the NBA Finals playing actually big roles for the team in in um Daniel Gafford and Derrik Jones Jr Derrick Jones Jr had some comments towards the Bulls you want to go ahead and read that Pat oh yeah we got the uh we got the commentary up here hold on let me put that one down right there fou and bow I thought this was very interesting to hear uh said he took less money to come here but the money wasn’t the problem the money wasn’t the issue I just wanted to have the opportunity to be on the floor and showcase what I’m able to do and it happened for me I mean listen it’s unfortunate when it comes down to it is that Derrick Jones Jr played over 50% of his minutes at the center here and he still only played what less than 18 minutes per game uh his time here he now plays about 50% of minutes at the four but the other portion of that at the three um and he’s being way more impactful because he’s not playing out of size and out of position now credit to Derrick Jones Jr even him playing center for the Bulls anytime you put him in the game he found a way to make an impact and you’re seeing him do a lot of that same stuff for the Dallas Mavericks this season and you know I you sometimes you just got to bet on yourself and you got to look in survey a situation and realize Hey listen I could be utilized a lot better somewhere else similar to Bobby poris when he had to call up the Milwaukee Bucks and say hey I think I can help you win the title so like sometimes you got to own own it yourself and and and bet on yourself and go to a place and I’m glad that it’s worked out for Derrick Jones Jr and it sucks that it couldn’t work out here it it sucks that it couldn’t work out here because of why it didn’t work out here how many times did we talk about man we really got to like find a way to put Dereck Jones in this lineup how many times did Derek Jones just fall out of the rotation magically for some mystical reason even though he was playing well how many times do we see DJJ just not get utilized anymore on this Chicago Bulls team and yet in the few when it’s like we got nowhere else to turn we got to figure something out you could put DJJ in in a pinch he could get you a great defensive possession a tough bucket and get to the free throw line and knock you down a pair I I I took these comments and and not to say that I took them as a shot to the Bulls but they should be a shot to Billy dnaman DJ people talk about it as a shot and the thing is I don’t think this is a shot towards the Bulls this is just real yeah he literally went look I would love to play here and and he said the money wasn’t the issue which means bull probably offered him more than he was getting there so now all of a sudden you’re like so we gonna offer you the money to stick around here but what’s my role what is the part that I’m playing on this team am I playing a real hey I think realistically speaking and I’m not saying DJJ puts us so over the top but if you look at djj’s role and what he did here in Chicago and what he instantly did the second that Dallas got him and was like no go on the floor and showcase what you can do it didn’t look any different it looked exactly like what we saw here except he was allowed to go out there and do it and that’s been the problem with Billy Donovan this entire time to me that’s this should be a shot to Billy Donovan it shouldn’t be a shot to the Bulls should be a shot to the head coach that does this with how many players it’s not like DJJ is the only one we talk about with this it’s not like DJJ is the only player we say isn’t being utilized right isn’t being put on the floor in the right moments isn’t being put on the floor consistent enough for him to get in a rhythm I mean like we talk about this with everybody dalen Terry is the 18th overall pick he got like six minutes his rookie year you know what I mean and so it’s it’s this comes back to me when you look at djj’s comments you look at Chicago you know yeah I would love to see the Bulls go do something in the draft trade up get clinging whatever it is right get tsj uh find a way to get an impact player I don’t know how that player is going to be utilized here in Chicago and based on the team that I’ve seen put on the floor consistently uh it doesn’t seem like it’s being utilized right yeah I mean and that’s the thing it’s not just about who you have out there it’s what role you have them playing what positions in the combination of players and so uh that’s something that Bly has has failed at now some of that’s on roster construction not Billy Donovan right so some of that you you got to look at and give that but I think ultimately like we just got to get into a better place of being able it’s hard to evaluate players when everybody is playing out of POS not everybody but so many people are playing out of position it’s like all right what are we evaluating you on because right now we’re just trying to piece something together like shout out to Alice Cruz from javante Green playing power forward for so much for the Chicago Bulls over the last handful of years because that they’ve what’s this team has needed him to do and maybe even sacrific some of their own game to do that like Javon look at same thing with Derrick Jones Jr if you play him more at the wing and may may at the two and the three instead of the three and the four maybe some four in spot Ro spot lineups things like that who’s to say what type of impact Javonte green would have why but and that’s that’s my problem and I get it it does go to roster construction because at a certain point you can only put out there what you have yeah but why is why is DJ JJ the the backup four or the starting four and not the backup three when you also have a lack of of use for your three on this team right like it there’s it it’s a difference if I need you to do that moments versus hey this is your job here yeah and that’s where the Bulls I mean for real like that’s where the Bulls fail the most like who’s legitimately like the last player you can think of who’s the last legit Bulls power forward like you look at him and you go that’s a power forward I mean I by like as far as the look of him Patrick Williams could be a four it’s his mentality that stop he can be a four yeah but like who’s the last player that you was like no he’s a power forward like the second like we thought P will was gonna be the three here see ands was like slide over at this point the three and the four is almost interchangeable so that especially in Billy Donovan system so that doesn’t really stand out as as a negative to me but if you’re talking about legit fours just you look at see that’s the thing fours are so different all ACR was was Bobby poris the last legit and even then was was it Bobby Porters it’s the name I would think of L Markin in theory was our five yeah l Mar l l l was a four well lar was a four L was a four was a four because we had Rollo on the floor with him at the so L lar yeah I mean but but even so right like it’s just it’s one of those things and again unrealized we’ll talk about the AK decision- making Li Markin and no longer Here and Now is a better player but it it’s just it’s it’s those things where you you’re trying to force a square peeg into a round hole and I get what you’re saying that you know like the the three and the four can be interchangeable in this league but it shouldn’t have to be unless you want it to be we’re in a position we’re in a position where it’s like you gotta be the four sir I am 66 218 pounds and gante G 6’4 so shoot and they might be exaggerating for javante a little bit he might be 6’2 I don’t know I saw him pretty close to that he might be 6’2 bro hey that’s a possibility I don’t know man I just I I want to see the bulls start to get that that part of it together and I I would hope that djj’s comments stung somebody in that front office and especially Billy Donovan a little bit but hey we got to talk about they don’t care they don’t care we do not care uh before we get into this uh final decision where we got to right little early set up your Macros right y’all all right with that said pep um before we go out today man we talk about AK we talked about two former Bulls we talked about the roster construction a little bit and overall in this offseason that change is expected or change has been talked about by AK I think overall the biggest thing that I want to see from AK is just make smarter decisions like and you know I hate h me I say hate having conversations like this because he’s made some some God awful stupid decisions but I want to still give him credit for with Lonzo was still here and healthy it looked like it was going to work Lonzo and Zach went down on injury it never looked like it was going to work again after that we’ve tried to peace smell it together at that point in time but I think when you see a player like a fron Wagner who was drafted with the Chicago Bulls pick um and that technically per the production he had last year he would have been our second best player per statistics last season um you got you gotta you can’t keep being on the wrong side of deals and I think AK through the things that have happened injuries and things like this he’s found himself on the wrong side of a lot of the deals that he’s made and we just got to start getting better from AK here moving forward and this offseason could be the start of that I know it won’t happen but it’s getting close to the time to start asking when are we going to start making some changes in this front office oh what you say that they got at least another six years oh for sure I I know it won’t happen but but it it’s time to start asking the question because here’s my thing you know what I loved about AK when we started with him was it felt like in year one and we said this when we came on to loor felt like there was a contingency plan for the contingency plan at this point it doesn’t even feel like there’s a plan it doesn’t even feel like there is a a a a a thought process on how to put the team moving moving in the right direction it doesn’t even feel like they’re hoping to move the team in the right direction it doesn’t even seem like they have a plan to figure out how to avoid the luxury tax this year there’s no plan it seems like around how to resign some of these players that they say they want that we believe maybe you shouldn’t resign this dude but they like nah he’s probably pretty good well you don’t have the money to do that well you know that’s called creative uh Creative Accounting uh where you move some money around here the NBA just took half it out way so how you going to do that this seems like a rudderless ship and it seems like you’re just stuck in the middle and drifting wherever the water takes you at this point and you’re just praying to God that the same thing that happened in Denver where all of a sudden this magical ore comes floating up and it’s got a M on it they’re stuck in the middle of two triple big backs that’s what it is stuck in the you’re stuck in the middle of two two triple big backs and you’re praying to God that two Italian beefs fall on both sides of them and you get out of the middle of that bad sandwich that you’re in right now you know what I mean you got you’re praying for the holy beef whoa maybe a pause brother but that’s what AK is looking for right now because that’s all he’s got left there’s no plan here there’s no logic here and I’m going be honest with you I I was okay I said you know we we we call for change in sports too much today something don’t go wrong the first year blow it up it’s over these guys suck something don’t go right you know year or two but it’s getting better oh and they’ll never win a championship that mindset to me made us get rid of Jimmy Butler you never believed he could be more even though he continued to prove that he was more but at a certain point you do have to make a decision and this isn’t like making the wrong decision at this point we’re just not making decisions ak’s been in there three years his biggest decision has been Goran dragic Javon Carter have we signed at Tor Craig I had to think about that I was like have we signed anybody else in free agency since the first year did you say Goran dragic Goran drage Javon Carter Tory Craig Andre drumond didn’t drum Crome the first year or was drum second year drumond second year okay Andre Drummond that’s one for four you’re swinging and missing a lot yeah like like at what point like make a DEC these aren’t decisions these are dudes that was just walking down freaking State Street and you walked out on State Street at the same time was like y’all want to play basketball no unfortunately no these were decisions they recruited Javon baldheaded ho Carter why why are we going baldheaded ho this a little bit too far I don’t care I don’t care it’s a little bit too far play better play better you know I’m here for play better you know it’s not too far his skills on the [Music] court bad basketball player ball H was [Laughter] crazy that’s nuts [Music] bro yeah that was that was a uh that was petty Rosevelt a little bit there that that bled through that was like Michael Jackson looking back in the Thriller video right there oh man but yeah it’s it’s it’s it’s a struggle bro and like let’s hope that better days better decisions are on the horizon this is their time uh the draft dates have been officially announced the fact that we have the draft separated over two days thank thank you NBA thank you cuz the 4H hour draft and the second round is all people we’ve never heard of before it’s it’s crazy when it be like it just be like have you had a quesero welcome back uh the Chicago Bulls just drafted Yang dwan King I look through a lot of prospects I did not see where is he from he’s out of the Congo he’s never played professional ball in his life they saw him dribbling outside he actually is a soccer player that two and they decided to go ahead and have him enter the draft oh dog that’s how all of them joints be going in the second round especially when it get to like pick 48 be like all right dog like that’s hilarious man but yeah I got nothing left
