That “father figure” interview was legendary. Way to push your second option out of town

  3. EmrysMyrdin

Kyrie is incredibly outspoken in these interviews.

Something I don’t think gets mentioned much when people talk about Kyrie wanting to start his own team with him as the best player or w/e.

Back when Kyrie actually asked to leave one of the leading reports on his motivation for it was that he felt like the team absolutely peaked in 2017, were playing the best basketball of their lives, and they still couldn’t didn’t manage to even make the Finals competitive against the KD/Steph Warriors. He’s not really wrong either cause the 2017 Cavs were a historically good offensive team and definitely the best iteration of the Bron/Love/Kyrie set-up.

Large part of why Kyrie left was the same reason the rest of the League aside from like the Rockets, pretty much went dormant on even trying to win it all, the KD/Steph Warriors genuinely seemed unbeatable to everyone else in the League and not worth trying lol

🎵We had the right love at the wrong time🎶

  6. I said this when he decided to leave the Cavs. He wanted to find out if he could be THE guy. Had he stayed, he may never have been able to find out. You can play the hindsight bias game but can’t blame him for trying

  7. Really is a big what if – they could have won multiple rings together I think

  8. KnickedUp

Ky wanted to see if he could lead a squad. He realized it aint for everyone

  9. The 2016 championship shook Kyrie more than the warriors adding KD. He reportedly felt empty and considered asking for a trade then. In the 2017 playoffs he grew reclusive and sullen, didn’t talk to teammates. I think he felt like he climbed someone else’s mountain with LeBron (deservedly) catching all the headlines.

God damnit.. the Kyrie redemption arc is almost complete

  13. Read every comment, and don’t see any mention of LeBron’s comments. Thanks nephews.

  14. I wonder if he’s over that reporter calling Lebron his father figure lmao

  15. BigBadBen91x

He’s great whenever he has a father figure type to play with, you might say Luka Doncic is Kyrie Father

  16. The_Notorious_Donut

Day before the finals why are we talking about LeBron

  17. orangotai

3 consecutive Finals appearances is nothing to sneeze at

  25. we_hella_believe

“I like that James kid from USC”

    Kyrie probably

  26. Miserable-Lawyer-233

He already apologized to LeBron for his immaturity and ego. They want him to apologize again.

  27. Jesus 7 years since he was on the Cavs. Dude was 23 when he won that chip and now he’s 31, he’s definitely matured in a lot of ways.

  28. bleedingjim

Didn’t him and Lebron combine for 82 pts in game 5 2016 finals??? Probably the most memorable finals of the 21st century.

  29. sylviaplath6667

Most talented player LeBron ever played with

  30. elderlyhands449

Crazy how time changes things, but you can still feel the old vibe between them.

  31. entropyISdeadly

Kyrie with the most epic babyface turn in history.

  32. JEROME_MERCEDES

Dope to see Bron give Kyrie his flowers and cool to see Ky appreciate it.
