IMO this tracks. If Lakers are enamored of repeating the Riley magic with Reddick, they're well aware that Riley was an assistant coach first. I think the interviews were to bring him on staff, not necessarily HC. Would be a great move.
My opinion: Hurley is more “Pat Riley” in reality than the potential of JJ. Go all in for Hurley.
Also, if this is the case, don’t be surprised if they trade a couple players and 17th pick for a higher pick, moving up to get Clingan to pair alongside AD. I’d love to try and Jalen Green and their 3rd for Austin, Rui, Gabe, and the 17th. We need some young scoring athletes.
