which job do you think Danny Hurley should prefer returning to Yukon and trying to go for that three repeat right some guys returning we just saw caraban opted out of the draft or going to the Lakers and coaching LeBron and potentially maybe even his son two very different jobs Molly I mean like here’s the deal the Lakers is a better job if and here’s my if if he can control his infrastructure if he has a say in Personnel I say this all the time in college you’ve got to be connected to your athletic director and your assistant coach needs to know need to know who can play for the head coach in the NBA you’ve got to be connected to the president and your general manager and Personnel people need to understand who can play for the head coach if that is in place then he takes the Laker job uh look coaching there’s going to be a transition the Lakers need a culture they need an identity they need accountability they need core beliefs and non-negotiables similar to what UD went through when he was with when he was with the heat when when Pat Ry was with the coach of the Lakers they’ve lost a little of that giving him the authority to have those type of type of infrastructure then the Lakers is a better job especially due to the fact of the state of College athletics today the state of College athletics today there’s a have and a have not the power five conferences you have 20% Which is going to be your collective bargaining agreement 20% of the money that they’re they’re generating compared to the Big East all right Dan Hurley spending a good amount of his time raising money money you don’t have to worry about that in the NBA he’s not at a place where that there’s going to be a donor that’s going to give him 5 million for his nil and his Collective so look in terms of pure coaching Danny Hurley there’ll be a transition period he’ll be he’ll need to show agility he’s not going to be able to coach exactly the same way he did but he will still hold the the team and the players to accountability the preparation will be the same the identity be the same the culture will be the same look UD D you played in in the greatest culture in in the NBA each and every day you guys were held accountable all right there was a right way to doing things and a wrong way to doing things and almost right was wrong and you came in every day and put in work and there was there were roles that were embraced and Champion right you can do that in the NBA all right you can do that in the NBA Danny Hurley has a gift he has a gift to connect with people is he a little nutty yeah is’s a little nutty he understands that he’s going to have to change to some extent but he’s not going to change in terms of the way he coaches uh his preparation his accountability his attention to detail his Focus uh and that that he will Coach his team and he’ll just it might be a little bit different because you got 82 games you probably got more games than practices if you include the playoffs and the preseason there’ll be a learning curve but I think he’d be fine but he has to have control of he’s got to have infrastructure and he’s got to have control not control but he’s got to have a say in the people he’s going to coach you see one of the things you slick about cook I love you so I can say this to you because most people can’t say this to you with your with your brilliant self what you do is you throw out all that stuff so there could be no comebacks but this is first take baby you ain’t getting away with that coach we you on this show right now because I want to know how you feel about Danny Hurley possibly leaving college basketball to take the Lakers job how do you feel about that do you think that would be a good thing for him to do that’s what I really want to know from Seth Greenberg I think it would be a good thing for him to do if he has those things in place look Danny Hurley look how do I feel I feel sad I I would be I I feel sad because Danny Hurley what he’s done at Yukon what he’s built uh the infrastructure that he has there the the coaching staff that he’s put together the players that he has he’s got a legitimate shot of going three in a row all right he’s got a legitimate shot and going three in a row and that would be historic on the other hand there are three organizations in the NBA that are just different the Lakers the Knicks and the Celtics those three are just different and the opportunity to coach one of those if he’s given the authority to do it in his own personality and the way he does things and all the people would say well what about the reactions to the crowds that’s not going to happen he’s a d her is a really smart guy like really smart brilliant basketball saive basketball but he’s also a really smart guy he understands that but I think that it’s a s if he takes a job it’s a sad day but for him I think it would be an exciting Challenge and the dude loves a challenge here’s the caveat and the whole thing his wife will have as big a say in this thing as anyone Andrew will have as big a say in this decision as anyone when if they go out there and they look at this job all right he’s not taking this job unless they’re in it together because they do everything they are in it together believe me I mean great great Danny Harley St he’ll come to after a bad practice he’ll come into the house with bad ude she’ll tell him hey go outside leave and when you come back in here come in with a better attitude I mean like she’s no joke she girl she’s no joke great love that go ahead go ah UD hey I’m with you a th% on that coach man they say he a little nutty on the sideline they say he crazy good that’s exactly what the Lakers need right now they need a guy that’s a little nutty they need a guy that probably doesn’t know that when you watching film and LeBron James does something wrong or Anthony D Davis does something wrong that you should coach them too you should you should say something to them too cuz most coaches in the NBA that have been around will let those things slide and when you let little small things slide in your locker room like that holding your best players accountable that’s when you lose your locker room so you need a guy like Danny Hurley that comes in with that kind of energy with that lightning in the bottle type mentality putting that battery in their back every day holding them accountable which is annoying but it’s building habits pushing you every day to be that extra 1% better and once you build those habits for the Lakers now you can getting back in contention of being an actual champion and actually coming out that West because the Lakers need to get back being comfortable being uncomfortable and I think that’s been the problem with the Lakers they need to understand that just because LeBron James can come in and maybe take two days off doesn’t mean everybody can take two days off guys need to build a habits the problem is everybody is not LeBron James everybody is not Anthony Davis some of you guys need to St from scratch and build up to their level Braun didn’t get where he was at overnight Anthony Davis didn’t get where he was at overnight these guys built those habits and if iron shoing iron every single day until they got where they’re at some of these guys get in there when they with Braun they think they can skip those steps because you got LeBron James on your team you cannot skip those steps and bringing in a guy like Hurley will not allow these guys to skip those steps and hold them accountable every day from day one he’s going to wake up with that mentality bringing that energy and that effort [Music] he
