This is interesting for sure. Could Hurley being using the Lakers as a contract booster from UCONN, sure. But there could be some serious consideration given NCAA is about to change dramatically in 2025.
But then again UCONN could win a 3rd in a row with the current roster. Hard not to get excited but I have a little doubt.

gotta admit this was a masterful coaching search…they kept selling JJ Reddick and Lebron hand picking a coach…while pursuing the real candidate in the background…if Dan Hurley was the name being pushed a month ago…the pressure to get him wouldve been heavy…by selling the B candidates for a month it bought the Lakers time to pursue Hurley clandestinely…Woj broke the story because Hurley was ready to make the move…it was totally planned…

I just hope this whole thing doesn’t fall through. He could stay at UConn and become an absolute legend of the game with minimal pressure, or get an enormous bag and even brighter lights on him 24/7. He’d be the first coach I’d be excited about since Phil.
