NBA Executive Predicts Major TRADE For the Knicks… | Knicks News

arriv Ral NBA executive has proposed a major trade Target for the New York Knicks and we have to break it down you obviously know who it is through the thumbnail of this video so let’s jump right into it guys what’s up welcome back to Nicks digest it’s Chris here and we’re going to jump right into things because Sha devony of the heavys sports.com was recently talking to a rival NBA executive surrounding a lot of topics with the Knicks one being their draft situation in a video that I just posted yesterday and now we have this as according to a rival NBA executive he referred to Kevin Durant as a prime candidate to join the New York Knicks now this comes from Sha devony via Bleacher Report and after all these years of having this hate for Kevin Durant for joining the Warriors even though that didn’t affect us as the next fans to liking Kevin Durant because we thought he was going to go to the Knicks to really hating Kevin Durant Durant for going to the Nets and then kind of feeling ambivalent once the Nets completely imploded and Durant and Irving went running for the hills obviously things went great for Kyrie who did play in his fourth NBA Finals officially now it has begun and then KD obviously on its son’s team that Matt asiba has just built thinking he’s playing NBA 2K basically everyone’s the same player it’s an all offense team with no defense whatsoever and and they paid for that by losing in the first round in a 4-0 sweep that saw Devin Booker and Kevin Durant really try to carry the Suns but to no avail now when you look at the Phoenix Suns they’re in a rough position they traded away a lot of draft picks to Brooklyn so they could get the services of Kevin Durant for the final career Arc but now it feels like Durant could be on the move again now here’s the deal Bradley Beal is a no trade cost they can’t move him unless Beal decides that he’s okay with being traded to the specific team that they’d agree on a deal with now I don’t think any contending team is going to want to pick up Brad Beal’s contract so most likely Beal’s not going anywhere Devin Booker’s been adamant about the fact that he just does not want to leave Phoenix he wants to be someone who stays with the same team his entire NBA career but he did just finish season nine of his NBA career he’s made the playoffs what three times he made it yeah like three times three four times he’s made the NBA Playoffs it took him forever to get in obviously he went to the fin one year but they did not win and now Booker’s looking to get back there but the suns are running low on assets Durant’s not getting younger Brad Beal is not getting younger or healthier it feels like Booker is kind of carrying this team at this point obviously KD is still great but we could see a world where Durant looks at things and decides you know what if book wants to stay here and do his thing that’s fine I’m going to request the trade and get out of here which is what Durant does is the second any sort of problem arises he runs for the hills now I’d way prefer the Knicks go for Devin Booker if anything happens with the Suns where they decide to blow it up but I just can’t see Booker requesting a trade until another disappointing season they still made the finals not that long ago just three years ago in 2021 which it time really flies dude but like when you look at the Suns I think they’ve had enough success not much but they’ve had enough where I think it would take another year of severe disappointment like this season for Devin Booker to decide hey I want out I want to get moved now if the Knicks think they can land Booker which is realistic considering the whole fact that Leon Rose was Devin Booker’s agent and all that then yeah maybe they wait a year but there’s a lot of reasons to believe that the Knicks don’t want to considering they have a lot of contracts due including Jaylen Brunson next year and when you consider that when you consider Julius being due for an extension when you consider OG and hartenstein this summer you consider this summer in 2026 of having to bring back D venzo and Josh Hart things do get a little bit messy so the Knicks are best off making a trade this off season this summer is the best opportunity the Knicks can have for making a trade acquiring a star player things are going to get real difficult for the Knicks financially when it comes to that first apron where you go over the salary cap and you can only make so many moves to it’ll basically hinder them from being able to make a massive trade and acquire a star and there’s also a world where the Knicks could trade Julius Randall and Fred cats talked about this and said the Knicks are not trying to trade Randall but they recognize that their quest for a star could require having to do so if a suitable Target does not pop up this summer then they could turn their eyes to the 2025 trade deadline hoping to land one then now obviously the Knicks do not want to trade Julius Randle but they understand if they want to land a true second Superstar next to Jaylen Bronson then you just might have to do it now he also highlights the 2025 NBA trade deadline before Bronson and Randall are due for contract extensions so instead of having to go the route of dealing with the off season in 2025 and all those financial issues the Knicks would only wait around six seven months and then they would go into trying to acquire a star at the deadline the trade deadline has become a bigger and bigger thing each year as the NBA is moving way towards the NFL when it comes to non-g guaranteed contracts and it being way more financially um just incentivised to stay with your own team you just get paid way more to stay with your own team or stay with the team that has your rights and they obviously get flipped if you get if you get traded to somewhere you still have their rights if you’re the other team so that makes things a little different so basically now when we see NBA stars leave their teams it’s through trades like Kevin Durant getting traded a few years ago like Kyrie Irving getting traded a few years ago like whenever James Harden leaves is through a trade like the way of acquiring stars now is through trades the Knicks know that they’re they’re not really going to go that hard for Paul George in free agency because they know they don’t have the money to do so they’d have to agree to some sign and trade where then you can’t even move multiple players and a sign and trade anymore so it becomes virtually impossible to land him unless you’re unless Paul J agrees to opt in and then the Knicks want to make a move for him but I don’t think he’s going to do that then he only is safe for one year unless the Knicks agree to giving him a contract extension after then the Knicks can flip buan bogdanovich and Mitchell Robinson the Obi top and trade exception like two firsts and then get Paul George but that feels like a stretch they’re not going to sign LeBron in free agency it’s stuff like that free agency is not the way to really bolster your team that much anymore there will be outliers but usually it’s going to come through trades that’s why the Knicks are targeting guys through trades now we’re we’re going to do some trade videos because there’s a lot to come out the live stream that I did yesterday was focused on Giannis kind of more just on like General trades and that stuff then as always live streams kind of derail but in a good way they they derailed in a good way it was a fun one go watch if you guys didn’t but um when you look at it Kevin Durant obviously could be a target for the Knicks but you have to accept that you’re moving Julius Randle for and that you’re really shortening your timeline that you’re banking on the health of Kevin Durant something that is not not been fruitful very often ever since he tore that Achilles so there’s a lot of things to maybe kind of worry about and Kevin Durant did speak out on the Knicks and has given them their props he was talking to Rich Kleinman and essentially when Rich Kleinman said admit it the Knicks are are not they’re cool now because rich kinman is a longtime Knicks fan and Kevin Durant’s manager and he was pushing Kevin Durant to go to the Knicks like KD’s dad Wayne Pratt also pushing KD to go to the Knicks in 2019 and Durant spoke on his prior comments of saying the Knicks weren’t cool saying at the time they weren’t the Knicks weren’t cool but they are a Cool brand like right now they’re popping the last few years but before that the brand was cool but I was looking at the team and the team was not cool to play for the team was not cool to watch they were 17 and 65 I might have embellished or lied a little bit about the brand I might have thrown the brand in there too but of course the nyck brand like living in New York made me truly realize how it’s the greatest city in the world I’m going to be shocked if Durant after he retires doesn’t move to New York City his office for his business 35 Ventures which is an investing firm is still in New York the man clearly grew to love New York in his time here he said it’s the greatest city in the world he took back his statements on saying the Knicks aren’t cool right now except for the fact that they weren’t cool to play for or watch because they were terrible and you know what I have get thrown more shade at Kevin Durant than any person ever because I really don’t like the move that he made to the Warriors it’s more so that one than the Nets one I understand the Nets one I don’t the Warriors one it’s it’s there’s no way to get behind that outside of saying well he lived in Oklahoma and he moved to the Bay Area after you live in Oklahoma for 10 years you deserve to live in the Bay area for a bit which is a fair argument but KD he clearly likes New York I think there’s a world where if he saw a chance to go play for the Knicks and kind of get a level of redemption I think he could take it I mean he gets the biggest fan base in basetball outside of the Lakers fans maybe to back him and save the Knicks win a championship with Kevin Durant obviously it would be brunson’s team but still he’d be immortalized in New York if he shows up puts on number 35 and wins a ring in New York his jersey goes in the rafters now do I think this is going to happen no but it’s a real option that I assume Kevin Durant is going to look at if he decides hey this sun steam we’re not winning anything this roster is poorly constructed I’m in Arizona when I could go live in New York City I’m going to have to make some choices here now obviously even if he wants to go to the Knicks doesn’t mean he’s going to Matt asiba the owner of the Suns is hellbent on creating a winner right now to protect Deon Booker from leaving but there’s a world where Julius fits better on the Suns and Kevin Durant does fit better on the Knicks than Julius Randle does I mean imagine that lineup that five out let Brunson cook on the inside kind of have heart and shot at that high post getting those floaters in there let KD Drive a little bit more even though he doesn’t do so that much anymore cuz he’s older I don’t know it’d be an interesting team I feel like Kevin Durant at this point on the Knicks would be eerily similar to Aaron roders on the Jets where it’s like oh yeah he’s still that dude he’s not the best player on the team and he doesn’t need to be S Gardner the best player on the Jets in case you’re wondering cornerback excellent Defender unreal player and then also quinnon Williams is also better than Aaron Rogers this is not jets does though that’s coming in the next few months um but yeah with Kevin Durant it’s like you get that older guy who’s who’s won in the past who’s got an interesting vibe to say the least like Aaron Rodgers it reminds me of Aaron Rogers to the Jets where you’re banking on this young team with this one veteran to come in and give some stability if the Knicks think that it could work I trust Leon Rose it would kind of be an outof character move for this Nicks organization to move Julius Randle but if they don’t want to extend him to move Julius for KD that is to if they don’t want to extend Julius and they’re fine risking it all for Kevin Durant I trust Leon Rose knows what he’s doing he’s earned that from Nicks fans that we that we can kind of blindly trust the man at this point he hasn’t gone wrong too often outside of the Obi top and draft pick which is really understandable but also this video is running long so I’m just going to real quick show you guys these numbers I mean still one of the best players in the NBA 41% from three 52% from the field on 27 points per game with six and a half rebounds and five assists still getting over a block per game 611 he’s really s feet tall hits threes like it’s nobody’s business 28% of those shots are threes he’s working that mid-range he still can hit that turnaround jump jump shot with the best of them shooting 46% on Corner threes the Knicks love that opposite or weak side corner three if Leon wants to do it I trust him but guys let me know what you
