Nobody in the league is going to make a bigger leap next year than Jonathan Kuminga. I believe it.

If that ball handling in the last clip can actually translate to real game action he’ll be a star

Ahh I see we are at this part of the off-season now

He’s clearly putting in the work! I hope, though, that he’s also getting in lots of reps against NBA-level players. I know he plays pickup with lots of NBA guys in Miami (notably Cade Cunningham and Trey Murphy), but usually the level of defensive intensity in those pickup games is not very high. It’s probably a notch above NBA all-star game intensity. Ideally JK is in the lab with other NBA wings, doing competitive drills with them. Do ball handling drills with NBA point guards. Do shooting drills with elite shooters (there’s a certain legendary point guard who I’m sure would love to have JK work with him and Brandon Payne for a week or two). That’s how he’s gonna get a lot better. And maybe he is doing that. Just because he’s posting these clips with non-NBA talent (I’m not sure exactly who that defender is, but I’m guessing he’s not a high level pro) doesn’t mean this is the extent of his training.

Kids projection is steady upwards. He’s doing all the right things.

Waiting for the one Kuminga hater to run in the thread to tell us how keeping JK would be a huge mistake. Man’s is up working on his game at 5 in the morning.

I like the face-up handles. Wiggs needs to work on those, but if he can generate a path to the basket that way, he’ll be a much more dangerous scorer. Similar issue with Wiggs.

His biggest leap needs to come from the defensive side. Already love his offensive game and how it’s coming along.

really hoping he gets a shooting coach and improve his shooting stroke.
