Hey Mavericks fans – I’m rooting for you now that you guys beat the Timberwolves.
I think that game 1 was a bit traumatic for y’all, but the Celtics were making some insane shots that aren’t always going to fall. Also, the Mavericks missed a lot of makeable shots, and started a good comeback in the second half.
It’ll be a tough series regardless, but always some adjustments to make.
I’d look to see Luka running more post ups against Derrick White with that size advantage, rather than so much pick and roll.
Biggest thing for the Mavericks to figure out imo is how to guard Porzingis in elbow isolations.
Excited for game 2 to see the adjustments!

That was essentially the game right there. It shook them. I think they’ll be more ready next game.

That first quarter was crazy with Boston defending so well and shooting lights out.
Dallas couldn’t get many clean looks in the first.
It looked like Porzingis deterred shots by PJ and DJJ at the rim and blocked Green and Irving.
Horford and Hauser made Irving take tough shots.
Luka got stripped twice.
Later in the game, Horford blocked Luka’s three, and yet again, Luka was stripped for another pick two.
Boston was just the more aggressive team. It was like Dallas was totally caught off guard from Boston’s intensity and aggression. Dallas seemed to calm down and learned how to play against Boston’s intensity.
The silver lining is that Boston probably can’t duplicate game one’s first quarter in game two’s first quarter. Of course, Dallas can’t afford to give up a near 40-point quarter ever again in this series.
