[@GrantAfseth] Asked Dereck Lively II about countering Boston’s cross-matching. He started, “Run our shit.” He emphasized regardless of matchups, they have to run their offense, get into multiple actions, set quality screens and roll, and not settle for the first shot as much.

Yep, matchup crap is just talk if you just get it the fuck done.
Yep. Nobody can cover Luka and Kyrie 1on1 if they’re playing to their standard. All starts with them beating 1on1, which they couldn’t do in game 1 often enough to force Boston to help off the lob or shooters.
They’re gonna be better tonight, everything else will open up, and the game will be way closer.
Sounds like that was the message at practice since game 1. Looking at film they had to see how the offense looked like last year’s struggle bus vs the active off ball movement and passing that got the mavs this far.
