Jaylen Brown Talks Celtics Going Up 2-0 in NBA Finals & Gets Advice From Shaq | NBA GameTime

back here on the floor at TD Garden with Jaylen browny at 21 points and seven assists tonight and Jaylen this one was obviously more of a grind then the game one Victory what in your mind was the difference for it um we just made plays down the stretch uh you know give credit to Dallas they came out and they played a much better game much tougher game um and we just kept going kept wearing on them kept trying to wear them down and uh we made enough plays to win the game two games up uh really a chance you can get really happy how do you stay focused and say you know what we got two more games with trust me it’s hard to do been there many times but you’re so close but how do you as one of the leaders in the locker room keep your guys focused and say hey the job’s not done until the job is done exactly just stay in the moment you know so it’s almost short-term memory um we got to play this series like we down to we got to go in on the road and uh take care of business but um it’s easy just stay in the moment just talk to the guys talk to them through adversity you know to stay together um to handle um resilience and adversity that’s the most important thing so I think we’ll be ready yeah just defensively you guys have been you know you you first of all been spectacular uh the point of point of attack guarding Luca but as a team everyone locked in making life miserable just the mindset uh going against a Luca Don to Kyrie Irving two Dynamic scores uh it’s not a a one person or two people it’s a collective effort and just talk about y’all’s approach to guarding and defending them yeah it’s a full team effort um we know like uh those guys got some of the best offensive um Firepower in the league so we definitely got to be better in communication tonight I thought we weren’t as crisp as we needed to be um but we were able to wear on them still Luca still had um 30 plus points but we was able to take uh some of the rest of those guys out of it but um we got to be more chis on the road if we expect to win Jayla how happy are you when you know everybody said y I live and die by the three you didn’t shoot the three well you can still win games give me that mindset when things are not going well behind the three-point line that y’all know that you can still win ugly games yeah and our and our defense is what uh provid that um we didn’t shoot the ball uh nowhere near to our standard but we kept getting to the paint kept getting Great Looks you know all night I was just trying to create two on ones all night I was just driving trying to make the five help and then just trusting my teammates on the backside got to take care of the ball a little bit more but I’ll take those looks you know we going most games we going to be able to make those we just got to stay with the game plan stay with the format and we’ll be all right Jaylen you and you and Jason 19 of the 29 assists between the two of you you’re the primary scores obviously on this team explain to Folks at home the kind of trust required for you guys to be willing to give it up and to move the ball the way you have most of the season I think that’s a part of our growth you know being able to you know be in those moments and see the right play and make the right read and Trust our teammates I think that’s a part of our growth um we’ve been in these situations before um and we trust our teammates All Season we’ve been empowering guys D white and pton to come in and let it fly um they’re getting open look so tonight um it was the same thing jayen I don’t have I have a question but I’m going to give you some G14 classification information cuz this going to be the last time you see me it’s a riddle do not get fixated on useless titles do what you got to do doesn’t matter who’s who or they say who’s what it ain’t time for all that right now do what you got to do and get it done I understand yes sir I appreciate it that made sense to you no okay okay well let me break it down they’re trying to separate you and your guy by saying who’s better and who better I’m saying don’t worry about useless titles who’s the man don’t matter who the man is Kobe’s the man sha it don’t matter I’m getting my 40 Kobe getting his 39 let’s go win these championships that’s what that meant sir I agree with that yes sir understand since you didn’t understand I had to break it down to you tell him Grant tell him Grant tuck that elbow in I got to ask a question about Al Horford you know at his age porzingis being out him being able to switch defensively take me through the old man what he’s doing defensively for you guys man Al has been anchoring us all season long man I don’t know how he does it Al got five kids 38 years old night in and night out he’s playing 30 plus minutes how many minutes he played tonight and he just 28 close to 30 close to 30 and he just anchoring us man just being solid you know switching guarding guys on the perimeter rebounding keeping guys off the glass and then knocking those shots down man Al has been a big part of our offense a big reason why we’ve had success and and what he’s doing you know at his age is spectacular man nothing short of that you guys W game one playing playing easily if you will game two a little bit of a struggle uh winning ugly at times maybe not shooting the ball well moving ahead to game three what do you need guys need to clean up going on the road hostile environment what what do you maybe one or two things you think that you guys could be better in to get that win um better in our communication I think better defensively I I don’t think tonight we was as crisp as we should have been or need to be especially going in on the road we had some um ill advised fouls we don’t want to those guys and put them on the line give them extra points we want to make them work um and then we just got to guard a little bit better make it tough you know can’t give no easy baskets make everything tough Jaylen nice job tonight appreciate you stopping by safe travels to Dallas appreciate you guys thank you Jaylen brown with us with a 20 lead for the Celtics they’re headed to Texas with a vice grip on this series

  1. Steve Smith and Grant Hill look like brothers that had an argument off camera, then they had to work through it. 😂

  2. Both teams shoot terrible from 3 point line JT had more shooting attempt so did D White, etc both teams had more 10 turnovers this was a grind out game that allowed the Celtics to come out on top Kyrie also didn't have a great game either PJ Washington also had a subpar performance finishing with 17 but struggled to get off to hot start if Dallas continues to play this way expect a sweep From Boston

  3. Points and shot attempts this finals:Jaylen Brown 43 points on 27 shot attempts Jrue Holiday 38 points on 23 shot attempts Jayson Tatum 34 points on 38 shot attempts Derrick white 33 points on 26 shot attempts Porzingis 32 points on 20 shot attempts! The other 4 best players on Boston are outplaying Tatum!!

  4. Jaylen is always so straight-faced that when he’s funny and laughs it catches you by surprise. Shaq’s “classified info” was confusing until he broke it down.

  5. I'm so proud of Brown and Tatum. They have grown so much and both are amazing players. One is not better than the other, they are both great in their own ways. And Shaq was right comments like Kidd's are to try to make one be a ball hog, and make it a one guy show. The C's won't win that way – Kidd knows that hence his comments. This is a total TEAM effort and Brown and Tatum are both leading this team and not everyone can do that. It's another part of their game, an important one – maybe the most important part, that has grown. Holliday, White, KP, Haftford… all great players too. C's have a great team with a bunch of special players.

  6. Its G14 classified …not classification . But good words of advice, probably something Brown already knows.😅

  7. JB knew exactly what Shaq meant. That was a facetious "no" and he was hoping Shaq would catch on and drop the subject. But naturally, Shaq gives the media more fuel by bringing it up, and Shaq gets to feel like he educated someone with a much higher IQ. An overall gross exchange, and there's no doubt that the topic is now cemented in the NBA media circle. Awards are going to look a lot different next year
