How the NBA Finals will shift heading to Dallas with the Celtics up 2-0 vs. the Mavs | NBA Countdown

so when a series shifts back away from your home floor we we talked a little bit to dererk about what changes for them and their their attitude their disposition as they take the show on the road what is that that actually changes a lot a lot actually um Dallas is going in home where they play very well they shoot the ball very well they have a great home crowd so you got to know that coming you got to know they’re going to come out with energy now the road team you got to set the tone from the jump and that’s something obviously the Celtics have the ability to do but Dallas is it’s tough doing that in Dallas yeah I I think traditionally role players are better at home I mean you’re going to get more you would think out of some of the guys I don’t know if it’s Jaden Hardy I don’t know if they go to wil Bun’s guy hard away or um you know I I I think cber has to show up in this series I mean maybe he gets going at home maybe he’s more comfortable there uh Malik but a lot of times you see the stars are going to do what the stars do they can do it on the road they can do it at home maybe it gets Kyrie going in some respects cuz they got to get somebody going the bad part about Dallas is this Boston team sometimes plays better outside of Boston so that that’s not a good look that has been their Trend in the postseason over the last four seasons better on the road but Josh you you see them you’re in a division with the Celtics um you’ve seen them up close and personal now does any of this surprise you are you seeing what you think is the best of the Celtics yet there does it surprise me no um I think this game was huge for them just with going in there get at home getting outrebounded shooting 26% from three you didn’t play your best basketball and you still were able to come out and win and I think that’s a big thing for them I think that’s a big thing for their confidence going forward um even towards the end of the game when it started getting close they were able to you know make big plays and um stressed a a lead a little bit so um it’s tough but I think they have another level but this gives them a lot of confidence going into Dallas you think the Celtics have another level that we haven’t even seen yet I think so I mean game one they were amazing um and and there was a drop off here and if this was the drop off we talked about they’re they’re in they’re INE but at the same point Dallas didn’t it wasn’t a great game by Dallas no I mean they probably played as if you want to say the Celtics won and didn’t play well Dallas they won an a game by we haven’t seen Dallas’s a game yet I don’t even we seen G that’s right we saw game with the Celtics in game one I thought the way they shot the ball the way they played defensively but Dallas is better than we’ve seen now the question is is that because what Boston’s doing to them is this a style makes fights where it’s just if you’re going to slow the ball down again you heard Dereck white say it Indiana is hard to guard you know why 05 basketball touch it and go make a decision and if you don’t have to ever double or Blitz or trap or do anything that that that that allows Luca and Kyrie to find wideopen people that that l could did that sometime but passes in traffic and really difficult passes that help move that assist total up they still to me did not move the ball on their own that well well I’ll tell you what you want to use IND I keep bringing up Indiana because I just we just saw them they scored a lot of points on the very good team so I remember we when the when the Warriors days playing James Harden who had that kind of like quarter run everything through him Hub of the offense and Josh I’d be curious to see when you’re seeing the same thing every time down LCA donic in the pick and roll Luka donic it’s so much easier and it gets but by the way gets easier as the series goes along and and as it gets longer and longer it’s like a hitter seeing the same pitch after a while it’s like I can see this clearly so what’s okay so then what becomes the adjustment that Dallas has to other guys have to handle other guys have to initiate but I love playing I love playing fast playing fast against this Boston team especially when they have uh porzingis and Horford in at the same time you have to run them you have to create advantages and if you’re doing that they have in um Boston hasn’t been doing that for the whole playoffs so you don’t know some of those guys might get tired other guys might have to step up but for them to get easy shots especially when Luca is out the game they have to play Fast yeah and they did it I think in the Minnesota they had it it was either Minnesota globa city where where Dallas was saying we got to push we got to push I saw him doing it now it’s not their nature may have to be their nature it better be their nature in game three because I don’t know what the num say on game three but they’re really bad the other thing is they’re going to have to get a perform performance I mean oldfashioned performance offensive performance that he’s capable as we know yep from Kyrie Irv right right and that’s so much of what we talked about coming into the series Luca and Kyrie so far it has not been Kyrie right [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]

  1. Whew! The tension is thick. Kyrie will not get going against Boston, jrue holiday and Derrick White play kyrie really well on the perimeter. plus, the team defense of JB and JT with KP in the paint. Kyrie has nowhere to shoot!

  2. Boston is undefeated on the road in these playoffs and they have all the confidence and momentum. I don’t see this series going beyond 5 games.

  3. Celtics may lose one in Dallas just to 1) make Dallas feel like they have a chance and 2) to win the chip at home! Hoping Celtics in 4 but may be 5… not a Celtics fan, I just HATE Dallas lol.

  4. pacers which is considered by many media people before this series as "one of the easy teams that Boston beats in the east" in going to torch this mavs

  5. Haven’t heard anyone once give Boston proper credit. They act like Dallas is just in a funk and Boston has nothing to do with it like kyrie struggles are his own fault not jrue and d whitr

  6. Only think i was worried about Boston is what's if they miss their 3s constantly. It happened and they still won, despite a Luka masterclass and it wasn't that close as well. Boston ain't shooting this bad again, Mavs really fumbled to not take advantage of that.

  7. This is going to be a sweep or gentleman’s sweep. This was the classic Celtics play bad game 2 and Dallas still lost. Celtics are better on the road and will have another A game within the next two game s

  8. Why the mavs don’t play Tim hardaway jr anymore ? But they play Josh green & hardy who don’t do anything on the floor , I’m very confused

  9. But but but Mavs always win Game 2 and Kyrie will have a bounce back game blah blah blah yada yada yada 🤣
