Naz Reid is a better scorer and is currently our third option.

Ideally these guys are our 3rd and 4th options, while the 2nd option is KAT or the future PG we replace him with.

He is not close to that level on offense yet. His handle sucks, he’s not great on open 3’s, and he can’t create for others. He should be the 5th option. Look at Boston- he would be the 6th option on that team. You’re massively overrating him

I think the real question is how big of an improvement do we need him to make, for us to truly be considered a championship team. Like does he need to become a Jaylen Brown 20+ game scorer or is it more likely he jumps to an OG/MPJ type deal between 15-17ppg.

First he needs another 10-15 lbs of muscle. Then we can talk.

I love Jaden but “ceiling” is such a dangerous thing to say. Lotta “could be great” guys out there never are … arguably most aren’t …

No rule that people just get better, I know.

Meanwhile what do we do? Take away chances from better options because Jaden “ceiling”?

Jaden McDaniels isn’t a great 4th option most nights and to expect him to improve on everything isn’t a great idea. I think it would be wise to have him just focus on his shooting. If he becomes a more willing and consistent shooter he will be terrific. Nothing wrong with a productive 3 and D guy who scores on the break from time to time. Expecting him to make great strides in 5 areas isn’t all that likely.

  7. Gotta show some self creation first. Outside of spot ups and straight line drives, he gots nothing. A weak and loose handle doesn’t help. Needs in corporate the easier stuff first. For example, a pull up middy. Because of his rather long shot release, teams can close out on him. A pump fake to one dribble middy would be a nice skill to add since if he beats the close out the help knows and waits for him in the paint. The middy is there. Even a floater would alleviate this.
