  1. Man, I was so high on Wiggins when we got him for the Love trade. Admittedly I fell for the medias hype around him and I’m sure it got to him to some capacity as well. I just feel like he never reached his potential – mentally.

That being said, I also shat my pants when we get Anthony Bennett so maybe I need to temper my expectations a bit going forward.

Wigs was just missing the mamba mentality

Dean on Draft was very persuasive in how he described Wiggins’ shortcomings, and he had me convinced. It wasn’t just effort – he had serious limitations as a primary creator, and even on defense, he needed the right system, coach, and team around him.

  4. We taught him and allowed him to play like Kobe. Not many rookie shooting guards are getting endless reps to work on their post game. He just didn’t have the drive or talent to be good at doing Kobe stuff. It probably would have been better if he had had our franchise shooting guard shooting more threes in the year 2014 and onward.

He was never a shooting guard and he was never a good shooter. Granted, you’d rather he launch from 3 than 2 steps inside the line…

Wiggs was such a disappointment especially what happened after he left in gsw just showed that if he worked on his game even just at Kat level he could’ve been something else

It’s always easy to make comparisons before the young guy takes any leaps.

Kobe wanted to be great. Wiggins wanted to be paid.

Kobe / Wiggins is such a perfect example of what the right (or wrong) mentality can do with insane talent.

KU Wiggins was SO good. And we’ve seen glimpses over the years of the two way elite player. The athleticism to attack the rim on offense and shut down opponents on the other end. If he had Kobe’s fire, drive, and competitiveness he could’ve been an incredible pro.

Sadly I think he just wanted to do enough to get some solid paydays, play video games, and chill with his dogs.

Sounds like a lot of redditors 🤔
