NBA’s Cameron Payne Arrested For Giving False Report To Cops

"The Point God Cameron Payne was arrested in Arizona on Friday morning, TMZ Sports has learned… after cops claim he gave officers a false report.

According to the Scottsdale Police Department, authorities were called out to investigate a disturbance in Scottsdale at around 2:44 AM — and came into contact with Payne and another individual.

It's unclear exactly what happened next — cops did not give any further specific details — although the SPD says Payne was arrested on the scene and booked on one charge of refusal to provide a truthful name and one count of false report to law enforcement.

We're told the 29-year-old NBA player was released from custody a short time later."

How does this affect his legacy and more importantly will we still resign him?

Why does this team have to be so WEIRD all the time

It seems weird that this by itself rises to the level of arrest. On the surface, it seems similar to when someone’s “crime” is only resisting arrest where you didn’t do anything unlawful, the cops just wanted a reason to arrest.
But we don’t know anything really until for more details to come out

Shit man he wasn’t under oath. He was in his legal rights to lie to the cops. I mean I guess I’m not a lawyer.

Hey there everyone, happy [Shut the Fuck Up Friday](https://youtu.be/6EI_RYIEtrg)! The best time to remind everyone that you have no obligation to talk to the cops and unless you’ve been arrested and have consulted with an attorney you should Shut the Fuck Up!

Refusing to give his name is the only charge? So he didn’t do shit? Fuck the police.

So Payne was out somewhere and cops came up and started harassing him and he wouldn’t give his name because he didn’t think he did anything wrong to warrant the contact in the first place.  Failure to I’d yourself is a crime if the police have probable cause to Id you, unless you’re driving a car then you must provide id when asked.

As far as the false report, that could be anything. Payne sarcastically said I was on the moon when asked what he was doing or where he was that evening.

This isn’t even a race thing, these charges are almost always dropped because this is nonsense cops use to show regular citizens the power they have over them. This is like the ultimate bad cop red flag. A good cop almost never puts charges like this on a citizen because they don’t have issues getting id’s or honesty from a citizen. That’s what makes them good.

  11. I don’t believe shit ever since the Scottie Scheffler debacle. Well even before that too, but this sounds like some dumb as shit. No charges or anything except some possible made up BS on the scene.
