Lakers DREAM OFFSEASON Scenario! | Trades, Free Agency, + Draft! (ft. Dejounte Murray & Alex Caruso)

[Music] welcome back everyone well guys we are nearly at that point the NBA finals are about to end and not long after that we have the official beginning of next season which I think we’re patiently or maybe impatiently waiting for and not only that but the Lakers have a lot to figure out between now and then I mean they currently don’t even have a head coach and if they don’t have that figured out yet then I cannot imagine they know who they’re driving ing let alone even what guys want to pick up during free agency and well we’re going to try and figure that out for them today and not only that but talk about what might be the best possible outcome for them as well including everything from their new head coach who they might pick up both during the NBA draft and free agency and then maybe even want trades they should look to make as well all of which will be from the standpoint of a dream scenario meaning if everything would go their way this might be what it looks like now obviously that can be a bit farfetched but we are going to talk about a few of my favorite moves that can look to make and while again they might not all be likely to happen one two or even three of them very well could but real quick before we get too far into it if you have been enjoying the everyday Lakers content and want more of it then don’t forget to subscribe to the channel and hit that notification Bell to never miss out when I upload a video YouTube is really bad about notifying you if you don’t have notifications turned on so I definitely would recommend it if you enjoy my content and big thank you to all of you that already do I really do appreciate it but without further Ado let’s start died into it and well I think we’ll Begin by talking about their new head coach which at this point is really a tossup according to reports the two fin lists for them appear to be number one JJ reick and then number two James bgo neither of whom are incredibly intriguing in my opinion I mean they certainly could do worse but neither of them have proven much of anything with that being especially true for JJ reic despite the immense potential that would come with him and then for bgo I simply don’t love his coaching background though I do like the fact that he at least has been a head coach before but if I got to pick I don’t think I would go with either of them now I’m obviously not a part of their interview process but I would be very interesting what both David Adelman current assistant for Denver along with Mike anori current assistant for Minnesota would have to say in my opinion if they are not going to go with a proven former head coach which they’re not really any to go with at this point then those two would out to be the best remaining options with both them having over 10 years being an assistant along with currently making an impact in one of the better teams in the entire West again if I had it my way I would probably have to pick between one of them and I’m currently leaning toward Mike anori with him kind of taking on the role of a head coach during the postseason due to their normal head coach Chris Finch getting hurt which I think was valuable experience for him however it does appear very likely that they will hire reic or burgo and if they do hire JJ reic then I have already shared my dream coaching staff to put around him including JB Baker staff either Sam Celler Terry STS Phil handy Jared Dudley and then ran Rondo which in my opinion would be a great staff to put around a first-time head coach like JJ reck moving on here though now we’ll talk about the NBA draft and while the Lakers certainly could keep their first on draft pick which I’m definitely not opposed to we are going to trade it in this scenario and don’t worry it will be worth it if they would keep it though my number one choice would with a do have to be kalwar a 7ft big that can both protect the rim and provide three-point shooting though he is a bit raw meaning it would be taking a bit of a risk on him to off for value and you’re number one but then for pick number 55 we are going to package that draft pick with catch to move up a bit higher likely to around the 35 to 45 pick range and here I’ll provide two options one of which being bronny James which I think is more likely rout for them to take but then with the other one being cam Christie younger brother to current Laker Max Christie they could either go the direction of a defensive minded small guard which would also be making NBA history or they could go the direction and be legit 3 andd wing with more upside I’ve r would probably have to go with Cam Christie but I would not be mad at them for taking bronny as I do believe he could turn out to be a solid role player moving on here though now we’ll talk about free agency and the first thing we need to cover would be their player options of which they currently have four of including LeBron himself D’Angelo Russell Jackson Hayes and cam reddish and despite speculation about LeBron he’ll very likely be back with their team now it might not be through that player option but it’s widely expected that he’ll be back so I think we can Mark him down on their 15-man roster after him though it’s really a tossup DLo has been drawing interest from a team like the Orlando Magic though I’m really hoping he does not get a good offer from them let alone any team at all as I’m looking to use him in a later trade and let’s say that he would opt into that contract that would put him back on their payroll at a oneyear $18.5 million deal a very tradeable contract and a whole lot better than losing it for nothing even if they cannot pull off a trade and then for reddish and Hayes I have no idea what they might do though I feel like they’re both leaning toward opting in with that being especially true for reddish after having an underwhelming end to the year which will be beneficial for a later trade as well and going back to the trade talk we’ll be making a few of them beginning with a smaller one which will include trading Jackson Hayes cam reddish and a second round draft pick or two for Nick Richards prior to July 1st therefore being able to bypass the current trade wheels for a team over the first luxury tax apron which only come into effect on July 1 allowing the Lakers to make a trade that involves them taking back a little bit of salary and for the actual point of making the trade I think we need a little more reliability at backup center now I’m not entirely against them keeping Jackson Hayes but I think i’ would rather have a more reliable option like Nick Richards who is coming off of averaging about 10 points eight rebounds and over one block per game last season I mean he pretty much does everything that Hayes would do for them only he does it a bit better being a better rebounder a better rim protector and then a similarly effective lob threat moving on to trade number two though will be attempting a trade for former Laker and my current favorite player Alex cruso now it obviously would be a bit of a long shot but he does happen to be entering the final year of his current contract and again we are talking about a dream scenario here after all but for the actual trade we’ll be offering Gabe Vincent an unprotected first round draft pick and then two second round draft picks which would be a fair offer for him in my opinion and boy would it ever help improve their perimeter defense not only that though but he is now become a legitimately good three-point shooter coming off of shooting 40.8% from three on nearly five attempts per game making him an even better fit for their team now compared to back when he played for them again probably not very likely but I would certainly try and pull it off if I were them moving on here though we’ll be trying to completely recreate the team’s back court and we’ll be doing that by trading for Deonte Murray offering D’Angelo Russell who would be going to Brooklyn here through a three- team trade Christian Wood and Jaylen Hood Shapino unlike at the trade deadline we will be offering Atlanta two first round draft picks and although we still won’t be offering Austin Reeves I think it would be more than a fair offer and one that definitely would improve the fit of our current team now we will be losing a little bit of three-point shooting here by trading DLo but we’ll be gaining a more reliable third option A better Defender and then a similarly if not even better playmaker as well and overall I think Murray would be a great fit with LeBron and Anthony Davis after that though we will then have to fill out the remaining team through free agency and we’ll Begin by bringing back tan Prince on a new oneyear contract worth about 4.8 million and then Max Chrissy for about 4 million per year as well adding some much a 3 andd winged up to this group and with them we will have eight returning members of our team which will be great for team continuity even after making a few trades though we cannot forget about using our tax paramid level exception and while it might be a bit of a long shot as well we are going to offer it to former Rob plinka client buddy heeld who is coming off a bit of an underwhelming year therefore opening up the possibility of him taking a pay cut and after trading a away our best three-point shooter in D’Angelo Russell adding buddy heel for only about 5.2 million will be an absolute Lu and with us improving our backourt defense he would no longer be a big issue really being able to take advantage of his three-point shooting without having to worry about him being a liability on defense and then for our final addition I would love to pick up Goa batata here but even in a dream scenario I don’t think it would be likely for a bedroom minimum and with that in mind we’ll be adding a floor spacing big with bu Bowl one of the very few available that could likely be had for a bedroom minimum and after that we will be set we’ll keep our final spot open for the time being for a potential Trader signing later on but I think this would be a great overall team one with plenty of Defense three-point shooting and team continuity and with all that being said what do you guys think how do you feel about the team that I created for my dream scenario let me know your thoughts in the comments down below that will do it for this video though big thank you to those of you took the time to watch until the end of this video and until the end of all my videos in general 1. What would be your "dream scenario" for the Lakers during the offseason? Comment your thoughts down below!

Thanks for watching! Don't forget to subscribe + turn on notifications if you enjoyed! It really does help the channel 🙂

  2. Ideal team
    Caruso Kevin Porter Grimes
    Reaves Max Josh Richardson
    Patrick Williams Vando RoCo
    Lbj Miles Bridges Tristan Silva
    AD Jalen Smith Nick Richards

  3. I like your re-config, except I really don't like Buddy Hield. He gives up more points than he scores, every single night. But at the NTMLE, I understand how you're thinking there. It's really too bad we have poverty ownership and that Rob Pelinka isn't built to pull this sort of current era roster construction off. Really, and this isn't Monday morning quarterbacking, Vogel should still be the coach (how do you fire a guy with a ring and 18-9 playoff record for you?) and the Westbrook trade should've never been made. Right now, Lakers would have more future draft picks, a good coach, KCP, Caruso…and Kuzma (ok yuck, not everything perfect) with much more flexibility to go find a real point guard somewhere (gimme Murray at his cap # over anyone else being discussed). Both of those coaching candidates are pathetic but hard to see who wants to deal with the sh*t show that is the current Lakers situation. RIP Jerry West.

  4. Lol 😂 Sam cassle is not going to go from being an assistant with a championship team to being an assistant for the Lakers he needs to be a head coach.

  5. JSM? I believe the Lakerz, if Dlo, opts in or does S&T to the Magic for Wendell Carter Jr and Jalen Suggs, with two 1st RDPS, or one 1st RDP and 1st Rd pick swap, and other pieces, AND, trade for Zach Lavine, and maybe Alex Caruso for Gabe Vincent, Rui and Austin Reeves and 1st RDP. The Lakerz new starting Lineup would be AD, LBJ, Wendell Carter Jr, Jalen Suggs and Zach Lavine! If somehow we can keep the 17th 1st RDP this year then drafting Kel'el Ware would be perfect., plus we would still have Prince, C.Wood, Vanderbilt and , maybe we could take a flying on that PG KP Jr. What do you thinkJSM?

  6. I like 97% everything you proposed (coaches & players), especially Goba Botaza, & Rondo, except Stots & Bol bol 🤔but at a VM Its ok

I'd like Becky Hammon & Mark Jackson, Bogie Bogdonavic, but with Ltd 💰 Held would be the value pick Veteran shooter.

I wish we could trade for Laurie Makeden 🤔 IF POSSIBLE by trading Rui & Reddish & JHS + 1st

    🫡

  7. Resign DeAngelo Russell LBJ Dwight Howard Andre Drummond and more use him trade bring 15 to 20 players adding on the la Lakers gray Trent Jr Miles Turner Stanley Johnson resign cam reddish

  8. i think there is a reason why these assistant coaches stayed as assistant coaches.

Keep in mind that 2 years ago the Lakers hired the "best" assistant coach in the league.

  9. Man JSM, I wish my Lakers would seriously listen to your recommendations, we'd have a dynamic team already!
    Keep up the good work.

  10. Get your own Porzingis and Jrue Holiday and ur cooking. Only Denver is in your way just like the last few years & it’s your only competition

  11. Trade Dlo(opt in), Rui, Reaves FRP and a swap for Murray and Hunter. Then move Gabe and FRP for Caruso. Bring back max and Dinwiddie. Goga for min

    Murray, Dinwiddie, JHS

    Caruso, Max, Bronny(55)

    Hunter, Vando, Lewis

    LBJ, Wood

    AD, Goga, Hayes

This is my favorite build now, close but I think Hunter and Murray could be amazing for lakers

  12. Good but my question is the wing depth and Rui. We seen on defense Rui gets lost easily and he’s inconsistent in the offensive end imo you gotta trade him for an upgrade.

  13. Love this scenario but rather than getting Buddy, I’d have Max as the back up 2 guard if Im being honest

  14. The Lakers, should stop
    Looking at JJ REDDICK.
    The guy just doesn't have
    Any TRUE NBA EXPRIENCE.
all he has, is his BIG MOUTH.

  15. What I think the Lakers should do is trade Gabe Vincent to try and see if you can move up… but if they can move up.. even a little bit… then I'd draft the best player in the draft in Zach Edey. Then let Max Christie walk.. and sign Mac McClung.. McClung is the better player.. by a landslide. Also, I'd hope Dlo opt-in to his contract to then trade him later. I'd also look to sign Boogie Cousins & Javale Mcgee if Edey is gone earlier in the draft. I would also look to sign Kevin Porter Jr.

  16. I like Rui’s size with Bron and AD in the starting lineup but it really stuck with me how hot and cold he was this season. Falling asleep on defense. Not making his presence felt on the boards. Who would guard the 3?

  17. These trades makes no sense as you literally destroyed their future trade assets for a 1st or second round playoff team at most. The only way I'd trade all our picks is when a possible 3rd disgruntled allstar is made available like If the Cavs want Reaves and picks for Mitchel I'd do it in a heartbeat

  18. Any candidate for the LAKERS head coaching job is okay to me as long as it's NOT that 'FUCKING PODCASTER'! 'jjshitfuckersredickhead'
