*IF the wolves eventually have to make a Rudy or KAT decision this summer I would prefer they trade Rudy because I still believe in KATs upside playing the 5. In order for him to play the 5 we would need him to be with someone that can play the four very effectively defensively and I have a 4am trade to get us that. For some discretion That player has only shown the effectively defensively part only when properly motivated lol.
PS: please don’t kill me. This is the rumblings of a madman that’s up very early in the morning lol

I think this is a trade that sorta proves the Wolves absolutely need to run it back one more year, and anyone who thinks differently is going to be very upset when the Wolves don’t make a move. They just made the conference finals and even this trade predicts 5 less wins for the Wolves. Like it or not the front office clearly has a timeline in mind for this iteration that revolves around the off seasons of 2025 and 2026, when Gobert*, Conley, and Naz’s* contracts all expire. A conference finals exit isn’t going to suddenly make them take a different approach. In 2026 they’ll still have KAT, ANT, and Jaden under contract and decisions to be made, but unless we see some crazy regression next season, there will not be any drastic changes to the make up of this team. This team obviously loves playing with each other and the chemistry is great, I just don’t see why the front office would make a move. The Wolves also seem pretty set on seeing if the internal development from the younger core of NAZ, Jaden, and AnT can get them over the hump.
*Assuming Rudy and Naz pick up player options in 2025, but that’s a road they’ll cross at that point.
