let’s get it welcome back to another LIVE edition of the Hampton show today we have so very much to get into including Draymond Green revealing his explicit reaction to Klay Thompson unfollowing their team we’re going to discuss that and so much more we’re also going to touch on whether LeBron James is more involved with Bron’s draft or the Lakers coaching higher but first obviously the NBA finals were last night and on Tuesdays or Wednesdays we play fact or cap where we go through four to five NBA statements and chat we decide together if it’s fact or Capp let’s start first fact or Capa this is the start of a Celtics Dynasty obviously the day after they won an NBA title in game five in Boston last night this is a fact I would want to say cap if it was a western conference but the fact that the Celtics are in the East changes everything you’re seeing highlights from last night the Celtics were 16 and3 in the postseason they are the sixth different NBA champion in the last six years but they can finally be the one in my opinion that sticks now before all of this parody there was the Warriors the Miami Heat the San Antonio Spurs the LA Lakers the Chicago Bulls and so on I think the Boston Celtics in this Eastern Conference climate can crawl into that conversation Jason Tatum is hours away from signing a 5year 315 million contract and brown last summer signed a $300 million deal and won Finals MVP one year later you remember all that noise about Jaylen Brown being the highest paid player in the history of the NBA he has silenced it all with this Finals MVP he won last night and in addition to Tatum and brown being under contract Drew is also under contract and so is Chris staps poor zingis Al Horford came out and said he’s going to run it back I understand that the new CBA will limit Boston’s flexibility but would it will also limit the people chasing them right I mean in the Eastern Conference the Milwaukee Bucks are gonna have to find a way to compete with them as Doc Rivers as their head coach with Chris Middleton on that roster they have yet to find the chemistry between Damen Lillard and Gian s Copo and outside of Milwaukee the Philadelphia 76ers seem like they have the best chance if they get Paul George but that still is a long shot so in the Eastern Conference the only people that can really challenge Jason Tatum and Duce as you see them hugging on screen is the Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers both teams that have major questions the main reasons that this is the start of a dynasty in Boston is because they have a large room for error remember this team won multiple playoff games without Chris STS porzingis and with Jason Tatum not being at his best the addition of Drew holl and porzingis made the margin for error on a Tatum and brown front so much bigger because if you look in the years past Boston got bounced by teams they should not have gotten beaten by the Miami Heat I truly think they were a more talented team than the Golden State Warriors two years ago but now with holiday and porzingis expanding their room for error you saw them cruise to an NBA title yes it was one of the easiest pass in the Eastern Conference they can only play who’s above them and the last man standing in a brutal Western Conference was the Dallas Mavericks the Dallas Mavericks were a team that on their way there beat three 5 win teams there they beat the LA Clippers the number one seed Oklahoma City Thunder and the team who knocked off the defending champs and the Minnesota Timberwolves Boston annihilated them next on fact or cap is Jaylen Brown deserve the finals MVP chat let me know how you feel about this my reaction is simple I think Brad Stevens did the collection of this talent that He has put together again as I run the highlights from last night is unfathomable obviously you cannot give Finals MVP to a GM but he is the reason this team is here Brad Stevens deserved the finals MVP and I know again you cannot give it to a GM but he is the reason this team is here let’s let’s go back and look at everything Brad Stevens did for his team to be popping champagne as they were in the locker room last night this is what Brad Stevens did he traded for Kimo Walker back in he traded Kimo Walker for Al Horford back in 2021 he did not trade Jaylen Brown for Kevin Durant he traded Langford for Derek white he traded Marcus Smart for Chris STS porzingis and two first round picks he resigned Jaylen Brown to that $300 million deal that got extremely criticized he traded Malcolm Brockton and Robert Williams for Drew holiday and he has already resigned Chris saps porzingis Andrew Holiday Brad Stevens is the real Finals MVP shout out to him Jaylen Brown obviously welld deserved as a player you could have said so many different names and I would have been fine with them but Brad Stevens is the true finals MVP for the Boston Celtics Celtics raised their 18th B janner last night and they passed their longtime rival who they were tied with the LA Lakers I just had a YouTube short come out about this but the next statement on fact or cap is LeBron is more involved with Bron’s draft than LA’s coaching higher I’m gonna say it again LeBron is more involved with Bron’s draft than LA’s coaching hire is this fact or cap to me it’s an absolute fact and Hall of Famer Reggie Miller believes the same thing Reggie Miller got asked about this very subject on The Dan Patrick Show yesterday and he said this quote he’s definitely been more involved with bronny and that number 55 pick he added between LeBron Rich Paul and bronny he is more focused on that his son than the coaching higher that is his blood and he’s made it no secret he wants to play with him I don’t want to say le Lebron is plotting Bron’s draft but LeBron is plotting Bron’s draft and another report came out to support that notion Bron’s out here dodging other NBA teams the only squads he’s had a meeting with is obviously the LA Lakers we saw that footage leak last week but he’s also met with the Phoenix Suns the Phoenix Suns to me is a ploy for the Lakers to possibly trade up and get bronny James but outside of that other teams have reached out to bronny about work workouts and he has declined them and I think that’s because LeBron is behind the scenes talking to Rich Paul who is Bron’s agent as well as LeBron’s agent about where he wants him to end up so yes it is a fact that LeBron is more involved with br’s draft than their coaching higher number four on this list is the thumbnail and title of this video chat Factor cap Clay’s unfollow means something just a little backstory here as I pull up the thumbnail on screen that is uh not that where my camera is not popped up here I am all right good I’m back on here uh pull up the thumbnail on screen obviously if you’ve been living under a rock Klay Thompson unfollowed the Golden State Warriors on Instagram that in itself is not a big deal but he also deleted every picture on his Instagram that was Warriors related does this mean something Factor cap to me this means nothing it’s cap this is simply a leverage move by Klay Thompson Draymond Green um on his podcast addressed this and he had some interesting comments obviously he’s not going to go without saying a cuss word he said I think it’s effing hilarious I know so many people were looking forward to me talking about this Instagram drama he added nobody’s feelings are hurt it is just comical a lot of free agents do this a lot of free agents unfollow their own team to Simply send up a social media signal that hey I’m not afraid to leave nobody buys it Brian wior said today that I would be shocked if he left the Golden State Warriors a team where he built a dynasty a team of franchise where he won four titles with to go to the Orlando Magic nothing against poo Bank and the great things they are building there but I assume bro wants to retire a warrior Klay Thompson I’ve said it many many times on these live streams he’s gonna try to do what Draymond Green did last year Draymond Green got a four-year hundred million extension last summer because he had interest outside of Golden State Draymond said himself the only reason I got four years 100 million is because the Memphis Grizzlies were interested in me and I use that as leverage for the Warriors to get the deal I wanted Klay Thompson is going to use the Orlando Magic in the exact same fashion the question this time is are the Warriors gonna make that same mistake twice because if we’re being honest the year that Draymond Green had that four years 100 million was a mistake you can argue this team is a playoff off Squad if Draymond Green was not suspended multiple times this season are they going to make the same mistake with Klay Thompson I think Klay Thompson’s similar to Andre Iguodala several years ago where Iguodala ended up getting a big contract from the Warriors but was towards the end of his career ideally if I had to make a prediction if I had to look at a crystal ball into Klay Thompson’s future this will be his last year in the NBA career lows across the board for him last year I think time is ticking for Klay Thompson and the fact that there are still teams willing to give him a three to fouryear extension is insane to me reports came out that last summer the Warriors offered Klay Thompson a 2-year $48 million contract which would been $24 million a year he declined it because he’s looking for at least three years he wants an at least a three-year extension he wants that guaranteed money over the next several years he knows things are approaching the end does his unfollow mean something cap no it doesn’t it’s simply just a leverage play like with the handful of years you have left with Stephen Curry he is that great ta Smith said what NBA free agent would you like to see the Grizzlies sign not a free agent but I would have loved to see the Grizzlies trade for a Jared Allen a Jaylen Duran I understand they’re probably going to draft Donovan kingan they’ve been very interested in talking to a ton of teams about trading up for him I am more of a veteran proven big kind of guy because Donovan kingan is an offensive big who requires touches he is not Derek Lively he is not Derek Lively he is an offensive big who requires touch is to be successful and I am old enough to remember the Golden State Warriors having one down year before their last fourth championship and in that one down year they had the number three overall pick or excuse me number two overall pick and instead of taking uh lamelo ball they decided to take James wisman because quote unquote it was a perfect fit if a rookie big did not work for the Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry I don’t think it’s going to work for Memphis Grizzlies as great as J jiren Jackson and Desmond Bane are I do not want to rely on a rookie in postseason moments not everybody is Derek Lively we saw a flash in the pan Rarity on how Derek Lively can affect postseason basketball he’s a great fit with Luca he’s a lob threat Donovan kingan is not that he is not that that’s how I feel as far as free agents um I don’t know if they’re going to be that active in free agency the Grizzlies do not have that much money to spend I think they’re more of hey let’s run it back healthy add a big to the equation and see where we go from there Mr bro 2000 said if Mitchell doesn’t sign with the Cavs who will he sign with I think he does resign with the Cavaliers if it’s not the Cavs I think it’s the New York Knicks the team he originally wanted to go to but again highly unlikely I believe he resigns with the Cleveland Cavaliers lot 4050 what’s good with you siphon edit said what I think the finals from a storyline perspective even though they were boring it was a horrible finals to watch I liked I liked the Boston Dallas matchup with the Kyrie storyline there yes Denver Boston would have been the two quote unquote best teams this season but I like where we ended up outside of the Conference Finals I like the finals that we got let me know what you think about that far as build around you build around them both right now the 76ers are in the best scenario of this offseason they have a former MVP and Joel embiid a rising Superstar and Tyrese Maxi and a Max slot care of himself mentally off the court not making those uh mistakes and also I feel like Shay is a more reliable franchise Cornerstone right now than johnar John has a higher ceiling I think John Mor’s a better player but I would start my franchise with SGA JJ PR said what is your opinion about the Pacers I Envision the Pacers doing exactly what the Atlanta Hawks did after their Conference Finals run those you don’t know I mean we all remember the Atlanta Hawks making that Conference Finals run Trey young in 2021 but they had a worst a worse record every year since then 2022 was worse than 21 23 24 so on I Envision the Pacers buying in to this Fool’s Gold of a injury ravage Eastern Conference doubling down on Tyrese Halbert and Pascal sakam they have already hit their ceiling with that core with Tyrese and Pascal as your best players I think their ceiling was already reached I think it’s only down from here unfortunately because you got to keep in mind Milwaukee’s only going to be better I mean the Pacers it took them six games to beat the bucks without Giannis without Dame for half the series and without Chris Middleton for the final game of that series Milwaukee will be back New York will be back and healthier Philly will be back and healthier the Boston Celtics are the defending World Champs I don’t Envision the Pacers doing any better or doing the same as they did this year got a question said do you think Tatum got robbed from the finals MVP no I do not I think Jaylen Brown yes Tatum has better numbers you can make an argument Tatum was my finals MVP but I’m
