BREAKING: Monty Williams OUT of Detroit 🚨 Stephen A. reacts + JJ Redick-Lakers update?! | Get Up

Zach literally just showed this to me we have more breaking news we had the news about Pascal seak now we have this from W right after one season the Detroit Pistons have dismissed coach Monty Williams who leaves with five years and over $65 million left on his deal right new president Tran Langan will move to make his own coaching higher now I will say this hey here’s what I will tell you Monty Williams is is obviously a God-fearing man very religious and what have you he needs to get on his knees and look up and thank the he his Heavenly Father he was let out of that miserable situation in Detroit I know where that was going he couldn’t be he couldn’t be happier I know he’s going to be happy and obviously he’s going to have other opportunities down the line because that situation in Detroit was an absolute mess he regretted it from the time he got there is just that something he’ll never say and every every other coach in the league is thanking him for the deal he signed there that’s right that’s good point no question does he do he go in the mix now like do we expect him to coach somewhere next year should should is he Willam is he’s a hell of a coach he’s very well respected he’s likable he’s he’s one of those guys where he’s respected in the locker room so you have a lot of guys that can do the X’s and O’s but do you have the respect of your guys in the locker room can you bring those guys together he’s proven to do that he did that in New Orleans he can do that yes it be interesting to see what winds up happening and then and then the Laker thing uh just because I have you here and I’m taking advantage of it for the one minut I’m here for you I’m here for you baby here are we expected to do do we assuming it is JJ reck who winds up in that job which all the signs seem to be pointing to Let’s assume he’ll get offered it oh we don’t know if he’ll accept it because if the Lakers try and lowball him or they they they reveal yet again there’s some financial difficulties that they’ll take into consideration you never know because again this is what I will say about JJ reick I think he’s a brilliant basketball mind we got mad respect for him we got love for him here at this at this network I can tell you that much but he is in acquired taste you understand JJ knows I love I love you JJ but he’s in a quiet taste all right he’s he’s my cup of tea he ain’t everybody’s cup of tea and when and and JJ does not suffer fools much he he does it’s hard for him to tolerate well some people would perceive there being a lot of foolishness from time to time with the Lakers organization I’m not calling any of them that I love me some Genie I respect Roba Linka Linda rampus is great Kurt Ram stuff like that you know we’ve told Kurt rampus in the can’t be in those coaches rooms when you were a head coaching you were 100 games under 500 they don’t want to see you there and so you got to take those things in consideration somebody like JJ dealing with the Myriad of things that coaching the Lakers will throw in your direction wow that that’s a lot to ask that brother to do so again they’ll might or they’ll offer him the job will he want it will he accept it remains to be SE I have 30 seconds before I have to send these guys back you like it or no the thing I don’t like about for JJ he’s the second guy there they wanted Hurley right and so he’s going to run into La that franchise when he is sort of the second choice if you’re JJ that would bother me a little bit plus he’s got a big job as it is right now [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]

  1. He didnt even try to fix the pistons. He put out awful lineups and did nothing to develop our young talent. He was worthless and Tom Gores was an idoit to hire him.

  2. He is not a great coach. Especially not when it comes to coaching people to become better regarding mental coaching. Look what he couldn't do in Phoenix with the Deandre issue.

  3. 5 years $65million for free? Nba is the new powerball/mega millions ticket. I forgot that the Pistons even exist.

  4. Hey U D, the Celtics are celebrating on your beach as you speak! Go back to the bench where you belong.

  5. Monty can’t do rotations… he has no scheme… can’t recognize who should start and shouldn’t.

  6. Detriot will never be good with Tom Gores, their team owner. It simply comes down to that!

(big ups to Monty for getting 10 years of his lifespan back)

  7. He won coach of the year in 2022…… fired in his first year is insane. Steve Nash kept his job longer.
