Brandin Podziemski or Moses Moody – who should start for the Golden State Warriors?

the reality of the situation is Klay Thompson could be moving on from the Golden State Warriors who could step up into the starting lineup Moses Moody Brandon psky two names circling around that two spot Kevin Dan and I will break it down who’s ready to start for the Warriors if the season were to start tomorrow that’s coming up now on locked on Warriors you are locked on Warriors your daily summer hopefully you’ve got a little bit more downtime time right now Kevin because yeah in basketball season you’re one of the busiest guys I know he thanks for having me on kylin great to be here great to be back on lock on Warriors and yeah thankfully a little more downtime July will be a little busier looking forward to Summer League some French national team games I’m looking forward to doing pre-olympics I’m not doing the Olympics I want to make sure that’s clear but uh yeah so July will be fun just H doing some draft prep right now and ready talk a little BP in M Square no one calls Moses Moody M square but uh yeah and uh whatever else we’re going to talk about in the next 30 minutes or so or however long we go I’m ready to rock let’s start that M squared I mean we could be the first Originators of a new nickname for Moses Moody uh love to hear you on summer league and whenever you’re on the call you just have such a natural voice Kevin like just the way you talk is exactly the way you sound on the air you’re such a just normal like natural personality so I really just want to say I love listening to you you do an excellent job and Kevin is the voice of the Santa Cruz Warriors in case you’re not familiar hopefully you are but be sure to keep an eye out when that season rolls around some of those games do air in NBC Sports Bara NBC Sports Bara plus okay let’s dive into the conversation that I want to be the focal point of today’s episode it actually came up yesterday in talking about Klay Thompson possibly moving on from the Warriors it’s becoming more of a reality as we’re finding out that maybe the talks aren’t going quite as planned he’s unfollowing the Golden State Warriors there seems to be a bit of a discrepancy in terms of the length of time in a contract that he wants according to reports and sources that are out right now and the dollar amount the Warriors can match so very uncertain in terms of whether Klay Thompson will be back next season so let’s look ahead to the Future what could this Warriors lineup look like next season sure they’re going to make moves in the offseason but if there is a void to fill at the two spot and you have to look internally at someone on the roster right now who’s ready two names have come up Brandon pky and Moses Moody both young players both you can make an argument for stepping into the two roll but just right off the bat between those to who do you think is more ready right now to be a full-time starter for this Warriors team is and I I want to preface this by saying I really hope Klay Thompson comes back but in the world that Klay Thompson is not on the Golden State Warriors next year I think Brandon pky would suit what the Warriors would need a little more because I think they need someone who can create uh a little bit of offense in addition to Stephen Curry not just have Steph Curry be the only Creator obviously on green can create offense but I I I like what Brandon psky can do with the ball in his hands if you needed just someone who’s just like strictly a floor spacer then I think Moses Moody would fit that role better but I I think you need kind of the the tool set that pmy brings so my my kneer reaction is that pky would fit that role better for this Golden State team okay like the knee-jerk reaction uh my knee-jerk reaction is the opposite that I think Moses Moody would be better to slot in there but really quickly just want to throw out some of the specs some of the stats on these two to give people or to lay the groundwork for the conversation Brandon psky 64 so going to be on the smaller side for a two guard 205 he came in when he was drafted at 195 so has put on some weight 21 years old 6 foot6 wingspan and this is one area where there’s a big discrepancy between Moses Moody is the massive wingspan and Brandon pmy 39 inch running vertical was in the 89th percentile of his draft class remember he was selected 19th overall last year in 2023 coming off his rookie campaign so does have the athleticism and I think it translated well to the NBA with what we saw now you’ve got Moses Moody 14th pick back in 2021s NBA draft entering his fourth season 65 212 7 foot wing span that’s to me the big difference in terms of having that length that they’re looking for on the outside now that length also has lended to Moody playing the three spot and possibly looking at a three and D type of player I think he’s a better Defender than pky but just looking at the size discrepancy one thing that’s come up is concerned that the Warriors back court would be too small with a Brandon psky next to a Steph Curry now the average size of a two guard in the NBA this past season was 65 I couldn’t find a clearcut uh weight for that but Brandon psky would be coming in undersized do you have concerns defensively about teams being able to attack this back court because of the size of Brandon pmy and Steph Curry playing alongside each other yeah I mean that’s certainly a fair point and when I think about a smallish back court my thought my brain immediately goes as an old school Warriors fan if you will old school quote unquote to Monte Ellis famously saying that he and Steph Curry couldn’t coexist in the same back court when Steph got drafted back in 2009 now this is a little bit of a different situation obviously and I’m not comparing Brandon psky Deonte Ellis but I don’t have those same defensive concerns because I think Brandon psk is a very good Team Defender uh as evidenced by his team NBA leading charges taken that to me signifies that he knows how to rotate over defensively be in the right spots defensively and I mean one of those charges taken won a game at Portland in December now I I do think like Moses obvious VI ly with the wingspan and he is a prototypical three and D kind of guy and he has improved every year he’s got more minutes I know the fan base really wants to see Moses Moody play like 25 minutes a game he’s working his way there he’s working wanted to play 40 minutes a game yeah I mean the way we talked about Moses Moody is like he was Scotty pipping but um and look I love Moses Moody and I think he did a really good job this year for large chunks of the season and I think he has a really nice role in the future of his NBA career decade Plus in the NBA but I do think that pky defensively I think he has shown some chops on that end of the floor to where I don’t think it’s a huge drop off between he and Moses Moody and I I would actually prefer kind of Brandon just because of his team concept defense and his ability to draw charges even though he’s a little bit smaller and he’s given up you said six6 Wings span so he’s given up six inches wingspan to Moses Moody uh I I think and I’m not saying Moses is a smart player so I’m not saying Brandon’s intellect makes up for a deficit of Moses’s intellect that’s not what I’m saying because Moses has shown us he’s one of the most mature dudes out there but I just think I mean as a rookie to lead the league and charges taken shows you know just what kind of basketball IQ he has yeah 100% his basketball IQ is something that stood out immediately in transitioning into the league it shows in the defensive end it shows in the offensive end when you look at the assist to turnover ratio of 3 to one for a rookie who handles the rock a lot to me like right off the bat offensively you could say that lends itself to good decision- making and being able to see the game I think that when you look back at his highlights you see a lot that really showcases passing ability he can find his Shooters in the pocket I think he’s good and pretty smooth in running the pick and roll being able to find whoever’s rolling on the bounce pass or finding some of those different looks I think it’s on display on both ends so th% agree that I think that Brandon psky is a high IQ and that’s something that’s shown and would continue to pay off for the Warriors both offensively and defensively all right want to point out the stats from this past season since we’re making the comparison between these two 9.2 points per game 5.8 boards per game 3.7 assists average 26 more than 26 and a half 26.6 minutes per game and 74 games played I’m sure you can guess that’s Brandon psky statline did average 1.2 turnovers per game but again given the assisted turnover ratio is more than 3 to1 you’re okay with that shot around 40 5 a half% from the field 38 and a half% from three-point land not a super high volume shooter but averaged more than 1 three per game and in that two- roll could certainly space the floor with that type of percentage only shot 63% from the free throw line was an all rookie first team selection offensive rating listen to this was 80th in the league ahead of LeBron James and Steph Curry at 117.5 that is a fact and that is a fact that surprised me just kind of curious does that surprise you at all see the offensive rating that high like I said maybe just because the way he’s read the game and the efficiency numbers really are good yeah I wouldn’t not have a guessed that he had a higher offensive rate in Stephen Curry and LeBron James so so does that make Brandon pky the second best player of all time behind Michael Jordan are we having an MJ debate all right Claire that’s that’s our next first take uh article you mentioned the free throw percentage and that was a shocker I mean not like when you said it because I remember him not shooting free throws well like when I see him at the line I mean he shot 77% from the line at Santa CL like to me that’s an aberration I’m not worried about 63% going forward I I expect him to live in the mid to high to the low to mid 80s for his career going forward that was kind of a shocking number but yeah the the offensive rating that that did take me for for a [Music] detour passion drive and patience the formula for winning customers so Brandon pky to me a big thing that sets him apart and makes him special is The X Factor the it Factor you look at his ability to rebound for his size it’s something he also did at the Collegiate level at Santa Clara that was something that was noted because I remember I actually pulled up some notes I had last year doing a draft show for the locked on podcast Network and I had a lot of notes did a ton of research on a bunch of players and like I had that specifically sticking out is one his ability to read defenses the decision-making the passing ability and then like the incredible rebounding ability is something that has carried over to the NBA and just the way he carries himself like the confidence and Swagger maybe would be the right word in some of his interviews I mean you hear that he’s the one who’s giving Draymond Green a hard time or pushing Draymond Green and like coming in as a rookie and like saying stuff to him like to me that’s also the level of competitor and Firepower that you look for from a big star or a future star or someone who just has like I said that it factor is something else that I do think is worth noting maybe a reason why Brandon psky has a potential higher ceiling and I love I love the way that Moses Moody carries himself seems very even Keel doesn’t get higher low so this is not an indictment on him as you said as earlier when you’re talking about Brandon psky like this isn’t necessarily a knock on Moses Moody but to me like there’s something that’s a little bit extra about Brandon psky that makes me think like this guy could be a star in this league you got to watch him at Santa Cruz and I want to hear a little bit about your experiences getting to see him up close and personal because another big X Factor to me is when you’re not on the big stage and you’re not starting with the main Warriors group and you’re down in Santa Cruz like what do you look like what kind of work and effort are you putting in um that also is what leads to Great stardom and great players so from what you saw from him both with the Warriors and then with the cdubs what did you take away from the way he carried himself well well before I get into that kylin I gotta mention because you’re talking about the X Factor so I hosted the the the draft press conference last year after he and Trace got drafted Kirk lob I was talking with him be be before the press conference and he said to your point about that expar he’s like you’re gonna like this kid Brandon psky like there’s there’s something about him like it you know just something about the way that he handles business and you know what he showed in workouts that that toughness that that doesn’t show up in the Box Score necessarily well I mean I guess the charges taken does show up in the Box Score sort of like an advanced box score but yeah it it was something that the the Golden State Warriors brass loved about him is that X Factor that you were talking about now there have been I’m trying to think in my head there have been two guys that I can think of who have been assigned for exactly one game with the Santa Cruz Warriors from Golden State the first guy was Justin holiday who later became a rotation player in that first championship team of this iteration of the Warriors their first title in 40 years in the 20145 season and the second guy was Brandon psky he had like 24 points and seven assists I want to say in the one game he played I could pull it up right here right I was going to say I remember the stint where he got sent down I remember him playing incredible but it’s so funny I didn’t realize it was literally one game for some reason in my mind it was like a couple weeks because I know it was a one pretty F night stint but still that’s actually incredible soad yeah 24 yes he is so 24.7 rebounds four assists was a game and like after that they’re like all right I mean it it was and basically it would the the game the night before Thanksgiving I think was the one where he really showed himself and I can’t remember if that was Phoenix or I want to say it was Phoenix where he just played incredible there was a game against Minnesota early in the season as well where he really popped it was kind of those two games and it was not that long after his assignment and after after that point you’re like all right we’re never gonna see him again I think we got trace for like four games this year I say we as a as an employee of the Santa Cruz Warriors I’ll try to do better about that but um you were also coaching you were broadcasting you’re part of the team just kid but that was the thing that stood out to me is like he was he was there for a little bit because he was practicing the week of with the team sometimes you just assign a player day of and then they’re back but he was practicing you know at least a couple of days before with the team and like just kind of fit right in felt so comfortable in his own skin down in Santa Cruz and and that’s a that’s another thing you kind of look for is is a guy meshing with his g-league teammates and the best example of this in Golden State history is Kent basemore he came in and like thanked the team after a game for like integrating him into the offense he’s like I know I’m taking some of your guys’ minutes I I just really appreciate the opportunity to play down here and this was his rookie year and he was able to have like a nine to 10 year career in the NBA so like those kind of traits will take you a long way and Brandon was able to to integrate himself with his teammates in that short stint obviously had a great game and uh you know good things certainly came out of it the Santa Cruz Warriors got off to a great start in the the g-league uh showcase cup portion of their schedule helped them get to the semis of the Showcase cup and Brandon was a part of that at least for that one game and then it was very evident that he was no longer needed in Santa Cruz after that yeah or maybe he was needed more by the Warriors up at Chase Center uh one or the other okay last question before I want to move on to Moses Moody and some of the injustices he’s faced early in his career and I say injustices because I have been one of the people that have been calling kosa smoody to play more whether he’s the starting two guard guard or not I think that he has deserved uh more of a run for this team to this point and I hope we see it in his fourth NBA season Brandon psky though to me with the size with the handles with the passing ability uh with the way that he can run an offense and the good decision making solid defense I do see him being a point guard in this league and something that’s been brought up is that he should be or would be a great fit to be the backup to Steph Curry and then take over for Steph Curry when you look ahead to the future of this organization let’s face it stephson his late 30s at some point it’s got to happen uh do you think it’s worth considering priming him for that type of role or do you think you go all in on Brandon psky as a two yeah I mean I think in today’s NBA it’s it’s so less position based it’s more kind of like what fits NE and like I think if you can have a couple of ball handlers on the court at the same time then defenses can’t necessarily load up and and like basically Steph doesn’t have to wear himself out as much if if someone can share the ball handling load with him to you know because some of Steph’s best stuff is off the ball and I know there are fans who only want to see Steph the you know the gimm park offense right you you just Steph pick and roll every day uh but but um for every possession but I I do think there is value in giving Steph some quote unquote possessions off where he doesn’t have to bring it up every time I mean as good a shape as he is he is 36 years old and I say that as a 37 year old myself that like look he is on the back half of his career and you do want to save him him as much as you can and I think Brandon can help out in that and I do think he could be a starting point guard in the future but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he has to be the backup point guard and strictly in that role totally fair I think you make a great point about the NBA as a whole being more positionist and then specifically looking at the Warriors offense and the way it runs and the motion offense there’s constant cutting multiple screens happening you can have Draymond Green running this offense at the end of the day it doesn’t have to be someone who’s an incredible dribbler per se when you think of more a traditional point guard so I think that’s a great point I also think that it does help having someone who can handle the rock working in the back court with Steph Curry because of that ability for him to free up for him to find himself in catch and shoot situations coming off screens where he’s able to get open rather than having to create for himself off the dribble or in the pick and roll so I like that I like having a two guard who can be interchangeable at the one or running the offense doing some of the dribbling doing some of the ball handling I love all of that I do also though get some of the concerns on size now I do want to get into Moses Moody here in a minute coming [Music] up oh man it’s hard to believe we got another couple months before NBA season rolls around again however you’ve got WNBA in action MLB in action right now and while you’re watching all of those Sports one way to make things way more interesting is by putting some cash on the line and you can do that through FanDuel Sportsbook it’s a great way to spice up watching some of those games until you wait for the Warriors to get back in action for example maybe you’re watching the giant at Cubs and Giants are coming in as favorites to this one um maybe you want to put your money on the Giants that’s an option I personally Chicago area native actually I can’t even say that I’d put my money on the Cubs it’s been an up and down battle uh since they won FanDuel Sportsbook is the way to go if you do want to put your money on any type of MLB game WNBA highly advise you consider watching that as well for basketball fans it’s been crazier than the NBA finals in terms of storylines drama all kinds of action Celtics but you could bet who going to finish with a certain number of home runs at the end of the season who’s going to lead the MLB in home runs that kind of thing visit fanduel.com lockon and add a big win to your summer bucket list FanDuel America’s number one sports [Music] book Justice for Moses Moody the time is now um so I do feel bad and when you look at the stats and I was comparing the stats of the two I just wonder if Moses Moody had gotten the type of minutes that Brandon psky has gotten as a rookie where would Moses Moody be now it’s a fair question to ask you look at pods 9.2 points per game 5.8 boards all those great stats but he did play 26.6 minutes per game Moses moody this past season his third year played 17 and a half minutes per game so you’re looking at nine more minutes in each game where he can make an impact and this year with 17 and a half minutes per game Moody averaged just over eight points three boards one assist uh only s turnovers which also is a good indicator of his mature and some of the decision- making that we’ve talked about shot 46.2% from the field 36% from three-point range which has been consistently the mark that he’s been at throughout his threeyear tenure with the Warriors 78 and a half from the free throw line offensive rating nowhere near Brandon psky but his defensive rating is higher than Brandon psky based in their performances last season um I do think that Moses Moody could fit into a three and d rooll and I like that we’ve talked about the length um but I do think he’s polished I think he’s ready for a starting whether it be at the two whether it be at the three if they can’t find an upgraded 3 and D or if Andrew Wiggins doesn’t end up panning out I think that Moses Moody could step in there I do think that regardless of the psky versus Moody conversation I think Moses Moody could be a starter in the NBA right now what’s your take I think he’s best suited as like an eighth man uh and that’s no knock on Moses Moody I I I think like I think I see upside as a starter for Moses moody in like a Roy O’Neal role with the Phoenix Suns whereas you got like your Superstars and you just need one someone to space the floor and play good defense and know what to do know to make the right play and like Royce O’Neal former Golden State Summer leager by the way I I broadcast his games when uh he was on the Golden State War summer league Squad but like I I’m a big Royce O’Neal fan I think that’s kind of like a a role that Moses Moody can have in the future like a perfect like complimentary complimentary piece in your starting five right now I think he’s a really solid bench piece and I would like to see him get more minutes as everyone else I I I would like to see him be at 20 to 22 minutes per game this year and I I think he’s only going to continue to impress and improve uh I I really like him but right now I like him as a as a complimentary piece Off the Bench as opposed to you being a being a starter okay fair we like the discourse um I will say that a lot of players make that big jump in the fourth year I still think there’s potential Moody could even make a bigger jump especially if he gets more minutes um so it’ll be interesting to see how the Warriors use him I agree like I don’t know that I see the ceiling for Moody being a superstar um but I do think that he could be a great role player in a starting role in the right situation is that right situation currently with the Warriors it’s going to depend on how this roster shakes out because they need more star power and they need a consistent secondary score I don’t think Moses Moody is ready to be the the consistent secondary score like I think we’re way ways off of that but at the same time like I think that if he stepped into a starting role whether it be with the Warriors or in another situation like I think that he could do it like I definitely think he could do it I’m with you on some type of role player complimentary piece to other stars and others who are the lead scorers plays good defense makes good decisions can space the floor can hit the three ball uh can grab some rebounds take advantage in moments in transition like I still think that he can do a lot of the Dirty Work he can do he does all little things right right like that’s one of the reasons why that this organization likes him so much but I do think it’s a shame when you see a dnp dnp dnp and there have been situations this past season where I would have liked to see him get run over a Corey Joseph and it’s like oh well they don’t play the same position well as we just talked about the war’s offense often is positionist and the NBA is more positionist as we move forward like I still would have liked to see a way where we can reconfigure the rotations Kerr is doing to to work him in uh oh you’re you’re you’re making a face and you look like you have something to say um so what is it what what’s your be with my mention of Corey Joseph because I want to hear it okay because I’ve I’ve heard people not not just you kylin a lot of people say why is Corey Joseph playing over Moses m why is Ty Jerome playing over Moses Moody and yes you’re right we talked about how the NBA is positionist but as we saw with the Phoenix Suns you still need somebody to get your team into its offense yeah and that’s what Corey Joseph did see but that’s where like I said see rotations I would like to see the rotations like maybe you have a rotation where pods is the one running the floor and you find a way to get Moses Moody and maybe you have a rotation like I said there’s times in the second you where Draymond Green’s running the floor yeah so like I I think there’s definitely a point that you’re making and I think it’s a good point but you know I still would like to see the staff I guess get more creative and trying to take away maybe some minutes from some of those guys who aren’t the future of the organization to get those minutes back to Moses Moody and maybe cor Corey Joseph isn’t the right person to bring up I’m just laughing because I know how much Warriors fans love Cory Jon I thought he was unduly I thought he got some unfair hate it makes me laugh um because I I fell victim to it at times too where I’m like why is Corey Joseph playing the fourth quarter I never want to see him in the fourth quarter of any game but to be honest like he did what he was brought into to do he’s a third string point guard like what do you yes I completely agree I he was brought in he did what he was brought in to do yeah I just like I said I just laugh like I said I got caught up in it but some he got a lot of hate from some fans um I still would like to see creativity basically is my bottom line to find a way to get Moses Moody up over the 20- minute threshold which is kind of a threshold that you pointed at okay so let’s say last question for you last last one before we go if the Warriors and this is actually kind of interesting to bring up right now because on 957 the game today Bob Fitzgerald said that he doesn’t think the Warriors need to make any major roster changes he thinks it comes from within Draymond Green not being suspended for a number of games the whole team being healthy Trace Jackson Davis evolving Brandon pky evolving Moses Moody evolving and some of these players taking on bigger roles Andrew Wiggins getting back to where he was could solve all the problems I think that’s seeing things through a little bit of rose colored goggles here if we’re if we’re being completely honest but I do think there’s something to be said for some of the internal pieces right now being able to take on bigger roles if you were to make a starting five right now based on who the Warriors have at this moment who would it be it would be Steph clay we’re assuming so but you say right even though he’s a free agent we’re saying he’s on the all right plays on the roster so roster as it stands Steph clay Dre Jackson Davis kaminga I think that’s that’s the five I’m going with that was just kind of Spitfire rapid fire kaminga would you put kaminga at the three so you’ve got Dre and Trace Jackson Davis I would assume would be the four and five you’ve got Stephen Clay so K in get the three yeah he need to take a jump in shooting he I actually like the idea of JK at the three creates some mismatch nightmares but the three-point shooting to me is the big issue to be a floor spacer he has to get those numbers up but hey in some of the workout videos he’s posted it looks like he’s working on three-point shooting so that’d be nice yeah I mean everybody does work on three-point shooting in the off season and like there was one season where Jonathan kaminga shot like 37% from three now it wasn’t a lot of attempts but like he has moments where he can knock down the three and like the shot does not look broke to me it it looks like there’s something there so obviously that would be the thing like I think that was a concern for Jaylen Brown Early in his career can he knock down perimeter jumpers and look I’m not gonna say he’s gonna be you know the finals MVP and year eight of his NBA career but like I do think there is star potential with Jonathan kaminga and to me it’d be tough it’d be very tough to keep him out of the lineup but and I think you need size and that’s why I wouldn’t want to start you know put Draymond Green at the five necessarily all the time and and look Draymond Green was a bit of a floor spacer this year for Golden State and like knew he’s done it before like he Shoto yeah he was 40% from three this year I round 39.5 up personally he was 39.1 in the pre Kevin Durant year 1516 so like he is shown this before even though he had a large swath of his career where he was not hitting threes at a rate that Warriors fans would like to see but if he can continue to shoot 39 oh I forgot about Andrew Wiggins I I think you gotta I oh are you starting Andrew Wiggins I mean I ideally yes like yeah wow then I then I get I mean I’m ready to move Wiggins to the bench that’s where I’m out I actually like your starting lineup more than I like an Andrew being the lineup and I like Trace Jackson Davis getting a bigger role I actually like that move and I love him at the five I love the games where rest started at the five so I’m with you but you’re put wigg back in so I will say like people I think people forget the first half of the 2223 season before Andrew got uh injured he was really good he was on Pace I think to be an All-Star that year and then he got injured and he had a 31-point game then he got injured and then there was the The Family Matter uh and then and then there then you know he came back for the Kings series um and wasn’t you know the same guy I thought we saw Mo he had a really rough start to the year I thought once the calendar turned to 2024 he was better he still wasn’t at the level of 2022 Andrew Wiggins I do think that he can get back to that level I mean he’s only what 20 29 years old 28 I think he turns 29 yeah yeah he’s a 1996 1995 1996 date of birth I I can’t quite remember but as long it’s not 2000s or later because that just Mak yeah I think he’s 95 I think he’s 95 because he was uh NBA draft class of 14 um so I I do think that he can get back to that level if he is going to be the Andrew Wiggins of 2023 24 then maybe that’s not going to cut it for for Golden State 100% like then they’re going to win 40 something games and be in the playin again but if he can get back to 17 18 points a game five six rebounds three four assists shoot 40% high 30s from three then that’s a team that doesn’t need to make wholesale changes if everyone else makes the expected leaps from the younger guys and Steph is still Steph and Clay gives you know kind of the performance he gave this year which was up and down but had plenty of strong moments and obviously had some very big down moments but like if he can still give you 17 18 a game then I yeah I I think there is reason to believe that this team could win 50 plus games they won 46 this year and uh tricked a lot of games away so yeah they they blew a lot of leads this year I the big question is which Andrew Wiggins is gonna show up is it pre you pointed out the injury personal issues is it going to be that Andrew Wiggins or is it going to be the inconsistent rans we saw this past season because like you said you know the level of play is there but like what is it that’s missing I think without knowing what’s going on with him behind closed doors it’s hard to say you know what exactly he’s gone through what led to the numbers and the inconsistencies we saw this last season would love to see that happen though because Andrew Wiggins we saw during the NBA Finals had the potential to be that number two score like he was number two I think throughout the series against Boston probably the second best player when you look at the entire series like 100% moments would love to see that Wiggins back will he be back though we don’t know um crazy we got to wrap this up man time flies when you’re having fun Uh The Golden State Warriors front office is reportedly looking to bring in some new pieces in the 2024 offseason, but some familiar faces could also be stepping into bigger roles. With Klay Thompson’s future with the organization uncertain as free agency approaches, who could start at the 2 spot next season? Brandin Podziemski started in that role for portions of the 2023-24 season, but many believe Moses Moody is ready for a starting role. Kylen Mills and Santa Cruz Warriors broadcaster and 95.7 The Game host Kevin Danna evaluate Moody vs Podziemski, and what their best roles might be with the team moving forward.

  1. the warriors have not made any moves its not looking good. in reality if they don't get another scorer, they are toast because those two aint it and even though klay is inconsistent we do know when he's on fire he's on fire.

  2. Cyrus Saatsaz has now moved over to The Golden Daze podcast. Give the channel a sub and watch for daily warriors content. 2 daily warriors podcast with great content, what's not to love.

  3. These numbers are averages from each players starts this past season and no one has to check it out but might as well have some kind of idea how they do when starting rather than only going off imperfect human memory and bias.

    Podz(28 starts): 30 min, 9.5 pts, 6.3 rbd, 4 ast, 1 stl, 43% fg, 34% 3fg% on 3.7 attempts

    Moody(9 starts): 25 minutes, 12.6 pts, 3.7 rbd, 1.4 ast, .8 stl, 52%fg, 40% 3fg% on 4.2 attempts

  4. Moody reminds me of a danny green/KCP type later in his career. Good defender and solid shooter. I was more of a fan of trey murphy over moses moody

  5. Locked on warriors it’s not Brandon nor mosses big issues in this team is no 22 Wiggs !!!!!! It don’t matter as long as Wiggins get that much of minutes to play last year and before warriors not going to play off period! For you guys keep making this warriors YouTube off season I respect that however it’s not Klay no 1 Wiggs got to go! If you as so call locked on warriors not seeing I baffled simple baffled really??? U guys are dreaming ….. Boston won cause they have multiple consistent 3pts shooters, consistent players!!!! Get some solid consistency players in golden state is the answer!!!!!!!! Mosses and P not an issue !!! Issue here is to bring young growing hungry consistent players and big rim protecter! BP and mosses solid as a second unit

  6. If a hof pg like cp3 can come off the bench as backup pg, there is no reason podz should not. Pairing steph with another undersized player who is bad defensively should be a crime

  7. With Clay the team didn't make the playoffs, so if one of the younger players don't emerge as a breakout double double player, just feel lucky to be in the play-in again.

  8. We need to move Wiggins to his natural position which is 2 guard. That would also allow kamanga to play his natural position which is the 3

  9. Hear me out as I think out of the box a bit. If Klay moves on (or even if he doesn’t), consider Wiggins at the 2. This gives you a starting five of Steph, JK at 3 Dray at 4 and TJD at 5. Podz back s up Steph and Moses backs up Wigs at the 2. You instantly get bigger and more athletic. Your bench is stronger and more flexible too. Everyone is ready to move on from Wigs but I think not so fast. Can you get the value for him? I don’t think so. Still need another big or two and who backs up Draymond? Any of the young guys? IDK. Thoughts?

  10. start moses he deserves it nd is the better backcourt option pairing for steph he js needs a lil belief frm his coach nd sum more confidence he will flourish
