SHOCKING Sixers Free Agency Update…

and we start this video with a little bad news and good news here the bad news the NBA season is over and the Boston Celtics have won a championship the good news the off season is now in full swing and here is where things heat up for the Sixers we know they’ve been attached to a number of rumors and these keep flowing in this video I’m going to break down the latest update on both ogan anobi and Paul George as the window may be open to the Sixers having a crack at either one of those guys as well as a new player has emerged in the conversation that we have to have a bit of a delicate conversation about so I’m going to start with with that that of course being miles Bridges here and I’m going to open with the initial report this saying that the Philadelphia 76ers are expected to show interest in Miles Bridges per HP basketball quote they’ve been linked to George for months with speculation only increasing after George appeared on ESPN’s pregame show with embiid so George and Butler are the two high-profile names the Sixers are also expected to have interest in Charlotte Hornets forward miles Bridges so note that that is in also not instead of Paul George this is something that again we have to have a bit of an a difficult conversation about now everyone’s going to have a bit of a different opinion on this guy there’s a lot of charges that have kind of been thrown around his name he’s had a checkered past and to acknowledge it head on here I’m just going to pull up this report from CNN saying that North Carolina prosecutors have dropped three charges against Charlotte Hornet’s player miles Bridges according to documents filed Bridges 25 was charged in 23 with violating a protection order misdemeanor child abuse and injury to personal property according to Lincoln County North Carolina Sheriff’s Office Bridges surrendered to authorities in October after warrant was issued for his arrest in Tuesday’s filing the state said it determined there was quote insufficient evidence to get a conviction at trial due to inconsistent statements made by the alleged victim so if you want to be absolutely glass half full here the best case scenario is that he got in a really toxic relationship and there was some really bad stuff that went down I think that’s painting things a little bit in brighter light than should be the case with this and to give my personal opinion I couldn’t root for milb just want no part of him on the Sixers that’s kind of what I’m at maybe I’m not forgiving enough maybe that I should be more open-minded for this type of thing I don’t need players to be perfect citizens but that is a little cross the line for my mind now as a basketball player you understand the appeal and to dive into what he produced this year 21 points per game 7.3 rebounds 3.3 assists shot 46.2% from the field 34.9% from three 37.2% of his shots r3s also shoots 34.1% from the corner just 26 years old 6 for S he’s no doubt a bargain contract as it pertains to his value based on what he’s going to get and to acknowledge what he was currently on at this point in time he’s coming off a $7.9 million contract this season and to dive into his full picture to talk about his stats here that he did miss all of the 2022 23 season because he sat out dealing with the legal issues here you can see these stats otherwise that leading up to that point in time he averaged 20.2 points per game seven rebounds 3.8 assists he was in line for a guy that was about to receive a Max contract and will be in the bag fumbling conversation for that if there were not these off court issues and concerns with him he would have a Max contract next to his name and the Hornets were ready to offer it to him in fact all this went down in the legal process during the offseason period so he if that it happened a couple days later we might be having this in an entirely different discussion here but there is a little bit of rumors there I will say I checked into this a little bit myself Paul hudrick of Liberty baller said that he does not believe the Sixers are going to show interest there’s a couple other guys who are very uh I guess speculative of it that they don’t believe that this is going to be the case I don’t tend to agree either I think Miles Bridges is going to be a name that’s floated out there I’m very curious the type of money that he gets but he does not strike me as the the piece of the puzzle that these Sixers are targeting here but I still think it fits into the conversation that the more names they’re attached to the better for the Sixers now two guys that I do think are far better options Than Miles Bridges Paul George and ogan anobi and there were some interesting comments on each of these guys and I want to start with Paul George who I think that’s where the Sixers should be starting this off season as that is plan a and there was an interesting quote by Brian Windhurst here that he was on ESPN’s get up and he said quote what is interesting to me is that the Clippers are very aware that somebody’s going to offer George a four-year Max contract whether that’s the 76ers or the magic or a team could even trade for him but there’s another thing with Paul George that I want to point out he has an option in his contract it’s known as the Chris Paul move where you come to a team and say I’m either going to sign with this team over here or you’re going to pick up my option and trade me there so even if you don’t have cap space a team for example like the New York Knicks okay if they wanted Paul George they could say okay you could come to us we’ll trade for you you don’t have to sign him outright Clippers know all of this is going to come uh is going to go on and yet they’re still not making this offer they’re still not going to do this and so if you get to July 1st and the Clippers haven’t done this they’re going to play hard ball that’s when they know that he’s truly going to be in the market I suspect the Clippers read at least on June 17th is that they’re calling his bluff don’t actually think he’s going to leave his hometown of LA to go to Philly or Orlando or something like that so a lot to break down here from this winhurst paragraph number one that is absolutely a valuable or a an option on the table that should be paid attention to if there is a location that Paul George wants to play he can manipulate things and find a way to get here we saw that James Harden did this with the Sixers obviously much different context for what the Vibes were the spirits between the team and the player there but we see saw the situation work out where he was dead sit and getting to Los Angeles and that was the route Paul George could take that if there was a team that he wants to play for I don’t believe that’s the situation I think for Paul George that it’s either you want to stay in La continuing the rest of your career there which is what the Clippers are clearly of the mindset of that I do think when Paul George first went to the Clippers that his plan was to play the entirety of his career here his parents sit Courtside during games he grew up out in La he’s got his nice media deal going on with the podcast and everything else it does seem like life is pretty good for Paul George and I can see him not wanting to change that however Money Talks here and that is is the reality of the situation if you want the most money it’s not going to come from Los Angeles and that is kind of the decision that Paul George has to make what is most important to me at this point in his career and by the way I will throw in the the point here that the Sixers are better positioned to win now than the Clippers are do you feel great about that gamble that Kawhi Leonard is just going to be healthier next playoffs do you think that’s a realistic Outlook year in and year out that they’re going to continue to run down that path I understand Kawai is so talented that you kind of just have to roll the dice with that but do you feel great about those odds and now on the other side of this if you want to look at this as a potential bad thing there’s also going to be significantly more pressure right here in Philadelphia than would be the case out in Los Angeles that Paul George he’s got his gig he knows who he is he knows what to do he knows kind of the expectations and who he has as a player it’s going to change a little bit on the East Coast here in Philly where Championship expectations will be on the table especially as Tyrese Maxi continues to ascend as Joelle emids here and when we’re seeing teams like the Boston Celtics find ways to get over the champion CH hump in their own right now A Team also in the Eastern Conference that has some issues on their hand is the New York Knicks so we saw the Knicks make their all-in push when they traded for oan and Obi this year and in my mind I thought it was a foregone conclusion that he would get his max offer from the Knicks sign that I don’t think you would make that type of trade if you didn’t believe that you were absolutely resigning that guy but it does seem like there’s a little potential for him to become available and to dive into this specific report here says that ogn anobi is not quote thrilled with the Nick’s current offer and will at least test the free agent Market this coming from Brian Windhurst as well said quote let’s keep an eye on that most people believe anobi will stay with New York but there have been indications he may want to test the market because he’s not thrilled with what the Knicks are offering I am very surprised by this that again I do think he was a perfect fit for that Knicks team I think in many ways he was the missing player and I also think he falls in the category of a player that’s much more valuable to the Knicks than would be on any other team and yes he is a seamless plug-and-play typee of three and D guy he’ll be fine on every every team but he does fit what the Knicks are building the identity that they have and to dive into the stats as far as what specifically OG brings 14.7 points per game 4.2 rebounds 2.1 assists 1.4 steals per game shot 48.9% from the field 38.2% from three 46.3% of his shots are threes and he also shoots 45.7% at the corner just 26 years old 6’7 OG is still on the come up that he’s improving as a basketball player and I do believe that the Knicks are the place where that is going to happen but if you do the guy it’s going to be interesting and there are some real notable agency ties as far as I believe his agent is the son of Leon Rose the Knicks owner so there’s a lot going on behind the scenes I would be shocked if OG actually makes his way to the open market but these Sixers are absolutely a team that are going to push that and have showed their intentions to that even if it is just for the sake of making the Knicks pay more I do expect these Sixers to bring a notable offer to the table now again I have mentioned it in here Paul George is my number one option and a lot of that is because you can just outright sign up and I get there’s a chance that players like LeBron James or ogn anobi could potentially find themselves as true free agents as well but Paul George is the number one guy where these Sixers can just hand him an offer he signs it and he plays for the Sixers for the rest of his career that is the ideal world you don’t have to sacrifice any draft picks and I think we’re also underselling how impactful this guy can be as a basketball player that just last year Paul George averaged 22.6 points per game 5.2 rebounds 3.5 assists shot 47.1% from the field 41.3% from three on 7.9 three-point attempts per game I get he’s 34 I get he has some injury concerns but he still shoots 45.7% on Corner threes 47.6% of his shots are uh are three-pointers there he’s the Perfect Blend from a basketball perspective to link Tyrese Maxi and Joel em there he is the exact Arch type of player this team has missed of for so many years and I know I brought up Boston you got to think ahead here that how are you going to beat this Boston Celtics team Paul George is the best option to Jason tatore Jaylen Brown compared to just about everything else they can throw against the wall do you feel great about Nico Batum and Kelly UB being your primary options think the Anthony Melton can just grow overnight and be big enough to guard these guys Paul George is the archetype of dude that can and by the way when there’s a little less on his load offensively because of guys like Tyrese Maxi and joelan beid there’s a chance that we see a little bit of a defensive Resurgence that there was a point in time where Paul George was talked about as an all-nba level Defender that was of course when he was younger in his career a little more athletic than is currently the the case but I still believe the tools are there so Paul George is absolutely my guy for the Sixers team we will see what happens with the rest of these names as I mentioned I can’t get behind the miles Bridges train and I do think if you’re going to try and trade for a Bridges you should be singing to Mel Bridges name into the microphone and seeing what happens if that is the case because that would be a guy that is worth overpaying for but that’s a different conversation there but let
