Sixers Rumors ESCALATING… BIG Moves Incoming? | Sixers News

and what is going on guys and welcome back to another live stream here on Sixers digest appreciate you guys for being patient with us tonight appreciate with you guys for hanging with us and we have some real stuff to talk about as the NBA offseason is finally off to the races with me to break it all down my guy Cliff Jackson how we doing what’s going on man a lot of news today finally some real stuff to talk about doing good though how you yeah absolutely I’m excited that it feels like things are taking place you know that was like the the start today is we’re starting to get an actual trade with Kusa we got the draft on the horizon we will be doing a little live stream breaking down some prospects and everything else from the draft next week as well but I do want to talk about the number one topics of today so let’s start right out here with uh this report that started things out from sham shiria saying that the Philadelphia 76ers interest in pursuing Paul George has significantly waned in recent days and the franchise is expected to be aggressive elsewhere with its salary cap flexibility and draft Capital leading into next week’s ba draft Cliff when you saw that report what was your initial reaction I’m not going to lie I completely thought it was a smoke screen um weird like why are we the only team being named I know we’ve been like the most linked to him but why are we the only team being named in a report like that and like it it was just really random that I so like my first tweet was like Daryl you’re not you’re not tricking anybody because I really just feel like it was a smoke screen to get people off of the because I because I even tweeted when the Paul George and MB stuff happened onl on on air I was like oh we about to get hit H with the most insane tamper find ever but like that I just feel like it was like a smoke screen to like throw this in off um it was just it was a really weird time tweet yeah so that’s what made me think like it was a smoke screen I still do believe that to a certain extent yeah it’s weird to me from a timing standpoint like you essentially pulled yourself out of the race before we even started here like free agency has not begun and I’m also of the mindset like I’ve tried to think about this in a million different angles I think there’s an aspect here where signs are trending towards Paul George just Rec signing it with the Clippers which I think is the most likely outcome all along and maybe Daryl m is doing the you can’t you can’t fire me I quit type thing where he’s plown out before that’s the case but even if that is the case I still see value in like being a team being mentioned with one of the Premier free agents like even if the Sixers are being used as a leverage Point here I think that’s not a bad thing for the Sixers like number one you’re just hiking up the price point for another team which obviously you want other teams to spend more money and then like from your end you still be mentioned with like mik go to the Sixers a premier free agent I still feel like that comes off good as an organization so to me it feels weird like just I don’t understand remotely the reason for pulling itself out and then we’ll have a little deeper discussion on like the actual Paul George fit as well as a couple other guys here but what do you think like the motivation behind just releasing this because I do think this clearly came from the Sixers end yeah so like like you said um it it was like a a really weird time tweet like I said it was like I felt like it was smoke screen but then I looked at it from you know other people say all right well maybe Daryl Mor has something else cooked up and they pulled out because they have like another Assurance somewhere else where I don’t like specifically believe that I think it is more trending towards him just resigning with the Clippers and he probably let them know that he was using the six for leverage I can see it to where they’re like where my is like okay well we have insurances over here um people are talking about maybe LeBron has been like all right well I’m coming to the Sixers now because I also looked at it as all right well why released this on the same day that they announced that JJ is the head coach and I know that they we know that they’re buddies like braon and JJ but maybe this isn’t what Braun wanted and and then I even there was even a report saying like this was heavily ad was heavily involved in uh in hiring JJ so like may I don’t like I don’t I’m just trying to make some type of it was very it was like so weird it was a weirdly time tweet I don’t understand it yeah the the report said LeBron had no involvement in JJ reck’s hiring just cracked me up like you’re telling me the dude that essentially interviewed for this job by doing a podcast with this man for the past year he had no clue that this was going to happen like come on now so I but to me like that was another guy that essentially got taken off the market today was LeBron in my eye like JJ being hired officially as the head coach kind of cemented LeBron staying with the Lakers which obviously LeBron stuff’s a new angle in this but again like clutch and Rich Paul are constantly putting out like separating this this Theory or this belief that LeBron is dead set on playing with his son to kind of poke calls on that so I I personally don’t even think LeBron’s on the table at this point you um I mean the only reason I did CU like you said when when the JJ stuff came out ear I was like yeah he’s he’s done but then this tweet came out about the Paul George stuff so like it just I’m just trying to think of why this tweet like the Tweet came out at this point so like maybe he on the table like to me like yeah he’s gone like he’s staying with the Lakers like there’ be no reason for him to even do that unless Brown was staying um but now I’m like all right well why tweet that today I don’t know I I really don’t Sean I don’t know I’m just trying to make sense of the tweet I feel you but I I’ll make you feel a little bit better for a second so I know these Sixers are far from a model for how to run a successful NBA organization but if you need to look in a direction that is worse thankfully we do have the Chicago Bulls and we did see today that Alex Caruso officially traded in a one for one swap for Josh giddy now this coming just a couple months after the Bulls rejected it offers of multiple first round picks for Caruso I can’t believe that this happened I see no clue what the Bulls are really doing and personally I’m more heartbroken about this from the Sixers angle than Paul George that I wanted Caruso more more than just about anybody this off season as just an ideal role player type guy so what were your thoughts on this deal uh both from just kind of the NBA perspective and the Sixers yeah um the Bulls are just doing stuff to do it yeah at this point that’s where I’m at with they just like I don’t understand why they made this trade I don’t know what JS giddy bringings them I don’t know what direction they’re going in I don’t know why they couldn’t get just some picks for at least but like a one for one swap with Josh giddy who is clearly on the down tread of like he looks like he’s lost all confidence probably because the rumors that came out and everything but it’s like I don’t understand the point of anything that the Bulls do so I don’t know if they’re blowing it up I don’t know if they’re trying to stay middle of the pack I don’t know what’s going on but like I I wanted Caruso because I thought you can get him in a LaVine deal I’m like all right if you can get Caruso along with LaVine you absolutely do that and now it’s like all right where do we pivot to so I don’t know everything’s weird everything’s weird right now yeah very much so and uh for your comment on I don’t know what direction the Bulls are going uh don’t feel bad about that because neither do they because they have no idea either there um but I’m with you on the Caruso side of things that that was really my interest in this Zack cavine now we’ve got conflicting reports from the Bulls angle uh Casey Johnson was the reporter uh reporting that the Sixers are in talks for Zack line now we got Kyle newbeck here in Philadelphia saying that he’s hearing these Sixers are not interested and Zack LaVine I know that’s kind of your guy Cliff that you are very much a Zack LaVine guy right yeah absolutely all right so give me the sales pitch so I I always approach this of the mindset of if we’re talking a Caruso and LaVine deal my ears are perked I don’t know if I’m in a Zack LaVine as the guy for this offseason but try and convince me so we have to remember zag my my interest in Zine is purely from my I just like watching him play basketball it has nothing to do with anything else and I’ve I’ve always been his Z Bean guy because it has his ticism the way he runs the floor but he’s a shot Creator something that the Stiers had simply never had somebody you just go give the ball to him just so say go score and then when I look at his stats compared to the other three guys that the Sixers are linked to Paul George Jimmy Butler Brandon Ingram they all pretty much have the same exact identical stats from last season they they’ve all averaged 20 to 21 they’re all averaging like five rebounds or like I think Zack’s averaging three but they were all averaging like five assists or something like that but they’re like it’s really similar no matter what it’s it’s just they’re they’re just going to have to decide on what type of player they want they they pretty much all do the same thing like Zach’s not terrible on defense he could be average to good like there you don’t you think he’s terrible on defense I I wouldn’t say Terri so I I’ll put it this way I think he’s like a number one candidate for me for needs a change of scenery I think that the there’s definitely a version of Zack LaVine that is far better than what we’ve recently been seeing with the Chicago Bulls I I think like it’s very notable to me that the team got better after he got shut down last year that we saw the Resurgence of Kobe White playing a very similar role to what Zack LaVine was asked to do and LaVine just had a straight up Deb bet down year so what we’ve seen I would consider a terrible Defender but I’ve seen versions of him in the past where he wasn’t so I I can get behind you there I don’t feel great about a LaVine and Maxi back cour being capable of holding up with the Boston Celtics or whoever it is in the Celtics I’ll say that though but that that’s a whole other conversation CU you got to like no matter what I just don’t think they’re they’re going to be able to get be able to construct the team that’s able to beat the Boston Celtics next by next season yes and that’s that’s my that’s where I’m coming from so but I I’ve said this a lot like I don’t if if they do construct you have to build a an entirely new team like they’re just not going to be able to contend off the off the bat for a championship I think their best shot at winning a championship will be in two years and that’s just you have the continuity then you see what the roster is like like it’s going to be really hard to build an entirely new team and then say all right you guys go win an NBA championship it’s just going to be hard yeah and it is tough to swallow that that is the reality like I think to be honest one of my biggest takeaways from this postseason as a a whole is teams should find their blueprint and stick to it that this Boston Celtics team that just won a championship there were the questions of do you got to break break up Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown are these guys too similar you look at the Minnesota Timberwolves it looked awful when they first trade fruy go brother it was not working the Dallas Mavericks didn’t even make the playoffs last year still resigned Kyrie Irving and said we believe this can work for the Sixers they’ve thrown a ton of different things at the wall and never really stuck with it dating back to really the Ben Simmons era and that was the era like the goal was to stick with when back when Simmons actually cared about playing basketball a little bit and that there was actually him playing like a real deal Allstar but that is the window that they need to open here is have a 3 to five years where you’re at least in the mix now granted who knows what version of Joel embiid is at the tail end of that but where I’m optimistic on is Max is continuing to ascend I think we’re all in agreement on that if you can bring in a third guy who can carry some of that weight that it doesn’t have to be Joel scoring 70 points or leading the league in scoring in an every night basis so I’m with you that they do need to kind of build this window here but it has to be this off season and I’m getting concerned that like the options might just not be there yeah yeah that’s that’s where I’ve been at for a really long time especially if you I don’t know if you look the free agent class next season is like way better it’s way better than this se but you can’t do it so I looked at it I’m like yeah it’s it’s over so if that’s the case though the wrong time to do this yeah so like if that’s the case though like realistically if you’re Joel embiid you think you you’re cool if Daryl Mor calls you into his office and says look we’re doing the same exact thing we’re throwing oneyear deals to everybody we’re signing a bunch of veterans minimum I’m overpaying for kavus cwell Pope and whatever else that are these role players and then we’re getting the big fish next off season if you’re Joel embiid what response to that all right so it’s tough because like I I I figured that was a hard sell this season right but when Joel played they were the best starting five in basketball when Joel played but now you have to construct an entirely new team Roundup because you’re probably going to lose Melton you’re probably going to lose uh most of those key key like role players you’re only going to be able to bring back what UB and Batum then you’re gonna have to figure out new guys you’re going to have to figure out an identity like what is what are the Philadelphia 76ers are are they a beat you up inside the paint team or they a perimeter team like how what who are how do the Sixers beat you they have to figure that out so it’s going to be really tough to sell that again but I mean like I said once you when you have Jo lmb and like the level that he plays at now with Tyrese Maxi continuing to ascend maybe you can sell it because you were already a really good team this season with the roster that was constructed now you just you’re going in you get more role players maybe it’s a lot of oneyear Deals twoyear Deals and then you go in the next fre agency and you’re like all right but this you have to be able to land a big a big fish we know Philadelphia is not well far as basketball they’re not a city that you’re that has attracts big free agents so that’s it’s a risk so I feel like this you just have to do it this season yeah absolutely and I have seen a lot of push back in the comments for my love for Paul George so I do want to clear the air a little bit on this here why let me start with the biggest selling points for me for Paul George number one is just straight up being able to sign the guy that the fact that they could bring in a legitimate many time Allstar without giving up any sort of assets no draft picks was the biggest point to me from a basketball perspective I also absolutely get it that no Paul George is not perfect but I do have breaking news here that there is not a single perfect basketball player that does exist even the LeBron James and Michael Jordans and Kobe Bryant in the world people still critiqued areas of their game and Paul George is no different and he should not be mentioned close to the same breath as those guys there but what I do like about him is he is this this link between Jo well and beat en Tyre East Maxi that I just straight up think the Sixers team needs and kind of to jump into a little bit of his stats here like this season averaged 22.6 points per game 5.2 rebounds 3.5 assists shot 41.3% from three on 7.9 three-point attempts per game that combination of efficiency and volume was the selling point for me and I get like it’s tough like the Sixers obviously have to look at this within themselves to build up this team but I can’t help having a Wandering eye and think about the path through the playoffs and what we’re talking about the Jason tatums and Jaylen Browns the world you need a Paul George like player so that’s kind of my selling point there if all things like given the circumstances and what it takes Paul George was for sure my plan a of the off season I don’t think you necessarily feel that way is that true Cliff or would Paul George still have been your your plan A before today yeah the thing the thing with Paul George is I think everybody realizes he is the perfect fit next to Joel and next to tyres I think the only problem was the age giving him a Max contract I think that’s all people were were concerned about everybody but everybody else knows that he’s the perfect fit next to them and if he decides he wants to take games off it’s okay his games off are like 15 it’s not zero like Tobias gave you so it’s like it’s like it’s like I think everybody understood it’s okay it was just the money and his age and that’s why people were turned off by him um he wasn’t was he my plan a no I think my plan a was LeBron but fair I think we we talked I think I had another plan a but yeah I think Paul J he was he was plan a to c nothing he was he was always top three three he was never anything below that so I like I was cool with I was cool with Paul George I just I what I what I want the six to do I just want them to do something and commit to it and stop doing this we’re half in We’re Half out we don’t know we’re we’re going to be good enough to compete but we’re not really going to go all in to win the championship like just stick to something commit to it and go all in because this probably the last shot you’re going to have in the Joel and B area yeah era I’m absolutely with you there and I do have a couple other names I want to throw off throw off you but I do want to start digging a little deeper on the Zack LaVine conversation so the biggest like concern to me with LaVine it’s the move if you do it that when you look at the money that he’s due for 43 million this year 46 million next year and then a player option for 48.9 million in 26 for 27 and if I had to take a guess I’d say he’s probably picking that one up so if you’re kind of guaranteeing three years over 125 million for this guy are you feeling great about that being your move cuz then we’re talking in kind of in the same position like I think a lot of people get caught up on with Paul George yes it’s more money but to me you got to essentially view like LaVine and Paul George the same for that because it’s the same kind of restrictions from a a salary cap perspective that a max deal is a max deal even if that number value turns out a little different it’s more about the percentages in that regard and that has to do with the all stars and all NBAs and all that for how much the actual value is but my point being in this that like I’m viewing that from a money perspective basically the exact same with Paul George and Zack LaVine and I don’t know if I necessarily feel that way about their talent yeah I mean Paul George is he’s better um he like he can defend the bigger wings like that’s I think like I said we all would prefer Paul George if he was three years younger I even two years younger I think we all just prefer Paul George over everybody in this free agency pool but like I don’t know there I don’t like I said their stats are pretty similar like Paul George gets the edge because he can defend the bigger wings um he’s probably a better ball handler uh and play initiator and playmaker and I you like you got to give it to him but I’m just I’m I’m I’m going off the report of the Sixers are out on Paul George so that’s what I was going off of like today so that’s why I’m like all right well Zack LaVine is a nice pivot like I’m not I’m not worried about that I’m not worried about the money like if you look at it do they does do if you win a championship who cares so but if that if you think Zack LaVine can you can add Zack LaVine to tyes Ma and Joel and be you had like Kelly UB Nick Batum does that win you an NBA championship you just have to look at it like that and and not the the little other things where Sixers fans are customed to because we’ve just been through so much so that’s where I’m at all right well I’m getting a couple a little bit of comments about Brandon Ingram that we’re we’re getting chiming in I do want to get your thoughts on Brandon Ingram cliff and I see the reaction already I do want to pull up his stats here that this year he averaged 20.8 points per game 5.7 assists 5.1 rebounds 35.5% from three as well as 35.5% from the corner he is 26 so he does have that going going for him from the window standpoint I’ve called him tattooed Tobias Harris I don’t fully mean that he is better than Tobias but we’re setting the bar on the floor here that I want a guy that I believe can flourish can step into his Prime and I don’t know if that’s what we’re getting with Brandon Ingram and what particularly frustrates me is we’re going to get the exact same pump fake out of three-pointers and work his way into contested two so I’m not quite in on the Brandon Ingram experience even though is there is some more financial flexibility but what are your thoughts cliff hey I’m same with you like he’s he’s a little bit better playmaker than to I mean he’s he’s all around better than Tobias I have to stop acting like he is the exact same player he just plays the same way like he’s gonna hit more shots he’s gonna be able to be a better playmaker he’s gonna be able to play a little bit better defense because of his length and because of his size but like I just don’t want to go through the same pissed off because he has an open three pump fakes it into a contested jumper what are we doing here yeah cuz I was even there was even a clip that I got from from the the the playoff series where he does that exact he has a wide open three he pump fakes it and dribbles into a contested jum jumper and like I like I said on the live show before he just makes the game of basketball too hard on himself I just don’t want to watch that and then I’m just I’m out Brandon angram yeah I mostly feel the same way uh it does seem like there’s some conversations between New Orleans and Philadelphia and frankly like I’m still of the mindset you should have those conversation with just about everyone I’m also seeing a Demar de rozan CH a couple comments about Demar de rozan I don’t think we’ve talked about him at all yet I love Demar as a basketball player I don’t necessarily love him as a Sixers fit he’s another mid-range heavy guy he is a killer like he has that mindset he’ll take the big shots in a way that I do think the Sixers team could use that but if he was just a little more willing off a catch and shooter and a guy that was a little bit younger I could talk myself into it way easier so he does have it going that he’s a free agent but what’s your opinion on demard Rosen Cliffe yeah same thing with you if he was a little bit younger um and he was like he was just better catch catch catching shooting threes like I’d be fine with him but like at this point I’m just looking we need players that are able to shoot threes at a high clip and that could just shoot quick catch and shoot threes and break down the defense just just helping TI I’m just looking for a player that can you can just give them the ball and just have them go ISO or like work seamlessly within the offense and dear’s like very ISO heavy I don’t know I’m just I’m not Demar to ro like I love like like I said I love Demar as basketball player just not on the Sixers that’s where I’m at yeah I’m with you on that uh all right I want to run through a situation for you a little scenario I have in my head so Paul George we know that he is doing whatever he’s doing hiking up his value talking his talk with the Clippers going to bat holding a high line and he wants that Max contract let’s say he goes to the Clippers and say look you got to get me to a location that I like or I’m walking for free I’ll opt into my player option but you have to trade me and that destination is the New York Knicks Paul George Goes to the Knicks and these Sixers give ogm an anobi all that money Cliff what’s your reaction I don’t like OG okay okay I I don’t I don’t like OG I just what I saw from him in these playoffs it was like yes he hit his open threes but like I saw him try to dribble the ball sometimes he was losing it it looked very bad like it looked like he was stumbling or have you ever see the Stanley the Stanley GIF of the office where he the way he’s that’s how I like OG was dribbling the ball half the time like he plays I I I thought he was like he’s really switchable but I thought he played like better defense than what I like what I saw like Maxi had a couple 30 balls on him and I’m like all right like if there was any reason for me to Max him I would want to see it now and like there was no game where I was like oh my God OG is killing us and there there was no game where I thought that like so I I definitely don’t want like he’s going to be more of the we give him Max money he’s GNA turn out like Tobias yes than Brandon Ingram and that’s that’s where I’m like absolutely not yes I I’m yeah I’m out on that I absolutely agree there and rip through his stats this season 14 .7 points per game 4.2 rebounds 2.1 assists he did shoot 38.2% from three and 45.7% of from the corner but 96.1 of his uh three-pointers being assisted he’s a guy that can’t create shots for himself really at all I also Cliff if I asked you right now OG anobi has been in the NBA for Seven Seasons how many of those did he play more than 50 games four three three three so you’re in the ballpark there but that is not good for a dude that is 26 years old like when we talk about being injury-prone for all the Paul George complaints or Joel embiid complaints like OG an anobi even this year like he had the elbow issue there was talks of like the surgery like this was he missed time in the playoffs he was tried to play in game seven which I gave him credit for but he couldn’t even move out there because of the hamstring like if we’re going to call a spade a spade OG anobi is an injury-prone basketball player and that’s not going to change when you give him more money and he very much to me would be characterized as kind of one of these guys that is always in the mix like he’s never going to hurt you for having him on the floor but I think it’s pretty likely like he goes the length of his career and never makes an All-Star Game do you think that’s fair yeah yeah yeah absolutely I don’t think he even thinks he has like All-Star Game in him um he’s like he’s a really he’s a good complimentary piece but not not for a Max yeah just don’t give him that you could don’t give a player that you don’t give a 14 point per game player a Max absolutely not yeah yeah I’m with you there and uh shout out to Maiden lless in the in the comment section saying this quote I just want to play the right style of basketball from Paul George did you take anything from that quote did that have anything to do with our guy James Harden there Cliff uh oh we might have a frozen Cliff real quick is that the uh is that the same quote where he said he didn’t want to do the Dirty Work in the same kind of reference oh you oh was that the same quote where he said uh he didn’t want to do the Dirty Work yeah yeah in the same kind of section there so any takeaways there um yeah no like we’re desperate so I like I’m need I just I just need I need him like like if we can go get somebody else I’m fine with it but like at this point whatever I don’t care Paul Jor you want you either G to come here or not bro if you come here I’m going to act like you were the best basketball player ever that Jolan be has ever played next to and if you don’t you suck your injury prone that’s where I’m at with it so like whatever yeah we’re just we are desperate for sure all right I got a couple other scenarios I want to run by with by actually before I do this I’m seeing some Lorry marketing comments jump in here I love Lori marinin that would be my 1A where I kind of hesitate to get excited about that is number one if Lori marinin hits the open market I expect that to be the guy that Oklahoma City Thunder EMP empty their cabinet of draft picks for I think even if the Sixers threw all five tradeable first OKC would be like well we’re still topping that there do you have any room for optimism that Lor marke in might want to might end up on in a Sixers uniform or do you think that’s a pure pipe dream I have like delusional optimism yes sure but like other than that on you every every time somebody brings up okay see I just shake my head was like how did we let this happen so like I just like they’re able to outbid anybody they want and especially Lori Markin they’ll be a super team in my eyes but yeah yeah know I have like a little bit delusional optimism that’s it I’m with you there I do have a guy that I also think is somewhat delusional optimism but I think slightly more realistic than Lori marinin and that is our very own male Bridges here what if darl myay called off the dogs and to particularly read the verbiage of this tweet once again that sham shiria says the Sixers interest in pursuing Paul George has significantly waned in recent days and the franchise is expected to be aggressive elsewhere with its salary cap flexibility and draft Capital leading into next week’s NBA draft I do think that ending point is note worth is worth noting there and I did see a little birdie uh talk about that there could be a male brid a Mel Bridges move if it’s going to happen it’s going to be on draft day that is where the Sixers do have all five first round picks their 16th overall pick they cannot trade until on draft day so could be something in well and you can trade all five first round picks for Mel Bridges any hesitancy from you cliff and you you can you hear me yep you cut out for a second I got you mhm you hear me yep so five first round picks from M you in yeah yeah all right you were frozen but yeah you yeah you convinced me last week I’m all for it the contract’s friendly um it’s probably the best player you’re gonna be able like in those in those five picks that you’re GNA have uping are you going to be able to get a Mel bridge player probably not especially on a team friendly deal and someone that you compare while Joel embiid is still in his prime with tyres Maxi and if you do say all right well in two years we’re not going to get it done we had to get we got to get rid of Joel or some something then tyres and and Mel still have room to grow with each other you can build around that that court right there get some picks back with Joel like it’s there’s a lot of upside to to getting Mel and I’m cool with that if you’re just trading the five the five picks um and you also can just build around the team that way and then Mel has shown his best version of himself is as a like a highlevel role player those years with the Suns and when they went to the finals those are the best the the best probably the best version of Mel Bridges that you’re going to get like he’s not a number one he’s probably like a fringe number two but he’s he’s a great number three and that’s what you that’s exactly something that we need so five first one place go ahead take him and I would do it in a heartbeat yep I’m absolutely with you and and to just to add to that like he has the mentality that you’re absolutely looking for that he’s a team first guy that he can be the number one option which we’re seeing him in Brooklyn he can be the number three option which we saw from him in Phoenix for points we saw his role change a great deal when he was at Villanova and he truly is a guy that like just has that mindset that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win and on top of that you bring in the finances here we’re talking about him making 23.3 million this year and 24.9 million next year that’s like 23 million that you just can have in salary cap space and then we’re talking about the cavius cwell popes of the world or these other free agents that could improve this Sixers team so I do think Mel would absolutely be the answer it’s all about if the Nets who unfortunately were recently laped by the Chicago Bulls for worst front office but it’s about the Nets actually having a desire to blow it up which I think is the direction and the other looming factor that I’ll just plant the seed in people’s heads here is the Rockets have the Nets first round picks so it wouldn’t shock me if there’s trying to send him to Houston for those picks back type deal in place I could see that happening for sure yeah absolutely um I’m I’m I’m all on like it’s a lot of upside to Adam Mel like just imagine a Joel and beid I mean a tyres Maxi Joel and beid Mel Bridges kcp Batum line like that that’s a on paper that’s that’s an amazing lineup you can go there you can defend Boston you can you can run with Boston you can play with Boston physically you probably have the advantage absolutely have the advantage inside well like it’s just a ton of upside there um that I’m I’m all yeah I’m with you there um and I do you froze again or I freeze you’re Frozen on my end but we’re going to work through it for one more name before we start wrapping things up real quick I want to throw this guy that I don’t think I brought up to you last week from the Atlanta Hawks did Deonte M let me pop over to this side of things here I’ll give you the Deonte Murray cell a little bit to everybody before we get Cliff back in Action here and there we go we got him back in frame all right am I back you we got you back all right cool so I don’t know I don’t know what happened you’re good de jonte Murray did I sell you or you in or out uh yeah no i’ I’ve I’ve been in I’ve been yeah you did sell me but like I’ve always been in on jontay muray like I think they should have traded the two picks for him at the deadline I think that’s what he was worth um I think they should have traded the two picks for him at dead line like I said another off ball guard that has wor with Trey young he’ll be able to work with tyres Maxi now you give him Joel andb he could defend bigger Wings he can defend smaller guards like Deontay Murray is another perfect piece that you could just slide in to the Philadelphia 76 Ross and a lot of people last season were saying like he wouldn’t help and I’m like what are y’all talking about if you have de jonay Murray in that Nick series they easily move on to the second round they probably beat the the Pacers and then we’re playing the ball of Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals and that’s all dependent on Jo’s Health obviously but like if you if you just do that and you’re probably not trading any players so you probably you probably still have UB Batum the the team we already had and you’re just adding to jonte Murray so I’m I was all for it I think they should still look into it you know the Hawks are looking into trading I think they said they’re looking to trade one of them so I don’t know which one they’re which one they’re going to trade but it’s most likely going to be Trey young but I would still looking to Deonte Murray if anything honestly I and I think to be honest Deonte hates playing with with Trey young and I get it like I that was that was I it didn’t make sense to me when they first made that deal and the more that I’ve seen them in action it makes even less sense there was one moment that really stood out to me in the playin where I forget the play that even initially happened but it was kind of basically a Trey young dribbling off the shot clock taking a bad shot situation he said something to to dejon this is on the court as they’re going to a timeout and deante straight up stepped to him and then kind of composed himself got it together and walked away but I was like I remember watching that that was this year I was like yeah no chance that they run it back with these two again next year so I do expect that them to be broken up I think they have to um but that type of flexibility we’re talking about and Deonte can be a killer too man he had I believe there was three consecutive game winners he had for a period of time this year like he can get Buckets and like my sell and dejonte from a basketball perspective I think you take the best version of him in Atlanta and the best version of him at San Antonio that’s exactly the player that we’re looking for like he led the NBA in steals for a season did defend when he played for the spars so yeah I’m talking myself into dejonte if you had to rank him kind of in these same tier of conversations so would you put him above like a Brandon Ingram where does he compared to LaVine talk to me through it in your mind Cliff yeah like he’s what’s his contract like again uh 26 million that he’s due next year gets up to 31 and 2728 yeah like if I honestly want to rank him I’ll probably put so if I want to really rer rank everybody honestly I probably will put m first I probably might put Deon two and then put Zack three like I it’s just like they just they’re just seamless like Mel and John are just seamless fits with the Sixers and you still have a money spent over that you can just use on other players so I just I feel like those will be my top two then I’ll go to LaVine because LaVine is strictly from my amusement like has nothing else to do with anything that’s funny so wow well I have a uh a a new name that has now entered the mix from Brian wiard here Cliff who do you think a name that we have not talked about very little on this show so far and at all based on the off season any guesses to who I’m speaking about right here we’ve talked about them little yes we we mentioned his name but not a guy we took seriously here DeAndre Hunter per Brian windhorse in his latest podcast it is uh it is not impossible for a James Harden return to Philadelphia cliff re absolutely not absolutely not so is he wait is he asking if he’s gonna if he’s gonna ask for the max hell no that would be insane and I feel like that just stunts Maxi’s group nope nope no yeah no I’m with you I I want no part of that although it’ be just about as hilarious as it gets for that specific thing that is in the description for wi her podcast that he just dropped tonight I haven’t actually listened to it how much legitimacy if this was something he was talking through but I I I’m sure kind of in his mind where he’s coming across with this is that it is maybe Paul George signs that contract I did reading between the lines for those Paul George comments kind of take from not that maybe he didn’t Vibe with playing James Harden ball so maybe the Clippers make the decision that it’s Paul George over James Harden James Harden hits the free agent market and the Sixers have to sign somebody is probably where wi horse landed on this and for James Harden like flashback to last off season season the conversation was basically Clipper is Sixers or there’s no other spot for you if this is how things play out where could you even see James Harden going obviously we’re saying not in Philadelphia but can you think of a team that would sign him yeah no no especially not for like especially not for a match or anything maybe like a right as as a I don’t even I don’t know I don’t know I think he’ll be he’ll be done I think yeah wor yeah I think he’ll be done I I think a team would sign him but it would take it would take James Harden being willing to have like it’s always interesting to me when you watch players who like there’s no doubt James Harden in his prime was a fantastic basketball player but we see players when they go from this Superstar Arc to reducing to it’s insulting to say he’s a role player but closer to that at this point in his career like the ego that comes with the paychecks that occur with that does not always just work and I don’t think Harden’s going to be a guy the same James Harden that we know with his outfits with his lifestyle that’s going to be exactly cool with that so I think that would be very interesting from there he’s still a very good basketball player although flawed so I think there somebody would find a spot for him but I can’t imagine what that would look like How likely do you think that is that the Clippers are sitting here right now think saying we need to make a decision between Paul George and James hard you think there’s a shot where that’s what’s going down I I hope not that’s that’ll be bad for them my whole thing with the Clippers is I’m like they have to keep all three the they have to they have to have some players play because you you don’t know how many games kaai is going to play you’re opening up an entirely new stadium like that’s why my head is like they’re going they have to keep all three of them because they have to put butts in seats to pay for this Stadium yeah so I’m like that’s where their mindset is so like and that’s why it was tough for me to believe like Paul George leave home with a new Arena come all the way to Philadelphia that’s where that’s where my mind initially was but like I don’t no there’s no way you you sit there and have a serious conversation say yeah James AR or Paul George like one is clearly still better than the other so I don’t yeah I I think like and I did ask around shout out to Dime dropper who’s an awesome Clippers content creator and there’s a couple other guys that I asked about I think you’d be surprised how split the jury is on whether Paul George or James Harden’s better and also I got split reactions when asking the question of who’s more of a losing player which didn’t make me feel great about the the Paul George sweep Stakes but my other part that I want to bring up to you here Cliff is I hear that all the time and I honestly obviously agree with it that they want to put butts in the seats for this new stadium out there as a Clippers fan are you sitting there Juiced up right now with this Trio running back are you feeling great about this is your team that James Harden Paul Jordan kawhai do you think like that’s getting the fan base excited no no what did they they lost in the first round right right to the Mavs which obviously the Mavs made a run but yeah but still like this this team is supposed to be like a world beaing team like on paper when you look at it they’re supposed to be a world beinging team you’re losing a first round to the Mavs and now you have to really re-evaluate like how good could this team possibly be like do you have to make certain changes or make a big splash and I think that’s prob it brings it back to your point earlier that could be a point where Paul George’s like all right I’ll give y’all I I’ll sign my my deal but you have to trade me I’m GNA make sure y’all get pieces back but you have to send me somewhere that I want to go and that’s where I guess both sides could work something out so yeah I don’t know yeah you’re right like I wouldn’t if I was a CLI I’d be like well what are we like what’s the point of any of this that’s kind of where I’m at because like like obviously kawhai is The X Factor here like there’s no doubt that kawhai is the centerpiece of that team and the best player when he’s healthy but that when he’s healthy is a big big kind of Ash trick next to that like we saw it this year that like when Kawai was healthy he was still very good he’s he’s the centerpiece of that team but do you feel great about like rolling the dice and making that gamble for the next I believe three years was the extension the next three years that there’s a better chance that he gets through a playoff run healthy and I honestly think like another realization from obviously we see it every year but like from this year’s playoff specifically do you think like not just kawhai but even like a Joel embiid can survive how long a playoff run is like I’m really skeptical that that’s going to be the case and that concerns me from both a Clippers and Sixers standpoint it’s a lot of basketball that’s played think about the finals just ended and how long ago the Sixers were eliminated yeah I I was actually going to say I was like I have more faith in Joelle surviving like the playoffs than kawhai because kawhai is like always hurting all of his injuries are like they just randomly happen and it keeps him out for like a month or two and it’s really weird um and bees are always like he usually just plays through them but like yeah you’re right it’s a lot of basketball it’s like I have to really rely on Joel to be available for all like one like if two series go you have two deep series you’re like is he gonna be able to survive yeah like the like these series I don’t I don’t know I mean but hey we always just got to get lucky one year Joel even said it when he was on he like I just need one year luck yeah absolutely I don’t know and I I know we talked a lot about the bigger picture thing so kind of a little behind the scenes here is our initial plan for this stream was to talk about like the smaller trade like potentially these Sixers trading the 16th pick for a guy who were some names that would make sense I did want to get caught up in kind of the news cycle but I also had a couple guys that I did want to throw your way Cliff if that’s cool with you so I did end up coming up with a a player on 30 or on 28 of the 30 team I’ll just list off my favorites that I want to get some take number one was Alex Caruso which we saw how that went today very unfortunate there there’s a couple other guys that I do think could be had my number two on my top uh top eight list here is tar een from the Houston Rockets I love tar een it was really surprising to me that he has not been like a consistent part of their core and to be honest Houston has some real decisions to make for who are they building around is this Jaylen Green’s team is this Alin shon’s team is this Jabari Smith’s team like who is the actual core I don’t think tar e fits in it it would not Shock me if they look to move on from him do you like tar e and would you be interested in that yeah I’m absolutely interested in t e 100% yeah I’m with you I think he’s a defensive monster I think that is the type of piece that they should be looking to jump on uh he’s still tar e 23 years old he’s got 3.69 million on the contract this year also a team option for 5.67 million next year that’s a guy that I loved when he was coming out of college I still love his game name I can’t believe I think he’s like the arch type of wing stopper the Sixers should be looking for soar E’s a name that I did want to throw your away swing to the next guy here another intriguing one and a guy who showed his worth in the playoffs and once again to phrase this these kind of targets are guys that I’m just looking for like a top eight or nine of a rotation guys that I believe can be playoff impact players and potentially grow into something more but the next guy that I want to bring up nille Alexander Walker from the Minnesota Timberwolves so proved his worth an impact in the play this year Alexander Walker for what it’s worth is a guy that uh has bounced around a little bit he’s 26 years old he’s on a $4.3 million deal for one uh one year they do need to dump a little bit of salary up there in Minnesota they got a lot on the books would nikil Alexander Walker be a guy that a PC Cliff yeah absolutely he was a knockdown shooter he was a good ball handler able to create well not create off off Ball but he was good off ball like it’s definitely somebody that I I would definitely be excited that the Sixers would get um it just it’s going it’s going to take a lot for them to build an entirely new team and I just keep thinking about that like one or two players isn’t going to be able to change what we just witnessed but yeah perfect I got uh four more I want to throw your way that I’m actually excited about here uh number four is Eric Gordon which it got a little bit more complicated with today he had a player option and there was a report that seems to be indicating that he’s tending toward opting out of it Eric Gordon’s been around forever he was a guy that was rumored and linked to the Sixers as of last year he is 36 years old so kind of at the opposite of most of these guys that I’m talking about but he still had some juice that he looked really good on that Suns team last year average over 11 points per game could still shoot and honestly showed more off the durble last year than I’d seen really during his entire time in Houston would you have any appeal for Eric Gordon coming to Philadelphia and being a part of the rotation yes I didn’t know he was 36 but he still like you say he looked good with the Suns shot cre ball handler somebody some gave you some juice Off the Bench so absolutely I’ll be all in on Eric I’ve been in on ER Gordon for a long time so yeah absolutely it’s somebody they should definitely look into all right love it yeah I would definitely be interested in that Quinton Grimes is an interesting guy number five on my list here kind of out there rotting in Detroit he’s been another guy that’s took a a bizarre career Arc that there was a point in time when he was still playing for the Knicks that I was really in on this guy as a promising upand cominging more of that guard Arc Type than Wing I would say uh he’s still just 23 years old he’s got one year left on his contract at 4.26 million I would be intrigued by kicking the tires and trying out Quinton Grimes I don’t think they have any clue what what they’re doing out there in Detroit right now but I don’t think he’s a key part of their future plans would you be interested in bringing Grimes to Philadelphia yeah absolutely when he was on the next show that he’ be a capable Defender he’s athletic he can run and like I’ve been saying this entire time that’s what the Sixers need they just need athletes that can run and jump and he can knock down a three so that’s all I’m you don’t like we’ve been you don’t have to be expensive with it you can find these type of players four cheap and be able to add them to a team with Joel embi and tyres Maxi because of the gravity that they’re going to create these players are going to look otherworldly look how Kelly UB looked yeah yeah so absolutely and guys keep dropping your comments for names I see a couple that I like that I’m going to circle back to I’m going to go M my last two into one they’re kind of of the same mindset that I think they’re a little bit more prayers that I don’t see their team getting giving up on them but they’re young guys that I do believe are growing into consistent rotation players number one Vince Williams Jr out there in Memphis he’s a guy that I think is going to be talked about as one of the Premier perimeter Defenders for a long time he’s just kind of finding his archetype this was really his breakout season I would expect Memphis likely to to bring him back next year and kind of grow a part of him but on the other hand there was like four or five guys ahead of him on the depth chart that were hurt last year starting with John marant and Marcus Smart there so there’s not going to be as much opportunity if they are going to move on from him I would absolutely be interested in that and the next guy that’s kind of in the same reference point here Keon Ellis with with the Kings made a terrific uh just really made his presence known in the the playoffs or the playin I think it even was this year he really popped to me he’s got a fun game and a fun kind of archetype for how he came to the NBA went to Alabama all that stuff either of those names intriguing to you yeah yeah I would like both of them like like I said athletes who can run jump and shoot give me all of them I’m completely fine with literally any of them and I’m cool with it yeah and we got a couple names I want to dive into here I appreciate all the comments yeah and Reggie driver hit the nail on the head with this comment saying this is how Boston found Derek white that’s kind of the what I’m looking for here and that’s where the Sixers do have to to dig in uh a little bit more of a polarizing one here Jonathan Isaac is a guy that I know has rubbed some people the wrong way for off court stuff from the pure basketball perspective I love Jonathan Isaac I think he’s a defensive monster I think you can make the case that when he’s healthy which I know is a notable Ash trick that you have to tie next to him because he is not only caught very frequently miss two full season two consecutive Seasons which is not what you want from a guy but he has been back and looked pretty good last year I thought I would love to pair Jonathan Isaac which Jo embiid is that athletic rebounding big man that you know can do a little more again I said he’s a defensive monster he’s switchable I love Jonathan Isaac I would love to take a swing on him and a pretty affordable contract as well your thoughts Cliff yeah I’m all in on Jonathan Isaac I actually have him on my team in uh in 2K yeah I’m all in on on Jonathan Isaac like you said defensive monster he looked there’s like multiple clips of him just shutting down uh his opposing the opposing player uh on the offensive side um and he’s like tall lanky can switch any pretty much anything one through five um off the court issues like like I said the same thing with Miles if we’re strictly talking about basketball then absolutely off the court issue that’s a whole another thing but again I don’t know these people in real life so if we’re strictly talking about building a basketball team yes Jonathan Isaac okay yeah and uh we did kind of I did drop a video on the miles Bridges rumors I did kind of land on the spot that like in general I’m of the mindset that I don’t need these guys to be you know great a human beings but miles Bridges is kind of an exception to me I don’t think I can do it I don’t want miles bridges any part of the Sixers what’s your thoughts there yeah like like I don’t care like I’m not like I’m not ignoring it but like if we’re straight like if we’re having conversations like these and we’re strictly talking about basketball he’s a very good basketball player sure as far as like morally and like the human being part like that’s something completely different that I like I don’t condone at all but I again I don’t know him so like I don’t like who am I to like who am I to say something about his personal life when I’m I’m trying to talk about basketball yeah so like it’s like it’s it’s like a weird conversation like it I guess it goes into the realm of we’re going to have to cheer for this guy which is like something that you have to think about but like as far as me we’re strictly talking basketball then yeah if if not then I I can I completely get where everybody else is coming from but that’s just that’s just me though yeah I mean it’s tough there like I I think however you feel about this is completely Fair everyone can have kind of a different opinion on that that type of thing it’s not the easiest conversation to have um I yeah I land on that I just couldn’t quite I I don’t want to have to root for Miles Bridges is kind of how I feel about the particular thing it is interesting to me like I have seen plenty of guys vouch for him like like Draymond Green’s a guy that I know who talks about how miles is a good kid still and that type of type of thing so it is interesting there’s obviously wide ranging of opinions on it um see that’s different they know him so I don’t but like you if you’re condoned that hey y’all do that over there y’all y’all know him I have nothing to do with that so I’m not gonna condone nothing that he has going on but if we’re strictly if we’re just talking about basketball then sure but I can completely get when somebody like so when I have the conversation people say yeah I can’t do it I understand yeah like I get it bro if you can’t do it then cool I get it I’m just saying like where I’m coming from with it and that’s that’s really it for sure and also think like like for me personally it rubbed me the wrong way the way Bridges kind of handled it on his return I didn’t think he felt he didn’t feel remorseful to me I get everyone feels has a second chance but the one quote that really stuck with me is kind of asking about his response was he’s just like we just got to start winning and people are going to forget about it and it’s like I just don’t love that particular Outlook there so I don’t know we’ll move on from the miles Bridges conversation a guy a little less controversial at least off the court Jeremy Grant uh is a name being thrown in the chat right now he’s very much I I call him theoretical basketball player sometimes I think Jeremy Grant’s a bit of a theoretical basketball player he’s certainly gotten far better from his first round with the Sixers and developed into a pretty good player would you welcome a a reunion with Jeremy Grant yeah absolutely but he has like a big contract doesn’t he he does let me get the exact figures here um and the other thing that I’ll note for Jeremy Grant which rubbed me the wrong way is he talked about wanting to play so like ball dominant or being like a number one or two option and that’s like well you’re not going to be on a winning basketball team if that’s the case so you need to embrace this role who he think he is who does he think he is exactly uh not awful on the contract 29.7 million this year 32 mil next year 34 mil and then a $36 million option in 2728 so you have a little bit of flexibility to do things outside of them like you could potentially do a Jeremy Grant and dejonte Murray which would be intriguing but I think Jeremy Grant falls in the category of I would need to talk to the dude and get inside his mental for what is his priority for his basketball career yeah after that quote that you just told me he just sounds like he’s just trying to get the money and then put up points and he’s he’s perfectly good with that and we already know like a lot of NBA players are like that they just want to play for the money they just want to get their points and then scr off into the sunset and be rich so yeah like you said you definitely got to talk to him be like all right what are you trying to do before we make any type of move for you like are you willing to take this this third this this third role I mean this third star role and just embrace it or do you really want to be this number one because if so you can stay over here in uh he’s still in Portland right you just stay over you can just stay over here in Portland and do whatever yeah but I mean if he if he if he’s willing to take a step back absolutely I’m all in on Jeremy Grant yeah yeah me is I I think I’m talking myself into it as well the honestly the contract was bigger in my head than I saw when I just looked it up there so yeah can potentially live with it but that certainly falls in the category of being a still a big time swing that it isn’t just a a move along the margins by any means so I guess on the bright side here that we do have some things happening in the NBA World um I guess any predictions from here do you think before draft day there will be any notable moves we need to dive in the lab and break down as it pertains to the Sixers or a whole lot more smoke screens until then I think he’s gonna like like you said they can’t really they can’t really do anything until draft night but I think draft night is when something big is gonna happen and then because like they’re they need time this offseason to like have a plan and build out exactly what they want to do like I said even with earlier last season I said if they were going to make a big trade I wanted them to do it early in the season so they have chemistry and time that’s why you know how to play with Joel you know how to play without Joel and that way you don’t make a trade at the deadline and everybody’s trying to figure everything out um in a short amount of time so if they’re going to make a trade do it now everybody can get acquainted with each other we can all go on our little Retreats and play basketball and and work out and do everything as a team and then you’re then you’re building out your plan of who you want to get in free agency with players you can with like small players you can trade for build the team around and then you have chemistry going into the training camp then you have after that chemistry now you have the chemistry going into the season I’m so I’m a big pride of doing everything early but that’s just me so I don’t I draft day I think something big is gonna happen because I don’t think they’re using that pick yeah yeah and I do want to dig a little deeper in that I’m very Pro keep the keep the pick I think we’re going to try and jump on and do a full stream talking about some draft guys beforehand maybe Monday or Tuesday we’ll talk about that once we wrap up here um but I am of the Mind inste of I would much prefer them to keep the pick and just add some young Talent that’s kind of where I’m at I get like that’s one of their trade assets but I just think like in general there’s just so many of these potential role players available right in that 16 range the Jared McCain’s the Tristan dilas the guys like that that I think can step in and play from day one so I’m Pro keep the pick but uh we’ll talk more about that there go ahead quick question so a lot of people are looking at like guards and wings right yep I’ve thought about it what if they Ed that 16th pick one a backup center yeah I mean Kalo we is probably the the name that makes the most sense in that I would hate the Zach Ed pick which I he was gonna get picked around there would I I mean I I yes I wouldn’t care like do something that weird do something it would be great for the content and um I’ll say like I am a Zack Ed believer in general I do think there’s a place in the NBA for the guy uh like he is a competitor way more than people give him credit he works hard and he’s got legit touch around the rim like the way some of his finishes were pretty impressive this year and you just can’t teach height he’s 7 foot4 and he’s not a zero as far as Mobility wise like for all those that are huge Donovan kingan guys and anti Zack Edy Edy out tested kingan and all the metrics at the combine as far as movement around the court the Sprints the hurdle drills all those type of things which was really intriguing to me I I would hate that I I’m much more of like backup center is absolutely an issue but I would just much prefer to throw five million at Andre Drummond versus use that 16th pick for that okay I I’m just I’m just thinking like they always said we’ve always every season there’s a struggle with oh my God we need to backup center we need to go trade for one the deadline or we don’t have one like what if they just be like all we’re just going to draft one and build him and like and groom him into a backup center and then like hopefully he’s going to give us like real minutes eventually that’s that’s that’s just what I’m what I was thinking yeah I don’t hate it there’s really three names that are kind of in the mix for that I’ll even go four here so three of them Zaki is the one Kalo we’s in that range I like kware I could kind of be talked in that and he’s got an interesting story that he basically went to Oregon for a year got written off as a prospect that he played really poorly there were questions about his motor his effort all that stuff really rebuilt his stock at Indiana this year and certainly is going to be a first round pick now which was the expectation that would be a one and done at Oregon so had to take a little bit of path there he shot over 40% from three this year on a limited sample size so that’s intriguing I would be willing to take a flyer on KH W potentially cuz he is a guy that I could see p playing next to Jo well in addition to being a backup five another guy that like has been talked and I know worked out for the Sixers uh the kid from Balor Eve Missy is the way you pronounce his name he’s a guy that is Clint capella 2.0 like he attempted one jump shot all year he just catches lobs he just dunks it he just block shots he’s pretty crazy athletic and explosive I get the appeal and he’s a guy that like will keep the game simple will’ll have a long NBA career because of it but to me like to take that at the 16th pick I feel would be a waste there which is a guy I’ll throw Philip pasy in the mix as well I don’t think he’s end up going to end up being like a big man I think he’s going to be more of like a power forward SL small forward he’s very skilled as a basketball player but he wasn’t a great rebounder he’s a little bit he’s close to 7 foot but he’s not physical I kind of doubt that he ends up a big man at the NBA level I want a dominant rebounder so to kind of roundabout answer your question Miss is a guy I see just as a backup center which I think would be a waste all these other guys clew is the only guy I’m a little bit open-minded on okay okay I just I just wanted to because I was just thinking I’m like well what if they just do that but because I was like I’m not really a fan of this draft class like yeah there’s a bunch of role players there but I’m I’m a big like DL connect Jer McCaine is probably be there um yeah those guys but I’m just I was just thinking like hey well what if they just do this and then that solves their backup center problem pretty early but just where I was thinking yeah definitely and we’ll dive a little bit deeper into that next week I’ll have some content coming out I am a Tristan D Silva uh fan that would be my number one pick as of now he’s just a guy guy that I see being like a fifth starter on a winning team for the entirety of his NBA career and I do hope it is Philadelphia here so we’ll dive deeper into that but happy to have the wheels of the NBA offseason in motion Cliff any other any other things you want to jump on anything else you got going on right now n n nothing nothing for me man um I’m I’m just excited that we finally are getting some news because the finals are boring so yeah and I’m so glad everybody forgot about the Celtics winning this fast so it is nice and uh to answer teacher got G would you take Don Holmes I would definitely consider Don Holmes I would feel way better about that he’s another guy that I think is probably cut from like the power forward SL small forward rather than power forward SL Center he’s a freak athlete he can he’s he’s got a pretty crazy dribble package for a big man like some of his spin moves and the way he puts on the floor I’m really intrigued by I’m a little bit skeptical the shooting I’ve called him like Nas Reed as a player comp but Nas Reed’s like an elite shooter I don’t think the Ron Holmes ever gets to that level uh but yeah that’s an option for me as well so um yeah Clif I appreciate you hanging that’s going to do it for us tonight once again I am excited that the NBA news cycle is in process we’re going to have 1. I don't want a Zack Lavine, Bridges or any Inefficient Offensive Guard in the backcourt with our Young Star in Maxey taking shots out of Maxey mouth. It never works because it's only one ball and someone have to be great on defense plus ready to knock down open 3s on not as many shots. Exact reason Curry & Klay when Klay play D worked and Young & Murray, Beal & Booker, Reeves & DLow, plus nowadays current Curry & Klay don't work.

This is why not getting Alex Caruso to pair in the backcourt with Maxey is so devastating because it would've allowed Maxey to totally focus on his Offensive Game as Alex Caruso a Big 3&D Guard take on all the Best Offensive Opposing Guard on D, do all of the dirty work in the backcourt and get out of Maxey way on offense ready to just knock down 3s.

Basically Alex Caruso was Thybulle with a 3.

  2. Also Harden is straight-up better than PG Unlucky 13 now plus his whole career and even Harden can say he's better than PG Unlucky 13 in the playoffs.

Harden going to win you at least 2 games in a playoff serie alone as we seen against the Celtics last season and against the Mavs this season.

PG Unlucky 13 is more likely to lose you games in the playoffs Choking.

  3. Sixers Please don't bring back all the old players, We need new faces on the team, I like Drummond Bridges Caruso Zach Carter Lauri OG and Donovan, We need a good point guard and forward and back up center 🔥💯

  4. Riddle me this. Why would Josh Harris hire Bob Myers a basketball executive as a consultant job for a football team? I believe it was done to keep him on the payroll and hire him some point and time as the next general manager.

  5. If the trade for Zach Levine, who is often injured, the front office should be drugged tested. Then we have Bradon Ingram at 20 points and only 5 rebounds and 5 assist a game really. Tobias Harris can get you six rebounds a game, lol. If the sixers sign Ingram, they are an incompetent front office, and I will tell you why it was rebounding that killed the sixers in the play-offs. Yet many sixers content creators, all they want to talk about is the three point shot. Plus you have to trade to get him.

Then we have Miles Bridge's 21,7,3 a game, he is a free agent. I think he is a better fit than both Levine and Ingram. The holy people don't want him on the team.

I even think Kyle Kuzma is a better fit then Ingram and Levine: 22,6,4 a game, and he has championship pedigree. He will make 23 million this season. You will have to trade for him, just like Brandon Ingram.

  6. Maxey is already a better version of LaVine, plus he can stay healthy. Seems a little reduntant to me.

  7. Don't sign Brandon Ingram and Zach Levine would ruin our salary cap and signing one of them to offering a supermax extension

  8. Looks Like Paul George is out, Lebron is out(due to Reddick being hired) and Lavine is out(due to Neubecks report and the fact that Caruso is gone)..

Not many options available on the wing… Morey did state at the end of year press conference that he will be targeting a guy on the wing. With that being said not many options available now.

    Miles Bridges(very likely)
    Brandon Ingram
    Kevin Durant
    Lauri Marrkanen(I doubt it happens)
OG Anunoby(going back to The Knicks)

I think it's going to come down to either Brandon Ingram or Miles Bridges.

And at that point I'd perfer Miles Bridges.

Or they can call the Hawks and offer 3 Firsts & few 2nds for Dejounte Murray & DeAndre Hunter.

  9. Mikal Bridges for 5 picks is steep but with his contract you do have a lot of cap to work with still… I might like that!!!!!!!! Try and throw in Paul Reed too!!! Swindle it at 4 picks if you can…

  10. Markkanen!!! Him and Embiid would be insane!! Trade Paul Reed For Seth Curry back…Resign all our guys.. Try and convince K love to to opt out grab him and Drummond… Trent Jr to the mid level.. Bring batum back and Obre… The team still has cap and is LOADED!!!

  11. I’m completely with Cliff. There’s no way the Sixers can build a roster to not only beat the Celtics but win the finals in one offseason. If we give away all our picks and continue to lose I’m tuning out on Sixers a bit because we’d have no future for the next 6 years.
