Alex Caruso TRADED to OKC Thunder & Giddey lands with Bulls

[Music] trade season is here Sam pry you son of a you’re mother you like what the all right Sam presty does it again you know the OKC Thunder the young upand coming OKC team the number one seed in the west this past season yeah just made a trade and it’s significant one they trade joshh giddy to to the Chicago Bulls for Alex Caruso no picks OKC has 827 future first round picks the Bulls don’t get any compensation back and Alex Caruso lands with OKC I mean I I don’t think there’s any other reaction but like wow okay OKC is even better defensively they get a guy who could defend multiple multiple positions flat out dog two-time all defensive team can hit threes oh they’ve got l l door SGA case Wallace defense everywhere it’s not fair I just love that you said started all that with um I don’t think there’s anything else you can say but wow okay well what I meant it’s like it’s a swing and a hit a home run it’s it it seems to be all the things right now and I think when the trade happened there’s been a few moments today you called me as soon as hey JJ’s going to be the next head coach of lers we’ll get to that another time and then hey Josh giddy Alex kuso trade kuso you don’t going casy and then you said are you depressed and it’s not that I am depressed when I see something like this because I am also happy for OKC but I think when you look around the league like with a move like this and it happened the NBA season just ended the Celtics were Crown the Champions and boom Sam pressy has been working he has been doing stuff and he gets done and I think when you are a fan around this league you’re just like why can’t my team do that why can’t we get that done this trade it makes a lot of sense you saw Josh giddy in a lot of his flaws in the postseason and uh you know he had all the other drama surrounding him throughout the year but I don’t even think this has much to do with that so much as as has to do with him being play off the floor so many different times I also think it’s this Morgan they were the number seed last year and I think they were content without making any crazy ass move at the deadline they had Gordon Hayward it didn’t work out for Hayward there he really didn’t find a role but now you take a step back and go okay I see what this group is capable of as a young team with their first real playoff experience is there a tweak and we have an asset that even though you can look at gidy as maybe a stress asset maybe an asset that people are really down on right now there’s still some value and maybe you could trade him for an expiring Alex Caruso it’s a no-brainer it’s a way for OKC to elevate their team they don’t have to give up any picks in it they could work out an extension down the road with Caruso and they have kind of a leg up I I didn’t even tell you about this what didn’t you tell me about Caruso totally forgot knows Mark dagnal well in fact dagnal was his coach in the G League the 201617 season Caruso played for the OKC blue and to this day Caruso said that Dag’s a friend and Mentor so he’s going somewhere that he has a respect for the coach you’re playing for a team that’s a contender up and coming and you can be this like vet influence there and play a major role a major role and a major role I think when you think of Alex cruzo or so a lot of people might you think about that dog mentality he’s Scrappy he gets everywhere but he so much more than that especially how his game has evolved over the years of being more and more polished I think playing around LeBron James made him that much better of a basketball player and was like okay well what is he going to do when he doesn’t have that he’s still capable of moving without the basketball shooting the basketball finding his teammates being a scrappy Defender um and adds just so much value in so many different roles that yes it’s it’s it’s huge for OKC and I I just don’t want to discredit also what Josh giddy is or who he is as a basketball player too because I think his ability to see the floor his vision dropping dimes I mean I think that’s sometimes what people go oh but is that all he does it’s like no what that allows what that can allow as an offense to uh explore so many different options and and have so much success but sometimes it’s situational and your time is done in certain places and his time is done with OKC and they got they had make an upgrade he’s still 21 years old I think the the biggest issue and the huge looming question about giddy is will he ever be able to shoot it because now the book’s out on him yeah teams weren’t just playing off of him during the playoffs this was happening during the regular season and to your point like he is gifted with the ball in his hands and I think that’s going to be a massive opportunity for him in Chicago that wasn’t the case anymore in OKC right SGA is orchestrating a lot of things you got Jaylen Williams there you have other guys who could handle the rock that wasn’t going to be his role and if he’s playing off ball teams are going to Sag off not defend him and the greatest weapon for him is all right he’s got the ball in his hands can he make happen he has shown he could do that but for him to be a legit NBA player for years to come he’s going to be able to have to knock down shots and not be a Civ defensively for a guy his size he’s got to be better defensively if he can’t do those things then well good luck luck in the NBA but he’s still 21 and that’s I was going to say and I don’t see why why he won’t be able to you know if if he if he has the right people around him to put him in a situation to become that better shooter to become that better Defender you know to to work with what he already has as a player I mean he’s a smart player High basketball IQ um his instincts are there so at 21 years old why can’t you just grow from there I want to go back to the Thunder angle this because you just think about their defensive versatility now I mean Lou Dore is one of the best defensive players in the league should be an all defensive guy doesn’t get that credit just yet but you see what he’s able to do out there Alex Caruso is that sgaa is near the top of the NBA deflections and steals Cas Wallace during his rookie year showed the ability to go out there and defend you know what cck can do defensively MH but then you know the three-point shooting is there with Caruso now like he a 40% and he was taken a healthy number of attempts uh dor has become a better three-point shooter too what does this do for OKC in the west now like how scary are they with the fact that they have so much versatility defensively well I think that’s that’s where when you ask me are you depressed like selfishly I was thinking about me in Sacramento Sacramento and what and how the West only got better last year and how it’s seems to be staying the same right now you know Season just ended right officially but but at the same time like I I think especially when you look at some of these teams and when they take a leap defensively when you were a team that had one of the fastest Pace offenses that was so efficient and all these things when they got to the playoffs you’re just seeing like that’s not going to be good enough not only is that not going to be good enough things are going to be looking different in Sacramento most likely maybe no Malik who knows you know with Kevin herder and every and wherever this team is thinking about um possibly what they’re possibly going to do with him and just some other pieces as well what are they going to do at number 13 in the draft my point it to all of this is whatever I’m saying right now I can only imagine what other teams uh and people are saying about the teams that they cover and or root for in the Western Conference when you already see Sam prey working his magic can make in tweaks to make his already good OKC team better we saw what Boston was able to do as a team right they obviously have two absolute studs and Tatum and brown but it’s a pieces around them too the versatility that they have defensively with Derek white with Drew holiday with porzingis and you’re starting to see it with OKC they may not be at that level yet but they still have the resources to make other moves they’ve got cap space they’ve they start to get some legit experience it’s going to be nasty it’s going to be disgusting and this is a home run move by Sam prey doesn’t have to give up a pick and if that’s my biggest criticism with the bulls like I understand Chicago like they need to pick some sort of path they’ve done this for a while now with vich d Ro and Levine Caruso Lonzo ball got hurt who knows about his future it looks like they may be picking their path now and so they got moves to make so Caruso is an expiring deal you want to get something back for him so they’re taking a swing on Josh G to see if they can get something for out of him but I was just surprised they couldn’t get one of prey’s picks you could tell me they could be like hey prey you got like 800 of them you can’t just give us one Caruso was going to have a a huge Market out there think about all the contending teams who would love to have him and you would think that the Bulls would have been able to get a little more out of it I know it’s challenging because he’s an expiring deal but it’s still a huge asset maybe Sam prey is like manipulative and evil behind the scenes we just don’t know it dude like House of card well that even that like that’s like just like creepy weird but I’m no I’m like no and no one’s no one’s probably no one’s dying I doubt anyone’s dying dude if prey killed someone would you be shocked yes I mean think about the players he’s had Durant Westbrook Harden my God he pushed them into the George what is it the subway whatever one of his first K he’s doing something weird and he’s been doing it for a long time we need to investigate dude it’s not fair uh let us know what you think about this deal in the comments below where are the Bulls going and what does this move do for Oklahoma City make sure to hit the Thumbs Up 1. Great Video!! Resign malik monk, draft or trade for a true center, make 85% of free throws, and the Kings will be a top 5 seed in the west this coming season. The kings don't need any big trades. Pretty much the Mavericks game plan from last year.

  2. I will have to disagree with you, Deuce and Mo.

Kings fans wanted Caruso badly and we think he would have been exactly what the team needed.

  3. Deuce i know you love Monte but he doesn't have the ammo to make any significant moves nobody on the roster has other teams chomping at the bits to come get them its gonna be another lackluster off season we should be used to it by now kings are not able to really ever make a big splash just look at the track record since 85 we are gonna fall into mediocrity quick here also we are one of the few teams in the league who dont stockpile draft picks last time i remember we had more than a couple picks was 1990 yes 1990 we took Simmons Mays Causewell Bonner all in 1st round if we aint better in say 2 years i say tear it down trade fox sabonis keegan for picks hope I'm wrong on monte pulls a rabbit out his hat but i doubt it hard to be a fan but i been since 85 so not going anywhere even though it's difficult

  4. Caruso is the Jrue Holiday type of player we needed. I can imagine Sam running circles over all the Bulls office talking Giddey up like he's the next big thing and they bought it. They didnt even get a first round pick lol

  5. I think eating that Lavine contract for Caruso would’ve been worth it. HB is a nonfactor when it really matters. I’d roll the dice with the Lavine and take on a stud in Caruso 🤦🏽‍♂️

  6. Hard to believe that Davion/Huerter+1st rounder isn’t more valuable than Giddey given the off the court issue and how he played in the playoffs.

  7. Sam Presti has almost certainly not killed anyone. He doesn't have to. His potential thirst for domination & cruelty is satiated via these one-sided trades & home run draft picks. Even if he wanted to kill, there is simply no need.
