Portland, holding the No. 7 pick, has indeed called Houston about trading up for No. 3 overall, sources said.

  1. Have to imagine this offer includes a vet that would interest the Rockets.

Hopefully they are also calling Atlanta about #1

Trading up in an average draft seems dumb to me but I’m an idiot so who knows

Fanbase should be fired up about this draft. This is the perfect kind of draft for our player evaluation to shine

I’m fine with it as long we don’t include #14 or any future firsts. We need to take 2 swings at this draft.

Whoever falls to 3 is worth drafting IMO. This team does not have enough talent to be picky.

Ayton is good for now, but if he doesn’t earn his next contract, then a succession plan would be nice with Clingan.

Sarr is an absolute get if he falls

And we desperately need a wing, so Zachary would plug a hole.

  7. Note that our possession of the number 7 pick is just included with no context. You could write the same headline referencing the 14th pick and it would be just as accurate. There’s nothing to suggest we’re shopping the 7th any more than the 14th.

Please don’t trade up for clingan I beg you. Sarr or risacher maybe depending on price.

I think moving a vet or two to get a second high draft pick is the move. Sets up the rebuild for next year. After next years draft we would have shae, scoot, toumani, two top picks from 2024 and hopefully one of Ace Bailey/Cooper Flagg/Hugo Gonzalez or other guy with star potential. That makes the rebuild look a lot better and you have a core to build around.
