Examining the guards that figure to be available for the Bucks in next week s NBA draft

on today’s lockdown Buck we wrap up our look at draft prospects by focusing on the back court we take a look at uh a guards group that’s less intriguing than either of the two groups we looked at previously but still some interesting names to point out we get into that conversation coming up next un locked on bucks you are locked on bucks your daily Milwaukee Bucks podcast part of the locked we have arrived at um the end of the road for the draft prospect shows and feel like it’s a fitting way to go out because as we were talking about uh I think we kind of mentioned this in previous shows and as we were talking before we started recording don’t really have the same juice for this uh this class of guards in the draft that I did for the bigs and for the wings but that’s where we arve now to take a look at here’s some of the names that have been linked to the bucks or at least um we’ve seen them work out at one point we’re projected to be picked around where the Bucks are picking I think that’s started to change for one name specifically that we’ll get to but I’ll add the caveat as well um if if the Bucks take a guard in this draft I feel like it would be a second round pick we didn’t Spotlight any of those guys that are second rounders Max Christie is the one that would make the most sense there we mentioned him briefly yesterday as well obviously the NBA lineage but this is not looking at guys that are going to be second round picks it’s it’s just the first rounders that we’re focused on and I suppose I’ll add this too one name that we did leave off here it well you know what actually no we’ll save that for the final segment let’s get into as as we were talking the two names that I I think had the most talking points coming into this draft four players projected to be somewhere in the mid to late teens early 20s so we’ll start with the guy that again is featured on the thumbnail for today’s show and that is Bob Carrington out of Pittsburgh um the interesting part about him he seems to be rising now on a lot of draft boards I’ve seen him starting to track in somewhere around 15 for the most part when this process started he was right around where the Bucks are picking I don’t think he’s G to be there anymore but as we started digging into this he was and now you get to this point of I don’t think Bob Carrington is gonna be there I don’t know that that’s going to be a problem for the bucks for reasons we’ll get to though he is a combo guard and I’ve seen a lot of highrisk high reward attached to him some of those comps too maybe not necessarily in terms of um exact style of play but more that highrisk high reward and what you could expect to get from him Anthony Simons and D’Angelo Russell I’ve seen thrown out there he is very bold dominant and uh a couple of the write up saying this guy really needs to be in an offense that is ball screen heavy he’s the one that’s handled in the ball and ultimately his best role may be as just a dynamic scorer that is your sixth man knocks against his shot selection his shooting splits were okay but not what you would really hope for for a guy that’s going to be as bold dominant as he was a 40% field goal shooter low 30s on his threes below 80% at the free throw line all the rest of the intangibles not bad per se just not great for a guy that’s going to be dominating the ball as much as he was he is is really just a step in and score type of player second cousin of Rudy Gay by the way um and I think the other thing worth pointing out when you look back at his freshman season he um scored in double digits 20 times four those were 20-point games only 15 freshmen did that since 1992 93 and if you want the interesting nugget if if somehow he does slide to the Bucks and they draft him he would be the first pit player who was also a Pittsburgh native to be selected in the NBA draft Wow since the Bucks took Lamar Patterson in 2014 yeah Bob is an interesting Pro I mean he’s a young guy as well which I think should be pointed out because again a lot of the development that he has shown has has come late like he is somebody who apparently grew like a foot during his high school career which again he’s learning how to play with his size but what we saw from him at the college level was that he is a gifted ISO score like he can get to his shot 75% of all of his buckets came unassisted where again he is just going to go and get it himself which is a talent that we’ve talked about a lot um something that the bugs don’t have a lot of outside of Giannis who does it a different way Chris and now Dame when those are your primarily guys who can create their own shots but bub is a guy who at such a young age has already shown a talent for that um he’s pretty nice in the mid-range as well and that’s what he was told to do while he was in college be a shopmaker but with him being a shopmaker he’s somebody who doesn’t put a lot of pressure on the rim like that’s an area of the floor where he does not necessarily spend a lot of time in um not necessarily a good you know U off the catch three-point shooter um and he’s also somebody who as we mentioned yesterday uh he’s someone who just needs to put a little bit more bulk on his frame as well again he has a lot of tools that you at and you’re interested in about 64 guard combo guard like you mentioned another comp that I saw for bub with a big L will and I was like that that feels that feels accurate from some of the highlights that I’ve seen from him and what I’ve read about him um because he’s a bucket getter that’s what he’s here to do uh for the most part pull up a little bit of playmaking to him as well he’s kind of creative when it comes to that again he has the intelligence of seeing I have two on me someone’s open and the ability to find uh who that open guy is but again he’s not necessarily uh somebody who I can see on the Bucks coming in and having a really big role immediately but if he gets into a spot where he can get some playing time to kind of play through some of the development that he’s going to need in his game I think he’s going to be he has potential uh to be a pretty decent NBA player I’m not sure if it’s fit with the bugs though and like we mentioned his dra stock his draft stock has um risen uh since we even started planning for this show and I’m sure it continue to change over the next week and the draft that doesn’t have a lot of consensus throughout um so it’ll be interesting to see where he falls but I can see why there’s some Intrigue uh to BB um and another comp that I’ve seen too which makes sense in the the aspect of combo guard is Spencer Den witty um not great athleticism but very good size for at worst a combo guard at best a point guard at 65 and you mentioned the growth spurt that he had the size helps him defensively I I I saw a lot of he doesn’t really have great hands and and those intangibles but he’s switchable and has that 6 fo5 frame but his ability to get to his spots and score I think the two things that would lead me to believe again neither of us think he’s he’s gonna end up being there so this you could say well what’s the point of mentioning him when we started this he was around there um but I think the two things where you would say I get all those strengths that he’s going to bring but I just don’t know that it would fit with this Bucks team are how Bal dominant it seems like he needs to be and his role in that sense with the Bucks would basically be run the second offense kind of similar to what we talked about with Chris last year you’re the guy that’s running the offense and you can do the bulk of the scoring um when you got Damen Lillard he’s not gonna be ball dominant and we mentioned he really needs ball screens kind of similar to a lot of his play the way that we saw the Dame and Brook Lopez screen setting package last year again that’s going to be reserved for Damen Lillard but he also struggled uh as a pull-up shooter a year ago he’s good in the mid-range but not great in the pull-up sense and again if you’re going to be ball dominant and you’re going to be working off of ball screens you’re going to be walking into a lot of those shots so that’s one area that certainly would need to get better you would assume with Bob Carrington I don’t think having said all that if he’s there at 23 and the Bucs end up with him I don’t think any of us would complain about it because of those very clear offensive strengths that he brings and again you know he’s certainly not Ryan Dunn when we talk about that defensive ability but he has size and that’s the big piece of it is especially if you would let’s say land Bob Carrington and have to figure out a way to play him with Damen Lillard you can’t have two undersized guys playing together or you can’t have a negative defensive player and an undersized player playing uh together in the same back Court San vasini said he was the talk of The Scouting Community after Conference Championship week he had several big games as you can remember um giving pit a late bid for the NCAA tournament also had a strong start to his pre-draft process several teams noted he had an impressive pro day there’s an expectation he’s going to go somewhere in the first 20 picks Monster uh sharp passer a good shooter as well became an improved Defender throughout the season was productive in his scoring averages pretty decent rebound rebounder as well at more than five per game shot only 41% from the field and just 32% from three though youngest highlevel college player in the class he does not turn 19 until next month so despite all that youth I feel like he he processes the game exceptionally well so again I I think especially when you look at the last couple lines there that we just read from Sam I get the sense he’s going to go somewhere maybe even in the lottery but probably in the top 15 or so picks in this draft in nbadraft.net their most recent update have him projected to go 12 and number eight on their big board so that’s the talent that Bob carington brings to the mix clearly showing also of how fast his stock is rising throughout this draft process as well because again I think part of yeah yeah it it’s his age the fact that he does turn 19 until next month but he’s already showing you these types of skills understanding that he had the grow spurt now he’s a 64 combo guard who as you mentioned not necessarily a lock down Defender uh but he’s somebody who’s who’s active he has a pretty good motor he has the good effort on that side of the ball as well it’s a good passer we mentioned his ability to score in ISO uh he’s good with the catch and shoot threes has a pretty decent handle as well he’s again he’s a younger guy I was seeing another uh comp to him was Caris LeVert like a younger and healthier Caris LeVert coming out of college necessarily who he is in the NBA but coming out of college projects was another comp for him but he’s he’s a riser for a reason so it’s I’ll be interested to see if he actually is ready to play this year um like what type of role that he’s gonna have is he gonna be a rotation guard at this point Off the Bench so on and so forth but the tools are there and that’s what makes his potential so exciting and those again to go back to the conversation we’ve had all throughout the week that’s the interesting part about this draft is when you think about some of those names and those comps of Carris Levert or Spencer Den witty some of the other ones that we went through the wings yesterday um again it’s not Allstar all NBA type of players but it is strong solid rotational pieces and it does seem like there’s a a a a pretty decent amount of those in this draft so you may not get a guy that’s a Cornerstone of your franchise going forward but you’re going to get a guy if you do your due diligence and select the right pick you’re going to get a guy that is going to be a part of your rotation and playable depth for years to come there’s one more name that um I’ve seen I think is certainly going to be there or very close to it when the Bucks are picking he’s another guy that seems like he’s picked up some momentum and has another one of those interesting comps we’ll get into that after this unlocked on bucks time to talk to you about our linkedin.com lockon NBA that’s linkedin.com lockon NBA to post your job for free terms and conditions apply brings us to our second name on the uh list here Camille and uh that is out of Duke Jared McCain so this a guy that I think he’s relatively stabilized at where we’ve seen him in this uh draft process seems to be slotting in somewhere around 20 or the mid 20s but when we look at Jared McCain similar to the conversation we had about Ryan Dunn there’s one skill set that uh really stands out for him and that is his shooting ability he is or was I should say a Duke a terrific scorer last season shooting the basketball um 42% shooter and catch and shoot three that put him in the 91st percentile he was a better than 40% shooter from three in college basically a 90% free throw shooter and you know when when we mentioned some of these interest comps that are being thrown out there the comp that is most attached to Jared McCain and you’re already nodding so I think you know where it’s headed is Seth Curry who again also a Duke product but I think this one to me makes the most sense because of his shooting ability but also because and it I don’t mean this as a knock per se but outside of the shooting there wasn’t much else at the Collegiate level at least not to say he can’t develop some other assets and do more but it was basically shooting and a lack of size and that’s the exact same thing we’ve seen from Steph Curry threat Seth Curry throughout his career but it’s kept Seth Curry in the league for a decent amount of time yeah and on top of that too uh he’s somebody who again doesn’t project to be like just an elite Defender but he’s somebody who can be hold up pretty well uh with fighting over screens and and playing defense on on ball defense so that’s also part of it but the real lore of him of course is the shooting uh he was I mean just a knockdown three-point shooter and one thing that I love about McCain that I’ve heard throughout the draft process I think it was reported on ESPN uh where they said that he’s actually taking a different strategy than a lot of other players in his draft range which he’s refusing one-on zero workouts he wants the three on threes he wants to be in workouts where he’s competing against other players so he’s somebody who’s already seemen as one of the best Shooters in the draft but he is going to these workouts and he’s like no I want you to see I want you to see my game in competition so I love that aspect of his game as well he’s somebody who has worked out for the bucks so far as well so that’s part of the connection that we have uh with McCain here and on this show but it’s the shooting that’s that’s the piece of it that is just the most alluring for him and thinking of his fit with the Bucks we’ve talked about how in that two spot having a good shooter is helpful but also having somebody who isn’t necessarily super weak on defense would be a big benefit we saw the having the shooting with the effort with Malik Beasley last year uh but having someone who can play a little bit more defense would be preferred again McCain is not somebody who’s a lock down Defender by any means I don’t want that to be you know mistaken but he’s somebody who’s gonna put the effort and he’s not necessarily someone who’s going to get targeted all the time um people are going to test him for sure but he can he can play a little bit of Defense there he’s not great at it you might want a little bit more but he’s going to not necessarily be someone who you can Target consistently but if he’s the the worst defender on the floor or if you put him in the back court with Damen Lillard both of them might get tested from time to time so it’ll be interesting to see that fit there when it comes to the defensive side again I’m G say he’s as bad as Malik Beasley based on what I’ve been reading about projections but he’s also not necessarily a super plus um but the shooting is there for him which is the the big comp for him I saw one more comp for him that was kind of interesting and it was uh someone who bugs fans might be familiar with and that was brenn Forbes uh when it comes to the shooting ability that he has uh I mean that’s the toughest piece I’ve seen the same writeups of hey don’t just assume he’s a one-trick pony with the shooting here’s some of the other things that he does the size is the toughest part of it and not just defensively it’s going to be tough offens offensively too where um he he is a guy that’s going to put pressure on the rim with his ability to get into the paints penetrate and kick but especially on the defensive side it’s it’s tough in a back court where you already have Damen Lillard to theoretically have that playing next to him out there you are going to get targeted defensively uh in your back court especially as we’ve had the conversation of Chris Middleton let’s say in an Ideal World Dame McCain Middleton those are your one through three uh Chris Middleton obviously not a bad Defender but he’s no longer the athletic guy that he was a couple of years ago that’s a pretty tough uh set of wing Defenders that you have or pair Trio of wing Defenders that you would have to hold up to where we see the league headed and that’s going to be the challenge with McCain I’ve seen now in the most recent mock we mentioned he was going somewhere around 20 to mid 20s he started to pick up more that I’ve seen a couple having go 16 to the 76ers who again found a way to use Seth Curry very well with Joel embiid on the floor is their two-man game um I’ve seen him go 18 in a couple of 20 as well going into the Cavs early in those 20s um so he’s a guy that again similar to to Ryan Dunn you know there’s that one thing how do you develop the rest around it and I think as as much as we had pointed out man it’s it’s really rough when you look at the offensive side for Ryan Dunn um he is there’s more to work with I think with Ryan Dunn where you feel like you can develop the offense it doesn’t have to be All-Star level it just has to be replacement level offense that you can get from Ryan Dunn the size is the biggest thing that’s gonna be tough to get over for McCain yeah that’s going to be tough for him too and especially like again he’s a great shooter as we mentioned but finishing at The Rim not a strength of his and again it comes with the size of it just not having that touch around the rim so so um when you’re looking at how you would try to defend him you know offensively it’s just close out on him at the three-point line and then see what happens from there because more times than not uh what’s going to be the best option for him is going to be just passing the ball out of that situation um he’s a great spot up shooter which is something that would be helpful for the bucks he’s pretty good in transition as well a lot of the transition buckets that he got he was slowing down shooting the three from there as well he’s a pretty good player as well when coming um in the pick and roll he’s a good ball handler um out the pick and roll as well so like he has some talents but to your point about fit with the Bucks in his size in that back court um it would be a smaller back court for the bucks in that way and thinking about defense especially with the Rumblings about Brook Lopez possibly being on the trade block for the bucks and then thinking about what that defense behind your wing looks like um some question marks there where you you wonder if taking McCain is the best fit for the bucks and as we’ve mentioned just being completely honest here um going through all the different draft prospects that are on the board who’ve worked out with the Bucks who might fall into the draft range of the bucks um when it comes to guards I’m just not as excited about some of those options here like I think that looking at picking round 23 some of the wing options are more interesting some of the big options um are more interesting than what you can get from a guard position where the Bucks are picking um but McCain has some tools where you can look at it with that three-point shooting the competitive nature that he has where it’s like I can see some why this could be a fit here but it’s one that doesn’t really excite me too much if I’m being completely honest and San Vini said he was seen as a potential oneandone Lottery Prospect to entering the the season last year with Duke had a slow start and that kind of got people off his sent a little bit but in the last two-thirds of the Season he was one of the best freshman scorers in high major college basketball uh it started in early December when he started against Charlotte from that point forward a more than 16 points in five rebounds over a 28 game stretch shot 42% on um more than six three-point attempts per game and uh show the ability to get into the lane and score in transition and driving on Closeouts as well I’ve seen some variant reports of whether or not that’s something he’s gonna have to work on a lot more but forini he added I thought he improved dramatically on defense over his last 15 games or so so there’s a lot to like there again it’s just the size intangible that is is going to be tough and I think as as much as we’ve talked about who’s the backup point guard you need guys that are going to handle the ball as we’ve kind of detailed not only the level of prospects that we’ve dug into here but just it seems like bigs and big wings are a much more pressing need for the bucks than uh than guards are got a couple more names to get into that we’ll do as we wrap up our look at the guards coming up after this unlocked on bucks time to talk to you now about prize picks they’re America’s have a locked in third per se we had a couple of names that we were looking at and I mentioned there was one that we did not really Spotlight but in hindsight maybe we should have because this is the name that seems to be locked into the range where the Bucks are going to be selecting and obviously it wouldn’t take much to get a scouting report on him given he plays in the same building as the Bucks that of course being Tyler kak of Marquette who you’re seeing really consistently locked in in most of these mock drafts at around the 20 to 24 range I’ve seen him going to the Phoenix Suns in quite a few mocks um the Cavaliers as well with some of their two-man game that they could run with the pair of bigs they at least have on the roster for now but really quickly Tyler KCK does he make sense for the bucks as a guy that could essentially be your backup point guard that learns under Damen Lillard runs the second unit offense I think there’s a lazy comp to be made to a guy that we saw torture the Bucks in the playoffs and that’s TJ McConnell but Tyler KCK is a much better shooter than TJ McConnell he’s got a lot of the other stuff that mcconell brings he’s clearly a better shooter though yeah only thing like a big knock against is against size he’s a smaller guard as well so uh the idea of him sharing the court with Damen Lillard doesn’t feel as something like ah I would love to see that it’s not as intriguing but the idea of him coming off the bench as like that backup point guard running the second unit like he is a very intelligent point guard he is a pass first playmaking point guard very high IQ um just really smart he’s a good shooter from three as well he does a lot of the things that uh you would want a true point guard to do which is why I think he’s most commonly mock to the Suns because we know they have a need for a point guard and given the fact of how their roster is Con red uh they’re going to need of course try to hit on some of these rookies coming in so that’s a fit that makes a lot of sense where he might get more playing time than he would if he was drafted to the bucks but I mean he profiles as somebody um again just a high feel for the game type of player I’ve enjoyed watching Coy play at Marquette as well I’m not sure if he’ll make it to the bugs at 23 with how his stock has been rising a bit because initially yeah uh he was seen as kind of like a late first early second and now he’s kind of coming up to the early 20s um because again yeah yeah that three-point shot the IQ um he’s a smart Defender is the way that I would say for kic uh he just knows again just a high IQ type of player so I mean again I wouldn’t be opposed to it but the idea of him sharing the court with Dame and things of that sort not as intriguing but as somebody who could be a backup point guard Off the Bench I think he has that yeah i’ I’ve seen a couple uh with him at 15 going to the Miami Heat which you look at you think he kind of strikes me as a heat guy that would make some sense for him especially in that Twan game with uh bam at a bio so an intriguing name there in Tyler kak I mentioned we had a couple others to um look at but that’s kind of the challenge with the guards here is it doesn’t feel like there’s quite as much of the potentially quality uh depth here uh one of them that we did want to talk about two I should say there’s jacobe wal of Baylor and then there’s a very intriguing name when we look we look back at some of the hype that was going in or or surrounding I should say Jared McCain going into the season you saw much more of that with the second name that uh that we wanted to Spotlight here who in most mocks is projected to be there that being Isaiah ker out of USC but um really quickly I mentioned jacobe Walter uh you kind of know what to expect from Baylor guys so that’s one thing that you would start with um with jacobe Walter who very young and that’s one of the differences here with some of the wings that we talked about you saw more of the older guys that could potentially step in and give you something immediately Jobe Walter’s 19 years old but it seems like there’s no clear consensus on on what to take from him part of that is the age um but Scouts primarily split on is this guy going to develop into a star is he going to be a long-term NBA starter is he going to be a rotational piece is he somebody that you know maybe won’t pan out because it’s relatively low three-point shooting numbers that he posted uh throughout his collegiate career and San Vini said you Walter had an up and down season averaged about 14 and a half points per game inconsistent shooter teams have few concerns about his long-term upside because his motion looks clean he can shoot from a variety of situations however teams have worried about everything else he isn’t a lead guard because he doesn’t see the floor well as a passer defensively he struggled at times to stay in front of players which kind of goes against what we said you know what to expect from Baylor guys and Scouts just split on his upside and what they ultimately see for him and that’s kind of the norm that we’re seeing here with these guards available there is no clear consensus or even strong consensus opinion of I think it may take a little bit of time but here’s what this guy is going to get to it feels like that’s a lot of what we’re seeing in the back court and the same applies to that other name that I mentioned um we wanted to talk about here Isaiah ker out of USC another guy very young 19 years old but you know this is a guy that I think what a year ago year and a half ago all the hype that was starting to surround him coming into college not that he was at the LeBron James or carelo Anthony Lev LEL but there was a lot of hype attached to him and I think if I would have told you then this guy might be in the mid to late 20s in the first round draft pick you would probably think we were crazy yeah crazyer like what happened during that season for this to be the case either the bugs had a season where things did not go well and they’re picking higher than you expected or uh that ker had a season where just things just didn’t go the way that everybody expected given the hype that he had coming in from high school and it’s a lot more the in this case for him just he has the flashes right he has also an NBA body where you look at him and he has the strength already he’s looks like he’s ready to go in the NBA already um but just a really and he has a size as well well six foot five as well well by USC he L at six foot five but come combine was like more like 63 without shoes so we’ll see um but he’s good at you know attacking he’s good at The Rim he a pretty good assist rate he’s Shifty but again a really wide range on what he can be in this partic or where he can go in this particular draft which the norm as we’ve talked about um some of the player coms that I’ve seen for him were actually two former bucks point guards uh one was Jeff t uh and then the other one was Eric bledo and I was like the body shape of bledo reminded me a lot of what you see from Isaiah ker but uh jacobe is one of the ones that’s kind of interesting to me as well because of the comp that I saw for him initially the first comp that I saw for jacobe was shades of Chris Middleton and everyone who knows me knows I’m a huge Chris Middleton fan um and he got that a lot because of the way that he can kind of get to his shots he loves the pull-ups the side steps he has a smooth form for the most part um and then you mentioned the the defense and the Scout’s take on his defense is so interesting to me because there are some who are like I don’t see it I look at the the physical tools that he has saying like he has the long arms like he’s aware and jacobe is also one of those kind of guys who plays with a lot of emotion like after he dunks he’s flexing he’s he’s he’s talking he is trying to get his teammates up and ready to go so he has that in his uh personality traits as well but for jacobe the handles aren’t really there what you would kind of expect for a combo guard who can lead you know the offense every so often just not there for him yet this point um but again there are some things where you look at the flashes that he has and just the tools where you can say this is a guy who could be a really interesting pick um but we’ll see where he goes I’m not sure if he’s even GNA be on the board when the bugs pick at this point again a wide draft range for jacobe Walter but um he got that dog in him I will say that about jacobe um and for Isaiah ker I mean this was a guy that early in the season too you you wondered he could be the number one pick very early in the Collegiate season but that was certainly the hype going into his um his freshman year with USC last year and part of that too is as we mentioned there is no clear superstar in this draft so that increases your chances of being the number one pick but that was what was attached to Isaiah ker and you think about the hype of Coler and bronny James both going to USC and what was expected for that team obviously a lot happened that changed the course of that but I mean you could potentially have both of those guys going very late in the first round or late first round early second round to to wrap up that point on ker San vini’s write up was again he has him going 26 to the Wizards and noted it’ll be a long slide for Collier but but sources are having trouble finding his floor right now Scouts worried about his style of play he tailed off as USC’s season started to fall apart struggled with turnovers and defense missed time after he HT his hand once he returned in February he took the Pack 12 by storm averaged just under 19 points over his final seven games shot 46% from the field 36% on threes he was the bruising powerful driver we saw early in college and throughout his high school career getting to the free throw line seven times per game an impressive downhill threat who lives in the paint and as the wherewithal to hit kickout passes and dump off so that kind of speaks to those comps you mentioned for Eric bledo however did not test out or measure well at the combine evaluators wonder if his finishing and power-based game will translate to the NBA level just under 6 foot three without shoes uh lacks Elite length or a consistent jumper he could can he consistently be the downhill power-based player we saw at lower levels uh that is the biggest question on ker going into this draft so that’s the thing is again to kind of tie this all together um I think the big differences that we’ve seen in just looking at some of these names that seem to make sense for the bucks are there’s more how would I put this somewhat stability it’s a better gauge of the floor for a lot of The Bigs and especially the wings and bigger wings that there is in the draft then there is the guards the guard CS are much more um at the surface at least low floor potentially high ceiling yeah and just to wrap up one name I want to throw out there we’ve been focusing more on first round draft picks possibly for the Bucs but one other name that um I kind of like like I’m interested in this it’s cam Christie a second round draft pick possibly for the bucks love the size about six5 Elite three-point shooter uh he’s somebody who defensively he moves his feet he’s a pretty pretty decent Defender good Defender he plays hard um but not a great paint presence that’s not where he gets his buckets but the shooting ability of uh cam Christie is intriguing to me especially with that 33rd pick or if the Bucks were trading back in the second round um and going a little bit later than that so I just want to throw his name out there again not someone if it was a first round pick absolutely not but in the second round somebody who’s a little intriguing to me um one other thing to throw out there too since we mentioned the name and everybody’s favorite podcast already threw that out there himself but you know what about just saying who are the young guys that we like on the Lakers what if we draft bronnie James at 23 and just say hey you want him it’s gonna cost you one of your young guys we’ll figure out a way to do this of you want him it’s gonna cost you Bobby poris or we’ll give you Bobby poris and bronnie but it’s gonna cost you Austin Reef something like that I would hope not I would hope we don’t even play those types of games not here for like at that that early that’s that’s really really early for bronnie when there could be some Dynamic Wing players or bigs on the board still so I would hope not not not at that point even at 33 that feels a little high for for bronnie we didn’t mention the name but um until now but you know that’s one of the guys not as much of a we know what the floor is but that’s the thing about bronnie is we could be wrong is he gonna be LeBron no but um he does seem as though it’s a guy with his defensive ability granted doesn’t have the size of his father but it does seem like yeah I feel pretty confident that take the whole LeBron and clutch aspect out of it he he’ll stick around in the league for a decent amount as just a role player and a guy that’s out there primarily for the defense yeah that feels like a good fit for him just a guy who can make out a name a name for himself and the sense of being a high quality role player going on because that defense is for real he has the body type as well um Bonnie could be that but being like that’s a tough name to carry LeBron James Jr so um hopefully that he can just find a way to stick in the league and have a nice career for himself especially with the health scares that he had uh to start his college career where he wasn’t sure if he’d be able to even get to this point uh that’ll do it for our look at the prospects that stood out the most to us in terms of realistically what would make sense for the bucks we will have much more on the draft next week again we’re going to do a live show Wednesday night for night one of the NBA draft toh capture all the Fallout react to what’s happening as it happens and assuming the Bucs keep that pick react to the pick that the Bucs make so um we’ll post some more details on the time we plan to go live next week but the Draft starts at 7 probably sometime around 8 somewhere around there so we can capture what’s already started to transpire and then be um live with you guys as the Bucks are making their pick we’re going to catch up with Van from Brew hoop as well early next week to um touch base on the second apron and cap situation the Bucks are facing some thoughts he has on what they could potentially do to get out of the second apron and just his thoughts on the off season as a whole so look for that early in the week and as we’ve continued to mention it’s your last chance to uh leave the feedback if you absolutely do not want it even though again it’s not going to take away from bucks content would be a oneoff separate show every single week but leave your thoughts on Camille and I rolling out a wrestling show probably Saturday so you’ll still get your Monday through Friday bucks talk um but then for those of you that are fans your Saturday recap of everything that happened throughout the course of the week in the world of professional wrestling that will do it for the day and for the week a lots coming up next week with the draft finally here and a free agency beginning from there conversation with Van as well and uh who knows what we’ll have to react to in terms of moves not just by the bucks but other teams made at the NBA Draft so we’re now starting to hit the busy part of the off season for Camille I’m Justin we will talk to you once again next week unlocked on bucks

Justin and Camille wrap up their positional look at next week’s draft by digging through some of the guards linked to the Bucks. Are there any year one contributors available in the mid-20s and second round or should their focus be on finding more bigs and wings? Does this position tie into what the Bucks do in free agency?
