My Nuggets 1st and 2nd round Big Boards

1st round:

  1. Baylor Scheierman
I went back and forth on this one for a while, but as much as a backup big was missing, I think someone who can come off the bench and create offense was an even bigger hole. He’s a little older, but Scheierman has the look of an immediate impact player who can do a little bit of everything on the court.

  2. DaRon Holmes
Holmes is a favorite around here and for good reason. He can play the 4 with Jokic and the 5 with Gordon with solid size, defense, and shooting.

  3. Ajay Mitchell
Versatility has been the name of the game so far and Mitchell keeps that trend going. The small school Belgian isn’t the best athlete, but has good size, is a crafty scorer, brings effort on defense, and is capable of running an offense.

  4. Terrence Shannon Jr.
The recently acquitted Shannon is the oldest prospect on my list, but brings a full toolbox to the NBA. Not quite the shooter Scheierman is, he brings more at the rim and is a better defender, when he’s locked in.

  5. Tristen Newton
A two time National Champion had a much larger role this past season sharing the backcourt with lottery Stephon Castle. Not really a good shooter, he’s the best passer of this bunch, brings it on the defensive end, and has a game very reminiscent of Bruce Brown.

2nd round:

  1. Pelle Larsson
Probably my favorite sleeper in this class, I’m not sure how Larsson has gone overlooked for so long. Similar to Christian Braun, a very good athlete, strong on the defensive end, but a better passer and a much better shooter. I’d want to trade up for him in the 2nd.

  2. Jaylen Wells
Wells stayed under the radar for a while starting his career at Sonoma State, it became impossible to ignore a 20 year old 3 and D prospect who shot 42% from 3.

  3. Jalen Bridges
The third player of the same ilk, definitely fair to say that I’m scared of the hole KCP might leave. Another good defender who knocked down 41% of his 3s last year.

  4. Dillon Jones
I’ve mentioned the small school Jones before, he is a very good passer and rebounder with shooting upside who likely slots in as a small 4 in the NBA.

  5. PJ Hall
I hate to say it, but Hall has a little of that sneaky athleticism, can stretch the floor a little, and some solid passing. He’s not really a rim protector and not capable of switching right now.

This is a good board but I don’t think we need to prioritize the SG position imo. I also think Creighton players are overvalued though this might have been one of their best teams in a while or all time.

Shannon brings his off court issues which is why the Nuggs should avoid

As a creighton fan Baylor to the nuggets would be an absolute dream

N’faly Dante is one of my favorites for the second. He was probably the 3rd best college big this year. Game wreckingly dominant some games. And his game is super translatable. Main thing is injury concerns and not high potential hold him back.

  5. My only wish for the draft is to get rid of damn Zeke Nnaji.

Don’t like Shannon as a player at all, don’t think he fits our offensive style, and I don’t think he fits our roster either considering how many wings we have at the moment
