The biggest need is a backup point guard and size, but size with shooting and I’m not sure Edey fills that bill. But if they have an idea of how to find a shooting/rebounding four (trade, free agency) and Edey’s on the board, it’d be hard to pass.

    Other tidbits from his mailbag:

On Ed Rogers’ role within MLSE:

    >I think there might be a misconception about the role E. Rogers has. He has absolutely no involvement in the day-to-day, or even year-to-year operations of the Raptors, Leafs, TFC, Argos or any of their affiliates. He’s a board member and calling for his ouster is futile. The Lieweke comparable is Keith Pelley today.

    >But he’s (Ed Rogers) really not had a role in the season-to-season evolution.

On Cory Joseph’s “snub” from the national roster:

    >I tend to agree but I don’t know that the end result of cutting after camp or not inviting him at all is all that different.

    >I think we all agree that with Gilgeous-Alexander, Murray and Nembhard, Joseph wasn’t going to Paris.

    On Bronny James reported interest:

    >The main job of an agent or representative is to create a market for their client, real or not. Bronny James has good representation.

    On potentially trading Bruce Brown:

    >Brook Lopez is closed to washed, the Raptors are building, there is no sense to bring him here.

On the impact of defense for winning in the NBA:

    >But they know, way more than you and I and most of our friends do, what truly impacts winning on a consistent basis and they appreciate it. Even more than the crazy scoring exploits.

Collier at 19 solves back up guard, but not shooting. But in terms of talent and upside I think he can be good in 1-2 years. They don’t have enough talent to be trying to build around the edges. They need to swing for home runs in the draft (this will happen next year too with a top10 pick in my ideal scenario)

Having 2 slow footed centers wouldn’t be ideal.

I’d love if Raps can trade for Isaiah Stewart who’s apparently on the market.

How would yall feel about Bub Carrington at 19 for backup PG?

I won’t lie. The pairing of Kolek and Gradey off the bench sounds really good to me. Defense wise, it has me concerned, but that is where you jumble up line ups for.

Amazing filler from Doug. He’s been saying a lot of nothing for weeks now to fill his quota

If Memphis is serious about having a Center Trade Jak and Draft Matas or Holland #9 go for Missi #19 Kolek #31

Trade Bruce for a higher pick, draft Jared McCain. Seriously though I think there are too many guards in this draft with potential of being great backups, I worry though the options at 19 will be limited.
