[Sidery] The Knicks and Wizards have had recent dialogue around a potential trade involving Mitchell Robinson, per @IanBegley

New York is hopeful to re-sign Isaiah Hartenstein to a long-term deal as their starting center.

From Begley:

Magic big man Goga Bitadze is among the centers that’s been on New York’s radar if it needs to pivot. There are probably many other centers under consideration for this scenario.

  1. Reminds me a lot of Rob Williams. Terrific player, but keeping him on the floor is an exercise in futility.

Does the injury history mean Mitch is getting sent to “get his affairs in order?”

What exactly does a player like Robinson do for the Wizards?

  4. Shootit_Rockets

This is probably so New York can keep Hartenstien right?

Anywhere else, please don’t send our boy to the shadow realm.

    Man this hurts

I love Mitch, wish he could stay healthy. He was on a legit all defensive pace this year before he got hurt

    Interesting… 🤔

He’ll be entering his age 26 season this upcoming year, so not sure how he fits our timeline. But he immediately improves our rebounding and paint defense. Whatever big we end up drafting, going up against Mitch in practice will definitely help prepare them for the physicality of the league.

I don’t hate it… as long as we fleece NY

Why when they’re about to draft a center at number 2

  9. HokageEzio

They’re really gonna send my boy to Siberia 😔

  10. Wizards really have no strategy on how to win, why would they acquire such an injury prone player. Are they stupid?

As a wizards fan i’m game. I even thought about this season. But what would the trade be?

  12. Doobie_Howitzer

Literally why though? That’s a strict downgrade

  13. As a Thunder fan, I actually prefer Robinson to Hartenstein. But a lot of that is just a fan of Mitch and his personal story. He just comes off as an okie, what he did for his widower basketball coach, how he rescued like 20 dogs, listens to country music…he’d be perfect in OKC in that regard and a fan favorite.

  14. Noooo knicks need mitch to be thrown in a package for PG

Whoa! Goga to the Knicks? This is huge! He may be under the radar to some people but Goga, imo, will be the biggest steal of this off-season’s free agents.

He’s one of those classic centers with no outside shooting which is why he take the starting spot from WCJ. But he was one of the key players for Magic’s solid defense. And he has good playmaking. Man, Knicks front office has been on fire. I’m fricking hyped.

I really don’t know how you can trade a guy like Robinson when you play in the east and he’s one of the only guys who can physically handle Embiid.

Hartenstein is in line to make the most money he will probably make in his career right now the Knicks don’t have the cap space anywhere near the number needed. Moving injury prone Robinson in hopes of getting a reliable replacement is essential.

So the Wizards only do this if the Knicks attach a pick, right?
