so you’re telling me that the Chicago Bulls just got rid of one of their key pieces and sent them to the Oklahoma City Thunder and no pics were involved this is a straight up trade what are y’all doing the Bulls are doing this one thing where they show a lack of urgency all season and then they overcorrect and show Too Much urgency and then it leads to them getting absolutely fleeced by other smarter GMS when are these teams going to learn to stop trading with Sam pry and stop trading with Brad Stevens that’s those are there’s other GMS as well that you wouldn’t Tim Connelly’s up there but stop trading with these people seeing how each of these people played this season this is an absolute fleece and the Thunder just got better like easily without having to give up a pick that is nuts Chicago you’re under investigation

So, Im gonna play devil's advocate for a sec. I can see why they did it. Caruso is 30 and generally, these aggressive, high motor guards dont age well. Giddey is 21 and showed flashes of his potential this past season but had trouble putting it together. I can see the logic behind the trade.
But I agree that it's insane to not at least get a first from OKC. And the injury/aging stuff is speculative at the end of the day. Caruso will most likely make the Thunder even better than they already are. And, the Bulls have not been great at developing players for a while now. If any team is gonna maximize Giddey's potential, I highly doubt it's the Bulls. Not to mention, the Bulls were shit at spacing the floor this year and Giddey is not gonna help that with his shooting. Do they move Coby off ball with Giddey's arrival? I got no clue how they think Giddey will fit into their roster unless they plan on substantially improving their shooting this coming season.
Like… I get it? If Zo is never going to be healthy, they need playmaking and pace. Giddey does that. But to not get any picks? Mismanagement. Plain and simple.

I swear yall are so weird with these takes and just follow what the majority says , giddey is a 21 old with crazy upside. Just two seasons ago he averaged 16/8/6. Better than any season Caruso has had . Caruso struggles on offense and will occasionally hit an open 3 , defense is good but teams would still put numbers on him especially from 3, plus he’s already 30yrs old , this is his absolute peak , giddey will most likely improve with a new team.
It’s weird cuz, if it’s time to blow it up, blow it up. But at THAT point, I’d rather get a pick and cash than a subpar player that’s not really gonna fit in the future vision
I'm not sure why anyone would trade with the Thunder and a first round pick is not the goal. Other than if you were trying to get a player you can't get like SGA, Chet, or J Dub.

Chicago traded a role player for a starter from the #1 team in the west. The draft picks offered for AC were for this draft, a very flat draft which are unproven, where Josh is proven, but had a tough year where he wasn’t even playing his natural position because of the emergence of JDub. I’d expect Josh to be 18/7/8 this season.
As a Bulls fan I'm confused how adding a 21yr old over a 30yr old who averaged more points, rebounds and assist??? Yes alex is a fan favorite and a way better defender but what where we winning? Nothing, so why not free Caruso and get younger and more overall talent
